Manehattan, years ago
I, Ray Tess, woke up from my nap. Okay it wasn't really a nap, I had just fallen asleep reading my favorite book "Rescue from Midnight castle". Suddenly, I heard a voice call out:
"C'mon Ray, or were gonna be late for the Oranges dinner party!".
It was my big sister Wysteria. "Coming!" I quickly responded. The Oranges were hosting a dinner party to celebrate the arrival of their niece, Applejack, who had just moved in with them from Ponyville. Because it was a formal occasion, I slipped on a black tuxedo with a red shirt underneath. Wysteria was wearing a short pink dress, that ended right before her cutie mark. On the way there I heard a voice in my head say 'I hope the new girl is cute' 'NEVAH!!!!'.
When we got there, I realized that I didn't like any of the fancy foods they were serving. Wysteria had prepared for this however, and had packed me a salad. I wasn't really listening to the conversation all that much, so I didn't realize that the new girl was talking.
"-until the roosters wake you up in the morning" she said (or, at least, that was the part of the sentence that I heard). She talked with a thick accent, but not the kind you would expect a farmgirl to have. <10 bits says she's faking it> 'you're on, bud'.
"And what is a rooster?" said one of the (for lack of a better word) snobs.
They all stared at her strangely.
Then, I saved the day by blurting out "A rooster is a type of bird that let's out a large yell when the sun rises. Sort of like a natural alarm clock.".
A couple of the snobs just stared at me. Applejack gave me a smile. I gave her a big, toothy grin in return. It was sort of an awkward grin, considering I had a tooth missing on the top row and a really sharp tooth on the bottom row. 'You realize you look like an idiot, right?' 'nuh-uh, I don't think so.'.
After dinner, when I was about to leave, she stopped me.
"Hello there mister... uh" she started
"Ray Tess, and you can stop with the fake accent now." I replied. She then started talking in the western accent I expected her to have in the first place "How did you... oh, yer good" 'Sorry, I'm just a voice in your head, I don't have any physical money' . She then continued "Mah names..."
"Applejack" I finished. "Your Aunt and Uncle wrote it in the party invitations, as well as introduced you at the beggining of the party."
"A smarty pants huh, and ya'll didn't even look like ya were paying any attention."
"I sorta wasn't, but hey, I'm full of surprises."
"Follow me"
"Hold on a second." I told her, then turned to Wysteria. "Wysteria, can I go with Applejack?" I asked.
"'Kay lil' bro, you can go with your little marefriend".
I flinched when she said that, and I gave her an evil stare. However, I did see Applejack blushing out of the corner of my eye. 'Woo, 10 points' 'And I thought I told you NEVAH!!!'
She led me to a room and opened the door. Something clicked in my brain and I realized that this was her room. 'WHOA NELLY!' 'Aww, hate is such a strong word buddy!'.
I just gave her a blank stare.
She caught on to what I was thinking "Oh, no, it's nothing like that.".
"phew" I said, just before we burst out laughing.
Applejack was sitting at the windowsill, from where she could see Sweet apple acres far off in the distance.
I trotted up beside her "Nice view".
"I've only been here a day and I already miss home" she said, then looked down in sadness.
Just then, I noticed something colorful in the skies " Well, there's your calling card".
She looked up and saw what I was talking about "A rainbow".
"And it leads to sweet apple acres" I added.
"You mean it leads home" she corrected. I smiled , but then she said " No, ah can't. I didn't have many friends back in ponyville, Ah can get used to this place, ah just need time."
'She totally likes you' 'than who are you talking to?'.
I knew that Manehattan wasn't where she truly belonged, so I gave her a stern look and said "Applejack, your destiny is back at sweet apple acres, just as mine is, well, time will tell, I guess, but the point is that your place in this world is back at the farm. It's where you belong.".
I saw a tear form in her eye "Ya'll're right. Ah'll leave tomorrow morning, but ya'll can stay 'till then".
"I'll have to ask Wysteria"
I was pretty lucky that Applejack had a sleeping bag for me to sleep in.
as I fell asleep a song started playing in my head:
"Somewhere, over the rainbow..."
