Shinobi Of The Sword
Chapter One
Load Full StoryNext ChapterAmegakure, The village hidden by rain was always raining. The clouds always were dark over the village never letting in sunlight. The village was composed of tall towering buildings. Because of Amegakure's location between three of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, it has frequently served as a battleground during the various ninja wars, making most of its population war refugees. Amegakure has adopted a heavy isolationist policy because of this, leading to the village's defences being abnormally impenetrable. To be admitted to the village, visitors, even those coming for Chūnin Exams held in Amegakure, must go through a number of security checks and are under constant surveillance during their stay.
Amegakure was led for many years by Hanzō, a notoriously powerful shinobi; during the Second Shinobi World War where he slaughtered an entire Konoha platoon, sparing only the young Sannin. Despite his power, Hanzō was deeply paranoid and would rarely appear in public for fear of being assassinated. When, during the Third Shinobi World War, a group called Akatsuki began advocating for peace between the warring Konoha, Iwa, and Suna, Hanzō interpreted this as a threat to his rule. Claiming to be interested in cooperating with Akatsuki, Hanzō, with support from Danzō, ambushed Akatsuki's three primary members and attempted to kill them all. After Akatsuki's leader, Yahiko, died, Nagato retaliated and slaughtered all of Hanzō's men, though Hanzō himself escaped.
At some point after the end of the war, a civil war broke out in the village to remove Hanzō from power. Led by an individual known only as "Pain", the rebel faction symbolized their rejection of Hanzō by placing a horizontal slash across their forehead protector. With Pain's near-godly power and rumors that he was multiple people, Hanzō and his forces were overthrown, with Pain being the one to personally kill Hanzō. Pain then went on to kill anyone even remotely connected to Hanzō, from close family to distant acquaintances, so that none would ever emerge to take revenge. Despite this, loyalists to Hanzō still emerged from time to time, though all were crushed by Pain......except for one.
The sound of battle cold be heard off in the distance of the village with thunder accompanying the battle. Two figures could be seen fighting with one and another. The two would trade blow for blow with neither gaining the upper hand on the other. The two continued for a while longer with neither slowing down even as rain poured down on them. The two figures thrust their fists forward slamming them against each other just as thunderstruck. Once done the two jumped back away from each other a hundred yards away from each other. Both of them stared at one and another.
The first figure he wore a long black robe with a red line running down the centre along with armour that covered only his mid-section with a pouch attached to it with red clouds on it. His eyes were light purple with a ripple-pattern that spread over the eyeball. The figure hair was medium length spiky orange hair. He also had six piercings, a metal bar through each ear, three studs through the side of its upper nose, and one spike stud on each end of the bottom lip. It also had three piercings on each wrist, at least, one on its upper wrist and some just under his neck. On his right thumb, he wore a purplish-grey Akatsuki ring that bore the kanji for zero. This figure was Pain.
"You quite strong.....Devil Takeshi." Pein spoke as he stared emotionlessly at Takeshi.
The other figure named Takeshi stared at Pein.
Takeshi wore a black tight-fitting sleeveless shirt with a hood attached to it and was over his head. On his lower body, he wore dark black pants that went all the way down to his feet and were tucked into the black boots he wore. He also had white bandages wrapped around the part that would have shown skin. The bandages even led up to his clothes giving a suggestion he had bandages under his clothes. On top of the bandages on his arms, he wore black arm covers extending from his hands to his biceps. His face was even covered in bandages with a blank hunter mask on his face hiding his entire face including his eyes. On his back was
Takeshi didn't say a word as he stared at the supposed 'god'.
"Do you hate me?"
Instead of answering Takeshi glanced around the field they fought. Kind of ironic since it was the same place where his father tried to kill a group called Akatsuki that in his own words threatened his rule. It was also the day his father died. Looking around, he saw there were gigantic craters in the ground where the two clashed each other. Glancing back, he saw Pein raised his hand pointed upwards towards the sky.
Takeshi watched as his opponent closed his hand and saw the never ending rain stopped while the dark clouds remained. Takeshi glanced up with a look of curiosity in his eyes. How could one person stop the rain? The rain that never stopped despite how much it was researched into? Glancing back at his opponent who lowered his hand back to his side.
"Now do you see? This is the power of a god." There was no mocking or taunting in his voice but a simple statement.
"....."
"Now you know it is foolishness to fight me."
Takeshi reply was to throw a kunai at Pein aimed for his throat which Pein caught in between with his fingers with ease. Takeshi rushed towards Pein who simply stood there with his usual emotionless expression. WhenTakeshi was in front of him he threw a right punch at Pein who simply cocked his head to the side causing it whizz right by him. Immediately following it was another fist which Pein dodged as well. Takeshi growled as he threw fist after fist at Pein who simply dodged it with ease. Throwing one more fist, Pein dodged it though Takeshi planted his right hand on the ground and spun on it throwing a kick aimed for Pein throat. Pein bent his body backwards causing the kick to go past him while he spun on his hands and kicked Takeshi in the side causing him to skid backwards a few feet. Glancing back at with eyes narrowed Takeshi rushed towards him again while Pein simply raised a hand pointing it with his palm facing towards him.
