Chapter 13: A Drink With Friends

The next morning you woke up to find the Cutie Mark Crusaders attempting to get their "breakfast in bed" cutie mark. You decided against going in to scare them, seeing as Sweetie Belle was holding a pot of soup near Scootaloo. You quickly looked around to find a way to sneak in and grab a bit of bread, but they were everywhere. Just as you started to walk away you were seen by the filly Earth pony.

"Mornin' Silver!"

"Morning Applebloom," you said as the two others turned to see you, "Scootaloo, and Sweetie"

"Morning!" the other two said before they turned back to the now burning breakfast. You decided to go and look at the state of the food, but Applebloom was pushing you out of the kitchen.

"I take it things aren't going well?" you asked as she finally got you out of the door.

"Uh, yeah" she said quietly.

"Okay, well, have fun?" you said as you glanced into the kitchen, "Your brothers at the farm right?"

"Eeyup" Applebloom quickly remembered something, "Oh wait, he might also be at Fluttershy's cottage"

"Oh, I guess he would be there too" you quickly rubbed her head, "Well, she you later, don't make things to messy"

"We won't!" she said as she ran back into the kitchen after hearing Sweetie yelp.

You quickly looked in to see what was going on, only to see them putting out a fire that started on the eggs. After they turned off the stove top you knew there was a very small chance that they weren't going to burn down your house if you left them alone. Before leaving you saw Spike, Twilight's assistant dragon, running towards your house.

"Silver!" he yelled after he saw you.

"Hey Spike, what's up?" you asked as he skidded to a stop in front of you.

"I. Got. A. Letter. For. You" he panted out, nearly choking on his breath.

"Oh, thanks, who's it from?" you asked, even though you knew the answer.

"Princess. Luna"

"Thanks Spike, I'm guessing Twilight sent you over?"

"Yeah, she said it was important" he replied after he caught his breath. You went to open the letter, the moon stamp on it confirmed your suspicions about who it's from, so you quickly took a seat on the stairs outside your house. Just before you opened it Spike quickly asked, "Can I go now?"

"Of course, why would you have to stay?"

"If you had wanted to reply to her"

"No it's fine, if I need to I'll stop by the library later" you replied with a smile. He quickly ran off, obviously happy that he might have a chance that he might be able to get in another hour of sleep. After he was out of sight you opened the letter.

Dear Silver,

I hope this letter gets to you soon, as it is very important that you do get it. Princess Cadance has asked me to get you to come back to Canterlot so that she can meet you. She told me that she would like to meet you after what she has heard from me and Shining Armor. From what my sister has told me, Cadance would just like to figure out if you are right for me or not, and she believes her ability to make people love each other, also means that she would be able to tell me if you really do love me.

Princess Luna

You quickly reread the letter to make sure you had read it right. It was the dreaded sibling interview, something that you had seen many relationships end at. Although you knew that it would be one of the biggest obstacles in your relationship with Luna, you felt happy that it was going to happen. No matter how much you thought about it you never found out why you were happy about it, but you didn't really care either way. You knew it would all be fine in the end. You had thought about writing the reply letter right then, but you had to go and tell your friends about your new relationship, starting with Big Mac.

After Applejack had told you that Big Mac had gone to see Fluttershy earlier that morning you made your way to her cottage. As you got closer you heard Big Mac's telltale laugh coming from inside. You knocked on the door, which had scared Fluttershy, or so you guessed as you heard her squeak. A few seconds later the door opened, Big Mac standing on the other side.

"Morning Mac" you said when he looked down at you.

"Mornin'" he moved you to let you inside, "What brings you here?"

"I had come to talk to you actually"

"About what?"

"Me and Luna"

"What's going on with Luna?" Fluttershy said from her couch, obviously interested in what you had to say.

"Well, where to start..." you said as you sat down on another couch.

"Well, what's happening with the wedding?" Fluttershy asked.

"It's not happening"

"Oh..." her face dropped.

"Well, not now at least, but we're still going to be together"

"Dating?" Big Mac asked as he nuzzled Fluttershy so she would cheer up.

"Yeah, but the way we figured it out was really weird"

"Why was it weird?"

"Well..." you then proceeded to tell them about the weird plan Celestia had created.

"Wow, that was a very..." Big Mac said as you finished, "Interesting story"

"Yeah" Fluttershy said quietly.

"So, any news on what happened to Forrest?" Big Mac asked.

"No, but I'm sure he's fine, I think I heard him moan as Luna took off"

"Oh dear..." Fluttershy mumbled.

"Don't worry, he's been through worse things, trust me"

"Oh, okay..."

