chapter 13:

Sunsets and Twilights funeral

Sunset’s body and Twilight's body were both placed into their respective coffins each of them looked so peaceful and so elegant. It was actually noted by more than a few that they actually looked more stunning now than they did when they where alive. As the priest read from his bible Rarity looked around seeing the love and honor each other friends had for Sunset and for Twilight brought a sense of calm to her otherwise broken heart.

“Why did she have to die, why did either of them have to be taken from us”? Thought Rarity as she listened to the priest dull out his words of compassion.

As the priest finished his words he turned to the crowd gathered at Canterlot cemetery and asked if anyone would like to say a few words. Rarity was the first to speak up even though in her heart she really didn’t want to speak at all. This was something that honor and dignity would demand no less of a lady such as herself. Walking slowly up the front of the crowed she looked out at all the faces that were wet from crying. Crying herself she calmly said through her sobbing.

“I will alway recall when Sunset came into my clothing store to have her coat fixed. It was so beat up that I actually didn’t want to fix it. I loved how she looked in that coat she always wore. She looked both confident and well defined. I was so happy for her when she told me that she and Twilight were getting maried. I remember this one time Twilight actually came to me to ask for help with sewing a headpiece for her wedding dress. The thing looked so dreadful that it was just begging for a ladies touch”.

There was light chuckle from the crowed at these last words. Rarity looked onwards and paid no attention to it though. Her friends were gone and she felt so alone in the world. Her little sister had chosen to stay home when she found out about Sunset and Twilight’s death. As Rarity was about to say something more on her two friends she choked up and then began to stumble to the floor of the church. Applejack caught her and helped her back to her seat. Applejack went up in front of the crowd to speak to them of her memories of her two dear friends.

“I remember y’all when Twilight tried her hand and horseback riding for the first time. Poor girl got tossed off that silly horse at least ten times in one single day. I also remember when Sunset first helped me at the county fair selling baked goods. I think I ever quite saw her smile so much then I did that day when she did at the fare”. Applejack looked out at the crowd then turned and took her seat.

When she sat down she buried her face into her hands and sobbed uncontrollably. Fluttershy was the next to go up and say a few words in memory of her two fallen friends.

“I will always love how they used to talk to each other they were so damn cute together and I was so happy for them. I remember when Sunset asked if she could go to the animal shelter with me. We got there and all the little rabbits and kittens and puppies all swarmed her like a wild bee hive. She use to love naming them. I think she had over eighty different names for just one kitten. I also am very fond of how Twilight was always so nervous around me or the other animal shelter staff. She always looked so damn cute when she played with her hair or filleted with her glasses”.

Fluttershy couldn’t say anything else just remembering these moments was almost too much for her. She took her seat then sighed as she let her tears flow. Pinkie was about to go up but found that she was unable to get off her seat. She sait there with her hair completely deflated and cried. Rainbow was the last one to rise up and talk about Sunset and Twilight. As she did so she saw nothing but love and pure happiness in the eyes of her friends as she stood in front of their coffins.

“I will always be so very grateful for how they took me in and gave me a home. I wish I could tell them both that I love them very much and how much I will miss them.” Rainbow said as she looked into the eyes of her friends.

As she sat back down the two coffins were laid in their graves with a single tombstone over head. That read on its grey surface.

‘Here in lies in loving lasting memory of our friends Twilight and Sunset shimmer. May they both rest in peace and harmony together in each other's loving embrace.”

The group all left for Sugarcube corner corner each one bought a ice coffee and a muffin with raisins on it. This was something that Sunset and Twilight both liked about the cafe and each had come here many times to buy this order. Applejack raised her glass followed by the others and said as she gestured with her glass.

“To our friends Twilight and Sunset we will see them again in time.”

Each of the other tapped their glasses together against Applejacks cup all calling out in one single tone of voice.

“To Twilight and Sunset.”

The group had their drinks then left Sugar cube corner to slowly pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. Rainbow Dash and Applejack would marry each other, Rarity would go on to become one of the world's greatest fashion divas of all time. Pinkie would go on to become a world class chef and restaurant holder. Fluttershy would go on to become an animal advocate saving many lives of pets that were either neglected or left abandoned by heartless people. All would keep their love for each other and for Sunset and Twilight in their hearts till the day they died and their souls joined them in the heavens above. Each in her own way found a way to forgive Twilight for what she did when she became the demonic Midnight Sparkle. Sunsets murder would be found guilty of her murder and die in prison from a gang attack it was said his last words were. "should never have messed with some one as evil as that." before he was found with one hundred stab wounds to this chest and face. Princess Celestia and Twilight returned to Equestria to prepare for war against the demon that took over Sunset at the Fall Formal six years ago. It was said by the guardian of the hall of honor that there was so much blood spilt that day that even he was overwhelmed from those he had to lay to rest. But that is another story for another time.