"Almighty push."
Takeshi felt a great pressure on his body as if gravity itself pushed against him. The pressure soon became too much and sent him flying backwards causing him to slam on the ground and skid backwards while rolling through the ground causing rock and earth to fly everywhere. His body stopped with half his body buried in rubble. Letting out a groan he slowly stood up causing dirt and rocks on him to fall off.
"Did you think someone who can't use Jutsu would be able to stop me?"
Damn. He was right. Takeshi was able to use Jutsu once. That all changed however when he was wounded in a fight and almost died. Just thinking of it caused him to rub his throat where his scar was. Perhaps it was a good thing anyway. He wasn't even that good with Jutsu but instead practice his taijutsu.
"In the end, it doesn't matter. Today, the last of Hanzo's family dies."
This Pein killed his entire family. Not just the man but the woman and children. He slaughtered them all including those associated with Hanzo and his family. War was never easy. The thought of killing those who weren't on a battlefield was wrong. He felt his hand tighten on the sheath of his sword. He wanted to draw it and kill this demon. He wouldn't draw it though because of the oath he made that day. It also wouldn't matter anyway. This Pein was too strong for him. Nonetheless, he wouldn't give up anyway. A warrior will always fight to the last even against the odds......and to the death. Letting go of his sword, he glanced once more at this Pein.
"It's time for you to be gone."
Takeshi watched as five figures appeared next to his enemy with all of them having orange hair except for one though they all did have the same eyes. What the hell was going on here? They weren't clones. Were they all from the same clan? Glancing over at the bald one he saw the man was tall, bald with an unusual body shape, possessing a very thick neck, no ears and a large jaw. On his nose was a vertical ring piercing while six spike studs were all over his head, three studs on the top and bottom of each of its six arms, an enormous cylindrical stud on its chin, and two vertical studs on each of its upper cheeks.
The next person had a long ponytail with a fringe hanging down from the right side of his head. Looking closer he had a large bridge piercing through its upper nose which was attached on each cheek with a circular stud, one stud on its upper nose, six studs around the bottom of its face, and one stud on each ear. He also didn't appear to have eyebrows either.
The third one was a tall, slender man with long orange hair that parted at his shoulders. He had multiple piercings, including a diagonal bar through its nose, two circular studs in a vertical row on each of its cheeks, two studs placed horizontally on its chin, and a stud on each of its shoulders.
The fourth was a stocky man with his hair tied in a short ponytail. He had small spiked piercings covering his entire bottom lip, two vertical spike studs on the front of his nose, one spike stud on each cheek, a spike going through each ear and a stud on each of his shoulders, close to his neck.
The final person was a tall, stocky, dark-skinned man. He had multiple piercings, such as a circular stud on the bridge of its nose, a diagonal row of studs on each of its cheeks, three spike piercings in each of its ears, and a stud on each of its shoulders near its neck.
Takeshi glanced at each of them from left to right. Something was definitely wrong here. His instincts were screaming at him.
Three of them to rushing towards him while they also appeared to have summoned some black spikes out of their hands. Takeshi ducked under the first attack and countered with a fist only to jump back to avoid a spike that would have pierced his throat. As he landed, Takeshi moved to the side as one of the figures aimed a kick for his back. Grabbing the extended leg, Takeshi spun and slammed the figure into the ground causing the ground to crack. Pulling a kunai out he intended to kill the person only to jump back as the other two jumped towards him. He felt a foot connect with his back sending him forward just for one of them to slam a fist into his chin knocking him upwards. Takeshi opened his eyes slowly just as three of the figures jumped down from above him holding those black rods. Takeshi watched as they came closer to him while he simply closed his eyes knowing he wouldn't be able to dodge them.
Takeshi felt the rods slam into his skin and he felt nothing else after that.
Darkness covered Takeshi vision. He seemed to be falling through an endless void. He looked around, wondering where he was. Then he waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. The more he waited, the more nervous he became. Just as he was about to shout out in annoyance, he then saw a bright light headed his way. The light became brighter, and brighter, and brighter until it became so bright that he had to shield his eyes. Then everything went black.
When he came to, he was greeted with the feeling of soft grass. Bright light filled his vision. When he adjusted to the light, he sat up and scanned his surroundings. He seemed to be in a forest filled with dark, weird looking plants. The forest gave off an uneasy feeling like it was watching his every movement. He then stood up slowly.
