Chapter 12: The Test

Luna pulled you in close to her, nearly crushing you with her Alicorn strength, and she began to make her way down your body when your brain finally started working again. You quickly pushed Luna back, making sure to keep her as far away from your waist as possible, and you said the only word you could think of.

"No"

"What?" Luna asked with a confused look on her face.

"I, uh, we, can't do this" you said as you sat up, "I'm not ready for this, and you're a princess"

"So, I'm a princess who loves you" Luna said while moving closer to you.

"True, but you're a powerful Alicorn princess, and I'm just a simple Unicorn"

"But I love you..."

"I know, and I think I love you, but I just can't do this," you turned to face her, "At least not right now"

Luna tried to say something else, but instead she just pulled you into a deep hug, and she cried. It felt as if your heart was snapping in two, but you knew this was the smart thing to do, and you were about to say something to comfort her when the door suddenly slammed open. Standing there was Celestia, and she had a gigantic smile on her face.

"I take it he passed the test?" she asked as she entered the room.

"Yes," Luna answered between sobs, "Yes he did"

"Wonderful, I knew the plan would work in the end"

"What plan?" you asked, now confused as to what was going on.

"My sister said that if you really loved me, then you wouldn't want to do this with me" Luna said as she let go of you.

"So this was a setup?"

"Yes" Celestia answered while grabbing a box of tissues out of Luna's bathroom.

"Is Forrest involved?"

"No, he was just lucky enough to have been the one to find you," Celestia replied as she walked towards the door, "Now if you'll excuse me, I still have to get my reward"

"What?"

"She's, um..." Luna started.

"She's what?"

"Forrest's tree was the reward she was talking about" Luna blushed slightly.

"So the stories were true, about what your sister does to stallions?"

"Yes," Luna said as she moved close to you again, "Enough about that, I think it's time we talked about us"

You woke up the next morning in a giant bed all by yourself. At first you couldn't remember where you were, but the moons on the bed sheets and wall made it fairly obvious that you were in Luna's room, so you quickly hopped out of the bed to go look for her. It didn't take long to find her, as she was outside standing next to Celestia with their horns glowing, so you guessed that they were raising the sun and setting the moon to start the new day. After a few minutes their horns stopped glowing and they turned around to see you leaning against the door frame.

"Good morning Silver" Celestia said as she took flight, "I would love to talk to you, but I must be off" She didn't stay very long after saying that, and withing moments she was completely gone, no sign of where she went. After deciding that it was pointless to try and find her in the sky, you turned to Luna, who was blushing again.

"Something up?" you asked.

"Well, uh," Luna looked down as she replied, "Celestia told me how to make your horn feel better"

"What?"

"Well, last night you said you hurt your horn, so she told me how to make it feel better"

"Really?" you said, happy to hear that the pain could go away soon, "So how do you heal it?" Luna didn't respond, but instead motioned for you to follow her, which you did happily. When she patted her bed you took that as a sign that you had to go onto the bed, so you did, and then Luna pushed you back, turning you ever so slightly so that your horn was pointing off the bed. Suddenly you felt a weird, somewhat wet, feeling on your horn, and when you looked in the mirror that was on the other side of the room you jumped up, trying your hardest to not hit Luna with your horn.

"Was I not doing it right?" Luna asked with a sad look on her face.

"Um, Luna..."

"Yes?"

"Your sister just tricked you"

"How?"

You made a motion for her to lean in so you could tell her in a whisper, not wanting to say it out loud fearing that someone might hear it. Luna's reaction was what you expected it to be, disgust and anger, so you quickly put your forelegs on her shoulders.

"Don't go yelling at her" you said in a calm voice.

"But she wanted me to give you a horn j..." Luna trailed off, not able to say it.

"It's fine, your sister was just having a bit of fun," you pulled her into a hug, "Do you have any tissues?"

"No, Celestia took them last night, but why do you need them?" All you did was point at your saliva covered horn in response, and Luna understood what you meant. "They should still be in her room, I can take you over if you want"

"Thanks, that would be awesome"

"Okay, just give me a second," Luna said as she moved out to her balcony, and then crouched down, her flank sticking up, "Hop on, I'll let you ride me over there"

"Wha..." was all you could manage to say, as your brain decided to stop working again, but you quickly came back, "Oh, uh, yeah, just give me a sec" You quickly ran over to her side and then climbed onto her back, which was surprisingly large. She quickly checked to make sure you were holding on, and then she took off, doing a few loops around her tower before she made her way to Celestia's balcony.

You climbed off and made your way to the door, which was thankfully unlocked, but you never went inside. Before the door had even opened half way you shut it, afraid of what you had seen.

"Something the matter?" Luna asked.

"Let's not go in there"

"Why not, don't you need the tissues?"

