The Return of Midnight Sparkle

                                                                                                              Chapter Ten:

                                                                     The search for Midnight Sparkle.

Rarity drove for what seemed like hours yet was only twenty minutes an eerie silence had fallen over the group of friends as she drove the car. Fluttershy looked out the window and sighed to herself as Pinkie Pie looked around the inside of the car to find something; anything to occupy her mind with. Princess Twilight was the first to speak as she looked up front to see if the others were feeling just as anxious about the upcoming battle with her counterpart as she was.

“Girls I think we need to talk about what we are going to do once we find Midnight uh, er; I mean you're worlds Twilight.” Princess Twilight spoke with anxiety clearly in her tone of voice.

Rarity said nothing as she continued to drive the car and Pinkie didn’t seem at all interested in the conversation that Princess Twilight was trying to have with them. Princes Twilight turned to face Fluttershy to see if she would at least talk to her while the four drove to the city in search of Midnight. Looking at Fluttershy Twilight said as Fluttershy looked the passenger side window.

“Fluttershy I know things look really bad but, I really do think that we should at least talk about what is going on.”

“I don’t understand this….any of this.” Fluttershy said not looking at Princess Twilight.

“What don’t you understand Fluttershy? The fact that an evil pony demon spirit has somehow taken control of your friend? Or the fact that we four have to find this world's Twilight in order to save her?”  Princes Twilight asked with concern hinting in her tone of voice.

“I don’t understand how someone that I once thought was good and kindhearted could allow herself to become such….” Fluttershy’s voice trailed off as if she was trying to find the right words to speak to Princess Twilight.

“A monster?” Princess Twilight injected in the hopes of keeping the conversation going with Fluttershy.

Fluttershy didn’t reply to this she sat in the car looking out the window. Hoping and praying silently that all this was nothing more than a really bad dream. Yet in her heart she knew better. She knew that there might not be a real means of ending this nightmare without ending the life of one of her closest friends.

“Darling if we do find Twilight or Midnight…..whatever she is calling herself now, what are we to do? Just walk up to her and hope she doesn’t kill us?” Rarity injected as she slowed down the car coming to a red light.

Princess Twilight put a single finger to her chin and tapped it a few times before responding as she turned to look towards Rarity's direction.

“Hmmm the report that we all saw said something about her chasing someone down one of the streets in city right?”

“Yes she was chasing them down Cantor street and Walnut avenue. I think.” Rarity said as she pressed her foot down on the gas pedal.

“OK. Then that is where we need and should start.” Twilight said as she gave further thought as to what to say next.

As the car began to enter the city limits people of all ages and walks of life ran by screaming and yelling in fear. Rarity slowed down and trying to come to a full stop once she saw what was truly left of Canterlot Square. Broken boards, smashed walls, toppled buildings and broken glass lay strewn all over the place. The Square looked like a class F-5 tornado hit with a nuclear bomb twice over to finish off the Square itself. As Twilight and the others looked in horror as to what Midnight had caused her host body to do. Princess Twilight put a hand to her mouth and gasped. Fluttershy spoke as she shook with fear from what lay before her very eyes.

“It looks as if a bomb went off here, oh by god I hope the people got out safely.”

Rarity looked up in the rear view mirror and said gently while also trying to avoid any and all debris that might cause the car to crash.

“My sweet Fluttershy it looks more like a F-5 tornado came through here. And I am sure they did get out safely sweetie.”

Confused as to what Rarity just said and not wanting to stay out of the conversion. Princess Twilight spoke with both unease and confusion in her voice.

“What is a F - five tornado Rarity? I know that now may not be the best time to ask of such things I am just a bit curious is all.” Princess Twilight said as she looked over at her friend who was fighting back the urge to cry at the awful sight that lay before her.

Before Rarity could answer Pinkie Pie replied to Twilight's question giving the textbook definition of the term that Rarity just used. As she spoke to Twilight she had a look of both fear and concern on her face.

“Twilight” Pinkie said as she turned to face her in the back seat of the car.

“A; F - 5 tornado is classified ass a 261-318 mph, moving wind that can and will have Violent damage to homes. That are and can be lifted off their foundation and carried considerable distances. As well as throw automobiles as far away as but not limited to  100 meters in any and all directions.” Pinkie said as she looked at Twilight who had a rather confused look on her face as she tried to process what the pink haired girl just said to her.

As the car finally came to a full stop each of the four friends got out of the car and looked around. Not much was actually left standing in the city Square. A small amount of dust blew up from a seemly chili gust of wind and landed just barely touching Princess Twilight's buckled shoes. She looked around and let a single tear drip from her velvet colored eyes. Turning to her friends as the tear trickled down her cheek and saying to each of them.

