Lightning Dust's Ascent into Alicornhood

And so, the now alicornified Lightning Dust decided to do some detective work-while somehow not revealing to the world that she had a horn.

          Lightning Dust put on a medium-sized, light orange hat. (It was all she could find.) [She didn't really look.] She stepped outside. She waved to other ponies, trying to keep her hat on, and not look suspicious as well, which was hard, considering the fact  that the hat she was wearing was several years old.      Lightning Dust burst into the library, and meandered over to the librarian (it was a library, after all.)  "Why hello, dear." said the librarian, adjusting her reading glasses. "What do you need help with today?" she asked, taking a slight glance at Lightning Dust's hat. "Oh, nothing. Just a book on unicorns."   "And what is this book named?" asked the librarian. "I dunno," replied Lightning, impatiently. "I just want to find a book about unicorns." "Can do, dear. We have lotsof books about unicorns. Our most recent one is called Wings to the Sky, and it's by Twilight Sparkle herself." proclaimed the librarian, as if she was bragging about owning a book. What an egghead, thought Lightning, but she told the librarian she wanted Wings to the Sky, and a few other books about unicorns. "Have a nice day, dear." the librarian said, but Lightning Dust was already gone.
