Chapter1: The Start Of Evening
"Pooch! Come down here! Your going to be late!" Monica yells up to Evening. "Hold up mom!" Evening yelled back to Monica. "Where did I put my sunglasses..." Evening ask's himself as he looks though his room as he rushes though his room. "Yes!" Evening says as he pulls his sunglasses out from under his bed. "Pooch! Get your Flank down here and lets go!" Monica yells louder. Evening throws his sunglasses into his back pack and he fly's as fast as he can to the front door.
Evening just getting to the first floor, he stops as hard as he can so he doesn't run into his mother. Just being an inch before he runs into a light blue mare, "Pooch!" Monica yells as he is almost about to run into her, "Lets go before you get late." she adds as they make their way through Cloudsdale to the school. "Okay Pooch, you better not get in trouble when I pick you up." she walks back home. When she get far away Evening say in a mimicking voice, "Don't get in trouble, na a na a na." then he enters the school.
Evening fly's to the class room and makes his way to the chair. The class goes by as he sits listing to the teacher talk. The bell rings for playtime and like everyday, Evening is the first one out of the room and on the playground. He makes his way to the fly track he fly's though everyday trying to get faster and faster. He takes steps to the starting line, clip, clop, clip, clop. His front hooves at the starting line. 'Three... Two... One...' Evening tells himself in his mind as he push his back hooves forward.
Wings flapping, heart beating and the wind flows though the multicolored mane and tail. To Evening, this is the best thing in his life. The adrenalin rush from the feel of the speed he is going passing the cloud pillars that he passes, his coat just gently kissing agents the pillars one by one. Forgetting where the finishing line is, he lands his face in a cloud wall. A loud POOF sound happens when he hits the wall. "Who put that wall there." Evening says as he rubs his head with his hoof. Feeling the adrenalin fade away he gets up, as he search's for somepony that may have put that wall there.
"Hahahaha." a green colt laughs as Evening rubs her head, "Tony! Did you do that!" Evening yelled. Tony walks out from behind a cloud wall laughing, "Ya I put it up just to see if you would really run into it or not." Tony adds as he walks to Evening ,"Your always like you are everyday. Just flying where you want to but to in the moment to look up." Tony adds as he walks past him, "It's so childish." he smiles as walking to his friends. Evening and Tony has had a long rival when they have a big race and tied.
Evening walks to Tony and his friends and tells Tony, "Tony! I dare you to race me right here right now!" Evening said as he looks at him. "Dude he just called you out..." said by the colt next to Tony, "Well, are you a chicken?" said by Evening. Looking back between his friend and Evening ,"Lets do it. Three times around the school and back. Deal Evening?" said by Tony smiling. Evening looks back at Tony and gave him a bad look. "Lets do this." Evening replied.
Evening and Tony stand side by side on the side of the school. They stand at a line where they start and finish. A purple colt stands in front of the two colts. "Ready! Set!" the purple colt looks at Tony and Evening, "GO!" he yells out as he gets out of the way. Evening starts of with a stronger start then Tony, but he keeps just right behind him. Faster and faster they flap their wings, taking a fast sharp turn with each turn on the sides of the school. Tony starts to get side by side with Evening. They make their way to the last lap but all of a sudden, Evening runs into a pink mare.
Tony keeps flying to the finish, but Evening ran into the teacher. "Ouch..." Evening said as he rubs his head with his hoof again. "Pooch!? What are you doing!?" ask by the mare. Evening looks at the mare and thinks fast, "Well... I was racing with Tony and..." Evening gets cut off by the mare, "You don't need to be racing in the first place. I guess your mom and I are going to have another chat." the mare walks back to the class room. Evening fly's to Tony, "Tony!" he yelled, "That race doesn't count!" he added as he stomps to him. "You Just mad that I beat you." Tony said as he looks at his friends.
"I ran into the teacher!" Evening said, "Then you should watch where your going." Tony said to stop Evening, "So I win." he added. Evening gets mad so he fly's off to the other side of the playground. He sits down with his wings folded and looking up with his light gray eyes, he thinks to herself. 'Why am I always the one who gets in trouble... I bet if dad was here everything would be better...' Evening says in her mind, 'Where are you dad... Why are you not back...' he adds as he thinks. "Hey Pooch..." he hears behind him as the voice brakes his though.