“We need to split up and look for Twilight, we should each take a different part of the city. Rarity you said that she was last seen chasing someone down Cantor street and Walnut avenue I will take Fluttershy and start there. Rarity you and Pinkie search the rest of the city for her. And girls if and when you should find her DON’T go near her unless I am with you understand?”  Princess Twilight said as she looked at Fluttershy who was on the ground with tears running down her face.

Both Pinkie and Rarity gave each other looks as if they fully understood what their friend was saying. Yet they couldn’t seem to understand as to why she would not want them to actually try to help their friend. Princess Twilight walked up to Fluttershy and reaching out took a hold of the timid girls hands then said softly to her.

“Fluttershy, sweetie can you tell me or better yet show me where these streets are so that we might find out fallen friend?”

This seemed to snap Fluttershy out of her stupor of tears and she grasped Princess Twilight's hands tightly in hers. Without a word she started to walk down the street and headed in the direction they needed to go. With Twilight turning back and yelling to her two remaining friends.

“REMEMBER DON’T GO NEAR THE OTHER TWILIGHT WITHOUT ME!” Twilight yelled as Fluttershy tugged on her hand pulling her along with her.

While all this was happening the human version of Twilight was chasing the man who had killed her wife down another set of streets. And into an alleyway that led to a church. As Twilight chased this man into the alleyway she briefly recalled his reaction when she first laid eyes upon him in her demon form. Fully recalling what she had said to him just before the chase had started.

“Get away from her NOW!” Twilight had screamed at the top of lungs to this man she was now fully chasing down into an alleyway.

Recalling still as she began to close the gap between her and him. She recalled the look of fear on the woman's face as he had turned her towards Twilight holding his gun to her head and threatened to shoot her.

“St...stay BACK!....I’LL….I’LL KILL HER!” She recalled him saying while holding the gun to her head as he stared at her with fright in his eyes.

The look was one that Twilight wanted to see frozen dead to this man's face after what he had taken from her. Getting closer to him she could hear Midnight’s voice pounding away in her skull saying to her.

“Child let him go, let him run enjoy the chase and savior your soon to be victory over this mortal scum.” Midnight’s voice cooed and hissed to her wickedly.

Twilight didn’t know why yet she did as she was asked and banked up into the air letting the man reach the door of the church. Hearing his fist pounding on the oak door and listening to him scream out in terror gave her…..peace. It was a sound she had secretly wanted to hear him make since she lost her wife. The sound of absolute terror as his life such as it was, was coming crashing down around him and fully ending in his death. Looking down at him as she floated above him she couldn’t help but recall the rest of the events that lead to this very moment of pure bliss for her.

Looking down on him as he pounded his fist into the church door she could hear this man screaming out.

“FOR THE LOVE OF GOD OPEN THE DOOR, OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR.” The man screamed in terror as Twilight silently floated above him. Recalling what had transpired earlier in their meeting that day.

Twilight earlier in the day during their first meeting had fired a lighting bolt out of her hand and let it strike the ground. It came just mere inches away from this mans feet. Seeing that Twilight was more than serious about making him let his would be victim go. The man had dropped his gun lost control of his bodily functions and pissed himself while turning to run down the street trying to get away from this…..demon.

“Where do you think your going you bastard! Twilight yelled out as she unfurled her wings.

Twilight started laughing coldly as she slowly walked past the woman she had just saved from a mugging. She stopped in the middle of her walk and turned to her and looking at her with eyes filled with rage. The woman was dressed in the same dress that she and Sunset had seen earlier that day in a clothing shop window not far from where they were now. This sight only made Twilight even more angry and even more hostile. The woman was about to say something but was cut off when Twilight snapped at her.

“SAVE IT YOU SLUT.” Twilight snapped while snarling at the woman like a rabid dog.

The woman looked at her then turned to run she didn’t get far though. Twilight had stuck out her hand palm facing outwards and fired a bolt of purple and blue fire at her. The bolt hit this woman in the back erupting into full flames and consuming her as she screamed her last words dying in the alleyway. Then Twilight turned her attention back to the man who had caused her so much pain and anguish that day. Crouching down into a kneeling position and leaping back into the air she unfurled her wings letting the air current pick her up as she began to chase after her prey. The man bolted down a side street and ran across another nearly getting hit by a car. As he ran into an alleyway across from the street he had almost died on from nearly getting hit by a car. Twilight had screamed out at him as she leapt into the air to chase after him.

“GET BACK HERE YOU SON OF A BITCH!!”

The man she was chasing paid little attention to her as he ran away in terror of what was chasing him. The door to the church opened as the man shoved his way past the priest who had answered his pleas for help. The priest was grabbed by this man and thrown to the ground outside of the church Twilight grinned to herself. Another victim to scare to death as she let herself drop out of the sky and slam into the concrete below her. Hitting the ground as Twilight came in for what she had wanted to be fright of this priest life. Hit the concrete with such force that the concrete beneath her feet cracked and splintered into thousands of pieces.

Looking up at the church Twilight cooed as she said.

