Chapter 9: Release Restrictions Level Zero

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Braveheart landed forcefully on the ground at Sweet Apple Acres, causing it to shake. He had stripped himself of his Juggernaut armor during the flight, because it weighed him down. He drew his revolver and blasted the barn doors open. Applejack was standing in the middle of the barn, clothed in her Iscariot robes, wielding her blades. Braveheart pointed his gun at her, magic bubbling up in his horn.

“I swear to Celestia,” he fumed. “If you so much as put a bruise on my family, I will not make your death a quick one.”

“Good thing ya got here when ya did,” Applejack growled. “Yer lucky Dash didn’t kill ya first.”

“My mother is defending Hellsing against the final wave of Millennium,” Braveheart informed. “I don’t see you doing anything except threatening my family.”

“Ya might want ta look up then,” Applejack said, smirking. Not moving his gun, Braveheart looked up, and saw Sunset Shimmer, Blazing Fire, Seras Victoria, and Alushy standing on the upper support beams of the barn, ropes tied around their necks and gagged. Their arms were tied behind their backs, as were Blazing and Alushy’s wings, and Sunset had a magic restraint on her horn. She was panicking. Blazing stayed relatively calm, as did Seras. Alushy was unamused.

“One a them must die fer the rest ta live,” Applejack demanded. “You choose. But know this. If you dare to attack me, they all die. By the way, those ropes are made of blessed material. Meaning a vampire will die from it.” Braveheart knew Applejack was dead serious, so he released the hammer and sheathed his revolver. He looked up at his family and the vampires. Sunset was pleading with him through telepathy.

“Let Blazing live,” she pleaded. “Don’t let her suffer. I’ll take the sacrifice.”

“I won’t let you,” Braveheart refused. “Both of you are too important to me.” Alushy was also mentally speaking to Braveheart.

“You don’t have to kill any of us,” she said. “Remember what I said back at the estate.”

“The restrictions level zero,” Braveheart remembered. “All right. But be quick about it.” Braveheart closed his eyes. His horn gave a spark.

“Well?” Applejack asked. “Who will it be?”

“This is my order,” Braveheart murmered, just loud enough for Alushy to hear. “Release restrictions level zero. Search and destroy, search and destroy.” Alushy breathed out, releasing a cloud of her own breath.

“I am the bird of Hermes,” she muttered. Her volume increased as she continued. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my own wings to keep me tame!” In the Everfree on the other side of Equestria, the front of the tree containing Alushy’s coffin exploded, revealing the coffin completely. The phrase under the eye symbol lit up red, and the lid of the coffin slid away. Red eyes opened up from within the coffin, and the dark magic flowed through the shadows of Equestria into Alushy. Braveheart acted fast and covered himself and his family in a protective aura, levitating them in the air and keeping them safe. The magic singed through the blessed ropes, cutting them. Applejack threw her blessed blades, but they deflected off the magic barrier. Braveheart whipped out his revolver and shot at Applejack. She took the shot to her head, but her healing ability healed the wound almost immediately. Braveheart levitated his family and Seras down to him, and he created a larger magic shield around them. Alushy was growing more and more powerful by the second. The rope around her neck had split, and her power was rising immensely. A rumble shook the barn, and Alushy lit up with a bright red glow. She lowered herself to the ground as the glow faded. What stood in Alushy’s place was terrifying. Alushy had grown much taller. Her hair had grown longer, hanging behind her head and over her shoulders. She wore metal armor and wielded a huge broadsword. A long and tattered red and black cape hung from the armor shoulders. She turned her head to reveal narrowed eyes and an angry scowl.

“Alushy?” Blazing asked.

“No,” Seras corrected. “Dracula in Fluttershy’s body. The most powerful and feared vampire in existence.”

“We’ll see,” Applejack growled. She raised her blades and charged at Dracula. He raised his broadsword and swung it to the side. Applejack attempted to block the attack, but the heavy blade shattered her blessed bayonets. She quickly jumped back before Dracula could attack again.

“Dracula! Come on!” Braveheart called, at the door to the barn with his family. “We’ve got to get back to Hellsing.” He glared at Applejack as they all left the barn. They flew back to Canterlot, leaving Applejack alone in the barn.

Once the group was in the sky, they immediately saw something off with Canterlot. There was smoke coming from the far corner, where Braveheart’s house was, and an explosion rocketed from that area.

“Oh no,” Braveheart gasped. He tossed Sunset to Dracula and bolted off. As he closed in on his house, he saw it burning to the ground. Rainbow Dash was lying motionless in front of the house, Millennium vampires dead around her. She had bullet holes in her body, dents in her mechanical wing, and her gun lying beside her.

“NO!” Braveheart cried. He landed at Rainbow Dash’s side and kneeled down.

