A Tale of Many Worlds

Dipper and Mabel moved around the colorful town, they had Sonic nearby to supervise but what they saw was a large melting pot of different races and species. There were the horse/human hybrid creatures, to which Sonic said were called Ponies, there were animals like Sonic, there were humans wearing heavy blue armor with large guns in hands. What struck Dipper as odd was that a group of them were blocking off an area of the town, there was a purple substance covering the ground. Before Dipper could investigate he noticed something else strange, there was a Pony staring at them, her pink mane was poofy and she wore a blue and white striped dress. She began to inhale and started floating above the ground a few inches. She suddenly zipped off and left Dipper standing there confused.

"DIPPER! YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!" Mabel shouted. Dipper turned to face Mabel who had her faced pressed against the window of a shop. He moved next to her and saw what had captivated his sister. Inside was a large display of cakes, fudge, and other assortments of delicious looking treats.

"You guys want me to buy something?" Sonic asked, startling the two.

"No, you don't have to do that. We're fine." Dipper replied, but Mabel was tugging on Sonic's arm trying to pull him inside.

"C'mon Dipper. My treat." Sonic said, and Dipper looked back at the desserts that lined the shelves.

"Well... Since you're offering..." Dipper moved and followed Sonic inside, the twins were quickly greeted with a face that Dipper recognized. The pink Pony stood behind the counter, she smiled and waved at Sonic before she noticed them.

"Oh! C'mere!" She shouted, and the twins approached cautiously.

"Yes? Did you need something?" Dipper asked, but she reached into her mane and pulled out two sealed envelopes.

"These are for you!" She happily said, and the twins began to open them. Inside were two pink cards, and handwritten on the front were large letters.

You're Invited! The two words confused Dipper, who looked up, but she pointed at the card again. This time Dipper opened it, and found more inside. I hope that you'll come and enjoy the party tonight at six! Dipper looked up confused and before he could ask, she began to shout.

"I bet you're curious as to what this is, and I'll tell you, so don't worry! First of all my name is Pinkamena Diane Pie, but my friends call me Pinkie or Pinkie Pie! Now back to the card, the party that it mentions is your party! Before you ask what party it's your Welcome to Ponyville party!" Pinkie shouted happily, but Dipper was still confused.

"She throws parties for everyone, for any occasion, at any time, whether they want it or not." Sonic explained, before being handed a couple paper sacks. "Here, I got you guys a couple things. A cupcake, some fudge, a donut. Just enjoy it." Sonic said with a smile. The twins began to snack while they explored the rest of the town. They found themselves at a stand with a few apple placed on it.

"Howdy. I ain't seen you 'round here before." A voice with a southern accent spoke. They turned to face the owner of the voice and there was an orange pony. She had a blonde mane and tail, and had green eyes. She wore a short shirt that cut off just above her stomach and a pair of jean shorts, finally she wore a tan cowboy hat.

"Yeah... We just got here... I'm Dipper and this is my twin Mabel." Dipper introduced the two of them, and the pony smiled before reaching out her hand.

"Nice to meet yah. Name's Applejack. I work and live down at Sweet Apple Acres, me an' the rest of my family work there. If yer ever in the neighborhood, don't feel shy and stop in tah say hello." Applejack said, she shook Mabel's hand then moved to Dipper who let out a quick gasp of pain, she was squeezing his hand very tightly.

"Firm handshake you got there..." Dipper muttered. Applejack bent over to be eye level with the twins, but this also attracted a few stallions who stopped and stared.

"You two wouldn't happen tah be the kids that Sonic an' Fluttershy took in, would yah?" She asked, before reaching over Dipper's head, grabbing an apple, turning around and throwing it at one of the stallions, hitting him straight in the nose. "Don't yall know that it's rude tah stare!" She asked, and the stallions quickly dispersed.

"Yeah actually we are... Why?" Mabel asked.

"Well then, if yah hang around them a lot, you'll probably see me often. You should really meet the others. There's me, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight. If yah see em' then tell 'em I sent yah!" Applejack said as the twins left waving.

"She seems nice." Mabel said, but she looked at Dipper meaning she wasn't looking where she was walking. Mabel bumped into something and fell onto her rear. She looked up at the large black metal that formed a human like body. The thing turned to face her and she saw an orange visor with a skull painted on it. Dipper pulled Mabel onto her feet and the two looked in fear as the visor retracted, the twins gasped in anticipation of the monster showing its face. When the visor was gone, they saw the hardened and older features of a man. His black hair and facial hair were getting some gray in them, his brown eyes seemed to have a certain sense of adventure to them.

"You two all right? Neither of yah are hurt now?" The man asked, and the twins shook their heads. "Good. Never seen you here before. I'm James Raynor." The man said, which seemed to calm the twins down.

"Well Mr. Raynor..." Dipper began, but he was cut off.

"Please, Mr. Raynor was my father. Call me Jim." Dipper began to speak again.

"Well... Jim... I'm Dipper and this is my twin Mabel... If you don't mind me asking, what are you wearing? Why are you cutting off this area?" Dipper asked, noticing the ring of blue colored soldiers behind Jim.

"This? Why this is my combat suit. As for what we're doing... I think you'll need to spend a little more time here in town first." Jim said, before the visor covered his face again. Jim moved towards the cluster of soldiers who didn't move from the circle.

"So now what should we check out?" Mabel asked, but Dipper shrugged. The twins were about to try and find Sonic, when they noticed something shoot past them. Whatever it was left a trail that shone in the colors of a rainbow. Dipper was just shocked while Mabel smiled from ear to ear. She let out a happy squeak before passing out. Dipper rolled his eyes before starting to drag his sister back to Fluttershy's home.