“Let's go to church and bring the devil to play with us.”

The priest was just picking himself up when he turned and looked in the direction of the noise that was generated by Twilight hitting the concrete. The priest having been old and not in good health took one look at Twilight. Grabbing at his chest as he fell back to ground and died on the spot from a heart attack at seeing the monster before him. Raising her hand up and letting a purple and blue fire ball fly out from her palm Twilight screamed out as the door to the church exploded. Sending pieces of debri flying both inside and outside of the church in all directions.

“YOU THINK YOUR PATHETIC GOD! CAN AND WILL SAVE YOU FROM MY WRATH!” Twilight screamed out.

The man turned towards the church door fear plastered on his face as sweat pour off his skin like a water faucet. He looked around for any means of escape seeing a set of stairs leading up towards the bell tower he bolted for those just as Twilight came inside the church. Watching per prey and fully drinking in all the emotions of her hunt she actually let him reach the door before firing a another bolt of energy at him. Laughing coldly as he jumped back just as the door blew apart in his face. He looked over to her his face fully white as a ghost then back at the door hearing her say to him.

“Go on run little rabbit, so I can continue my chase.” Twilight said in a mocking tone of voice.

The man looked at her then bolted into the room that held the steps and began to run up the stairs towards the bell tower. All the while Twilight laughed wickedly calling out to him as he ran up step after step her cold heartless voice trailing after him.

“That’s it run….run you pathetic piece of shit.” Twilight called after him as his feet landed upon each step racing nearer to the top of the church’s bell tower.

Twilight calmly walked inside the church thinking to herself as she looked around.

“Why does this place seem so familiar to me?” Twilight thought to herself as she continued to look around.

Midnight hearing Twilight’s thoughts peared through Twilights eyes and saw the same surroundings as Twilight was taking in. Midnight wanting to fully control Twilight hissed out into her mind as she said to her.

“Perhaps this is the reason this place seems so familiar to you child?” Midnight said almost laughing as she let her own demonic energy escap Twilight's body causing a image to appear fully to Twilight.

Twilight looked around and saw the day she had married Sunset appear in front of her. It was as if she was living in the very past it self. Every sound, every scent, every single little bit of pleasure of that day came flooding back to her. Twilight looked as she saw Sunset standing by a gold altar with a priest standing next to her. Looking further at the images that were now fully engulfing the inside of the church that she was standing in. She could tell that the priest who had died mere moments ago outside on the cold, hard streets. Was in fact the very same one that married her and Sunset not more than eight months ago.

Screaming out as the images begin to move and speak as if she was really apart of this.

Twilight screamed.

“MAKE IT STOP I DON’T WANT TO SEE THIS!!”

Midnight laughing cold as ice itself sadisticly said as she still laughed even harder in Twilight's mind.

“What’s wrong child are you losing your nerve now. This is why you wanted me to help you. This is why you begged me to give you vengence.” Midnight laughed wickedly as the images still played there satanic rhythm for Twilight.

Clutching her head like she had done at her home she fell to her knees trying to hide her eyes from the beautiful scene that was playing before her. As she held her head trying so very desperately to hide from what she was watching. She heard the voices of both the priest and Sunset speaking. Their voices came to her clear as thunder would upon a stormy night and echoed just as loudly in her mind as she clutched her skull trying to drown out the noise.

“Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to join this woman with her soon to be lawful wife in holy matrimony. If anyone in the attending audience knows why these two beautiful brides shouldn’t be married let them speak now. Or forever hold their peace.” The voice of the priest said as it boomed and echoed in Twilight's mind.

Twilight looked up she could see both herself and Sunset in their wedding gowns as she watched with hate ever burning into her heart. Sunset was wearing a white wedding dress that was made of pure silk. Her shoes were made of white leather and had two inch heels on them. The sleeves of the dress were made out of cotton and white satin that hugged her arms delicately. Her hair was done in a bun and had two shining red and orange hair bow ties in it. Twilight lowered her head back towards the floor of the church ever still clutching her skull. Trying even harder to push out the voices in her mind as they echoed even louder in her brain. Until she heard Sunsets voice and looked up again.

She heard Sunset say in almost a whisper as the happy image still played out in front of her.

“I love you Twilight don’t ever forget this day, I will always love you.” Sunset said.

Twilight lowered her head again then looked up one last time and saw the image’s of her in her own gown which was made of the same clothing. Like Sunset before her she too had hair bow ties in the back of her hair which like Sunset’s was tied up in a bun. Her hair ties where purple and pink whereas Sunsets where red and orange.

As Twilight watched these happy moments befall her eyes she screamed out in rage.

“I’ll never stop hating you for taking her away from me! Do you hear me you bastard! Her voice echoed in the empty church as she continued to watch the happy images of her wedding play out.

