I Draw a Pink Horse (Part 1)
Page's POV
My eyes slowly opened, and I saw the vanilla ceiling. I rubbed my eyes. My eyes fell upon the clock. It was 6:23. I groaned, putting a pillow on my face. At least a minute passed before I lifted the pillow off my face. Well, at least I can hang to the treehouse without anyone looking for me. I stepped out of my bed, stretching my arms and back as I walked towards my dresser. I put on a pale, sky blue tank top and some skinny jeans. As I stepped outside, I felt a slight change in the wind. It was colder and stronger than usual, but I promptly ignored it. I guess it's just a really windy day. I ran to the ladder, my hands reaching for the 4th peg. I climbed slowly, the wind blowing through my hair. I finally reached to top, tripping on a book and landing on the other side of the treehouse. I shivered in delight. It's really cold out there. REALLY cold. I grabbed the emerald green book I had tripped over and opened it to a new page. The lead of my pencil danced along the paper, making small swirls and scribbles I probably would not look at again. My eyes fell upon a small horse I had made. It was very cartoonish, with rounded hooves and muzzle, but it was a start. I added a cotton candy-like mane and tail, filled with curls. Then I realized, I forgot the eyes. I had to think for a moment on that, wondering what kind of eyes the horse would have. I decided on anime eyes, it matched the happy disposition that the horse seemed to look like. Once again, my pencil hit the paper, quickly drawing eyes. When I finished, I was surprised. The eyes looked way different from when I imagined them in my head. I shrugged. It makes her look cute anyway.
My eyes peered at the tall trees outside, the wind blowing through the leaves. For a moment, some of the leaves fell off the tree, being picked up by the cold breeze. I looked back at my horse drawing, thinking Now, where would this horse live? It seems too innocent to live in our world, so where? I thought about that for a very long time. Suddenly, I started drawing again, my thoughts and dreams and hopes pouring out onto the white page. When I was done, I watched the page. There were strange, beautiful trees surrounding the mare. I blinked. This needs......color. I swiftly bounced down the ladder, running back inside my house. I grabbed a stash of colored pencils I had hidden among a pile of books, then ran back downstairs. I stopped at the back door, stepping back outside to feel the cold breeze on my face. I paced to the ladder, her legs swinging as I climbed. I finally reached the treehouse entrance, with pencils in hand. I sat down, dropping the colored pencils. I looked at the drawing once more. Well, I should color the horse pink, I did base her mane on cotton candy, so it makes sense. My hand grasped a pink pencil. The tip planted itself on the paper, adding color as I drew. Soon I picked more pencils, coloring in the background. When I was finished, I stared at the artwork. I could feel myself immersed into the world I created. I could feel the cold air blow through the strange green trees. Then I realized I was daydreaming. I shook my head, placing the book on the ground.
Sighing, I said "I wish I could go there."
The wind began to blow harder, my untouched skin freezing from the air. A faint glow was coming from the book. I swiftly stood up, starting to move away from the accursed pages. A sudden flash of bright white light made me close my eyes. I sat down, scared I would fall over without my sight. Then the light was gone. I opened my eyes, the book was still there.
"Weird.." I say, going back to the house. As I pack my lunch for school today, I wonder What was that thing anyway? Is my book magic? No, there has to be an explanation...maybe my brother set it up as a prank? Even that doesn't make sense! I groan. I DRAW A PINK HORSE, AND SOMETHING WEIRD HAPPENS! WHAT THE WHAT?

I Kick Someone's Butt (Part 2)
As I walked to school, my spirits were definitely high. That was before I realized my backpack was a bit heavier than usual. I stopped, taking my backpack from my achy shoulders and set it down on the firm concrete. Unzipping my backpack, I found the book from this morning. How the heck did that get there? I shrugged it off. Weird things are already happening, why should this be any different? Still, my thoughts were beginning to swirl through my head as I put my backpack on my back again.
I finally reached the school, and could easily spot my friend Mara leaning on the wall. I waved to them as I walked over. "Hey Page! I finally watched that video that some of the school likes!" she called out. I quickly recognized the thumbnail. "That one with the ponies in it?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. Mara responded "Well, yeah, but it's not as weird as you thought! There's this Pinkie Pi-" she stops, a smile on her freckled face. "Sorry Page, I forgot you hate spoilers." I sighed and shook my head. "We should get to our classes." I informed. We said farewell and I went straight to my English class. Usually, I enjoy reading, but I have the most egotistical girl in 8th grade: Lucy.