Evening looks over his shoulder seeing a light brown filly with white eyes, mane and tail. "Hey Lindsey... What are you doing over here..." he ask as he looks back up into the sky. Lindsey walks over to Evening and sits next to him. "I saw what happen in the race. You would have won if the teacher wasn't there." she says as looking up in the sky with him. "Thinking about your dad again?" she ask as she looks at Evening. He holds back a tear as he waits to reply to Lindsey, "... No..." he said after a few moments.
"You know its okay if you miss your dad... Heck I miss my mom and dad..." Lindsey said to help him out, "I live with my grandparents. They are nice, but it's hard to replace your mother and father." she adds as she looks at him. "Just remember, be lucky that you have what you have..." she stops right when the bell rings, "Well, cya around." she heads back into the school as Evening makes his way back to the class. At the end of the day Evening gather his things when the teacher tells him, "Make sure you stay so we can chat with your mother." Evening just replies with a simple, "Yes M'am.".
Evening heard his mom walk into the room, "Hello." Monica said to the teacher, "What did Pooch do today?" she ask as she looks at the teacher, "Well." said by the teacher, "he ran into me. he claim's that she was racing with Tony, but I didn't see him. I know he is a vary nice kid but hes getting in a lot of trouble." the teacher ends with looking at him, "I'm sorry for what he does. I'll talk with him when we get home." said by Monica. Evening and Monica fly home. When they get home Evening fly's up to his bedroom and closes the door.
Evening sits in his bed looking out to the sky. "Dad... Please come home... I miss you..." he says out loud in a genital voice. He hears his mom walk into the room, "Hey Pooch... You okay..." she ask as she sits next to Evening, "Ya mom... I'm okay..." Evening replies as he looks at her. "I know its hard to live without daddy..." Moncia replies as she shows Evening a picture, "I had to live without a dad to..." she said showing Evening a picture of her and her mother. "It's rough but you can make it though it..." she gets up, gives Evening a kiss on the cheek and start to walk out, "Well i'm going to go to sleep... Night Pooch..." said by Monica, "Good night mommy..." Evening replies.
Evening sits in his bed for about an hour as he decides to go to bed. Slowly he climes under his cloudy covers, watching the moon sit in the sky and dimly shine a light into his room. 'Daddy... I want you be be safe... Please come home soon... I miss you vary much... I'm trying to be the best I can... But I want you to be here to tell me how much better I've gotten...' Evening tells himself in his mind as it slowly drifts off to a dream land. Hopping when he wakes that his dad will be here to wake him up to show that he is okay...

Chapter2: The Feeling Of Butterflys.
Evening wakes up to the light of the sun shinning on his face. He walks down the stairs and slowly pas his mother to the basement. When he made it to the back room where all the boxes are. He moves some boxes to find the one he wanted. It is labeled 'Father'. He opens the box and finds all the things in the box that reminds him of his father. When he made it to the bottom of the box he finds something that he does not remember placing in the box. It looked like a handle with a shiny sheet of metal he looked at it for a few minuets. He found a latch like thing on the bottom. When he pulls it, the handle split down the middle. He held one of the sides as the other went down.
The shinny metal thing in the middle was a blade. He didn't know it was, but he liked it. Evening messed around with it for a few minuets. When he finished for now he took the knife to his mother. He placed all of the stuff back into the box and started to head up stairs. Evening walked over to his mother with the knife. he found in the box, "Hey mom, what is this?" he asked holding, "That looks like your fathers butterfly knife." Monica told Evening, "How did you find it?" she asked. Evening just looks down at the knife, "It was at the bottom of the box of dad's stuff and i found it. I started to play around with it and it was fun. I didn't know what it was, so I wanted to know what it was." Evening told his mother as she messed around with it." Monica smiles, "He loved his butterfly knives. He had a nice collection of them." She said looking at the knife, "He even named a few of his favorite ones." she added looking at him. They talk more about the butterfly knives.