"No, I'm good, I think I can live with it," you said as you walked away from the door, "Here, let's go, I don't want to stay here"

"Um, okay, but what was in there that made you change your mind so suddenly?"

"You don't want to know, trust me" you said as you climbed back on, getting ready for her to take off again. Just before you left you thought you had heard Forrest groan, but you knew he wasn't going anywhere for a while. Your thoughts were now focused on what you and Luna, who was now flying away from the castle and towards Ponyville, had talked about the previous night.

"Silver!" Scootaloo yelled as she ran towards you. Within moments you had a little orange Pegasus hanging from your neck, hugging you as hard as she could.

"Hey Scoots" you said as you hugged her back.

"Where were you?!"

"I was, uh..." you weren't sure what to say, knowing that it might not make sense to her, seeing as you still didn't exactly know what happened either.

"He was with me" Luna said from beside you.

"Oh, uh, hi princess" Scootaloo said as she bowed down.

"There is no need for that Scootaloo," Luna said as she put one of her wings across your back, "I think we're close enough now"

"Ohmygosh!" Scootaloo shouted, "Does this mean I'm a princess now?!"

"Possibly, but we'd still have to get married first"

"But I thought you guys were getting married?"

"Not yet Scootaloo," you said as you started to walk towards your house, "Maybe in a few months though" You turned around in time to see Scootaloo jump onto Luna, giving her a hug of her own, and the hug was returned by Luna. You wanted to run over to them and join in, but you knew that would only make things awkward.

"WHAT THE HAY?!"

Everypony quickly turned towards the sudden shout, only to find Diamond Tiara standing there, her face contorted into a scowl. "Why does the chicken get to be so close to the princess?!" Tiara said as she began to cry, "It's not fair!" Before anypony could say something she ran off.

"Is something the matter?" Luna asked, "Should we go talk to her?"

"No it's fine," you turned towards Luna, "It's just Diamond Tiara"

"But she looked so sad"

"Don't worry about it, she'll get over it eventually, she just overreacts to everything"

"Ugh, what a Drama Queen" you heard somepony say from behind you, "Oh hello Silver, it's good that you're back"

"Oh, hi Rarity" you replied.

"Yes hello, now that you're back, I can finally be rid of these destructive fillies!" she said as she levitated Applebloom and Sweetie Belle out of your house, "Here take them, you know how to deal with them better than me!" Rarity didn't even wait for a response, and after she tossed the two fillies at you she quickly ran towards the Ponyville spa as fast as she could.

"What was that about?" you asked the three fillies.

"We kinda got her to watch us while you were gone" Scootaloo said first.

"Yeah, and then we decided to stay at your place so we would see you when you got back" Sweetie Belle continued.

"And we were really crazy" Applebloom said as the three of them looked at the ground in shame.

"Well, it's good to know that you guys haven't changed at all" you said as you turned back towards your house, "Shall we go inside? I want to know what I've missed these past few days"

"Okay!" Scootaloo quickly said as she ran past you into the house, but she quickly turned around, "So, are you and Luna dating?"

"I would like to think so" you said as Luna nuzzled your neck lovingly.

"That is so cool!" the three fillies said in unison.

"It's good to see that she doesn't mind me being your special somepony" Luna whispered into your ear.

"It's fine, I'm sure everypony would love to find out their dad was dating the princess of the moon"

"I guess" Luna said with a giggle.

"Shall we go inside my lady?" you said while bowing down.

"Oh, why of course my good sir" Luna replied as she made her way inside.

"Ew, I think they might have had some love posion or something" Scootaloo said from the doorway to the living room.

"Uh, oh..." Applebloom said quietly.

"I think we're fine, so how's school been?" you said as you sat in a chair.

"Good, Miss Cheerilee is teaching again" Sweetie Belle answered.

"Okay, anything interesting happen in town?"

"Well, Big Mac confessed to Fluttershy two days ago" Applebloom said with a smile.

"Took him long enough, anything else?"

"Nope"

"Okay, so," you said as you leaned forward, "Anything you girls want to know?"

"Yeah!" the three of them said.

"Where to begin..." you trailed off as you tapped your chin in thought.

After that the rest of the day was peaceful, the girls were extremely happy to hear what had led up to your and Luna dating, and about how Celestia had actually gotten mad and dropped you into the Everfree. You made sure to not mention the other things Celestia did, knowing that them hearing those things would scar them for life. At around noon Luna went back to the castle, and you spent the rest of the day helping the crusaders with their cutie marks. By the end of the day it was decided that they were not handyponies, nor were they gardeners, and after they became tired, everypony was put into bed, including yourself. That night you slept peacefully, now happy that your life was going to be somewhat normal from now on.
