Chapters The Stars, They Shine For You
Back in Ponyville, Stellar Star was having her own problems.
She paced back and forth in her bedroom, occasionally muttering, "Does he not like me any more?" and "Why does she always have to be here?"
Star was referring to Fraisier Parfait. The Canterlot unicorn had recently been coming to Ponyville a lot, because she wanted to see...
Apple Spice.
Stellar Star was not happy with that. Because she liked A.S! And in all truth, Apple Spice liked Star and not Parfait, but neither of the mares knew that. So now, Parfait was flirting with Star's crush!
Star began doing wing-ups, like she did whenever she was mad. She was a bit of a hothead, so she got a lot of exercise from that.
Of course, she also liked Lightning Strike, but he was starting to drift off towards Smite. That didn't really make Star feel any better.
Twilight, her mom, popped her head into the room. "Stella...I can hear you 'exercising' for all the way down stairs! Could you quiet down, please?"
Star rolled her eyes. She hated it when her mom called her Stella.
Twilight continued. "I'm not sure why you can't do something more relaxing, like reading a book. Or you could go out and play with your friends..."
Star let her ramble. She stopped doing wing-ups and sat on her bed.
Finally, Twilight stopped. She looked at her daughter, worried. "Are you ok, Stella?"
"I'm fine, mom."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Star hesitated, then shook her head.
Twilight looked concerned. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, mom! Please. I just want to be alone." Star looked down.
"Ok..." her mother looked her over one more time, then left.
Stellar Star sighed, then flopped on her bed. She wanted to talk to someone, just not her mom. Twilight had a tendency to freak out over everything, and that would just stress Star even more. She could call Confetti, or maybe Amethyst, but she really didn't want to worry anypony over her problems. Technically, she didn't even want any pony to know that she had a crush.
But she needed to tell someone...
Right then, she had a great idea. She would call her best friend, who also happened to be her cousin, Princess Crystal Song.
The Magic of Heartbreak and Denial
Houdini was definitely having problems.
A crush problem, to be exact.
Fraisier Parfait, the daughter of Fancy Pants and Fleur-de-lis. And boy, she was pretty.
Now, it wasn't that he wasn't one her level. He was a prince , after all! Not an alicorn, no, but a prince none the less. It was true not many people liked him, not because of anything he did in particular, but because of his...well...heritage.
Prince Blueblood, and now Princess Trixie Lulumoon did not exactly have very good past reputations, and even though they were nice now, people still looked at them with disregard. And that rubbed off on Houdini.
It wasn't even that problem that separated him from Parfait.
It was because of the typical problem...
She liked somepony else .
Apple Spice, to be exact.
That was what Houdini didn't understand. Why did she like a farmpony over him? It just didn't make sense!
"UGH!" Houdini slammed his face into his pillow and accidentally pierced it with his horn. Feathers flew everywhere.
He rolled his eyes. Suddenly, the door opened, and his mother stuck her head in.
"Sweetie, is something wrong?" she asked, frowning.
It was pretty typical for her to do that. Trixie was very protective of Houdini, despite his complaints.
"Mom, you don't have to call me sweetie any more. I'm eighteen!"
She smiled slightly at him, and started picking up feathers with her magic. "Is this about Parfait again?" she asked.
Houdini jumped slightly. "How did you know about that?" he demanded. "I never told you!"
Trixie smirked. "I have my magic, you know."
"Mom, no offense, but you were never very good with magic..."
"That doesn't mean I haven't improved, does it? I've been working on a new spell that can sense the emotions of others, if they're strong enough." She turned to him. "I sensed the love emotion, but the rest was simply by deduction."
"Wow, I'm impressed." Houdini said sarcasticly. He was close to his mother, but she got on his nerves sometimes.
She frowned at him. "Well, hopefully you'll figure something out. I'll help all I can, but I really don't know much on the subject..." she looked away for a moment. "Just call me if you need anything." Trixie left and closed the door.
Houdini sighed and turned so he was looking up to the ceiling. On it were some small glow-in-the-dark stars, that his mother had made for him when he was little. Looking at them, he was reminded of someone...
Crystal Song's phone buzzed.
She sighed. She hoped it wasn't yet another text from that pervert, Iron Spear.
Crystal hesitantly picked up the phone. To her relief, it was just a message from her cousin, Stellar Star.
She quickly scanned the message. So Starry's having a crush problem... Crystal thought.
She sighed. As she was daughter of the princess of love, many turned to her for help with this kind of thing.
She began to write Star back:
Dear Starry, I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I'll help all I can, but you see, I've been having troubles of my own recently...
Crystal flashed back to only that morning, when she had crashed into the dreaded Iron Spear...
She had simply been walking the halls, when he "accidentally" bumped into her.
"Oh, hey, baby," he had said, with that idiotic grin on his face.
"Hello, Iron Spear," Crystal had said, and rolled her eyes at him.
Then, he proceeded to say the most dumb pick up lines, each to which Crystal rolled her eyes at a bit more.
When he was done, she had simply said, "Thanks for the compliments , but I already have a coltfriend."
To which he replied, "Yes, but think of how much more you could do if you ditched him?" and then he WINKED.
Crystal was so utterly disgusted that she had just walked away.
She hated to remember that. And didn't even know what to do. However, she could help out with Star's problem.
So, Starry, I'm pretty sure that A.S. doesn't even like Parfait. You'll just have to see what he says. Bye for now <3
Crystal put her phone down, satisfied with her response. She still had her own things to deal with, though.
Just then, a beam came through the window and made a small lightning bolt shape on the floor. That made her wonder how a certain pony was doing...