'Where am I?' Questions were buzzing through Takeshi head like a bunch of angry bees. He would need to look for civilization if he were to gather information about this unknown forest.
Before he could think more he suddenly heard some screaming coming from somewhere in the forest. He sprinted towards the direction the screams came from. Barking and growling could be heard from the same direction. He tripled his speed, not wanting to see three little girls (based on the screams, it sounded like girls) killed by wolves.
When he made it to the clearing, he was shocked to see five wooden wolves growling up at a tree. Must be where the girls are located. Rushing towards the first one he threw his right fist where it connected with one of the wolves heads causing a loud crack that sounded throughout the area. The branches that made up its body flew through the air, one of them embedding itself into a nearby tree, nearly piercing itself through the entire trunk. The body stood there for a few moments before falling over with green blood coming out of it. It took a moment for the wolves to realize what had just happened, looking around at the body of their fallen comrade in surprise before turning their attention back towards the one who killed their comrade.
Takeshi just stared at the rest of them with cold emotionless eyes that caused them to step back in fear though they were still growling. Takeshi stared at them for a few more moments before disappearing from their vision though he just sprinted over at them and was standing behind the wolves who looked confused. Takeshi tapped one of them on its shoulder causing it to yip in fear before turning around along with the rest of them.
Takeshi eyes seemed to become even darker as he stared down at the timberwolves who stopped their growling and were whimpering. The wolfs wasted no time, letting out loud whimpers as they made a heel turn and ran for their lives. Takeshi stared at them to make sure they were long done before sighing and glanced over at the tree where he was sure the three girls were in. Before he could say anything, he heard multiple footsteps coming towards the clearing. With little time, he rushed back into the darkness of the forest. 'Can't let anyone spot me.' he thought to himself. But before he could run any further, he heard a different voice speaking with a worried tone.
"Are you three OK!?"
Curious as to what village they belonged to, Takeshi hid in a bush and looked back into the clearing only to be slightly surprised.
Takeshi stared at these creatures he never has seen before.
The first had ears were pointy and on the top of its head. It's pink skin turned out to be a pink coat of fur that covered its entire body, and its face appeared to resemble that of a horse’s muzzle, along with that, instead of feet it had hoofs.
Looking at the others, he saw they were the same only with them having different fur and hair. Another had purple fur and a horn on top it's head with a violet mane and tail, with a pink stripe running down them.
The third had an orange mane with a yellow mane and tail in a ponytail while also wearing an old Stetson.
The fourth had yellow fur and her mane and tail were a light pink colour.
The fifth had cyan fur with a rainbow mane and tail.
The last one had white fur with a horn and a deep purple mane and tail.
'What summons are these?'
He watched as three small ones climbed down from the tree. So perhaps they were children?
The first one had a cherry mane and tail, orange eyes, peach fur, and a pink bow atop her head. The second one, a unicorn, had pink and purple swirled mane and tail, light green coloured eyes, and snowy fur. The last one, a pegasus, had a violet mane and tail with eyes to match, and tangerine fur.
The peach filly replied,"Yeah, we're fine."
"Are you sure? You're not hurt, are you Applebloom!?" worried the bright orange pony.
"Don't worry Applejack, we're alright. It's not like we were eaten alive or anything." said Applebloom.
"Well, excuse me for worrying about my little sis."Applejack said as she hugged Applebloom.
"Hey Squirt, you alright?" said the rainbow pony.
The orange coated filly then jumped into the air, making a buzzing noise with her wings as she flapped them as fast as she can. "You bet,
Rainbow Dash. You know nothing can take Scootaloo down!" boasted the filly.
Rainbow Dash replied," That's what I'm talking about."
"Oh, Sweetie Belle. Did those nasty timberwolves mess up your beautiful mane?" asked the white unicorn.
"Yes, thank you Rarity" replied Sweetie Belle.
"Yo Twilight, whatcha looking at?" asked Rainbow Dash as she landed next to Twilight.
"Looking at this timberwolf. Its head was completely separated from its body."
'She's a clever one, isn't she?' Takeshi asked himself from his hiding spot.
"Well whatever it was, let's hope it doesn't return while we're still here." said Rarity.
"Yeah, let's get out of here. This place gives me the creeps." Rainbow Dash claimed.
As the ponies made their way back to Ponyville, they were unaware of the figure hiding in the bushes.
Takeshi sat in silence as he watched the figures walk away from the clearing.
"So, Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo, huh?" Takeshi said to himself as he walked out from his hiding spot still staring towards where the creatures walked off. He turned and jumped into one of the trees and leaned his back against the trunk once getting into a comfortable spot. Reaching behind he grasped his sword and brought it to his front and lay it across his lap before slowly closing his eyes and falling asleep.
It seemed that he wasn't dead just yet.
