Chapter-38 Night sky[Edited]

Celestia gulped at the memory of her throat being squeezed and then her sister putting a barrier between them.{Yet another grand mess the old traditions got me in. I suppose I should earn Nights trust but I can't allow either Luna or Night to attack my subjects upon awaking.}Celestia thought as she watched the two past out figures.

"Guards take Night Shadow to his chambers and bind him to his bed, make sure the chains are short. I shall take care of my sister." Celestia said with conviction. The guards hesitated but then did as they were told.

As Luna awoke she was met by Celestia's smiling face. Remembering the pain and horror that Night went through and she felt by taking his memories as her own. Luna tried to teleport away but felt her magic simply leave her body without any effect. Then, she tried to back away as much as she could from the terrifying figure. Luna was bound by Celestias mane, her eyes wide as she shivered with fear.

"Calm down sister, what happened? Why are you so afraid of me?" Celestia said in a sad voice. As she did she loosened the hold her mane had over Luna's muzzle.

"Release me." Luna said as she attempted to run magic through her throat only to have Celestia's mane absorb it.

Seeing this Celestia frowned "WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF ME?" { I never thought I would have to do this} Celestia thought as tears escaped her eyes and Luna began speaking.

"You want to torture Night! You want to kill him! I-I saw the horrors you made him experience. I-I never thought thee are capable of such cruelty, Celestia."Luna said in a frightened and cold tone.

"I didn't " Celestia began before Luna cut her off.

"Don't you dare lie to me Celestia I felt his pain trough his memories. " Luna said making Celestia begin sobbing even harder.

"I was afraid sister. He could hurt our ponies and yet we can do nothing to him as it will hurt you. But I swear I did not intentionally torture him." As Celestia said this Luna's slight struggles calmed down a little bit but didn't stop.

"Lies! The horror we saw was too malevolent for it to have been unintended." Luna said accusingly.

"I must know of these memories. I am sorry Luna but I will have you share Night's memories with me." Celesta said as her horn lit up and she touched her horn to Luna's. She had cast an alternate spell then the one her sister had used that would allow her to experience the memories while deserting that they are not her own.

Celestia nearly vomited as her sister had prior, the only thing stopping her was the fact that she had seen similar atrocities during the Griffin wars although not quite as personal as being the one on the receiving end. {This is troubling. I did not intend to give him these visions I merely believed he would die once the bond was broken. Which means Night's sub-consciousness must have come up with the torture. What's even more worrying then the fact that he could come up with such torture and make it feel so real is that look he had with each time I killed him or while I tortured him he looked more and more defiant and tried in every possible way to kill me or escape. I must be on my guard around him and yet I can't show that I clearly distrust him or Luna will drift away from me. Why did he have to appear and drive my sister away from me now that we finally reunited?} As Celestia thought this Luna spoke up.

"What have you done to Night? Did you kill him you monster?!" {I may have been nothing but pain to Josh Rovers, but I will at the least honour his death by making his killer pay.} Luna said in an angry voice the only thing stopping it from breaking the newly placed windows in the room being Celestia's mane absorbing her magic.

"N-No sister Night still lives I promise. T-The visions were not of my design I had merely believed that Night would die once the bond was shattered that combined with my sleep spell caused Night to create a Nightmare of his own. Please Lulu believe me I-I never meant for this to happen." Celestia said trough her tears. Luna was taken aback by the use of her nickname. She had not heard it since she was a foal before her banishment. Memories of her loving sister rushed trough her mind.

"Then take me to him I will decide on whether to forgive you based on his condition. Oh, and sister, why is the night sky up?" Luna said in a stern voice.

"Well um you see uh I wasn't sure when you would awaken not having regained full control of your powers yet. But that's not important right now I am sure you wish to see Night Shadow. Also in light of recent events I have decided to allow you to give him a noble title yourself. Wouldn't he be just so happy from that?" - Celestia said in a hurry trying to change the topic

"This is not over sister we can not have you gracing our subjects with an ugly night sky. It only serves to bring nightmares and unrest to our subjects. But for now take us to Night." Luna said commandingly

With that Celestia's horn lit up and seconds later she and Luna found themselves standing in front of Night's bed. Night was still unconscious and there were 5 short chains binding his neck and other limbs to the bed post along with an additional 10 chains that went around the bed restraining what little movement he would have otherwise. Luna just glared at her sister in a judgemental way.

"Why is he bound? Release him at once I have promised him that he shall not be bound so long as he does not attack those who do not wish to harm him or myself. I do not even wish to think of what he might do if that promise is broken." Luna said in an angry tone. As she did she began undoing the chains with what little magic she had regained.

"I will do it sister don't strain yourself you are still recovering from healing him after almost killing him with your shout." Celestia said as her horn lit up and the chains turned to a water like substance and disappeared before they caused any harm to Night..

"I only bound him because I was uncertain of how he would react to your absence sister and I did not wish to risk the incident with the nurse repeating itself."

"I seem to remember that incident being caused by the chains Celestia. So in the future please refrain from doing this again. It's hard enough to convey my feelings without your interferences." Luna said slightly blushing.

"You have not conveyed your feelings? But you allowed him to court you. Surely he understands what that means." Celestia said in a disbelieving tone.

"Well n-no apparently he is just as new to this as we are. Even worse he has never showed any interest in romance novels as I have which means he is even more unprepared then me. Given the fact that he restrained himself from lashing out or running away from you after those visions thou I think its safe to assume his feeling for me are genuine." Luna said a bit sheepishly.

"Yes I can't alter those memories for you Luna as your magic power will eventually regenerate and break my spell but I could make it so he never experienced it." Celestia said as her horn began to glow.

"NO. if he wishes it I will erase the memories but I would not do it or let you do it without his permission. I did promise him that magic shall not be used against him unless he wishes it or is necessary as a way of gaining his trust. As horrid as those memories are they are his and it should be him who decides what to do with them." Luna said in a stern voice

"But sister what if he attacks me again? What if he doesn't forgive me?" Celestia asked pleadingly.

"Well you will have to find a way to make it up to him. And if he attacks you again without you using your magic on him or pointing a weapon at him I would personally ensure that he doesn't do it again with whatever means necessary." Luna said in a tone that would stand for no arguing.

Luna then walked to the sole window in the room and looked at the night sky. Celestia attempted to back out of the room not trying to teleport as that would trying her sister's attention on her.

"Now as for the night sky I do believe that there are 248 stars that are glowing too dimly and 1782 that are too bright as well as the moon being turned in such a way that its only 90% full. Your punishment for doing this yet again Celestia will be to fix it even if it takes the whole night. Under my supervision of course.

"But sister you must rest and there is day court." -Celestia began to argue but stopped as she saw her sisters glare. It was the glare that she had seen in Night Shadows eyes the day he defeated Blue Blood.

"This is important if you are to ever butcher the night sky again I will not forgive you. Sleep during day court if you must but make sure to remember my instructions should you ever need to raise the moon in my absence again." Luna said as she walked past Celestia and exited Night Shadows room.