“Mom?” he gasped. “Mom, please wake up. Dash, wake up!” A thunderous stomp shook the ground behind Braveheart. He turned around, tears in his eyes, to see the true leader of Millennium.

“Your organization is lost,” the leader growled in a deep voice. “Everything you cared for is gone.” Braveheart stood up.

“Not everything, Tirek,” he hissed. Dracula and Seras landed in front of him, weapons at the ready. They dropped Blazing Fire and Sunset Shimmer behind him. Braveheart turned around to Sunset.

“You and Blazing take Rainbow Dash and get as far away from here as you can,” he said. “See if you can help her.” Sunset nodded and took Rainbow Dash in her arms. Blazing held her arm and Sunset teleported them all away. Tirek, Dracula and Seras stood facing one another, ready for a brawl. Braveheart drew his revolver and stood next to Seras.

“Do I need orders, master?” Dracula asked. Braveheart looked at him with a pissed face.

“What do you think?” he asked back. Dracula grinned and charged at Tirek. Seras fired a shot from her Harkonnen. Tirek put up his hands, and stopped both attacks. He grabbed the explosive round from Seras and swung it around, hitting Dracula in the chest. Dracula stumbled back. He summoned a huge legion of absorbed souls and launched them at Tirek, who put up a magic shield, defending himself. Dracula took advantage of this and ran in for a sword strike. He cut through the wave of souls, slicing the magic shield in two. Tirek caught the blade with his hands and pushed it aside. He slugged Dracula in the face, sending him spinning. Dracula used the spin’s momentum and came around for another swing. This one made contact. The blade struck Tirek’s shoulder, and lodged itself there. Blood started to ooze from the cut. Dracula tore his sword out of Tirek, and blood sprayed from the huge gash. Tirek staggered back and gripped his bleeding wound, blood gushing onto his hand. He wasted no time in using dark magic to heal himself. It happened quickly, but not quick enough. Seras fired off another shell which exploded in Tirek’s face. He fell back onto his rear. Dracula jumped up, sword pointed down, ready to drive it into Tirek’s heart. Tirek quickly rolled out of the way and jumped up. Dracula’s sword stuck into the concrete, causing a split in the road. He forced it out of the ground, causing the split to fall away, creating a deep crater. Tirek and Dracula stood on either side, glaring at one another.

“Your powers are weak, vampire,” Tirek taunted. “Soon you will fall, as will the Hellsing Organization.”

“We shall see,” Dracula said in his Romanian accent, a bit of Fluttershy in it. “Only a mortal pony can kill me. You are just a monster like myself.” Dracula stepped out of the way, giving Braveheart a clear shot. Braveheart fired his revolver with pinpoint accuracy, putting a bullet into Tirek’s left eye.

Sunset Shimmer and Blazing Fire kept running, Rainbow Dash in tow. Sunset kept her energy up with magic, and Blazing would alternate between flying and running. They had gone as far as Ponyville when they both finally collapsed.

“I…I can’t…keep going…” Blazing wheezed.

“We have to,” Susnet said, gasping for air. “Your dad said to get as far away as we could.”

“But to where?” Blazing wondered out loud. “No matter how far we go, it’ll only be a matter of time before Tirek finds us, should he not be defeated.”

“Braveheart, Seras and Dracula will beat him,” Sunset assured. “I’m sure of it.” Blazing looked to Rainbow Dash, who had woken up.

“Dash, listen to me,” Blazing said. “Don’t try to talk, don’t try to move. Just stay still.” Dash was twitching in pain, trying to nullify her wounds.

“We need to get to the hospital,” Sunset said. “It should be close.” They continued on to the Ponyville hospital. Doctor Redheart was waiting for them at the front doors.

“This way,” she said. Sunset and Blazing followed Redheart to the emergency room. Multiple surgeons were waiting.

“Braveheart told me everything over the phone,” Redheart explained. “Lay her on the table.” Sunset carefully laid Rainbow Dash on the surgery table.

“She’s conscious,” Blazing said. “She woke up not too long ago.”

“Put her on anesthesia,” Redheart ordered. One of the surgeons put a mask over Dash’s face, subjecting her to the anesthetics. Dash passed out from the gas, numbing her nerves.

“Multiple foreign objects in the body,” another surgeon said.

“Get me the forceps,” Redheart said.

“Doctor, one bullet has entered Rainbow Dash’s chest, very near to her heart,” a surgeon said nervously. “It’s snagged on the muscle. The slightest pull will tear the heart open, and she’ll bleed out within minutes.”

“Then have an internal cauterizer at the ready,” Redheart said. “Be prepared to seal that tear.”

“But ma’am…”

“There is no time to argue! Get that internal cauterizer ready!”

“…Yes ma’am.”

“You’re Braveheart’s wife, correct?” Redheart asked Sunset.

“I am,” Sunset nodded.