"So, Mac, I was wondering if you would want to go get a drink with me," you said as you looked at the two of them on the couch, "but it  looks like you have other plans"

"Eeyup, maybe next time though"

"Sounds good, for now, I'll go and find Whooves, I know he'll have free time" you said as you made your way towards the door.

"Thanks for stopping by" Fluttershy said just before you went out the door. You didn't say anything back as you didn't want to keep them from being alone for much longer.

"Dinky stop throwing things at me!" you heard Whooves yell when you got to his house. You knocked on his door, expecting to hear him yell towards you, but instead the door opened, with his marefriend Derpy standing on the other side.

"Hi!" she said happily, a giant smile on her face.

"Hi, is the Doctor in?"

"Yeah, just a second, you can go wait on the couch over there if you want"

"Thanks" you said as you made your way to the couch she mentioned. You didn't have to wait long for her to return with Whooves, who had a filly Unicorn hanging from his neck laughing happily. After Derpy pulled the Unicorn off of him he came over to talk to you.

"So, what's up?" he asked as he flopped onto the couch next to you.

"Not much, but, I was wondering if wanted to go get a drink"

"What's the occasion?"

"Me and Luna going steady"

"I thought you two were getting married?"

"It's a long story, want to hear it over a cider?"

"Sounds good, let me go tell Derpy I'll be going out, then we can go" he said as he ran into the room he had come out of. You heard a few cries from the filly, who obviously didn't want him to go, but he still came out a few minutes later.

"She didn't want you to go?"

"No, she was having fun throwing her toys at me," he pulled a toy chariot out of his hair, "Apparently my cutie mark should have been 'target practice' or something"

You laughed as you made your way to the door, thinking of where to go. Within minutes you and him were downing mug after mug of cider at the usual drinking place. Between drinks you told him what happened between you and Luna, to everypony's surprise, since everypony could hear your story thanks to the cider progressively raising your volume.

Around an hour of drinking you were interrupted by a hoof on your shoulder. Sadly your drunken happiness quickly disappeared when you turned around to find out who it was. Shining Armor, your friend and Captain of the Royal Guard, was standing behind you, with a rather large frown on his face.

"You should come with me" he said in a very serious tone. Of course you in your drunken state you weren't able to think correctly.

"Why?" you asked stupidly, grinning at him. He didn't answer you, but instead he just dragged you out of the bar, leaving Whooves to pick up the tab.

"What the hell are you doing?" Shining Armor shouted at you after he dragged you behind the bar.

"Well I was drinking with one of my other friends, but then you showed up and dragged me out here" you said.

"I could see that, but you were saying some things that you shouldn't have been saying"

"What, about how me and Luna are dating?"

"No, what you were saying about Celestia"

"That she had wild sex with Forrest?"

"Yes!"

"Well, I had to tell Whooves what happened, and it was part of the story" you answered, your drunken happiness now returning.

"Oh shut up!" he shouted at you as you stupidly grinned back at him, "You have no idea what this means for us!"

"Does it mean you guys can make some money off Celestia's fun?" you asked stupidly.

"I SAID SHUT UP!" he shouted, raising his hoof up to show you he was serious, "Oh fuck"

"What?"

"The night guards have shown up, and they're looking for you!"

"Silver Star! You're coming with us!" one of the night guards shouted as they landed their chariot.

"They don't sound happy" you said as they landed in front of you and Shining Armor.

"Shining Armor, what are you doing with him?" one of the night guards asked.

"Well, I was here to collect him, as he was making Princess Celestia look bad" Shining Armor replied in his guard voice.

"We know for a fact that Celestia doesn't know of this yet," the night guard said menacingly, "So what are you doing here?"

"I'm also friends with most of the guards here in town, so they told me what was happening"

"Lies, what are you trying to hide from us?"

"Nothing, I was here to take him in myself!"

"Do you think me daft?!" the night guard shouted, "I'm the Captain of the night guard, I know you're friends with this idiot!"

"Hey!" you shouted, getting everypony's attention, "I'm not shtupid" Nopony said anything after that. Instead one of the other night guards lowered his head, his horn beginning to glow, and next thing you knew you were on the ground, unable to move.

"Did you just paralyze him?!" Shining shouted.

"Yes, and now it's your turn" the night Captain said as his subordinate fired a spell at Shining.

"Son of a bitch!" Shining shouted as he fell to the ground, hitting his head on a trash can in the process. After that you blacked out, partly due to the Cider, but mostly thanks to one of the night guards whacking your head against the side of the chariot they were putting you into so they could cart you off to the castle.
