Rainbow Heart 3

After the firsthoof accounts of Peaceful Memories and Roadkill, the group went and investigated The Great Fortress. Now the only three ponies that were still missing were as follows: Tracker, Stone Cold, and Oopsy Daisy. It wasn’t long before they found the bodies of all three of them. Stone Cold and Oopsy Daisy were together in the kitchen area.

Princess Celestia used a spell to view what happened. Her horn touched the pony on the chest and she had flashbacks of their memories. Like watching a movie, she fast forward to the important parts from time to time, skipping over some of the more useless stuff. Stone Cold and Oopsy Daisy, the two ponies were lovers. They were abducted while having a picnic near Ponyville. Rainbow Heart did these before his transformation into Rainbow Moon. Their deaths were not pleasant to say the least.

Celestia saw Rainbow Heart talking to the Stone Cold who had just woken up. Stone Cold was a male and a pegasus.

Rainbow Heart said, “…You killed ponies by authorization from Cloudsdale, even though they were only criminals that were sentenced and put to death, this is still wrong. You work at a facility that kills ponies for your own kind’s survival. You claim that it’s just to make money and to provide for your significant other, but secretly deep down you enjoy it. Then you became callus and cold to it like water frozen into ice. You slaughter ponies like cattle…”

With another fast forward jolt, Celestia saw Rainbow Heart cut the front right hoof off, and then in a while Stone Cold removing his rear right hoof. They were bound by barbed wire in a masterpiece of artwork display. After that, Stone Cold tried to leave through the exit way without any rage. Stone Cold could barely walk do to both amputations being on the same side. Stone Cold did not attack Rainbow Heart, which would have activated the trap. Rainbow Heart angrily summoned orange tentacles to drag and bring Stone Cold over the trap, which was hidden under a rug from the fortress. Stone Cold obviously resisted, but it was in vain. This resulted in the secondary trap activating and death. A saw blade came up from the ground like a large tree circular blade that cuts wood into lumber. The blade cut the pony from the lower back to the throat. Rainbow Hearts tentacle’s then dressed out, eviscerated, and gutted the pony like a deer. Stone Cold died momentarily.

Rainbow Heart enraged shouted, “Fuck! I don’t know what went wrong! This must not happen again!”

Stone Cold had been killed in the dungeon. Rainbow Heart then proceeded to take Stone Cold and the pieces of him and relocated him from the premises to the kitchen. Clearly he didn’t want Double Rainbow to find out what he did.

Stone Cold was the first killed. Rainbow Heart did the trap in the same method as Double Rainbow. Stone Cold would have survived the trap, based on Double Rainbow’s formula. That was until Rainbow Heart killed him when Stone Cold clearly had followed the conditions. It was clear to Celestia that Stone Cold had a lover to think about and did not care about a personal vendetta or revenge. The only thing Stone Cold cared about was Oopsy Daisy’s best interests. Celestia also checked Oopsy Daisy. This does explains the double trap method Rainbow Heart employed on his lover, the true culprit of Rainbow Heart’s earlier demise. This also explains why he changed from cutting off hooves from the same side of the body and to a diagonal pattern, so that the pony was be able to walk better. The knife appeared to be a hunter’s knife, which was not Double Rainbow’s Knife. Double Rainbow’s knife was highly ornamental and also came with a yin and yang symbol on it.

Celestia saw Rainbow Heart talking to the Oopsy Daisy who had just woken up. Oopsy Daisy was a female unicorn.

Rainbow Heart said, “…You caused a catastrophe in a town now called Death Town, but it was formally known as Bucktown. It contained beautiful buildings such as Dream Castle, Paradise Estate, the Grand Equestrian Lighthouse, and The Rainbow Spa. Scores of ponies died. Many lived but only you know the truth. You were the one who caused the accident and kept quiet about it knowing that they would never be able to determine who did it. Now it is a ghost town. You were the one that started the fire, the flames consuming all. You were passionate about nature, respecting it and honoring it. You stared the fire in an attempt to stop new construction that would have taken the souls of trees and forcing animals to leave their homes. But what you didn’t know was that it would spread like a wildfire destroying everything…”

With another fast forward jolt, Celestia saw Rainbow Heart cut the front left hoof and then Oopsy Daisy had to sever the rear right hoof. They were bound by barbed wire in an intricate design. After that, Oopsy Daisy tried to leave through the exit way without any rage. Like Stone Cold, she did not attack Rainbow Heart. No doubt because she was focused on the love of her life and not the misery she was in. With two traps, one on each side, they were both hidden under rugs from the fortress. One trap was between the pony and Rainbow Heart in case he was attacked and the other was between the pony and the exit, so that if the pony tried to leave. This was murder plain and simple. This resulted in the secondary trap activating and death. Hooks were activated by the trap which tore the skin and hide completely ripping it off of her body in one big piece while she was still alive. Her muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones were showing. Death was shortly afterwards.