Lucy was the 'big cheese' in our school's popular group. She's basically a attention hog. If you mess with her, you get stuck in a 6th grader's locker. Jenifer Shag learned THAT the hard way! Enough about Lucy though, this story's about me! (Yes readers, I broke the fourth wall.) Anyways...
We were all reading silently, until Lucy interuppted "This is an awkward silence, am I right?" Her cronies and half the class giggled at that. The teacher shushed them, and class continued as normal. Lucy's group was still snickering in the corner at their own jokes.
Lunch came around in what felt like seconds. Mara and I grabbed our lunchboxes and sat at one of the less crowded tables. Mara broke the silence of us eating. "Hey Page, remember when I liked that pony video?" I responded in curiousity " Of course I do. Why do you ask?" Mara stuttered "W-well it was an un-understatement.", she leaned in closer to me, " I loved it." I almost wanted to scream 'WHAT!', but I instead questioned "So you're a fan of this pony show?" She nodded. My mouth dropped in a whirlwind of emotions, before accepting my friend's new interest. We shared a quick hug before I heard another voice join the conversation. " Dear me, Mara's finally a real loser? Now I actually have a reason to laugh!"
Mara attempted to stand up for herself, responding "Lucy, we can agree to disagree, ok?" Lucy laughed. "How about...no?" Her cronies laughed in reply to Lucy's answer. I saw Mara tearing up, her head on the table. I hit the table with my arm. That's it! I have tolerated Lucy for far too long now! Sure, Lucy has teased Mara for stupid things before, but this....THIS IS THE LAST STRAW! "Lucy, back off. What has Mara ever done to you?" Lucy's jaw dropped, as the whole cafeteria went silent. No one stood up to Lucy, and those who did stopped soon enough. "What did you say to me?" Most of the girls in the room looked at me, including Mara. Her freckled tear-streaken face held a faint smile that encouraged me to keep going. "I said 'What has Mara ever done to you?"' I repeated to Lucy. Lucy opened her mouth to reply, but was interuppted by the bell for next period. Saved by the bell, literally!
For the rest of the day, Lucy was quiet. However, word quickly around the school about how I stood up to her. Some of the boys would high five me in the hallways. With the way things were going, the girls would surely congratulate me for kicking Lucy's butt. Mara was over the moon after lunch. I guess helping her out
really made her day. As cheesy as it sounds, it made mine too.
But there was no time to waste after school when a new problem arose.

This is Getting Weird..(Part 3)
It was glowing again, after almost 6 hours. You could easily hear a buzz coming from my backpack. "Page, I thought you didn't have a phone!" Lucy exclaimed. I mentally sighed in relief. She doesn't suspect anything!
"Oh, well, I'm borrowing one of my mom's old phones. You just, in case of an emergency." I responded smoothly. The buzz coming from the backpack signaled me to hurry up. "She must need me for something important now! I'll see you tomorrow!" I shouted quickly, carrying my backpack and running as fast as possible on the paved sidewalk. Lucky for me, my house was a few blocks away. As I stepped inside my house, the scent of cookies enveloped me. Mom's an artist, just like me, except she excells in the cooking area. Of course, she likes to experiment, which can lead to gross food with a side of almost death. I know how she works though, and I'd normally eat it anyway. Today though, I'm heading straight to the treehouse.
I quickly wave at my mom before running into the backyard. She looks so happy, I can't ruin her day by confirmimg possible insanity. Grabbing the ladder, I pull myself up along with my backpack. The pressure and weight of the school papers fall away as I quickly grab the glowing book. I shake it hard. "What are you trying to say?" I shout at the book, and throw it on the wooden floor. I quietly huff, crouching down to pick it up. That's when I notice a page is loose. I set the book down, and open it to the peeking page. It's the pony drawing I made this morning. What does a pink horse have to do with glowing? My fingers barely touch the drawing when the glow returns brighter than ever. It's getting too bright for my eyes. I quickly close the book, and light dims. *Now I won't be blind. *
