Kingdom Hearts: Harmony of Hearts
Chapter 4
Dark Impetus

Equestria: Friendship Castle (Twilight’s bedroom)

“INCOMING!”

That voice brought Twilight out of her slumber in a jolt. Princess Luna staggered from the shock of being forced from the Dreamscape. Before she could get her bearings, something came flying through the door, ramming into her and causing both her and the something to hit the wall opposite the door.

Twilight looked at the tangle of limbs that composed of an unconscious Princess Luna and Flash Sentry. Flash got up quickly and was ready to fight, but his composure changed and his eyes widened. He opened his mouth to shout, but Twilight felt a spell being cast behind her as he did so. An ethereal clock appeared above his and Princess Luna’s head. Both were then as solid as stone.

Twilight turned to where she felt the spell cast and saw a pony in a black robe or cloak. The only indication of who this was was the horn and the grey, square muzzle sticking out of the hood.

“Who are you?!” She asked with a royal air of authority.

The Unknown looked at Twilight, almost as if he was a warrior, gauging an opponent. He (or at least Twilight assumed it was a he) said nothing during the stare down.

Twilight readied a spell to send the Unknown out of the castle, but he pulled a dark crystal out from behind the door. What was inside the crystal caused Twilight to pause in her magic charge. Inside the crystal, in a pose depicting pure fear was…

“SPIKE!” Twilight cried as she rushed to the crystal. Before she could get close, two clear, crystal swords materialized in his telekinetic grasp. One pointed at Spike and the other pointed at Twilight, causing her to stop her movement. The Unknown made it plainly clear without words, Don’t make any wrong movement, or you will regret your decision.

“What is it that you want?!” Twilight asked angrily. Without speaking, the Unknown reached his hoof into the folds of his robe/cloak and pulled out a clear crystal that was shaped like the Element of Magic. He held it up for her to see, and cast a spell on it. Whatever he cast, Twilight felt it on a grand and painful scale, almost like when Tirek stole her magic from her a while back.

Looking at the crystal, she saw it gaining color and resembled the Element of Magic more fully. Twilight felt the spell end and fell down as if exhausted. She felt as if something was missing from her. Before she could dwell on it, the crystal containing Spike was slid towards her. Looking up, the Unknown nodded in her direction and turned to leave.

Twilight suddenly felt magic build up in her horn. Looking up at her horn she expected to see a purple aura surrounding her horn. However, she saw a bright pinprick of light at the very tip of her horn, and it seemed to be gathering light.

The Unknown turned to the unfolding scene and Twilight barely heard him mutter, “Impossible! He...he should be dead.”

The point of light then focused into a beam that hit the crystal Spike was imprisoned in. That beam refracted into three separate beams. Two of the beams hit Flash and Luna respectively, while the last beam, hit the wall perpendicular to the door. The spots that the beams hit became so bright, that she had to shield her eyes with her wings. She then heard a voice say, “A scattered dream that’s like a far off memory...A far off memory that’s like a scattered dream...I wanna line the pieces up...Yours, and mine…”

When the light cleared, Twilight saw a change in the room. Spike was unconscious, but free from the crystal. Luna and Flash were free from whatever spell they were held by, but only Flash was conscious and Luna was shaking the cobwebs from her head. A few feet from the wall where one of the beams had landed, was a light red pegasus pony. He had a brown, spiky mane and was wearing an interesting, open, red vest with a hood and a few pockets as well as a chain with a silver crown on it.

The pegasus was carefully getting up and examining himself, much more in wonder than checking for injuries. He moved his legs, head, tail, and wings in an experimental fashion and examined his cutie mark (a silver crown, like on his chain) in a combination of awe, wonder, and confusion.

Twilight suddenly saw a blur of black as the Unknown rushed towards the pegasus with his crystal swords ready to strike. She got up and was about to cast a shield around him, when Flash rushed forward and parried the strike. The Unknown then ran towards the door to the hallway, with Flash hot on his hooves.

Just as Flash was going to pursue out of the room, the pegasus ran forward and held him back. With a look of worry and determination, he shouted to Flash, “Don’t follow him! It's too dangerous! I’ll take care of him!”

The pegasus took off through the door, leaving Flash bewildered and confused. He turned to Twilight with a look of, ‘What just happened?’ plastered on his face.

“Watch Princess Luna and Spike; I’ll try to figure things out,” she told him. She cast a life locator spell and then teleported to a balcony overlooking a garden area in the castle grounds.

Equestria: Friendship Castle (garden)

Peering down from the balcony, she saw the Mysterious pony with the pegasus hot on his hooves. They both arrived in the main garden area, the Unknown skidding to a halt and the pegasus stopped a safe distance away.

The pegasus immediately began to grill the Unknown for information.

“Just when I think you guys have been taken down for good, silly me, you pop up again! What is the Organization up to this time!?”

The pegasus shot the Unknown a glare that could have rivaled Fluttershy’s Stare in the terror category. His face radiated pure rage towards this unicorn and whatever Organization he was part of.

The Unknown turned to the pegasus and responded, “Your time meddling in the Organization has come to an end. You have been nothing but a thorn in our side. Since Xemnas failed to eliminate you, I will take the pleasure of eliminating you.”

Two crystal swords materialized in the Unknown’s telekinetic grasp and he lunged towards the pegasus. The pegasus jumped back from the attack and placed himself in an aggressive stance. There was a flash of light around his mouth and when the light cleared, the pegasus was holding the handle of…

“A Keyblade!” Twilight whispered in amazement. Suddenly, images of the dream she had shown Princess Luna. The Keyblade the pegasus was using looked exactly like the one Sora used. Then, going further, he had the same spiky hairdo and a similar vest as Sora. Before she could line any more similarities up she heard a yell that broke her from her trance.

Looking down at the fight, she saw that the Unknown had impaled the pegasus with one of the crystal swords and was turning to run away further into the garden. With what strength he may have had left, the pegasus latched onto the Keyblade with his front hoof and threw it at the fleeing pony. The Keyblade struck the fleeing pony in the flank, sending him careening through a dark portal of sorts, one that disappeared as soon as the Unknown flew through. The pegasus then fainted.

Twilight flew down to the unconscious pony and began to check on him. She checked his pulse, and cast a spell to determine his vitals. After feeling satisfied that he was still alive, she levitated him off the ground and turned around. She saw Flash and Princess Luna walking to her from the door entering the garden.

“I’ll be right back,” Twilight said hastily before vanishing with the strange pegasus in a flash of light.
