Chapter-35 Return to Canterlot [Edited]

As Luna entered the castle grounds carrying Night on her back and being surrounded by her 6 guards under the misty night sky she had crafted for the night she saw Celestias pacing form. As soon as Celestia noticed Luna and the bloodied form of Night on her back she teleported to her sister and spoke.

"Sister are you okay? What happened? Why is Night on your back, is he dead?"-Celestia said in a worried manner as she examined her sister for any wounds she might have.

"Calm down sister We are all okay as are the element bearers but we do have a lot to discuss. For now would you please send Night to my chambers he used up almost all of his magic reserves fighting the dragon and needs to rest."- Luna said in a calm and calculating tone.

"Yes of course Twilights letter was surprisingly lacking in any specifics of what happened apart from stating that the problem was resolved."-Celestia said as her horn lit up and Night disappeared.

"Guards once you leave my and Nights belongings you may rest for the Night. Miss Vibrant Arts and sir Stormy Cloud the ceremony for your promotion to the rank of personal guards will be held tomorrow make sure to rest up before then and be in the barracks by noon."- Luna said in a commanding voice.

"Yes princess." All 6 guards answered in unison before they headed into the castle.

"I am sure you wish to hear of Nights training as well of the dragon sister but I wish to take a bath and cleanse myself from the blood in my fur."- Luna said as she headed past her sister.

"I will help you sister I thought that perhaps you were taken from me again when Twilights letter only stated that the dragon problem was resolved."- Celestia said as her horn flared up and the two sisters were teleported to her personal bathroom.

"Sister we are not a foal we can bathe ourselves." - Luna protested in a tone that seemed to clash with her statement.

"I know Luna I simply wish to converse with you so my mind can be set at ease. I would also like to know why you were carrying Night on your back surely you or some of the unicorn guards had enough magic to levitate him." -Celestia said with a unreadable face.

"Very well sister but I would ask that you promise me to be calm until I finish my story."- Luna said sheepishly.

"Of course I would sister why do you think I wouldn't?" Celestia asked in a somewhat confused tone.

"Its just you seem to shelter me from a lot of things since I returned from my banishment."-Luna said sheepishly as she began to prepare her bath. As she said this Celestia's face went even whiter then usual but she kept quiet expecting for further explanation.

{If Night forced himself on her I will chain him up and then pull out his claws and regrow them until he begs for death and then chain him so he cant move and keep him living in darkness until he dies of old age.} As Celestia thought this Luna spoke up.

"Uhm I suppose I should start with Nights training. His magic reserve was laughable so much so that I had to drain him of his magic constantly for a week before he could cast the most basic of spells from the magic he was attuned to."-Luna said with a bit of guilt in her voice.

"Doing such a ting is dangerous. Why did you do it?You could have made him go unstable and hurt you and the guards."- Celestia said in an angry voice.

"I know which is why Night and I shared a tend so I could ensure that his magic remains stable."- As Luna said this Celestia's horn began to glow but before she could use any magic Luna's voice snapped her out of her rage.

"TIA you promised." -Luna shouted in an angry voice. Once Celestia was listening again Luna continued. "I did not do that which I suspect you think sister although I have determined to give Night a chance at courting me."- Luna said in an angry tone.

Luna waited to see her sisters reaction but Celestia's face and body were frozen in place and she seemed like a statue. Luna continued her story a little more confident. As she began washing her fur with water and mane products.

"Night was quite fast to learn control once he had sufficient magic to cast spells he is atoned to physical alteration. I also discovered that Night had guarded me during my sleep."-Luna said with uncertainty.

"You didn't know? He has been doing it since the first night you were back. I almost thought he would attack me the first time I saw it. Perhaps we should confine him to the dungeons until we are certain that he wouldn't actually hurt anypony." Celestia said with some hope in her voice.

"That would not be necessary Celestia I have come to an understanding with Night. So long as no pony attacks him he will not hurt them. Not now that he has saved my life. Besides I can't allow you to imprison him not now that I know my feelings for him."-Luna said in a pleading manner.

"I-I-I did say that I would s-support you in your decision Luna. If you truly believe him I suppose I could give him a chance. Now explain to me why he had to save your life?"- Celestia said tough gritted teeth.

"Because of the dragon of course I had to protect all the guards and the element bearers from an enraged dragon. As I am sure you saw miss Vibrant Arts left wing was missing It took all my power to make sure that nopony died. If it wasn't for Night at least some of our subjects would have died. That is partially why I decided to allow Night to court me. He fought a dragon for me sister and he almost died because of it. He almost died protecting me and asked for noting in return. I know it isn't proper but I owe him this much."-Luna said tears falling from her eyes into the water of her bathtub.

"Calm down sister we can give him a title and everything will be okay so please don't cry. However can you tell me why the elements didn't work? The only reason I send the element bearers and not the guard was because I didn't want to risk the death of our subjects."- Celestia said in a resigned voice.

"Oh that I was meaning to speak to you about it. Apparently they believed you wished them to go and negotiate with the dragon and didn't think they would need the elements. Don't worry I do believe that nearly dying and seeing the mutilated corpse of the dragon thought them the era of their ways but if it wasn't for me and Night the elements would be useless right now. Please exercise caution sister you know as well as I do that its a matter of time before Discord escapes his prison and only the elements can stop him."-Luna said looking disapprovingly at her sister.

"I will for now let us discuss Nights presentation to the nobility." Celestia said attempting to change the subject.

Night was awoken from his sleep by a sharp edge touching his forehead. He awoke in surprise and noticed a paper airplane somehow balanced on his forehaed.

{I guess I finally recieved a reply to my request.} Night thought as he opened the note and read.

"Freedom? Don't we all?

I can't break the bond you share with Luna but I can make it so you can go as far as you wish from her without dieing.

All you'll have to do is ensure my Freedom (well as much as being bound to Celestia's will is).

An equal exchange, your freedom to leave the castle in exchange for mine.

If you agree merely cut your finger and let a drop of your blood fall on the parchment.

Its magic but it will bind you just as much as it will me."

{Well if I can go as far as I can I dont have to worry about Luna or Celestia useing their magic on me. I gues I can just leave I will just get as much of their curency and then go somewhere where they wont find me. That way I won't have to worry about dieing for someone elses cause} With these thoughts Night bit his thumb hard enough that it bled and let a few drops of blood fall on the parchment. As the blood fell on the parchment the paper turned into a pink cloud of smoke before it disapeared and Night heard a strange voice in his mind.

"Don't forget the deal now it will take a while before we meet and I do know that shortlived creatures don't have the best of memory." -As the voice eccoed in his mind Night felt dizzy and fell back into unconsiousness.
