Chapter Sixteen: Oh No...
PLEASE NOTE: There is some gore in this chapter... So If you're uncomfortable with it, please do not read it. Skip the part where Rainbow Blaze starts to hurt Soarin.
Rainbow Blaze was angry. And he wasn't just angry at anypony. He was angry at none other than Soarin Skies...
"What the FREAKING HAY is going on here?" He asked with a low voice, using emphasis on the 'freaking hay.' Rainbow Dash gulped. What was she going to do? Dash turned to Soarin, and told him something with a high pitched, clearly scared tone of voice.
"Soarin... Run. Please. Save yourself..." She told him quietly. Soarin looked back at her, and gulped.
"No, Rainbow... I'm not leaving your side..." He replied stubbornly. He turned back to Blaze, who looked like he had blood dripping from his eyes. It was terrifying.
"Answer the question." He said simply. Dash looked at him with frightened eyes. She was scared. Really scared. She remembered what her father had done when he heard that Hoops had done that horrible thing to her. She didn't want Soarin to suffer in that horrible way!
Soarin was a strong, naturally born leader. He was tough, brave, and loyal. But when it came to these kinds of things... He was as fragile as a mouse. A very frightened mouse.
Dash saw that her father was going to burst even more than he would have, if somepony didn't give him an answer in the next ten seconds, so she gulped, and looked back towards him.
"Uh... Nothing, Dad! Absolutely nothing at all!" She told him unconvincingly. Blaze shook his head angrily, and pushed Dash aside. He then made a beeline for the scared Wonderbolt.
"Sir... PLEASE don't hurt me..." Soarin said, his voice cracking. Blaze chuckled evilly.
"Oh don't worry... This won't hurt at all!" He said, before aiming for Soarin's wings. He put his hooves on the joints that connected them to his back, and twisted them harshly.
Soarin screamed in pain. And since the building was soundproof, nopony heard it. Except Rainbow Dash, of course.
"DAD!" She yelled, hurrying towards Soarin. She gently lifted his wing, as Soarin winced from the extreme amount of pain. She got up, and faced her father.
"WHAT THE HAY ARE YOU DOING?" She yelled to him. Blaze looked at his daughter, pushed her away, and went back to Soarin. The jerk Dash received was hard, and she was unable to get up and try to stop him.
Rainbow Blaze punched Soarin in the nose, where it instantly started bleeding. Dash gasped, and tried to move, but the soreness in her hooves was unbearable.
Blood started flowing all over Soarin, as he started crying. Of course, he wasn't expecting Blaze to take it well, but this was just downright awful! Who would do something like this?
"Dad... Please... Stop..." Dash managed to get out. Blaze looked towards his daughter, and realized what he had done. He instantly let go of Soarin, and helped his daughter up.
Rainbow Dash managed to stand up, just in time to raise her hoof, and slap her father across his face.
The doors suddenly swung open, and Firefly rushed in, swiftly closing them again after her. She gasped at the sight before her. Her husband was holding his cheek, her daughter was limping, and glaring at the stallion, and her daughter's coltfriend was sitting on the ground a few meters away, bleeding harshly, with his wing majorly bent out of shape.
But Firefly's attention was re-captured to her daughter, as she started yelling at her father.
"DAD! HOW DARE YOU HURT SOARIN! I THOUGHT YOU WERE BETTER THAN THIS! AND NOW YOU'RE JUST GOING TO BEAT HIM UP INTO PULP? YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO DO THAT!" She yelled.
Rainbow Dash kept berating her father, as Firefly went to Soarin, and helped him clean himself up. She looked around the cupboards in the next room, and found some bandages. She started to treat Soarin's injuries, and cleaned the blood off him with some wet paper towels. Soarin mumbled a painful thanks, as Firefly nodded, and stood back up.
Rainbow Blaze was still being yelled at by his daughter, but she instantly stopped once she noticed Soarin crouched on the floor, holding the many bandages in pain. She gasped, and ran towards him.
"SOARIN!" She yelled in concern, and bent over to him. Soarin looked up at her.
"Hey, Dashie! How are you this lovely, fine afternoon?" Soarin asked her with a goofy grin. Dash narrowed her eyes.
Soarin! This is no time to be making jokes! You're hurt!" She said, with an extremely worried look. Soarin looked down, a few tears escaping his eyes.
"I'm sorry Dashie... If I didn't ask you to be my marefriend... None of this would have happened." Soarin said guiltily. Dash shook her head.
"What are you talking about?" She asked him, brushing his mane with her hoof. This caused her to accidentally expose it's swelling. Soarin gasped.
"RAINBOW! You're hurt!" Soarin said with concern, wincing in the pain it caused him to talk. Dash quickly hid her hoof behind her back.
"Hey! No reason to be worried! It's just a little swelling... It'll be okay! It's YOU I should be worried about... Soarin... Are you okay?" Dash asked him. Soarin nodded.
"Yeah... I think so.... Your mother has mad doctor skills!" Soarin said. Dash nodded.
"She was a nurse for the majority of her life..." She told him. Soarin raised an eyebrow.
"Wow..." He said. Dash giggled, and nodded, before tears started welling up in her eyes. Soarin noticed them, and he held a hoof out to wipe them away.
"Hey hey hey... Why are you crying?" He asked her softly. Dash sniffled a little, before looking at him sadly.
"I-I-I can't bear to see you in pain... It hurts..." She said, tears starting to fall freely from her eyes. Soarin held out his hooves, and embraced her tightly, with Dash crying into his chest. He softly stroked her mane, and closed his eyes, whispering into her ear, words that were inaudible to anyone beside Dash... Even to me, the writer!
From the door of the room, Firefly and Blaze were silently watching the entire encounter. Firefly was holding a hoof to her heart, and Blaze looked like he was going to kill somepony. His glare was burning into Rainbow's back, all the way through Soarin, and possibly through the cloud wall behind him. Firefly saw his expression, and frowned.
"Come on, Rainbow Blaze. You can play overprotective father all you want through tomorrow... Let's give them their privacy. I need to talk to you..." She said harshly to her husband. Blaze gulped, but nodded, letting his wife drag him out of the room, giving the young couple one final glare.