Applejack woke me up late. She had already told her aunt and uncle that she was leaving because she didn't fit in, and she had her bag of stuff over her shoulder (Author's note: or whatever you would call the shoulder of a pony). We all walked outside to bid her farewell She walked over to her aunt and uncle first, and gave them both some kisses. Then she walked over to Wysteria and shook her hoof. Finally, she walked over to me, and before I kew it, I was in a bear hug. "Uummm... you can let go know" I stated 'Wink wink, nudge nudge' ' BEEP! wrong answer!'. She pulled away, with a blushing face "Right, sorry.".
"Well, goodbye then, take care" she said.
"I was going to say that!" Blurted Wysteria.
Applejack giggled, then started to walk off.
I had trouble getting to sleep that night. But When I did, I had the strangest dream.
I was in a white void, no correct that, there was a white void, But I wasn't there I heard a voice, but there was nopony in sight. the voice said:
"One day, I shall come back, yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all of your beliefs, and prove to me, that I am not wrong in mine."
Then I woke up, but I knew what the dream meant. I knew my destiny now.
Manehattan, present day
I woke up, and smiled, for today was the day I was moving to ponyville.

2 days after Ray Tess and Windsweeper's stories
Death's P.O.V.
I thought to myself
'You can say that again bub.'
I jumped around looking for the source of the voice. "Oh joy, it seems as if I'm being followed by someone who can read my thoughts." I sighed.
'That's where you're wrong buddy-boy! I'm a voice inside your head!'
I thought
'I don't like your attitude bub.'
I walked for a while until a saw a pink speck off in the distance. " Hey, what's that?" I said to nopony in particular, but I then realized the voice in my head would snap something back anyways, so as to not put my words to waste.
'You're guess is as good as mine bub' called it.
I galloped over to find a pink filly sleeping beside one of the rocks, which she seemed to have been painting blue and black. I looked around and noticed more painted rocks, one purple, and orange, another brown, orange and red, and one white, black, red, green, purple and turquoise.
'Oh, it's just a girl. I was hoping for a gem of some sort, so we could get rich. And by we, I meant you, because I don't exist in a physical body. Yet...'
I poked the girl to see if she was alright. she woke up and I asked her "Who are you, and what are you doing all the way out here?"
"I'm Pinkie Pie" she replied " I live out here on my family's barn." She pointed to a large barn not that far away from where we were standing "We're rock farmers".
Upon hearing that, 3 things crossed my mind:
and 3., which me and the voice thought at the same time:
'How did I not notice that barn before?'
I stopped thinking about it and asked her "what's with the rocks?"
"Oh" she replied " I'm painting them to match the colours of my friends from school, which is in the city" she pointed to the unfinished black and blue one "That one is Emma Bubble" she pointed to the Purple and orange one "that one is Ray Tess" she pointed to the brown, orange and red one "That one is Hunter Punch, the red matches his cutie mark" she pointed to the last one, the one with 5 colors" and that one is Checkers, the red and black parts match his cutie mark."
'Too much info at once, brain exploding!'
"You ask a lot of questions, can I ask some?"
"ok, I guess"
"What's your name?" she stood up, though I was alot taller than her, but then again I am taller than most adults I've met, and I'm still a kid.
"Death" I replied
"How old are you?"
"9" (Author's note: this is human years)
" I'm 7, ok next question, what's that on your cutie mark?"
'I'm getting bored...'
"It's a scythe"
'Ultraman, Ultraman, Seven'
"What's a scythe?"
'Okkusenman, Okkusenman!'
"it's a weapon, and I'm quite skilled with it actually" I said, using magic to pull my scythe out of my saddlebag, then push it back in< gotta love pocket dimension spells> I thought, thinking back to when I had my saddlebag enchanted to be a void with endless room.
'It just occured to me, that I've been through this place again and again, and in the same spot everytime, I repeatedly die'
" why would you want a weapon?"
'I can't defeat Airman, no matter how I try to dodge his tornadoes he just kills me again'
"It's just a hobby"
'One last thing I beg you please, just before you go'
"where do you live?"
