Chapter 3-4: Pizza Talk

“C’mon, Jorge! Twilight’s waiting!”

“She can wait a few minutes!”

“You clearly haven’t seen pregnant Twilight…”

“And you clearly don’t know me.” Jorge deadpanned.

“No, like. I saw pregnant Twilight.” Dash replied. “She gets pissed really easily…”

“I blame her hormones.” Jorge monotoned.

“Yep, that's probably what's doing it…” Dash nodded in agreement. “Hopefully I don’t reach that point…”

“I doubt you will.” Jorge shook his head, opening the door in front of them as they left their house. “You’ve been doing fine so far.”

Dash stayed silent for a moment, then nodded. “Good.” With a grin on her face, she flared her wings open. “I bet ya I’ll make it to Twilight’s before you do.”

Jorge raised an eyebrow, stopping directly in his tracks, and looked over to his wife. “What’re you doing?”

“Getting ready to race, duh!”

Jorge narrowed his eyes. “No you’re not.”

“...What do you mean ‘no I’m not’?” Dash asked.

“You’ll hurt the foal, Rainbow!” Jorge stomped a hoof on the ground.

“No I won’t!” Dash retorted. “If anything, our foal will probably end up tough like me!”

Jorge simply deadpanned. “No it won’t.”

“Why not?”

“It doesn’t work that way…”

“What do you mean it doesn’t work tha—”

“Just because you’ve gone through training, and workouts, and whatever else you do in your spare time when I’m not around!” Jorge grumbled. “...Doesn’t automatically mean it’s going to apply to our foal. Neither will pushing your body through such extremes at your current state.”

Dash blinked. “...Oh.”

“So for the time being, no flying.” Jorge stated.

“What!?” Dash shouted, her eyes going as wide as basketballs. “What do you mean no flying?!”

“Dash, we’ve dated for two years.” Jorge deadpanned. “Now we’re married. Don’t you think I’ve been with you long enough to know that once you start flying, you’re gonna start doing what you do?”

Dash raised an eyebrow, her expression growing into a more angered one. “And what is it that I do?”

“You start doing tricks, flying real fast, that kind of stuff.” Jorge explained. “Things like that can hurt the foal. Or maybe something worse.” He sighed softly. Sure, he may have been a little too blunt for such a sensitive topic, he felt it was the only way to get through her stubborn head.

Dash widened her eyes, pausing as the thought of losing her foal began to sink into her head. The more she thought about it, the more other thoughts began to dig into her head. Soon enough, she looked up to her husband, her eyes dripping with tears.

“J-Jorge…?”

Her husband noticed her current emotional state, and immediately walked up to her, and gently pulling her into a hug.

“Shhh…” He wrapped a wing around her. “You’re not gonna lose the foal… I won’t let that happen…”

“B-But… What if—”

“No buts.” Jorge shook his head, lifting hers up with a hoof so she would face him. “Look at me. I won’t let it happen. As long as you let me help you, we’ll be fine. Alright?”

Dash stayed silent for a few seconds, then nodded slowly. “Okay…” She quietly spoke.

“Okay…” Jorge spoke back, kissing her forehead gently. “Now… We’d better hurry, if we take any longer, Twilight’ll probably grab Shadow, and use him to stab me to death…”

Dash softly began to giggle at her husband’s comment, as she wiped her tears off her face.

“If Shadow had a horn, I’d bet she’d try to stab me using his horn, too.” He chuckled, smiling as he watched his wife laugh along with him.

“And then she’ll just yell at him for stabbing me. Even though it was her fault...”

“Why are they taking so long!?” Twilight shouted. “They should’ve been here five minutes ago!”

“But… It’s just five minutes…” Shadow rolled his eyes. “They don’t have to be here perfectly on time, babe…”

“Do you know how rude it is to be late?” Twilight raised an eyebrow at her husband. “It’s extremely rude!”

“You didn’t hear a single word I said, did you?”

“Like, seriously!” Twilight groaned. “Would it kill them to show up on time for just one day?”