She heard Sunset speak the words that finally broke her into tears as Twilight knelt there she could hear Sunset speak her wedding vows. Sunset had written her wedding vows onto a small white card which she had read to Twilight during their wedding. Hearing Sunset speak these words Twilight began to shake her head as if she was in pain. Crying while this was all going on as she listened to Sunsets voice in her head.

“I Sunset Shimmer here do by take thy Twilight Sparkle to be my lawfully wedded wife. Now and always I do fully pledge my body, mind, heart, and soul to thee. I will love you and no other till the end of time itself. I fully shall always love you, you and no other now and always. In sickness and in health, for rich or poor. For good or bad I will never be unfaithful to you. Your are my wife and I am your wife now and always.”

Twilight couldn’t take it any more as the last words poured themselves into her mind she heard Midnight laugh as she screamed out in anger.

“NO! MIDNIGHT! GIVE ME THE STRENGTH TO CARRY ON.” Twilight screamed out as she slowly rose off the ground and looked towards the door that the man she had been chasing had run into a few moments ago.

“My strength Twilight has always been yours to take you had only but, to ever ask for it.”  Midnight hissed wickedly as she laughed coldly in Twilight's mind.

Looking up one last time she saw the images of her wedding day fade away. Then with a loud snarl she turned her gaze towards the busted up door that her prey had run through a few moments ago. Twilight grinned to herself as she walked through the open door way. She looked up at the flight of stairs going up. Then she looked at her hands and growled as she slammed each hand into the wall in front of her. Pushing her fingers through the concrete and brick wall as if it was nothing more than paper. She began to lift herself off the ground and actually started climbing the wall heading up towards the bell tower. Screaming out in a full voice of absolute hatred to the man above her that was trying to find a safe place to hide from her in the tower.

“YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE ME!, I WILL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!” Twilight screamed like a hawk chasing its prey.

Meanwhile Rarity and Pinkie pie had begun their search for Twilight not more than six blocks away when they saw people running toward them. Pinkie stepped in front of one of the oncoming people in an attempt to stop the person long enough to ask where they had just started running from.

“Excuse me can you tell….” That was as far she got before the person bowled her over like a bowling pin sending Pinkie flying up into the air and crashing back down with a painful thud.

Rarity having seen this and having seen this person charging towards her next just grinned as she prepared to take this mad dash runner down. She waited for the last possible second as the person came charging in then side stepping the person. She fully stuck her foot out and tripped Pinkie’s assailant sending the bewildered person face first into the cold hard concrete. As the person's face contorted with the concrete letting out a scream of pain when Rarity got close enough to actually hear this person talk.

“OW what the fuck lady!?!” screamed the person as they sat back on their butt looking up at the woman who had just tripped them.

Rarity seeing it was a man who she had just tripped knelt down and handed him a handkerchief then helped him to his feet. Saying as gently as she could while trying not to lose her temper with him for his knocking her friend over in his mad dash to escape whatever he was running from.

“I am ever so very sorry for needing to knock you down like that mister, but we need to know where are running from. We have a good friend somewhere in this city and we….”

The man cut her off by saying quickly to her as he go up and dusted himself off.

“The church on fifth and grand. Now can I go please I really do not want to stick around after that hell angel gets done with the poor sap it chased in there.” The man said as he looked at Rarity as his eyes filled with dread.

Rarity looked at him then over at Pinkie Pie before saying to this man.

"You don’t mean the Alabaster church on Fifth Avenue and Grand Park Drive do you?” Rarity asked as realization set into her face.

“Y….yes that is the one, Now can I go please.” The man said as his eyes filled with even more fear and dread.

“Yes leave and hurry.” Rarity said with a chilly tone to her voice.

Rarity looked over to Pinkie and then pulled her phone out of her pocket dialing the number quickly she called up Fluttershy who answered with a soft hello.

“Hello Rarity did you find Twilight?” Fluttershy asked softly.

“Yes! w=We need you to go to the car that I left in Canterlot Square look under the front left tire rim to find a spare key. Use that key to start the car and drive yourself and Twilight to the church that Sunset and our Twilight married in.”

“It will be done as you have asked Rarity.” Fluttershy responded.

She was about to hang up when she heard Rarity say to her over the phone.

“And Fluttershy.” Rarity said.

“Y...yes Rarity what is it?” Fluttershy responded with clear question in her tone of voice.

“When you get to the church leave the car running and the doors completely unlocked. You and Twilight Sparkle might have to leave there quickly do you understand?” Rarity said as she was now running down the street towards the church with Pinkie Pie  following close behind her.

“Yes Rarity I fully understand. Where are we supposed to go once we leave the church and start to leave the city?” Fluttershy asked as she stood looking at Twilight who was looking at her with a blank look of confusion on her face.