'Swing for the fences son, he must have told you once'
"I'm a traveler, in constant search for my parents who abandoned me, I don't live anywhere"
'Show me how to lie, you're getting better all the time, and turning all against one, isn't that hard to change'
"You can stay with me for a while"
"Sure, why not"
'Finally something happens!! Thank god'
'(right, different deity) I mean thank celestia!'

Pinkie's P.O.V.
< Hi there people of earth watching our every move, let me fill you on what's happening. I met this really nice colt named Death who spends his life walking around looking for his mom and dad, and he does'nt have a home so I'm letting him stay with me. So sit back, relax, grab a batch of cupcakes and let the story unfold.>
(Author's note: Death's story will be a 2 parter. Broohoof to the first person to guess the 4 songs the voice was singing when he was bored. Also, Tell me If I did a good job keeping pinkie in character (especially at the end). And before anyone makes a comment like "UUUUH PINKIE SHOULD'NT HAVE HER CUTIE MARK YET UUUUUH!" just be reminded that this takes place 2 days AFTER Ray Tess and Windsweeper's stories, therefore, 2 days AFTER THE SONIC RAINBOOM.)

Pie famiy barn
"Hi mom hi dad I made a new friend and he has nowhere to stay so I'm letting him stay with us for a while 'kay bye." My daughter yelled as she burst through the door, followed by a tall unicorn colt.
He looked at me, and saw the confusion in my eyes, then said "Trust me, I'm as confused as you are."
Death's P.O.V.
Pinkie stormed into the living room where a light gray filly with a darker gray mane and a dull blue filly with a light gray mane where sitting. I could only assume these were Pinkie's sisters.
"HI INKIE HI BLINKIE" Pinkie yelled.
"Hi Pinkie" said the all gray one.
"Hi Pinkie" said the dull blue and gray one.
"I made a new friend today" said Pinkie "C'mon over here, Death!"
I walked in completely, then walked to them, and saw that I was towering over the blue one.
"Death, this is Inkie" Pinkie said, pointing to the gray one "and this is Blinkie" she said pointing to the blue one.
"Hello." I said.
"Hello" they both said in unison.
'Wait a second, Inkie, Blinkie, Pinkie? Great, now all we need is Clyde and We'll have a full Pac-man ghost reunion. Also, since everyone is saying hello, I will too. ELLO GUVNA!'
"What? who said that?" said Inkie.
To which I replied "Huh?"
"Oh, don't mind her, she hears voices all the time" said Blinkie.
'Yep!'
Inkie jumped a bit.
'Although I think she can only hear me, not you. LITTLE GIRL!'
"EEP!" Inkie jumped "What do you want voice?"
'repeat after me'
"okay..."
"What's going on?" Asked Blinkie
" The voice is asking her to repeat what he says" both girls looked at me strangely as I said that " What, it's a voice in my head, she can just hear it, I think she's a psychic"
'okkusenman'
"okkusenman" Inkie repeated.
'Ivysaur is best pokemon'
"Ivysaur is best pokemon" She repeated.
"WHAT?" yelled both Blinkie and Pinkie, at the same time.
"Hey, I don't know why the voice talks to me, it just does. And as I said, I think your sister is a psychic" I replied
'FAAAAALCOOOON PAAAAWNCH!'
"Falcon punch?" she attempted to repeat
'Eh, good enough. you can stop repeating what I say now. Also, check your flank. Cutie mark alert.'
"Really!" she checked her flank, and saw a card and a crystal ball on it.
I, of course hearing what the voice had said, informed the other 2 girls "Um girls? Your sister just got her cutie mark."
"Huh?" Said Pinkie, as she turned around to see that her sister had earned a cutie mark.
Blinkie didn't even turn around "awwwww" she said "now I'm the only pie sister without a cutie mark." she slumped down.
"Don't worry" I assured her " You'll get your cutie mark eventually, it just takes time"
She looked up at me "Thanks" she said, then hugged one of my hooves, considering that I was about 3 times her size.
"Please get of me" I deadpanned.
The next day, the girls brought me to school with them. When we entered the classroom, the teacher turned to me.