Almost as if on cue, the door to the castle opened, and a familiar voice had shouted back at the mare.

“You know we have these things? Y’know, they’re called lives?” Jorge deadpanned. “You used to have one?”

Twilight turned around, facing the cuban. “Even so, you’ve never showed up on time for a singl—”

“Your wedding.” Jorge interrupted.

Twilight immediately cut herself off, pausing for a moment at the cuban’s counter. “...Maybe you have showed up on time for things…”

Jorge rolled his eyes. “And, as usual, the cuban gets blamed for stuff he didn’t do…”

“Oh shut up.” Twilight retorted. “You’re five minutes late, the pizza’s starting to get cold.”

Jorge feigned a gasp. “Oh no! Five whole minutes! The already flaming hot pizza’s starting to run cold in only five minutes!”

“Alright.” Dash cut in. “I think she got the point...”

“I don’t think she has…” Jorge grumbled.

“I have...” Twilight deadpanned, sighing softly, trying to change the subject. “Let’s just eat, already…”

Jorge simply nodded in agreement. “There had better be pineapples in one of them…”

“Calm your cuban ass, Jorge.” Shadow rolled his eyes. “It’s not like we’d intentionally buy a pizza without toppings despite you asking us to get some…”

“Good…”

“Cause then I’d have to deal with your complaining…”

“Fuck you too, Shadow.”

“So, Jorge…” Shadow spoke softly. “How’s life with pregnant Dash?”

“Not as chaotic as life with pregnant Twilight according to what I've heard.” Jorge chuckled. “Speaking of which, how’s that like?”

“Well you see...at the start is was a simple walk down a fiery path...” Shadow began, “And then, I got to see the gates of Hell. And then they opened... and all of hell broke loose.”

Jorge blinked. “Oh.”

“Yeah…” Shadow nodded slowly. “What’s Dash like?”

“Uh. The complete opposite of Twilight…” Jorge explained. “She’s extremely cuddly, extremely clingy, but she gets so adorable at times…”

“YOU LUCKY BASTARD!” Shadow stomped a hoof onto the floor. “I GET THE DEMON PREGNANCY, AND YOU GET THE ANGEL PREGNANCY!?”

Jorge paused for a moment, thinking about how to respond to Shadow’s question.

“Yeah, basically.” He shrugged.

Shadow sighed. “Seven more months…”

Jorge looked off to the distance, watching as their wives continued to talk to each other as they continued to eat their pizza, which appeared to have rather strange toppings, such as pickles and some potato chips from a bag Shadow left lying around, but otherwise they were still calmly talking.

“Well. Twilight’s starting to look the part.” He noted.

Shadow raised an eyebrow, looking over to his wife, noticing the size of her belly, having gone from being flat to a small lump.

“Yeah…” He nodded. “Let’s just hope she doesn’t complain about looking fat…”

“Twilight? Self-aware?” Jorge looked at him with a questioning look. “Please… I don’t think she’s the kind of mare to complain about her looks...”

“This is pregnant Twilight we’re talkin’ about here…” Shadow narrowed his eyes. “She complains about everything.”

“Fair enough.”

Shadow rolled his eyes, looking back at the two mares. “Y’know, I think Dash’s starting to show a tiny bit…”

“Really?” Jorge raised an eyebrow, looking over to her belly, while wasn’t as noticeable as Twilight’s, he could just barely see the small “baby bump”.

“Eight more months…” He sighed. “I’m not ready…”

“Not this shit again, Jorge…” Shadow patted him on the back. “You’re gonna be fine. If you two can take care of each other with no problems, then you’ll both be perfectly A-OK taking care of a foal…”

Jorge nodded. “You’re right…” He looked over to his friend. “What about you? Do you think you’re up for it?”

“Fuck no…” Shadow shook his head. “I was thrown into this situation unwillingly. At least you and Dash had some sort of plan. Albeit it happened earlier than you were expecting it to… But, if I’m able to take care of demon-Twi, then a foal will be a cakewalk. Hell, two foals would be a cakewalk.”

“If you say so…”

“Please, what’s the worst that could happen?”