“Head out of the city and head to the school. That is where Princess Celestia said that Midnight would have to go if Midnight wants to take control of Twilight's body permanently. Listen if there isn’t enough time for you to pick up either myself or Pinkie as the two of us are right now running towards the church. I want you to do this regardless of how you personally feel about it.” Rarity said as she crossed a street and ran further down the block with Pinkie trying to keep up.

“I will do as you have asked of me. I am going to hang up and call the house let them know what is going on. And ask that Applejack take the princess over to the school.”  Fluttershy said as she turned around and started to head back towards the car.

Fluttershy ran down the street crossed the crosswalk and then ran further down the street while Twilight was trying to get her to slow down to talk to her.

“F...Flut….ter...shy will you….sl...ow...down for a….p..p..ony ...second!” Twilight catching her breath as she finally caught up to her friend.

Fluttershy turned and blushed at the now completely exhausted Twilight who was bent hand over knees wheezing and gasping for breath. The two of them had run almost six full blocks in under five minutes and the poor pony turned temporarily human could barely keep up let alone catch her own breath. Fluttershy had been so worried about her worlds Twilight. That she completely forgot that this Twilight was just a little bit out of shape and was now very tired from the running they had just done.

“Oh my I am so sorry Twilight here come over here while I call Applejack and rest yourself for a few minutes.” Fluttershy said as she lead the tired Twilight over to the car then sat her down on the cold hard ground.

Twilight was too tired to say anything about how cold or how completely uncomfortable the ground was beneath her rear end. She just panted for breath as she gasped and sputtered out.

“o..ok. let me...catch...my breath….then...we..can..go...after Midnight.” The exhausted and tired Princess Twilight said as she sat on the ground gasping for breath.

Fluttershy took out her phone pressed a few buttons on it then raised the phone to her ear thinking it would be Applejack to answer the phone. As soon as the phone was answered she said.

“Applejack we need you and The princess to go to the school right now. We have found our worlds Twilight and will meet you at the school as soon as we can.”

Before the other person could reply Fluttershy hung up. She bent down on all fours looking for the key that Rarity had told her about. Once it was found she unlocked the front door pressed a button on the door side panel unlocking all four doors. Then helped Twilight into the car and got in her self. once she was in the driver's seat she put her seatbelt on and turned the car on then drove off to the church.

Twilight was at this point still slowly climbing the wall of the bell tower ever inching her way to the man. That had killed her wife and caused her to hate everything good in this world. As she climbed up the wall slamming her fingers into it each time she lifted herself further up off the floor of the bell tower landing. She yelled even more out towards her prey in the hopes of scaring him even more. The scent of his fear was absolutely intoxicating to her and she wanted to savor it and as much of it as she could.

“WHEN I GET MY HANDS AROUND YOUR NECK YOUR GOING TO PRAY I KILL YOU QUICKLY.” She screamed as she slammed her right hand into the bricks of the bell tower wall hausting herself up another foot off the floor.

Twilight's prey who was scared out of his mind looked frantically over every inch of the tower. Trying very desperately to find some place, ANY; place to hide from this she devil set loose upon his very soul. Yet no matter where his eyes gazed upon he only found that he was trapped with nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Hearing the sickening cracking noise of her fingers breaking apart small bits and chunks of brick off as she came ever closer to him.

Twilight screamed out again as she said.

“I’M COMING FOR YOU, I’LL SEND YOUR SOUL TO HELL!!”

The man began to feel himself lose control of his bodily functions again. He looked again and again yet all he found was the bell itself which was at least something that is if he could actually get himself inside it. He looked at it then ran over to it as he saw a purple hand being placed on the stair landing next to him. He knew his time was running out it was now or never. Quickly he scrambled up inside the bell hanging onto the ringer for dear life. As Twilight fully emerged from the stair landing and unfurled her wings screaming like a hawk. She looked around saliva dripping from her toothed mouth and onto the floor burning it as if it was acid. Growling and snarling she fully screamed out in rage at having lost her prey.

“WHERE ARE YOU, YOU BASTARD? WHERE ARE YOU?” Twilight looked around but couldn’t find her prey anywhere in sight.

Screaming again in even more rage as she set her eyes upon a small door that led to the roof. She raced over to it and ripped it off its rusty hinges screaming out.

“YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME! DO YOU HEAR ME I WILL SEND YOU TO HELL!”

Twilight turned and threw the door against the bell. The blow of the door crashing into the bell was hard enough to knock the man she was looking for out of the bell and cause him to land with a very painful thud on the ground in front of her. He looked up and tried to scramble to his. Twilight leapt at him and grabbed him by his throat hoisting him up into the air screaming at him as she held him with one hand in the air.

“WHY...WHY DID YOU KILL HER YOU BASTARD!”

The man coughed and choked on his own blood as it splattered up out of his throat and onto his face from the tight grip that Twilight had around his throat. He looked down at her while being dangled like a fish in her hand and coldly said to her.

“Why did I kill who you bitch?” He sneered at her.

