Tale Of Tail Winds and Scooters (Re-edited)
Two Ships flew over the Everfree forest stopping near the outskirts of town. Dropping their respective Tenno. The ashy grey and fire orange Ember landed gracefully, and Zephyr Floated slowly enjoying the Equestrian air. Ember sucked the clear air through her intake, and her entire frame lit up with bright, healthy flames.
"So you feel it too huh?" The dark purple and Black Frame asked as she effortlessly hung and hovered around her friend.
"YES! it's like this place is so clean so and fresh I think my efficiency went up five ticks." Ember balled her fists and flexed her arms.
"I know right!" Zephyr squealed. "I could just, OH!" She took off into the air suddenly leaving her Firey sister to attempt to yell after, her.
"Wait you know where we're going you featherbrained Frame!" Ember looked around at the unfamiliar scenery "What do I do now!" The directionally challenged Tenno growled at the world around her. A couple ponies looked at her direction but quickly made themselves scares fearing the new firey monster would wreck the area.
"Ordis has told the operator to fix her mapping systems." Her Ordis told her passive aggressively.
"I know, I know but a lot of the time I just follow the others and were fine!" She whined. The Cephalon huffed
"Then why not Call the other Tenno." He suggested.
"No they'll just keep making jokes!" she shook a fist at no one imparticular. Ordis sighed the only one who ever said anything was Volt. But his operator wouldn't have listened even if Ordis had spoken that particular line of thought for she was already storming off.
Zephyr zipped through the air gleefully almost effortlessly. The air felt charged and alive as if brushed against her frame. It felt so good like a gentle and warm hand that greeted her with each pulse of her Tall wind. Before she even realized the solar cycle had ended. She looked around seeing the orange sky and landed on a roof to look around. She remembered where she was supposed to be going and pouted seeing it was half the town away.
"Oh, Ember we're so far away." She pouted then realization struck her when she was met with silence. "Ember?" she looked around her "Oh she's gonna be mad at me." Zephyr shrunk a little on her perch. When a rustling sound caught her ears. She looked down into the dirty ally to see something small and orange. She watched the little orange filly knock over a can and start rummaging through it.
"Operator, Are you not going to course correct to meet the other Tenno?" Her Ordis said, and she shushed him. "Operator, only you can hear me," Ordis said confused, then looked through her main view. Ordis Brought up the Data showing it was a Pegasus filly. Zephyr hovered slightly above it
"Are you ok little one?" Scootaloo yelled and jumped back shocked as. Her eyes looked over the floating Bird-Frame.
"another one?" she asked in disbelief, and The frame got closer.
"Have you ran into another Zephyr already?" She asked fascinated. She knew other Tenno were planetside but not sure which frames they were using.
"No, but you're a Warframe right?" Scootaloo asked, and Zephyr nodded happily, If not a bit goofily. The Frame tilted her head looking at the filly Noticing her little wings.
"Your widdle wings are just adorable." The second the words entered the air Scoots tried to hide her wings and looked upset. She tried to hide it in anger.
"Ya what of them!" she said defensively. Zephyr as bird-brained as he was noticed the fillies distress.
"I'm sorry I didn't know you were sensitive about your wings."
"well, maybe you should wait before calling out Features on ponies you never met before!" Scoots let out harshly, and the frame recoiled. The Frame waved her arms, and a mini tornado lifted the filly off the ground, with a cry. Into her arms as she floated gently to the ground. Once they rested against the ally wall Scoots looked into the beak-like helmet of the frame. Zephyr held up her arm, and Scootaloo noticed the blackfin like feathers that trailed off the arms of the frame.
"These are my wings and feathers pretty weird right?" Scootaloo reached a hoof out and touched them marveling at the weird leathery feel of them. "Yet I can still fly. Maybe you just need some guidance. Whats your name?"
"Scootaloo."
"Zephyr it's nice to meet you Scootaloo. Where do you live?"
Scootaloo lowered her head, and a worm of worry buried it'self into the frames gut.
