Rarity's Insanity
II: A Spool of Thread Should Do
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Well, at least I was able to make it fit!" Rarity congratulated herself as she looked at what she had accomplished. Bon Bon's skin, mane and all, was able to fit inside the tiny pack Rarity carried on her back on a daily basis. The bag, admittedly, looked cluttered and messy from the outside, and not clean and tidy as Rarity was used to day-to-day. But it wasn't a big deal; now Rarity could continue with her plans.
Taking a breath of outside air after a long time in the basement, Rarity prepared herself to walk out the front door of her Boutique for the first time in a while. She didn't care that her heart was pumping at a million miles an hour; her mind was racing with thoughts of, "What if someone catches me and I get in trouble?"; her knees were shaky since her bag was heavier than she was used to.
With confidence, Rarity took her front hoof and put it on the grass outside her front door. She glanced back and forth, making sure there wasn't a single suspicious pony in sight. Once the coast was clear, Rarity repeated this until she was completely outside her Boutique. "Well, since nopony's suspicious of anything, I'm free to go to where I need to go!" Rarity whispered to herself.
Rarity began to trot towards her destination. It was a slow, scared trot at first, but the farther away Rarity got from the safety of her Boutique, the more confident she grew, and the faster she trotted.

Once outside the basement, Derpy gasped for air. "That was the scariest thing I've ever seen!" she said to herself as she stood alone in Rarity's closed shop.
"If I'm going to stop Rarity from hurting anypony else, I'm going to need to make sure I know where she is going with Bon Bon's coat, so I can catch her red-hoofed," Derpy said to herself. Her eyes darted around the room, looking for a way out - and fast. Soon, Derpy saw the front door, and began to move towards it.
Derpy swung the door open with ease to see Rarity quickly trotting away. "Oh no you don't!" Derpy shouted, and ran clumsily after Rarity. She tripped a few times, but was able to regain her balance to catch up to Rarity quickly.

As Rarity looked around Ponyville, making sure nopony was suspicious of anything, she caught eye of Twilight Sparkle. If there was one pony who would figure out Rarity's plans, it would be Twilight.
"Hello there, Rarity!" Twilight shouted across the town square, staring right at Rarity.
"Oh, hello Twilight, darling!" Rarity shouted back, her legs freezing in place, unsure of what Twilight would do next.
"Your bag seems pretty full!" Twilight yelled as she quickly walked over to Rarity. "Are you doing anything particularly important today?"
"Nope!" Rarity quickly answered, her face becoming hot as she realized she was forcing herself to lie to one of her best friends. "I mean, yes. But it's not that important. Anyways, I have to go. See you later Sparkle - I mean, Twilight!" Rarity said, running away from Twilight.
"She must be pretty busy!" Twilight said to herself. "I should just leave her be, shouldn't I, Spike?"
"Uh, Twilight, did you also notice the foul stench coming from her bag?" Spike asked, completely disregarding the question Twilight had just asked. "Something seems...off about Rarity."
"Stench?" Twilight said. "I didn't notice anything unusual. I'm just going to ignore it. It's not like she's going to kill somepony or something silly like that, right?"
"Sure, let's go with that," Spike said. He still was sure that there was something very wrong with Rarity.

Derpy kept stumbling all the way to town square, where Derpy saw Rarity running to. "I wonder what she's doing at town square?" Derpy muttered to herself. "Probably selling Bon Bon's magnificent skin for a ton of bits, I bet!"
She ended up bumping into Twilight, who stared at Derpy. "Hello, Derpy!" Twilight greeted with a smile. "What brings you here?"
"I'm just..." -Derpy tried to find a good excuse that would keep her undercover mission secret,- "I'm just...seeing how Rarity's doing, you know? I haven't seen her in a while, and I want to make sure she's ok. But she keeps running away! Oh, I just don't know what went wrong!"
"It's because she's hiding something!" Spike blurted, not caring about the looks everypony gave him.
"Spike!" Twilight yelled sternly, staring at Spike with eyes that spelled out anger. "Don't you know you shouldn't gossip about other ponies?"
"But this isn't gossip, I tell you!" Spike insisted.
"Oh, but it is," Twilight said. "Now, come with me. There's more things we need for me to complete this checklist."
"Fine," Spike said, reluctantly following Twilight to the other side of town square.