As this was being said Pinkie and Rarity were just coming into view of the church now. They had run at full sprint all the way to the church. Which from where they originally were located in the city was almost ten blocks away. Now coming up to the church they heard a loud honk behind them as Fluttershy and Twilight came into view. Fluttershy parked the car and as she had been told by Rarity as she got out of the vehicle left it both running and with all doors unlocked. Hearing a loud scream Fluttershy looked up and saw someone being held over the ledge of the bell tower. Without even thinking she raced into the church and towards the door that lead up stairs. As she reached the first step another loud scream came from the top of the bell tower.

Saying to herself as Fluttershy ran up the steps.

“Oh god she is killing him. Please god let me get there in time please.”

Twilight had thrown the man into the open door way leading up to the roof. Causing him to crash into the back wall of the open space and land on the ground in front of her. Clutching his stomach as he retched up a mouthful of blood Twilight ran over to him then bent down grabbed him by the throat again as he screamed out in terror at what he saw in her eyes while she picked him up off the floor of the bell tower.

“Holy shit lady let me go please I beg you let me go!”

Hearing this Twilight let out a loud cry of hate as she dragged him over to the edge of the bell tower held him over the edge of the bell tower. As she screamed out to him while holding him with one hand fully dangling him over the edge of the belly tower.

“YOU BEG ME?!? I BEGGED YOU TO LEAVE US ALONE!! TO LET US BE! AND YOU SHOT HER, YOU SHOT MY WIFE YOU BASTARD!” Twilight screamed out as he pulled her arm back ready to throw the man to his death.

Relazing what Twilight was talking about he looked at her in fear and screamed out in terror screaming.

"YOU CAN'T BE THAT BITCH I MET ON THE STREET EARLIER TODAY....YOU CAN'T." The man screamed as he felt his body being lifted and tilted backwards as Twilight was preparing to throw him to his death.

Just as she was about to toss him to his death a pastel pink haired and yellow skinned blur came out of the entrance leading to the bell tower. Fully slamming into Twilight knocking her and the man she was holding away from the edge of the bell tower and onto the floor. The blow was just hard enough to knock Twilight up against a wall and stun her for a few seconds. While the others ran inside the church. Fluttershy who was up in the bell tower with the person who had caused all this to happen was just picking this person up. When a armored fist from the fully armored Twilight came suddenly slamming into Fluttershy's jaw. Effectively sending the yellow skinned girl toppling head over heals. As Fluttershy toppled over and hit a nearby wall Twilight screamed out at her.

“HOW DARE YOU TRY TO SAVE HIM! HE IS MINE!”

As Twilight bent down to grab the man that she had wanted to kill since Sunsets death she heard from behind her.

“NO HE ISN’T!” Yelled a voice from behind her.

She turned around just in time to get fully sucker punched by Pinkie Pie. Fearing that since Twilight had just punched her friend Fluttershy once already as was more than likely to hurt Fluttershy again. Pinkie stepped in between Twilight and Fluttershy as she watched Twilight slump to the ground. Rarity and Princess Twilight where just now getting up to the top of the tower at this point. Princess Twilight didn’t have time to think she just reacted and grabbed Fluttershy picking her up in her arms. Rarity seeing a man lying on the ground that she didn’t recognize grabbed him as well and picked him up in her arms. Pinkie remained where she was while the others made their way over to the steps as Pinkie guarded their escape route from the slightly dazed Twilight. As the group made their way to the steps leading down to the street below Princess Twilight looked back at Pinkie and exclaimed loudly to her.

  “Pinkie what the pony tails are you doing let’s go already!” Princess Twilight exclaimed in fear ass he saw her counterpart was just starting to stir.

“BUT I” Pinkie turned to face Twilight as she tried to argue but was cut off by Princess Twilight.

Twilight was just now getting up as she heard Princess Twilight exclaim out.

“Pinkie that blow you gave her isn’t going to hold her off for long we need to get going and we need to go NOW!” Princess Twilight screamed as she started to race down the stairs.

Twilight shook her head to shack lose the pain from being sucker punched by Pinkie Pie. Twilight then reached her hand out and tapping the unaware girl on the shoulder Pinkie turned back to face her worlds Twilight. Only to come face to face with a snarling monster that was fully covered in battle ready plate mail armor. Half heartedly laughing as she half smiled and bolted for the steps Pinkie screamed out as she ran down the stairs.

“HEY WAIT FOR ME!”

Looking over the edge of the bell tower as the group made their way to the car. Twilight screeched out in an angry tone leaping from the tower and letting her wings carry her up into the air. Pinkie looked up at the noise she heard and yelled as she opened her car door at the same time.

“OH SHIT!”

Rarity couldn’t help herself as she chided to Pinkie exclaiming out in disgust at the swearing that her friend had just done.

“Thank you Ms. Pie for that lovely display of non lady like behavior!” Rarity said as she opened her car door to get into the car.

