Hellsing Ultimate: Equestria
Chapter 6: Check Your Privilege
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBraveheart reached Canterlot a few hours later. The guards had kept the cloaked pony in a secure car in the back. Braveheart first went to the Canterlot hospital as the paramedic recommended. Doctor Redheart unwrapped the bandages and looked over the wound thoroughly. When she had finished, she put a new set of wrappings on.
“Well, it seems to just be a simple stab wound,” she deducted. “However, the wound goes much deeper than the knife could ever have. I don't know how that's possible.”
“Is it infected?” Braveheart asked.
“Surprisingly, no,” Redheart replied. “There's something preventing the wound from infecting at all.”
“Odd,” Braveheart mumbled to himself. He turned back to Redheart. “Thank you Doctor Redheart.”
“My pleasure,” Redheart nodded. Braveheart left the building and walked back home. He could hear the faint gunshots from the basement and Blazing Fire running about. He opened the door and stepped inside.
“I'm home!” he called out.
“Daddy!” Blazing cried. She ran up to Braveheart and jumped up into his arms. Braveheart winced a bit.
“Be careful, Blazing,” Braveheart said. “I got hurt in Manehattan. Don't be too rough.”
“Sorry,” Blazing apologized. Braveheart put her down as Sunset Shimmer walked up. They gave each other a quick hug and a kiss.
“Are you all right?” Sunset asked.
“I'm fine,” Braveheart said. “I just ran into a bit of trouble on the way back. I got stabbed in the side, but I'm OK.”
“What?!” Sunset gasped.
“I don't know who it was, but somepony tried to kill me,” Braveheart explained. “But I knocked him unconscious, but not before I got stabbed.”
“I'm glad you made it back in one piece,” Sunset said.
“Me too,” Braveheart sighed. He sat down on the couch and rested. Blazing sat down next to him. Braveheart smiled at his daughter and put an arm around her shoulder.
“I'm happy to see you, Dad,” Blazing quietly said.
“Same for you,” Braveheart agreed. He put his head back and dozed off, as Blazing Fire put her head on his chest and fell asleep as well. Sunset sighed and walked upstairs to her room.
Braveheart woke up a couple of hours later to the sound of his telephone ringing. Being careful not to wake up Blazing, he quietly levitated the phone to his hand.
“Hello?” he asked.
“Braveheart?” a masculine voice asked.
“Yes, that's me,” Braveheart said. “Who is this?”
“This is the head guard at the Canterlot Humane Asylum,” the voice said. “Your attacker from the train back here has requested to speak with you.”
“Do you have a name?”
“No,” the head guard said. “Nor a decent mug shot. The assailant refuses to remove his hood for anypony. He won't even say a word except for 'I will speak only with Braveheart.' It seems rather strange if you ask me.”
“I'll be right there,” Braveheart agreed.
“Thank you,” the head guard said. “We'll be expecting you.” Braveheart hung up the phone and carefully moved Blazing's head aside. He stood up and slung his shoulder pack around his back. He was about to walk out the door when Sunset came down the stairs.
“Braveheart, where are you going?” she quietly asked. Braveheart turned around.
“The head guard of the Canterlot Humane Asylum called me,” Braveheart explained. “He said that the pony who attacked me on the train wishes to speak with me. I won't be gone long. I promise.”
“Please be careful,” Sunset pleaded. “You don't know what that guy could be up to. And...I can't lose you.”
“It's OK,” Braveheart said. “I'll be back before Blazing's bedtime.” Braveheart kissed Sunset on the cheek and walked out the door. Sunset wrapped her arms around herself as Braveheart took off for the Humane Asylum. She hoped the best for him and shut the door.

“I will ask you the same thing,” a Canterlot interrogator said. “Who do you work for?”
“And my answer will be the same,” the hooded pony said. “I will speak only with Braveheart.” The hooded pony was being interrogated in one of the interrogation rooms of the Canterlot Humane Asylum, but the guards were getting nowhere. The hooded pony wouldn't budge on his urge to speak with Braveheart, despite the guards refusing it. This had gone on for an hour before the guards finally snapped. The head guard called up Braveheart and asked him to come down to the asylum. Braveheart arrived at 5 PM. The head guard was waiting for him.
“Ah, Braveheart,” he said. “Glad you could make it. This way.” Braveheart and the head guard walked into the asylum. Braveheart was led through the corridors, with deranged criminals in their cells.
“How much information have you been able to acquire?” Braveheart asked.
“None at all,” the head guard replied. “The assailant has been extremely stubborn, even with our most experienced interrogators.”
“Could you even find out the pony's gender?”
“Surprisingly, no. The criminal has refused to tell us anything at all. No gender, not who he works for, nothing. We're just assuming it's a male for convenience sake.”
“I see.” Braveheart and the head guard approached the door to the interrogation observation room. The head guard opened the door as the interrogator stormed out of the room where the convict was.
“It's hopeless!” he stormed. “He won't say a thing!”
“Calm down,” the head guard said. “We'll get our answers. Braveheart just arrived.”
“Maybe he'll have better luck,” another interrogator said.