"Oh, Hello there, I'm Ms. Spiral" The Pegasus pony schoolteacher smiled at me. "What's your name?"
"I'm Death, I'm just here with the Pie sisters, just for today. I'm a traveller"
"At your age?" She seemed shocked, but at least she could tell I wasn't that old, even though I was fairly her height.
"I travel Equestria in search of my parents, who Abandoned me as a baby" I replied
"That's very sad to hear" she said. I could hear many "ooooohs" and "aaahs". I even saw a white earth pony white earth pony with a 3 color mane and heard him say "ouch". I recognized the colors from Pinkie's rocks. I think his name was Checkers.
"Well, you can sit at that empty desk next to Ray Tess" she said
At Recess, Pinkie brought me to meet her friends in the schoolyard. The schoolyard had no equipment, and it was half concrete and half grass. 3 earth ponies and a pegasus. The 3 earth ponies were Emma Bubble, Ray Tess, and Checkers. The Pegasus was Hunter Punch.
Emma Bubble spoke up "See that unicorn filly over there?" she pointed to a pony that looked just like her, except she was a unicorn, and her mane was white instead of black, but they both had the same blue coat. "That's my little sister Trixie, and as you can see, she likes to show off her illusion magic." She then pointed to a small crowd In front of Trixie.
"And I need to know this... why?" I asked
"Don't worry, she tells this to everypony she meets, for no reason. She just really hates her sister." Said Ray Tess.
I turned to the Pegasus, who was Giving me the evil eye.
"What's his problem?" I asked Checkers.
"He thinks You're a monster because your eyes are weird" he replied.
"Well, It's making me uncomfortable, I'm leaving, and I don't mean I'm going back to the farm, I mean I'm leaving Manehattan. Seeya!" I started to walk off, but was interupted.
'WAIT! Tell Ray I said Hi.'
"Oh and, Ray. The voice in my head says Hi"
I walked off, and Ray just say there, with his jaw wide.
Years later
I had Visited the pie family farm, to catch up on old times. It turns out that Pinkie moved to Ponyville, so that's where I'm heading next. Hopefully, she does'nt mind a visit.

Cloudsdale, Years earlier
" So, now, Rainbow Dash and those 3 jerks are having a race" My friend, a male pegasus pony named Sky High told me.
" Dash is obviously going to, like, win" Said my other friend, a female griffin name Feathertip "She's like, the fastest flyer in the whole school".
" The 3 stooges won't know what hit em'" I said.
We all laughed
The 4 pegasi where all lined up and ready to race. Fluttershy, standing on a cloud in front of them, waved the flag. the 4 pegasi flew off so fast that fluttershy fell of the cloud.
"Oh crap" I heard Sky High mutter.
Fluttershy's p.o.v.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed.
Windsweeper's P.O.V.
We watched Dash fly past the other 3 pegasi, leaving them to eat her dust.
"Go Dash!" I yelled.
"WOOHOO! GO GO GO!" Feathertip screamed
One of the pegasi that Dash was racing spun through the sky until he bumped into the clouds we were sitting on. "So, how does Dash's dust taste, cause you sure look like you're eating it?" Joked Sky High
'Aaaawww, I wanted him to win' said a voice in my head. I replied.
We then watched Dash fly downwards to a ring made of clouds. when she flew through the ring, she bounced up into the air with an explosion of color.
" OH MY CELESTIA WHAT WAS THAT?!?" me and my 2 friends said in unison. 'I dunno, but it was way too colorful for my liking.' said the voice in my head.
She came back up and landed on a large cloud, where everypony gathered around her. She had gotten her cutie mark, a white cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt. I wanted to talk to her, but I shyed out. I now knew I would follow her to the ends of equestria, but I didn't understand why just yet.
'Because you're crushing on her, genius'
Cloudsdale, present day
I woke up (Author's note: 5 days after Ray Tess and Death moved to ponyville) and for some reason a certain somepony popped into my head. Where was she living again, ah yes, ponyville. I was renting out space in my friend's house, so maybe I could move to ponyville, so not to be a burden to him.
Anything to see Rainbow Dash again.
