Chapter 2:

The Town of Sweet Illusions

(Everfree Forest)

“Well that could’ve gone better don’t you guys think?” Katie said as she popped the hood of the car open.

“I doubt it seeing how we’re now public enemies number one for those mutant bug ponies. So how much damage did the car take?” Raven asked.

“Well besides the fact that windshield wiper fluid being low, other than that everything seems to be in order.” Katie said as she popped the trunk open, levitated a container full of windshield wiper fluid, and began to pour it in.

“Any idea on where we are now?” Kelly asked.

“We’re in the middle of a forest. One that almost resembles the rain forest back on earth, only the forest here isn’t raining constantly.”

“You think we might find a way back home?”

“Possibly, but we need to find someone that might have an idea about our situation.”

“We’ll worry about that later.” Katie said as she closed the hood of the car. “Right now we need to find a town or something that will give us directions. That and some oil for the car because we’re running low on it.”

“And where are we supposed to find some. Judging by where we are I doubt we’ll be able to find some before the engine locks up. Couldn’t you just levitate us out of here or something.”

“Just because I can do that, doesn’t mean I have a full grasp on how this gravity stuff works Raven. Plus I don’t think you want me to fly us out do you Raven?”

“....Fair point. So where do go?”

“Let’s just search the area and see what we can find for food or something. We’re in the forest after all so we might as well live off the land until we find a town or something.”

“Wait, shouldn’t one of us stay behind? You know just incase someone or something tries to steal our ride?”

“Who do you suggest?” Kelly asked.

“You.”

“Why me?”

“Because you have an arm cannon that can take out almost anything, and you’re pretty much can scare anyone easily.”

“Fine I’ll stay behind, but I need the keys seeing how Katie’s not using them.” Katie shrugged as she tossed the keys to Kelly. “Thanks.”

“Come along Raven. We have some exploring to do.” Katie said as she walked off into the forest.

“Man this is place is the is really odd.” Katie said as she push through a bush. “Seriously, it’s like this place is huge pool of plants that you would find in different countries.”

“That and the wildlife around here. Some of the animals here are very….weird or mythological.”

“You mean that cockatrice we past by a few hours ago?”

“Not to mention that weird talking lake serpent.”

“He wasn’t that bad.”

“He called us monster and fled off to lord knows where.”

“To be fair Raven we’re on an unknown planet that I could guess never seen humans before.”

“Still that doesn’t give him the right to act that way to us.”

“I’m sure he has his reasons. Let’s just find something that can lead us to the right direction out of this forest.”

“You mean like that?” Raven pointed a finger in front of Katie as they say a small town glowing in the distance. “You don’t see something like that nowadays now do you?”

“You think whoever lives in that town might know a way out of this forest?”

“Unless you want to ask that lake serpent with the greaser hairstyle?”

“....Guess we’ll go into town.” Katie said as she and Raven began to walk into the small town. As they entered they took notice on how this place almost resemble somewhat of how houses were made back in the old days before technology. What got their attention the most was seeing the people or ponies of the town.

“Well shit. First mutant bug ponies, now humanoid like ponies that aren’t mutants.”

“These must be this world’s inhabitants.” Raven whispered. “At least they don’t look dangerous like those mutant bug ponies we meet.”

“You can never be to sure about it, they could be a bunch of cannibalistic ponies that will eat you in your sleep.” Katie whispered back. “Let’s just ask them a way out of here and be on our way.” As the two females continue their little talk, a grey pony with black mane wearing a black long sleeve shirt and navy color jeans walked up to them.

“Greetings my fellow ponies!” He said startling the two shifters. “Welcome to Sunny Town. My name is Grey hoof, and I would like to welcome you both to our little town.”

“Um...hi…..it’s nice to meet you Grey Hoof.” Katie said awkwardly. “My name is….Kat Graviton, and this is my friend Raven…..Void.”

“Really?”

“Look something about this place is giving me goosebumps. Let’s just go with these names until we can get some directions okay?”

“....Fine.”

“Well it’s a pleasure to meet you both Ms. Kat and Ms. Raven. What brings such lovely mares like yourselves into our peaceful town?”

“We’re kinda lost at the moment. We took a wrong turn during our little hike through the forest and found this place by accident. You wouldn’t happen to know a way back out of the forest would you?”