Oopsy Daisy had been killed in the dungeon and her body with the parts had been removed to the kitchen, so Rainbow Heart could keep an eye on them. There, in the kitchen, Rainbow Heart’s tentacles then tended to her body, preparing it for a delicacy’s he was going to make out of it. It was Oopsy Daisy’s blood and flesh that were used for Rainbow Heart’s Ponffee. It appeared that Rainbow Heart’s Knife, the one that resembled a hunter’s knife, was ceremonially stored in Double Rainbow’s Urn and buried at Double Rainbow’s grave in what used to be his coffin under his tombstone.

The question was why these two? Additional historical information Celestia saw from her flashbacks. It was because of Stone Cold, Rainbow Heart felt victimized through him and the need to silence him. In the past in Bucktown, Stone Cold was Rainbow Heart’s number one client for happy endings. Stone Cold made Rainbow Heart’s business profitable, keeping his secrets, while Oopsy Daisy had destroyed it with her ignorance.

They ventured down into the dungeon, since the other two had been killed down there. Down in the dungeon they found Tracker also dead. Celestia checked Tracker.

Tracker’s death must have been done after Rainbow Heart’s transformation to Rainbow Moon. It was the same double trap method employed on Oopsy Daisy. Rainbow Heart didn’t want to reform them, he wanted to murder them to keep the secrets hidden, meaning these traps were different than Double Rainbow’s. Celestia witnessed what Tracker had witnessed. In regards to Tracker, he was a witness that needed to be eliminated.

There was a strange symbol written on the wall. The design specifics of it were as follows. Drawn In blood was a circle. Within the circle was a pyramid with three horns one on each side or it and one from the point of it all in blood. Then drawn in black permanent marker was a sun and moon on each side of the pyramid at the same level. Drawn in chalk below the pyramid was an equal sign and above it was a squiggly line meaning water.

Princess Twilight asked, “What is that? What dies it mean?”

Celestia interpreted, “It means in ancient pony, ‘balance must be restored.’”

Celestia had a pretty good idea what was going on. Rainbow Heart killed two ponies one who wronged him and one that knew all his dirty secrets. He had also killed Tracker to finish Double Rainbow’s mission. Now what was Rainbow Heart, or Rainbow Moon, going to do? Additionally, he always had made the victims lose one front hoof and one back hoof, making it near impossible to run away and escape, but also separating his crimes from Double Rainbow’s. Double Rainbow and Rainbow Heart, their modus operandi were different, making the differences between the two as clear as daylight.

In regards to Double Rainbow’s traps, all of the traps after the third death were the same. The only pony who didn’t have his hooves bound while having to cut off a part of their body was Drop Zone, the first victim to Double Rainbow. The second trap was different than the others too. Cookie Dough had to remove both body parts before his hooves would be freed, which is why he had to use magic and couldn’t use his hooves when he had to cut himself free of the device. Double Rainbow was trying to perfect the process. After that, all ponies had two of their hooves bound which were attached to the room in some fashion when they had to remove their two body parts, which were also connected to the same barbed wire and would release tension on the hooves once one of the parts were severed. The exception to that rule was unless it was just the hooves themselves that were to be sacrificed, in which case it was either both the front hooves or both the back hooves. Then it was the hooves that were bound and secured to a decorative web of barbed wire to a surface of the room somewhere. All of the traps were overly decorated with barbed wire for show and effect.

Things were beginning to make sense. The investigation concluded that although Rainbow Heart’s attempts were similar to the rest, the victims were leaving and exiting. They should have survived these traps. They had succeeded where the others had failed in Double Rainbow’s devices. This was mainly due to the victims who were selected by Rainbow Heart.

It also appeared that Rainbow Heart’s derangement only came in waves and he was pretending to be sick the rest of the time. Rainbow Heart must have done these things while Double Rainbow was away performing his own crimes, trying to be like his lover. However, Rainbow Heart may have still been suffering from his afflictions while performing these traps, so he may not have been entirely in his stable mind.

Rainbow Heart had apparently lied when he said Double Rainbow brought the one pony corpse home. It was Rainbow Heart who had performed that act.

So he killed three ponies. The key to figuring this out was Tracker’s Trap with two traps. Princess Celestia was on to Rainbow Moon’s game.