Before Pinkie and Rarity could say anything further they both heard Princess Twilight yell at them both.

“Will you two cool it and get in the car! Rarity you drive; you know these streets better than any of  us.” Princess Twilight said as she got into the front seat.

Rarity did as she and Pinkie were told by the princess of friendship. Pinkie looked at her friends as she got into the car saying to them.

“UM girls I know that Princess Celestia said something about how Midnight could control animals and all. So why hasn’t she used that power to stop us from taking this person from her?” Pinkie asked just as they all heard Twilight as she flew overhead screaming out to them.

“I WARNED YOU NOT TO INTERFERE WITH MY PLANS NOW YOU ALL SHALL BE EATEN ALIVE BY THE ANIMALS OF THE NIGHT!” Twilight screamed out as she banked up wards heading higher into the sky.

“OH YOU MEAN LIKE SHE IS DOING NOW PINKIE!!” Screamed Rarity as she buckled up slamming her car door closed.

The others all followed suite as they looked out the front window watching Twilight climb higher and higher into the sky. As Twilight climbed into the sky she screeched out and clapped her hands together. Doing so summoned a large amount of bats to seemly appear out of nowhere. She pointed to the car that was about to speed away from her and the bats swooped down coming in front of the car car. Fluttershy who was sitting in the back of car screamed out in terror to Rarity as she saw the bats coming in.

“DRIVE!” Fluttershy screamed loudly.

Rarity didn’t have to be told twice she pushed the stick shifter of the car into it’s proper gear and began to speed away from the city. The bats banked left, then right, then up, then came crashing down upon the car as a demonic voice could be heard on the wind.

“Kill them all my children!, kill them!”

Twilight watched to see if the bats were at all stopping the car in it’s tracks. Seeing fully to her disappointment that the little creatures were having very little effect on the speeding vehicle. She clapped her hands together again as she banked backwards into a half circle then began to chase the car herself and screamed out in anger.

“HEAR ME POWER’S OF TARTARUS SEND FORTH THE ANIMALS OF THE NIGHT TO DEAL WITH MY PREY.

SEND. THEM. FORTH."

The sky went as black as night as the car sped away from the city. Princess Twilight looked out the front window of the car seeing that the bats were now gone. She looked behind her and through the rear window of the car. To her horror she saw the demon possessed Twilight calling forth a large flock of birds as she chased the car down the street. Turning her attention to her friend sitting next to her. Princess Twilight screamed out to Rarity as she raised her foot and slammed it into Rarity's foot that was covering the gas pedal.

“SORRY ABOUT THIS RARITY!” Princess Twilight yelled as her foot came down hard onto Rarity's foot causing her friend to yelp in pain.

As Princess Twilight did this the car sped forwards even faster. The man that the four friends had saved was now beginning to wake up as he looked around at all the unfamiliar faces around him. He had been hastily placed in between Pinkie and Fluttershy who were both sitting in the back seat. Looking around he shook his head then had the bad idea of looking out the rear window. Seeing how dark the sky was becoming the creature chasing them. He let out a scream and fainted into Pinkie's lap who was not amused by this at all. She pushed him forwards and said out loud.

“Girls why on earth did we even save this….this party pooper?”

“Because we want him to go to jail for what he has done Pinkie.” Fluttershy said as she looked back at the on oncoming dark clouds and at a flock of what looked like really pissed off birds following them.

As the car sped down the street Rarity saw a tight turning coming up and jerked the wheel to the left yelling out at the top of her lungs.

“HOLD ON GIRLS!”

The girls in the car all screamed out in terror as the tires of the car squealed in irritation from Rarity jerking the steering wheel to the left. The man who was lying on Pinkie Pie's lap started to panic as he came too from his fainting earlier. Something that Pinkie didn’t want to listen too. Without a word she grabbed him and then head butted him effectively knocking him out cold. Screaming out in pain as she held her head after her head had collided with his.

“OW! HOW THE HOLY HELL DOES RAINBOW DO THAT WITHOUT GETTING A HEADACHE!?!”

Princess Twilight hearing Pinkie scream out in pain. Looked back at her friend who was holding her head with her right hand. Then looked down at the now unconscious man slumped between the front and back seats of the car. Before saying to her.

“Pinkie what did you just do?....Or do I not want to know?” Princess Twilight asked as she stared at her friend in bewilderment.

“ow...ow...ow I hit him with my….ow..ow head to stop him from panicking.” Pinkie said as she rubbed her head.

Princess Twilight just frowned at this although she couldn’t say she wasn’t too shocked by this behavior. Looking down at the man then back at Pinkie Princess Twilight said softly to her.

“Well at least we won’t have to put up with any nonsense from him.”

“Fluttershy did you call the house to let them know we found Twilight and they should head to the school?” Rarity asked as she pressed even further down onto the gas pedal causing the car to roar loudly as they sped further down the street.