A few hours later it starts to get dark. Monica stands up and says, "Well it is getting late. I think i'm going to go to bed." she tells Evening with a yawn, "Okay mom, good night." he replies, "Don't stay up to late. Get some sleep." she adds. Evening replies with a nod. They head up to their rooms. Evening takes the butterfly knife with him. He places the knife on the table next to his bed and fell asleep. When he wakes up from the light of the sun shine wakes him up. He stands up and stretches. When he looks outside to the sun he can tell he woke up earlier then normal. Evening didn't know what to do. He decided to go off and play with the butterfly knife at the park. Evening went to a spot where no pony can see him so he can try to teach himself about the butterfly knife. After about an hour of messing around with the knife, he hears some pony walks up behind him.
When he looked behind him, he sees Lindsey, "Hey Lindsey, how did you find me?" he asked, "It's not hard to know where you go." she replied, We've been friends for years." she adds. Evening smile, "That is true," he said holding the knife, "So what brings you here?" he asked looking at her. She blush a little and looked around, "Well I was just walking around and wanted to see what you were up to." she tells Evening as she tries to look away. He smiles, "So where did you get that butterfly knife from?" Lindsey asked looking at it, "Well I found it looking though my dads box." Evening said looking down at the knife, "For some reason I feel closer to my dad when I use it," Evening told Lindsey as he looks back down at the blade. Lindsey walked next to him and put her hoof around Evenings shoulder, "You really miss him don't you." she asked as Evening nods his head.
"I really do miss him." Evening told Lindsey as he looks into her white eyes. They looked into each others eyes as Lindsey broke it quietness, "Want to talk about him or are you okay?" she asked in a soft tone. Evening starts to grow teary eye, "Well I don't remember much of him." he said as they sit down next to each other, "When I was younger all that I can remember is him coming home late at nights and not stay long tine next day." he said looking at the ground where the butterfly knife rested. Lindsey slides her hoof on his back and rubbed his back gently, "What did you guys do when you had time with each other." Lindsey asked, "We always just wrestled around and joked. He always knew how to make me laugh. He made sure that he made me feel safe." Evening continue still teary eyed and paused for a moment. Lindsey tried to think of a way to cheer him up.
Lindsey looked down at the ground at the butterfly knife, "Did your dad show you how to use the knife?" she asked as Evening just shook his head and picked it up, "I just found it and asked my mother what it was. She told me that he had a collocation of them and even named a few." he added as he opens it up, "What have you learned from it so far?" she asked. Evening just took a minuet to reply, "Not much. I'm just toying with it right now." he tells her. They just stood their looking at the knife. Every few minuets Evening would move it side to side bending the light ray around. Sitting next to the Lindsey, Evening didn't know what to say so he looked up at the sun, "My mother should be waking up by now. I should head home. Wanna meet up some other time today?" he asked. Lindsey looked up with him, "Well I was going to go see my uncle today. It is going to take most of the day to get to his house, but tomorrow will be a good time to meet." she said with a smile.
As Evening smiles back at the light brown filly that is smiling back at him, "Then i'll see you where tomorrow about this time?" he asked. She smiles more and nods, "Yes." she replies as they get up. Evening flies off to his home as Lindsey watches him leave. When Evening makes it home, he sees his mother just walking into the kitchen. He thinks of a way to get into his room without his mother knowing so he slowly opens the door and softy walks behind as many things as he can so he wont be seen. When he makes it just about half way up the stairs, "Morning Pooch." Monica said as she is still facing the other way then where he is. Evening looks over to her, "How did you know I was gone?" he asked as he walks over to her, "I'm your mother. I know what you do all the time." she said with a joking smile, "And if you go off somewhere at lease leave a note." she adds looking at him, "I'm sorry mother, I just wanted to go play with my knife and it was a lovely morning to waste sitting in the house." he told her with a smile.
Monica smiles at him, "Well i'm almost done making you breakfast." she tells him. Evening smiles back at her, "Well i'm not hungry for now. Can you save it for later?" he asked walking backwards to the stairs, "Their won't be much left if I eat it all." she reply in a joking way. Evening walks up into his room and looks out the window, 'What should I do today...' he asked himself as he slowly looks down at his knife.
