Electro Flyer woke up in his bed. He stared at the ceiling of Stable 108. He checked the time on his Pip-Buck. 6:42. "Fuck!" He yelled as he shot off his bed and quickly threw on his Utility Jumpsuit.

He trotted down to the locker room.  As he reached his locker, he was approached by the always attractive Overmare, Toasted Oats. "Late to your shift again, Flyer?" Toasted Oats teased. Electro Flyer replied "Not now, Oats." Toasted Oats gave Flyer a hurt look as she backed away.

Electro Flyer took his utility belt and welding mask out of his locker. He cantered to his station on the Maintenance Level. The grating on the floor was jagged and rough on his worn hooves.

Electro Flyer took out a flashlight and aimed it at an odd noise coming from behind the power lines. He was bewildered and decided to investigate the odd noise that dare violate his perked ears. He kept hearing the metallic pounding of Stable Dweller hooves on the cold, metal grating. Who or whatever it was, it was running from something. He trotted swiftly after it as it desperately pounded away. He caught a short glimpse of silver and red tail above the flanks of a mare. There was only one pony out of all Stable 108's residents that had a mane and tail like that. The mare that, to Electro Flyer, had the flanks of a goddess. The Overmare. Toasted Oats.

Flyer gave up his pursuit. he couldn't even imagine a reason as to why the Overmare would be on the Maintenance Level, except to flirt with him before his shift. Speaking of his shift, it was over. Flyer trotted towards and up the stairs from the lowest level to the second highest. Maintenance all the way to Residency. He didn't even bother stopping by the locker room to drop off his equipment. He didn't care. He just wanted to quit thinking about why the Overmare was on the Maintenance Level. What kind of business the Overmare could possibly have on that low a level? She always preferred to stay in the comfort of her residency. More specifically, her nice, fluffy bed. It was much better than the  one he had. Flyer flopped down onto his bed. He focused on her flank now more than her buisness in Maintenance.

Electro Flyer awoke to a commotion. he bolted up, still bearing his Jumpsuit and Belt. He heard a pounding and screams of terror as he entered the hallway in a rush. He heard the roar. Then he saw it. The ten foot beast sported a pair of incredibly large paws. The paws weren't what Flyer was worried about. The claws were. The twelve inch claws were the part that worried him. His Pip-Buck identified the monster as something called a Hellhound. The Hellhound spotted him and began charging.

Electro Flyer ran away from the Hellhound, to the only door in all of Stable  108 that he didn't know what was behind. Flyer ran through the door and locked it behind him. He turned to what was behind the door. He realized this was one of the hardest choices he had to make. Either face the Hellhound with nothing but his hooves, or leave the Stable. He sighed and pressed the button to move the elevator up with his large, Pegasus hooves.