"The Orphanage." The filly trailed off slowly.
The word made no sense to the frame until Ordis pulled up a translation "An orphanage is a place children without homes or parents are cared for." It took a second for it to sink in but when it did Ordis had to check the operator's vitals for fear something had snapped.
Outside her mind, the Orange filly was waving a hoof in front of her helmet and beginning to wonder if that slight grinding sound was something to be worried about.
The frame's lights flared softly, and her arms slowly closed around the filly in a hug. Scootaloo squirmed "Celestia for Aliens called Warframes you give a lot of hugs."
"We don't get many chances to be peaceful. We fight for balance and honor but fear going back to sleep when there is peace. For what use is a warframe if there is no war." She pulled her knee's close to her chest and Scootaloo could hear a faint heartbeat.
"What do you mean going back to sleep." The Frame looked off down the ally and held a hand out that shined a light projecting moving images.
"there are hundreds of theories as to why or how the Orokin fell. Scootaloo saw golden halls with ivory walls and ever-flowing water. It reminded her of the Princesse's castle but colder. "But when the Orokin empire fell, The Tenno were hunted and forced to hide in what remained of our home. The Void wrapped us in gold and cold."
The projection showed a gold pod with clear glass and showed Zephyr stepping inside. "And we slept." The image faded to white and Zephyr squeezed the filly a little tighter, but she didn't protest.
"Then the Lotus called on us frantic and worried. So many had died in there sleeping. Others to the Grineer and their blind hatred." The image was blurry, but Scoot could see smoke then the ground rushing up to meet the Tenno in the past. The broken language of the Tall Green monsters with there yellow eyes and misshapen bodies scared Scootaloo. She heard a voice she couldn't understand, but it felt motherly, and it hurt her heart to listen to it with such concern and fear.
A flash of red and a blast of ice and she Recognised Mr. Frost. The Grineer cried out, "Others awoke, and others were fighting.", Zephyr in the video got up and was thrown a weapon. A simple looking curved sword but she wielded it to cut down the monsters. "We reminded them of what we were, Warframes." The video stopped. "I've made friends, and I've lost them. This place feels like a dream untouched by all the horrors of our system. I just pray it stays that way." Scootaloo looked at the Frame holding her and Curled up against her.
"You sound like you've been through so much."
"It is the only life I've known. But we Tenno fight for whats right. That is what makes it worth all of it." She looked down at the little pegasus whose eyes were dropping from the warmth of being held and soft beat of whatever beat inside the Frames chest. She began to hum and old orokin tune. Then softly chanted the unknown lyrics as the filly drifted off to sleep.
Once the song was done and the soft snores fo the filly reached Zephyrs ears she did the first thing that came to mind.
Silently Freak out, She didn't know what to do with a sleeping child. She thought about putting her down but looking at how peaceful she looked the idea seemed monstrous. So she called Ordis for pick up. Softly the ship came in on whispering engines. Once inside Ordis popped up.
"Operator WHY did you *KIDNAPP* Bring the small pony?"
"I don't know I panicked ok!" She yelled while still whispering even though they were on a private link.
"Operator please! we were told to follow all rules and regulations on this planet. The Tenno do not capture nonmarked targets, you simply must put it back." Ordis scolded then saw her hand pull up the options menu. "Operator I swear by the Void you mute me. *I'll shut off every system*"
"Don't worry I'm just turning your volume down a teeny bit" She put two fingers really close together to mime how much she was adjusting "So you don't wake up little bird."
"Little Bird." Ordis asked in Disbelief.
"Ya, I don't know just every time I look at her I just see little bird." She shrugged guiltily. Then looked down at the filly you could almost feel the soft smile radiate from her helm "She's my little bird." Zephyr sat on the ground near one of the orbiters walls, and her lights dimmed. Ordis checked her vitals to find her sleeping or the Tenno equivalent.
"Operator is so strange sometimes." Ordis thought and put the linset in Orbit and went into monitor mode as they drifted around the Green and blue planet.