At last, Rarity had reached her destination. "The thread factory!" Rarity exclaimed in excitement. "I can finally do what I need to do!"
She burst through the front door, apologizing for being disruptive. She slowly made her way to the front counter, and asked the unicorn sitting there, "Do you know where I can find a 'Mr. Hooves' here?"
"Yeah, I know where Hooves is. Let me get him for you," the clerk said. Using her powers, she picked up the phone and said, "Mr. Hooves, you're wanted at the front."
As soon as she put down the phone, a brown stallion came through the doors labeled EMPLOYEES ONLY. His hair was a darker brown than his coat, and was spiky enough to make him look like a mad scientist. The tie he was sporting was a cyan color, and Rarity found it odd that his eyes reminded her of Bon Bon, whose skin sat inside the bag perched on Rarity's back.
"Ah, Ms. Rarity!" Mr. Hooves said, bumping hooves with Rarity. "I'm glad you could make it! Let's meet in my office, so we can talk in a more private setting."
As Mr. Hooves marched towards his office, Rarity followed suit, hoping that the deal she was hoping to strike would be reached.

Derpy had finally reached a large building with many chimneys puffing dark gray smoke. Since she could barely read, she had no idea what kind of a building it was, but whatever lay inside, it must have been evil.
Outside one of the windows closest to her, Derpy saw a flash of white and purple. She knew it was Rarity, and sneakily made her way up to the window.
Derpy could hear a conversation, and pressed her ear up against the stained glass window.
"So, what brings you here to me?" a male stallion voice said. It was deep and clear, with a British accent. Derpy thought it was Doctor Hooves' voice, but she was unsure since it was muffled.
"Well, Mr. Hooves, I actually have something I'd like made into thread," a voice identical to Rarity's said. Derpy decided to look through the window to see if she could see what was happening inside the room. She saw Rarity take out Bon Bon's skin, and say, "Here's what I've got. I collected it last night. It's completely fresh."
"My, my!" the stallion said. "I can't believe you actually did this! Bon Bon, was it?" -Rarity shook her head yes.- "Wow! I'm impressed! All the skin in just three pieces! How much thread did you want?"
"A spool of thread will do," Rarity said. "Send it to this address." Derpy saw Rarity slide a piece of paper towards the stallion, who replied with, "Ok. It should be ready in just a few days, so you'll have to wait just a little."
"I'll wait as long as needed," Rarity said.
And with that, Rarity trotted out of Mr. Hooves' office, and headed towards the front door.
"She's making THREAD?" Derpy said. "But why? She has plenty of material back at her-"
Suddenly, the front doors of the building slammed open. Rarity looked around and spotted Derpy.
"Well hello, darling!" Rarity said. "You must be Derpy! May I ask just what you're doing outside Mr. Hooves' office window?"
"I was...enjoying the beautiful art on the window!" Derpy replied, blushing because she knew she was lying.
"Hmmm..." Rarity stood there, thinking. Then it hit her. "You were spying on us, weren't you?"|
"What?" Derpy scoffed. "Never! I wouldn't dream of i-"
Rarity punched Derpy in the nose, sending Derpy smashing into the ground. Derpy's face began to get warm as blood from her freshly broken nose trickled down her face.
"That's for spying on us," Rarity said. "You must have seen what happened last night, too?"
Derpy nodded, afraid of what would happen to her.
"I thought I heard a whimper!" Rarity exclaimed. She kicked Derpy in the gut, making Derpy feel light headed.
"Now, I shouldn't have all my fun here," Rarity said. "I'm going to take you back and..." -Rarity looked around, making sure nopony was watching.- "Nevermind. I'm going to take you back home and have more fun there."
Derpy's vision went black, and the last thing she felt was Rarity using her magic to drag her body on the floor, towards the Carousel Boutique.
~~~
Rarity continued towards the boutique, hoping not a single soul sees Derpy in this predicament. Out of the corner of her eye, Rarity saw Fluttershy running towards Rarity, screaming, "Derpy! What happened? I'll take care of you!"
"Rarity!" Fluttershy said. "Thank goodness you found Derpy before she could get even more injured! Let me take care of her."
"Fluttershy, darling, I appreciate your offer. I really do. But I'm going to take care of her, since you take care of just about everypony here, and you deserve a break," Rarity said. "May I go now?"
"Sure, I guess," Fluttershy whispered as Rarity sped away.
After Rarity had reached the boutique, she made sure Derpy was out cold, then prepared to have a third victim - and, if her plan worked out the way she wanted it to, a special treat for Derpy when she awoke.
