Ponysona 3: The Nightmare Hour

It was silent before Star Came downstairs, I was going to ask him why I heard Swirl yell earlier, but I felt that it was a bad time to ask about that, so I sat in silence.

"So what's for breakfast?" Star asked.

"I dunno, Melody's making it." Crescent told him.

"Wait, so Flash isn't making breakfast anymore?" Star asked in confusion.

"I don't even think he's here, probably off s=doing something mysterious." Crescent said.

"Whatever he's doing it better be preparing him to apologize to me." I said.

"Why would he apologize to you?" Star asked.

"He never cooks for me, i'm stuck eating those ramen bowls over at Minuette's store." I replied.

"But I thought you loved them, why would he cook for you if you love them?" Star asked.

"D-damn, you've got a point." I replied shocked at how observant he is.

"Hmm, you know, I never had ramen before, Sentinel, what do you say, let's go there together sometime." Star said.

"Sure, but only if you don't question what I eat." I replied.

"Why would I do that?" He asked.

"Because he only eats that weird protein shit." Flash said, as he walked through the door.

"It's not weird, it's what makes you strong, you need as much protein as possible." I yelled at him.

"Yeah whatever." He replied. "I'll be gone for the next few days, so don't come looking for me." And like that Flash was gone.

"It would be great if you just dropped dead." I thought to myself. "Then I could eat all the protein i'd want."

"Breakfast is ready." Melody said as she brought in plates for all of us. "For StarFly, I have his favorite, oatmeal, with strawberries, and for Crescent, a Hayburger, then for Twilight, I have soup with iced coffee, Swirl will have this plate of eggs, Silver Wing has some croissant, and then finally, Thunderbolt will get these fired egg whites, tofu, and soybeans." She set down the plates infront of us.

"Thank you Melody, I now have three types of protein for breakfast instead of one!" I yelled.

"You are weird." I heard Star say.

"I'm not weird!" I yelled at him.

I was standing in the lobby waiting for Star to show up so that we could go to Minuette's. I was shocked to see how instead of judging me for eating protein, he actually asked Melody to try some.

"Hey, so you ready?" I heard Star ask. I looked and saw him standing right infront of me.

"Yeah, i'm ready, let's go." I said, and then we both left the dorm and headed to Minuette's

"So you really eat that stuff everyday?" Star asked.

"I have to, to make sure i'm always one step ahead, you see i'm president of the boxing club, and I need to stay strong." I replied.

"Cool, is anyone else in our group a part of clubs?"

"Well, Swirl's a part of the archery club, which is why she uses a bow for battle, and the others I have no idea, but I am assuming that Crescent loves baseball, he holds his sword like a bat."

"Yeah, it's kind of odd though, usually you'd use a sword like how I hold my short sword, but not like a bat."

"I think he's just making sure both his arms are strong."

"Maybe, wait, don't you fight with just your fist?" Star asked with a puzzled look on his face.

"I don't just use my fists, I also use Mickite." I said with  confidence in my voice.

"Oh right, your persona, how are you able to also use your fist?"

"You don't need a weapon, when you get your Persona, you can strike shadows with whatever."

"I didn't know that, but I think i'll stick with my sword."

"Suit yourself."

"That was delicious, i should come here more often." Star said in delight.

"You think so, it's nothing special." I heard Minuette say.

"Nothing special, this is great, I love this, the best i've ever had."

"Oh, well thank you." I saw Minuette blushing.

"Hey dude, looks like you made somepony's day." I said as I gave Star a light nudge.

"Yeah guess I did, hey so I was thinking that for a trip tomorrow, we all go to the local wish well."

"Might be good, we all need some goodluck with tartarus, and maybe we could see if that old pony is still living there."

"I hope everypony will be alright with that, oh and maybe we should leave Melody at the dorm, she looks too much like a robot."

"That's probably for the best." I was able to feel Star and I become closer as friends, he gave me a warm small smile, and it was a good signal of friendship. "Hey, let's have a spar sometime, I'd like to see how strong you really are."