“I have to ask that you wait outside in the hall please,” Redheart requested. Sunset nodded and walked outside the operating room with Blazing. They sat down on a bench and waited.

“Mom, what if she dies?” Blazing worried.

“I don’t know,” Sunset said. “I guess we just have to move on.”

“I don’t want her to die,” Blazing said, her eyes starting to water.

“Me neither, honey,” Sunset agreed. “But there’s nothing we can do now. We just have to hope that the doctors can save her.” They waited for about 15 minutes before Doctor Redheart walked out. Sunset stood up.

“Do you have a B negative blood type?” Redheart asked. Sunset shook her head.

“I don’t,” she said. “Why?”

“She’s sustained a lot of blood loss,” Redheart said. “We’ve removed all the bullets and sealed all the wounds, but…” she paused.

“But what?” Blazing asked, worried.

“We’ll take care of her as best we can,” Redheart said. “But there’s little chance she’ll survive. I’m sorry.” Sunset nodded, eyes watering. Redheart returned to the operating room as Sunset sat back down. Blazing took her hand and leaned up against her shoulder. Sunset took up her daughter in her arms, both of them praying that Dash would live through this.

Braveheart was sent flying into a Canterlot house after a backhand from Tirek. He had scars in four different places, healed by his own magic. He had used up the bullets in his revolver, dealing vital damage to Tirek with each shot, buying Dracula and Seras time to strike. Seras darted around Tirek, disorienting him. He and Dracula brutally fought with giant swords. Their loud clangs rang through the ruined section of Canterlot. Blood was sprayed about the ground; Tirek’s, Braveheart’s, Seras’s, Dracula’s, Millennium vampires; it almost looked like a sea of blood drowning the ruins of the city. Braveheart landed face first into the ever-growing pool of blood. He wiped his face off and tried to take flight. He instead landed on his feet back into the blood pool. He looked back at his wings. They were dented and bent in all the wrong places, rendering Braveheart flightless. He gave an angry sigh and limped through the blood back to the battle. Dracula and Tirek were locked in a standoff, and Tirek was overpowering Dracula. But Dracula was doing this on purpose. He spun around and swung hard. The strike knocked Tirek’s sword out of his hands, sending it flying through the air. It wedged in the ground, spraying blood around the hit zone. Dracula kicked Tirek in the chest, knocking him down. He grabbed Tirek by the neck.

“Hey Tirek,” he said.

“Huh?” Tirek mumbled, wounded severely.

“You lost,” Dracula said. Tirek groaned. “And now I have to drink all of your blood,” Dracula finished. “OM NOM NOM NOM!” He bit into Tirek’s neck, spraying blood into his mouth and onto his face. Dracula drank Tirek’s blood, absorbing his soul, so he could never return to Equestria and threaten it again. When Dracula had finished, he dropped the drained corpse and absorbed the sea of blood around Canterlot. Braveheart healed his wounds with magic as the blood drained around him. Seras landed next to Dracula, who reverted back to Alushy.

“It is over,” Alushy said. “Tirek and the Millennium Organization is dead, and Hellsing remains standing.”

“Maybe,” Braveheart said. “But the estate is burnt to the ground, and I don’t know where Blazing and Sunset left to.” As if on cue, Braveheart’s cell phone rang.

“Hello?” he asked.

“Braveheart?” Sunset asked.

“Sunset?!” Braveheart gasped. “Oh, thank Celestia you’re OK. Is Blazing with you?”

“I’m right here Dad,” Blazing said. Braveheart smiled.

“Good to hear from you two,” he said. “Where are you?”

“We’ve settled down in Ponyville,” Sunset explained. “A nice young mare was selling the house, and she sold it to us for a reasonable amount of bits.”

“That’s great,” Braveheart said. “I’ll be right there with Alushy and Seras.” He hung up and Alushy took him up and took off for Ponyville.

When the three landed in Ponyville, Sunset was waiting for them in front of the new house.

“It looks great,” Braveheart said.

“It’s even better on the inside,” Sunset said. “It’s like we never left.” The entire group walked inside, and Braveheart took a look around. Sunset was right. The inside looked almost exactly like their Canterlot home.

“It’s amazing,” Braveheart marveled. He suddenly remembered something.

“Sunset, where’s Dash?” he asked. Sunset went quiet. Braveheart’s face fell.

“The doctor’s said that they’ll try their best, but they said that there isn’t much chance she’ll pull through,” Sunset said, regretfully. “I’m so sorry.” Braveheart held his head and sat down. Sunset and Blazing sat on either side of him.

“I really hope she lives,” Blazing said. “Just like you do.”

“Thanks, baby,” Braveheart stammered, choked through tears. The group stayed silent for a good long time. The battle against Hellsing and Millennium had been a victory for Hellsing, but at the cost of Rainbow Dash’s life.