“I doubt it,” the angry one scoffed. “I'm going home.” The interrogator slammed the door shut, causing a few guards to wince.
“Don't worry about him,” the head guard said to Braveheart. “He's been known to have an explosive temper. Good luck in there. He's already killed two of our best.” Braveheart nodded and walked into the interrogation room. The hooded pony was handcuffed to the bloody table. Braveheart stealthily undid the fastener holding his revolver in place and sat down, crossing his fingers and placing his hands on the table.
“Hello there,” he said, keeping his composure. “I am Braveheart. You wished to speak with me.”
“Indeed,” the assailant confirmed. “These matters are personal between you and I. I will not speak to anypony else.” Braveheart caught the assailant's drift and looked towards the hidden observation window.
“Turn off the speakers and close the window blinds,” he ordered.
“I'm afraid that cannot happen,” the head guard said. “We must listen to...”
“Do it,” Braveheart firmly said. “Leave the room until I have finished. That is an order.” There was a brief silence.
“Very well,” the head guard agreed. Braveheart waited a moment until he was sure all of the guards had left the observation room. He turned back to the assailant.
“Let's get right to it, shall we,” he suggested. “Who do you work for?”
“I work for Millennium,” the assailant said.
“What is Millennium?” Braveheart questioned.
“A lost organization that I took an interest to,” the assailant explained. “It focused on bringing about humanity's end, but it had reasons for doing so. I took an interest to their reasons, and I've followed their ways for years.”
“I see. Would you mind removing your hood for me?” Braveheart felt an anger coming from the assailant.
“If I do, you must not tell anypony who I am,” the assailant said.
“No promises,” Braveheart shrugged. The assailant sighed heavily and leaned forward. He engulfed his magic aura around his hood and removed it, as well as a mask around his face. The light shone onto the assailant's face, and Braveheart's eyes went wide at who he saw. A white unicorn with a curled purple and pink mane came into Braveheart's vision. Her sea green eyes pierced through his own.
“Sweetie Belle?!” Braveheart raged. “It was you?!”
“Yes,” Sweetie Belle said. “I work for Millennium.”
“Why?” Braveheart fumed.
“After the disbandment of the Assassins, Rarity showed me her work,” Sweetie Belle said. “I worked with her in the Boutique for a good while, but then she found my hidden blade. She scolded me for keeping a weapon in the shop, and she banned me from even touching a sewing needle. I was outraged. I crept downstairs when she was asleep and took the blade back. I took it apart and modified it to be even more deadly. I enchanted it with magic to give whoever was wounded by it a false sense of confidence when going to the doctor for inspection. The wound would appear uninfected if untreated, and the victim would eventually die from magic poisoning. I wanted to make Rarity suffer for confiscating my only means of defense, so I made that mask and hood that night and stabbed Rarity multiple times in her sleep. She woke up, of course, but I hopped out the window and ran off before she could see who did it. I hid the new knife and my mask and cloak in my room and walked up to Rarity the next morning. She seemed to have calmed down, and she showed me how to sew without a needle. Of course, that proved extremely difficult; Rarity's way of punishing me. She suffered and died from the poisoning after a few days. I've been running the shop ever since, using a disguise spell to assume Rarity's form and voice.”
“I thought you were better than this,” Braveheart stormed.
“I found out about Millennium shortly after,” Sweetie Belle continued. “I followed in their ways, until I was led to you. You ruined me by taking me out. I'm surprised you haven't died yet.”
“I got the wound treated by a paramedic,” Braveheart said. “Doctor Redheart took a look at the wound, and you're right that it doesn't infect. But I got it treated, so I'm not dead.”
“Such a shame, too,” Sweetie Belle murmured, shaking her head. “I could have stalled the guards for such a long time, and they would have never found out.” Braveheart stood up, furious.
“You could have lived a better life,” he said. “Next time, check your privilege.” Sweetie Belle put her mask back on and pulled the hood back over her head. Braveheart spawned in a magic restraint and slipped it over Sweetie Belle's horn, cutting off her magic. He pulled her enchanted knife from her cloak. He left the interrogation room and shut the door. He opened up the blinds and turned the speakers back on in the observation room, then opened the door. The guards were waiting for him outside.
“Well?” the head guard asked.
“The assailant is sentenced to a lifetime in maximum security,” Braveheart said, neither breaking pace nor turning his head. “Let her rot with the mask and hood on.”
“Very well,” the head guard said. Braveheart left the building and flew back home. He walked inside and sat down at the table. He pinched between his eyes and gave a heavy sigh.
“Glad you made it within your promised time frame,” Sunset said, sitting down.
“Oh, shut up,” Braveheart said.
“So what happened at the asylum?”
“You won't believe who the assailant was.”
“Who?”
“It was Sweetie Belle.”
“What?!” Sunset gasped.
“She killed her sister with an enchanted knife and started following in Millennium's ways,” Braveheart said. He took out the knife and laid it down on the table. He charged up a spell and incinerated the knife.
“Braveheart, these recent attacks aren't normal,” Sunset worried. “I'm afraid that there's something much bigger going on that we don't know about.” Braveheart and Sunset thought about this. What could be going on in Equestria?
