It was a beautiful morning in Ponyville, with the birds settling on the trees and roofs of buildings, hoping to claim a few more minutes of sleep before they needed to start their busy days, and just as they began to shut their eyes, a loud scream of horror echoed throughout the entire town, the birds began to fly off in fear, hoping that whatever this scream belonged to wasn't a predator, but it was the voice of a pony who had been struck down in her own home.

Ponies and creatures surrounded the building, the home and workplace of Rarity. Inside were several Marines, and guards, as well as five of the Mane Six, Sonic, Jenny, and the twins.

"Seems like a quick clean murder... No blood, no signs of injury... Must have been quick..." A guard said, as doctors checked Rarity for any signs of life, they approached the guards.

"This case just got a bit more complicated... It wasn't a murder. She's only fainted... This was a robbery." The Doctor said, to which the guards began to laugh.

"How do you know she just didn't see a mouse and faint?" One asked, but the doctor rolled his eyes before holding out a note.

"Hai! I be stealing all ur gemz now! Plz don't call teh guardz. I thankz u. #GETREKT! From, da thief."

The guard sighed and quickly explained the situation to the crowd outside. However to Dipper it didn't make any sense.

"Why did she faint?" Dipper asked, but was soon given an explanation by Rarity's little sister.

"Rarity loves gems. She always uses them in her dresses. Once she noticed they were gone she freaked out." Sweetie Belle explained.

"Dipper. You know what this is a case for?" Mabel began to ask, Dipper smiled and they bumped fists.

"MYSTERY TWINS!" They shouted at the same time, but Sonic shook his head.

"Sorry guys. Not this time." Sonic said, but Pinkie ran forward.

"Ooh! I can watch over them! I'll make sure they don't get into trouble! Please! Please! Please!" Pinkie shouted, getting really close to Sonic.

"Fine! Just give me some room! Ok?" Sonic asked, and Pinkie let out a yell of pure joy.

"You here that guys!? We're the Mystery Trio!" Pinkie shouted, she reached into her mane and pulled out three objects, one was an old fashioned detective hat, another was a large magnifying glass, the final object was a pipe. Pinkie popped the pipe into her mouth, but instead of smoke rising from the top, bubbles floated upwards. Dipper looked at Sonic who shrugged.

"Don't question Pinkie Pie." Sonic said, but he let out a quick laugh upon seeing Pinkie had placed on a fake mustache.

"What seems like a regular Earth Pony, is actually a detective and a master of disguise!" Pinkie shouted, but Dipper pulled the fake mustache off. "OW!" Pinkie shouted, rubbing at her upper lip, but then began to smile. "Ooh... So smooth..." She said with a smile. Dipper couldn't believe that Sonic was going to allow them to watch over them, but Sonic did know her more than they did.

"Dipper, Pinkie, let's get going!" Mabel shouted, running towards the door and slamming into the glass door that she didn't see. "I meant to do that!" Mabel yelled, before opening the door and running out it. Pinkie giggled and began to bounce after her, while Dipper brought up the rear.

"Do we have any suspects?" Mabel asked, but Pinkie shook her head.

"OH! I guess we could check the Diamond Dogs." Pinkie said, lifting Mabel onto her back. "Let's go piggy back style!" Pinkie shouted, and Mabel let out a cheer of joy, while Dipper struggled to keep up.

"Guys...! Slow...! Down...!" Dipper yelled, between heavy breaths. However the two didn't hear him as they charged off towards the nearest mine where the Diamond Dogs lurked.

Dipper was covered in sweat when he finally found the two waiting for him. Pinkie held a glass pitcher of lemonade and poured Mabel a glass, before pouring herself a glass. Pinkie noticed Dipper and waved.

"HEY! You finally caught up! You look tired, maybe you need a nice cold glass of lemonade!" Pinkie said, but Dipper grabbed the entire pitcher and began to chug the contents. He felt the cold beverage flow down his throat and cool him down, he stopped and poured the remaining amount on his head, but then realized his mistake as he found himself sticky.

"Oh man..." Dipper muttered, but he felt a washcloth press against his face. Pinkie began to scrub his face and stopped when Dipper pushed her hands away. "Stop it! I'm fine!" Dipper shouted, and Pinkie gave him a soft smile.

"There. Now do you feel better?" She asked, and Dipper found himself smile before he nodded. Mabel laughed and pointed in one of the holes.

"There's some weird dog thing in there." Mabel said, her braces shone in the sunlight and the reflected light hit one of the dogs in the eyes. It looked up at them and Mabel's smile faded. "Uh-Oh..." Mabel muttered as the dogs began to growl and prepared to attack.

Mabel, Dipper, and Pinkie ran from the angry pack of Diamond Dogs who chased them with claws and clubs ready. Pinkie reached into her mane and pulled out a strange looking cupcake.

"What is that?" Dipper asked, but Pinkie didn't respond. Instead she pulled the cherry off the cake and threw it behind her, the dogs stopped and stared at the attempt before the cupcake exploded, showering them in frosting.

"Frosting grenade!" Mabel shouted, she began to laugh as the dogs left in annoyance.

"Well that got us nowhere..." Dipper muttered, but noticed a strange figure in a cloak. It began to move into the Everfree forest and Dipper began to chase it, confusing Mabel and Pinkie. "HEY YOU!" Dipper yelled, but the figure broke into a run. "Stop!" Dipper yelled, but the figure moved onwards until it entered a small hut. Dipper managed to slip inside and confronted it. "I've got some questions for you!" Dipper yelled.

"Leave now, you are not welcome here! Leave now, or be forced to by fear!" The figure yelled, with a voice that was clearly female.

"Not until you answer my questions!" Dipper yelled back, but the figure took a step forward, which made him realize that he was only a kid.

"You are either very brave... Or have a wish to go to the grave." She said, but Dipper stood his ground.

"All I want are some questions answered!" Dipper shouted, and the figure took another step towards him.

"Dipper!" Pinkie shouted, which made the figure stop.

"Pinkie Pie, is that you? A visit is long past due." The figure said, and Pinkie entered the building.

"Zecora, I'm sorry Dipper chased you. He must have thought you were some kind of bad guy." Pinkie said, while the figure pulled down her hood. The figure was a zebra, with a short mane that resembled a Mohawk.

"So you two know each other?" Dipper asked, and Zecora nodded. "Oh... I'm sorry... I thought you might have been the thief..." Dipper said, scratching the back of his head. Zecora smiled.

"A friend of Pinkie's is a friend of mine. It is nearly noon, would you care to dine?" Zecora asked, motioning towards a table.

"No thanks. We need to find out who stole Rarity's jewels." Mabel said, and Zecora nodded before sending them off.

They noticed something heading for them at a high speed, and Sonic skidded to a stop in front of them. "Hey guys... Turns out there was no thief..." Sonic muttered, but it made no sense.

"What about the gems... And the note?" Mabel asked, but Sonic gave a nervous chuckle.

"She moved them without remembering, as for the note, that was a prop from an old play... Weird message that was written on that... We should probably head home. Come on." Sonic said, but watched as they raised their hands towards the sky.

"MYSTERY TRIO!"
