When protesters shoot a family just before upload, one of the parents find that not every upload into Equestria seems to go as planned.

Set in the Friendship is Optimal Universe. There are a few flashbacks to before the upload to set the scene, but generally speaking the characters are ponies (or zebras, diamond dogs, griffins, etc.) The worst gore and horror is probably right at the beginning, reflecting the main character's initial brain damaged state. Other than that it probably isn't anything that would be out of place in a D&D setting. Some sex does happen at some points, although most chapters have none. Told in first person perspective.