"I won't hold back." Star said with a fire in his eyes. I felt us getting closer, and I knew that we would be great friends.

"Then let's both get strong, and wait until the day we have to fight." I said.

The next day we all gathered at the request of Star. I wondered what it was he wanted, but then I remembered that he said we were going to the wish well.

"Okay everypony, I hope you're ready, we're going to the local wish well." Star said.

"That sounds like fun, i'm in." Crescent said.

"Me too." Swirl said.

"I can make my wish come true." Silver said.

"It should be a nice experience." Twilight said.

"I wish to accompany all of you." Melody said.

"Umm, Melody, you're a robot, you can't really be seen by other ponies." Star said.

"I have a winter school uniform, I could wear that as a disguise." Melody replied as she went to get the uniform.

"Guess Melody's also coming." Star said. "Let's leave when she gets back." He said as he sat down.

After Melody came back from getting her clothes on we all left for the wishing well.

"This'll be awesome, I brought some bits to toss in." Silver said.

"You seem into this wishing well." I said.

"Of course I am, wishing wells mean we get to offer some money, to make our wish come true." Silver said.

"So what's your wish?" Star asked.

"I can't say, if I do then it won't come true." Silver replied looking embarrassed.

"I think I know what it is." I said.

"Y-you do?" Silver asked trying to hide her panicked tone.

"It's protein, right?" I said while snapping my fingers.

"Sure, it's protein." Silver said, he voice starting to sound calm again.

"I knew it." I said.

"Stop talking about protein, not everyone is like you." Twilight said.

"Yeah Twi's right, if you only talk about things you're interested in, then you'll never get a girlfriend." Crescent said.

"I think he's too musclebound to even think about anything other than protein." Swirl said. Everypony started laughing.

"Geez, i'm just saying." I said, as I rubbed the back of my head in embarrassment.

"Looks like were done here." Star said, we had all gotten to the well and tossed in some money, and were about ready to leave, when I heard some barking come from a bit away.

"Wait, the old pony still lives here?" Twilight asked.

"Guess so, that was Rusty just now, right?" Swirl asked.

"It sounded like her, let's go check it out." I said, as we all started going to the barking. When we found the source of the barking we saw Flash with some odd ponies, they seemed to be talking, and barking at them was Rusty, she  looked like she was trying to protect something.

"Hey what are you three doing with Flash!" I hear Star yell as he ran out to them.

"Shit, gotta go." I heard one of them say as all three of them ran off.

"What are you doing here?" Flash asked as he facehoofed.

"I was here making wishes in the well with the others." Star said, we all then stepped forward and showed ourselves.

"Flash, who were those ponies?" Twilight asked him.

"None of our business." Flash said in an angry tone as he walked off.

"I worry about him." I said as we all went to Rusty. "Hey girl, where's your owner?" I asked as I pet her. Rusty barked as if she was answering me.

"He is, dead." Melody said. "Atleast, that is what Rusty is saying."

"Wait, you can understand her?" Star asked.

"I was programmed with a universal translator, I can understand all types of speech." Melody said.

"Okay, what happened to him?" Twilight asked, and Rusty strung along barks, and woofs.

"He was killed by something, but I don't know what." Melody translated

"That's horrible." Star said. "So you're all alone now?" Rust whined in response.

"I am very lonely." Melody said. "That is what she is saying.

"Why don't you come live with us?" Silver asked. Rusty looked around and then whined again.

"I cannot leave, it is my job to protect the wishing well." Melody said. "It appears as though Rusty is like me, she wishes to protect her master's old home, just as I wish to protect StarFly."

"A strong sense of duty, with unwavering loyalty, that's what I like to hear," I said. Rusty barked in celebration of my praise.

"Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it." Melody said. "Best of luck to you Rusty, we shall be going, but we will meet again." Melody bowed and then we all walked back to the dorms.