“Yes but I hung up before I could get a reply from whomever answered the phone.” Fluttershy said with a very slight smile on her face.

Twilight was still chasing them with her flock of birds following in close pursuit. Screaming out to them in vain as she chased them.

“I WILL NOT BE DENIED MY VENGEANCE!!”

“I can’t believe you would hang up on whoever it was that you trying to call Fluttershy I mean really Darling that is just so rude!” Rarity said as she jerked the car steering wheel to the right taking another sharp turn and again causing everyone to scream out in terror.

“Rarity can you please chastises Fluttershy some OTHER TIME!” Princess Twilight exclaimed the last two words of her sentence trying not to loose her cool with her friend.

Fluttershy didn’t reply to Rarity's chastising her for hanging up on the person she had called earlier that day. She only was concerned with getting to the school as quickly as possible and ending this nightmare that she and her friends were in. Rarity saw a turn off just a few feet from where they were located. Knowing that Twilight was not more than a good forty car lengths behind them she jerked the steering wheel to the right and headed down the turn off. The road led them to a alleyway and underground parking garage. Pulling into the garage she ordered everyone to duck down as Twilight came into view.

“GET DOWN ALL OF YOU NOW!” Rarity yelled as she ducked behind the steering wheel of her car.

Each of her friends did the same just as Twilight flew by the garage causing everyone to sigh in relief. Once the coast was clear Rarity pulled the car out of the garage then turned to the left and headed towards the school.

“Uh Rarity I know we want Twilight to follow us to the school and all but, why did we just lose her like that. I mean won’t she be even more upset when she realizes she can’t find us?” Asked Fluttershy as she looked out each window trying to find Twilight as the car drove off.

“This is true darling how ever we couldn’t keep this chase going on forever and I for one want to get to our destination in at least one piece.” Rarity replied to Fluttershy.

A few hours later the school was coming into view as Rarity pulled into the parking lot she looked at the statue out front of the school. Pointing with her finger she said out loud.

“What the hell is that coming out of the portal!?!”

Everyone looked as they started to get out of the car leaving the man they had saved from Twilight earlier that day inside the car. Rarity made sure to take her keys with her she didn’t want this scum to try to escape from her or her friends. Each of her friends stared in wide eyed disbelief as a small orgiane orb began to emerge from the portal. It floated over to them then slowly began to take the shape of a dearly departed friend. Princess Twilight seeing and fully recognizing who it was that was now floating before them in a ghostly image said with her eyes beaming wide.

“SUNSET! SUNSET SHIMMER, it is so good to see you. Have you come to help us with Twilight? Have you come to help us free her from this curse she is in.?” Princess Twilight said beaming with excitement at seeing her fallen friends spirit.

Everyone looked at Twilight then at the ghostly image of Sunset then back at Twilight before they all exclaimed in one voice.

“SUNSET IS IT REALLY YOU!?!”

Sunset looked at each of them then smiled warmly at them before saying in a ghostly echoing voice to them all.

"Yes I have come here from the guardian of heroes chambers. Where is Princess Celestia?”

Princess Twilight walked up to Sunset who floated down to her to be more level with her and smiled warmly as tears slowly fell off her cheeks. Saying to her gently as she held her hand out to her.

“The Princess will be here soon Sunset.”

Sunset looked at her hand then at Twilight's out reached hand and reached for hers only to have her hand pass right through Princess Twilight's hand. Sighing to herself she looked down as crystal tears could be seen coming off her face. As she raised her head back up to face Princess Twilight she could see coming into view over Princess Twilight's left shoulder the other Twilight, her Twilight. Sunset knew now that it was time to end this nightmare and set things right. Saying to Princess Twilight as she nodded in the direction of that her Twilight was coming in from.

“Twilight promise me one thing if this battle goes badly for us.”

Everyone turned to watch Twilight coming in towards the school as Princess Twilight asked Sunset.

“Yes Sunset?”

“Promise me that if the battle goes ill for us and Twilight is killed today, that you will make sure I and my wife are buried here and not in Equestria.” Sunset said as she watched her wife banking lower to the ground as she came in for a landing.

Princess Twilight didn't really want to actually promise this to Sunset after all she had fully earned the right to go home and be burred as a hero in the hall of hero. Crying Princess Twilight very reluctantly agreed to Sunsets terms.

“I promise Sunset that if the battle should go ill for your wife and she should be killed today I will make sure you both are buried here and not in Equestria.” Twilight said as he wiped a tear from her eyes as she too watched the other Twilight come in for a landing.

Twilight landed and looked around seeing Sunsets image eyes shot wide with anger as she began to think her former friends were using this as a means to trick her. She screeched out in rage and charged her former friends.The others began to charge her while Sunset looked on saying to herself.

“Let’s end this.” As she too charged her wife and demon she had become.

The battle to save Twilight from the demonic Midnight had begun.
