The Werepony

The news of Double Rainbow being alive and not in zombie form sent shockwaves throughout Equestria, but also explained the Double Rainbow style trap found in Bucktown. The alicorns deduced that it must have been 1 who gave Double Rainbow life before Double Rainbow killed him in a death trap. The alicorns immediately ordered for the six Element of Disharmony wears to find him and defeat the powerful Double Rainbow. It was ordered to bring him in alive or otherwise. It was believed that The Great Fortress, Double Rainbow’s former headquarters, would be the best place to look for Double Rainbow’s Lair. Night Wish and Night Wing went along with.

They found Double Rainbow there and a great battle ensured. Not even Discord with his powerful chaos magic could subdue the ultimate power of Double Rainbow. Of course it didn’t help that the group had not actually practiced working as a team while combating an enemy, which aided to their failure at the battle. Once the others were wore down, the battle turned to Double Rainbow and myself, Rainbow Heart. Two former lovers were about to fight each other. We starred each other down. In a moment, I was the one who started the fight by using a horn blast from my horn like a bullet. Of course, it was foolish for me to pick a fight with him. The conclusion ended the expected way. I, defeated, was knocked to the ground and unable to fight anymore. Double Rainbow loomed over me standing on his rear hooves. Using his special knife, Double Rainbow cut off Rainbow Heart’s horn.

Night Wing, witnessing the event from the air swooped down to tackle Double Rainbow. It was then Double Rainbow using magic, jammed my severed horn deep into Night Wing’s heart, stooping the attack and killing Night Wing.

Night Wish told Princess Luna to change the phase of the moon to a full moon.

Luna asked, “What? Why?”

Night Wish shouted, “Trust me.”

Princess Luna used her magic to change the moon from a crescent moon to a full moon. It was then Rainbow Heart changed into the werewolf. As a result, Rainbow Heart recovered of his injuries and was back in the game. Werewolf Rainbow Heart bit down on Double Rainbow’s front right hoof and whipped his head back and forth like a dog playing with a rope bone. With his other hoof, Double Rainbow beat the werepony on his head, resulting in the werewolf whimpering in pain. They continued to fight.

Double Rainbow said, knowing what was about to happen next said, “Death comes to evil ponies.”

Rainbow Heart in wolf form jumped up and bit Double Rainbow’s neck and tore out the flesh. Werewolf Rainbow Heart roared in victory. After the fatal strike, still looming over Double Rainbow’s lifeless body, Werewolf Rainbow Heart howled at the full moon.

Princess Luna returned the moon to its crescent shape and Rainbow Heart returned to his pony form. I wasn’t worried about my horn, it would grow back in time. I picked up Double Rainbow’s Knife and sheathed it in my brown saddle. My attention turned to the deceased Night Wing. Tears came to my eyes as I clutched the lifeless mass.

It was clear to me now, why I was the pony chosen for the Element of Tragedy. I would always be alone and without a permanent mate. My life was to be lived in sadness and unloved forever. No doubt tragedy was my life and it was the real curse that I would never be cured of.

Unknown to the ponies at The Great Fortress, Double Rainbow’s followers remained at large protected by secrecy. All of the ponies thought that Double Rainbow acted alone. In reality, the survivors of Ponytopia, his chosen followers, were already planning on which evil pony should face justice first. Double Rainbow had already told them, that he would be killed soon by his ex lover, and that they would have to continue his work.