“Oh, all you have to do is follow the road that leads to this town back and it’ll lead you back out of the forest.”

“Thanks, well come on Raven we have a lot of lost ground to catch up for.” Just as the two were about to leave, Grey Hoof placed a hand on both their shoulders, motioning them to stop.

“Wait, before you two leave wouldn’t you both like to stay for the party we’re hosting? We rarely get visitors here and it looks like you two are in need of something to eat.”

“Hm, well we haven’t eaten anything in the past few hours. I guess we can stay for a while.”

“Perfect! I’ll go tell the others about this.” Grey Hoof said as he ran off. “Make yourselves at home, Sunny Town is always happy to have new friends.” As Grey Hoof vanished from out of their line of sight. Kat pulled Raven over to the side.

“Okay we really need to get out of this place soon. Something about that smile of his is creepy me the fuck out.”

“You think he’s part of some kind of cult or something?”

“Maybe, but let’s not make him think we’re suspicious and attack yet. Call Kelly and tell her about what’s going and have her bring the car here to this location.”

“How is she going to find us? It’s not like she can track us or anything.”

“She’s cosplaying as Yunica from Gravity Rush. She’s pretty much a cyborg so she should be able to track one of our cellphone’s.”

“Good point. What are you planning on doing while I call her?”

“I’m gonna have a little look around Sunny Town. Something about him and this place is putting me on edge, and I’m about to find out what it is.”

“Just be careful when you do it. Lord knows I don’t want to come in and save your ass like always.”

“Oh come on, this is me we’re talking about.” Kat said as she begins to walk off. “When have I ever gotten myself into trouble like this?”

“More than you can imagine.” Raven thought as she pulled out her cellphone to call Kelly. While was busy doing that, Kat made her way into town as the ponies either waved hello or said hi to her. The Shifter in turn put on a fake smile and waved back.

“Just keep waving Katie. You’re only here until Kelly get’s here with your car, and you can kiss this place goodbye-.” Just as Kat was about to make a left turn around an abandoned house. She ended up falling on her bottom due to her bumping into something or someone hard without knowing. “Ow! Watch where you’re going.“

“You watch where ya’ll going.” said the pony Kat bumped into. To what Kat could tell the pony was about the size of a 12 year old kid. She was wearing blue overalls, a light reddish shirt and pink bow on her head. “What the hay are you?” the filly asked as she backed away while holding a stick out at Kat.

“Well that’s just rude.” Kat said as she patted the dirt off be bottom. “Here I thought the ponies in this place wouldn’t act rude because of someone like me. Then again that guy named Grey Hoof mistaken me as a pony, so I’m not gonna complain about it.”

“I asked what hay are you?”

“I’m a human you rude little brat.”

“I have a name you know?”

“Well maybe if you stop being rude then I’ll stop calling you a brat then? Now care to tell me who you are then kid?”

“My name’s Applebloom.” She said as she slowly lowered her stick. “What’s your name?”

“Kat Graviton, but you can call me Kat for short.”

“That’s a weird name.”

“So is having a name call Applebloom, but you don’t see me judging it. So….how long have you been in this town?”

“Um….I just found this place moments ago. I kinda got lost and followed this strange looking pony here.”

“So you’re not a resident in this place?”

“Nope, are you?”

“No, my friend and I just found this place just like you did kid. Guess we’re both on the same boat on finding this town by accident huh?”

“Seems so. So what are you and your friends doing here?”

“Well we were planning on leaving this place once our ride gets here. Until then I’m gonna have a look around the place. This place is giving me goosebumps all over and that doesn’t happens unless something is up.”

“I don’t know, this place seem nice. All the ponies here are happy and carefree, so how can this place be bad?”

“Every town has it’s secrets Applebloom. They may not show it at time, but they have their secrets. Whether it’s something funny or something grim and dark.”

“Isn’t it wrong to look into other ponies secrets?”

“Yes, but a small town in the middle of a forest like this. This just screams something is up.” Kat said as she begins to walk off. “You’re coming or what? Because something tells me you might get hurt if I actually find something.”

“H-Hey! Wait up!” Applebloom said as she followed the strange blonde human.
