Chapters All friends give something to each other. For Rainbow Dash, there was nothing to give anymore. There was nothing to live for. Her friends had turned her down. Her home had gotten evicted twice. Now, she was broke. All she had with her was her depression.
Everything for Rainbow was certainly miserable. Despite her efforts, she always left the real estate without a house to buy. She lived in an alley, thankfully, with trash cans full of wasted food that was still edible. Rainbow Dash had forgotten the last time she took a shower. She smelled of dog feces. The cyan coat on her was now an ugly, dull grey. Her cutie mark was barely visible with all of the dirt and grime that had piled up. Her mane was extremely greasy and frizzy.
Rainbow Dash had a dream for the first time in months. It was a flash back of Twilight kicking her out of the Ponyville Library. "If you come back here without at least brushing your mane, you are never coming back!" was the last statement that she ever heard her egghead friend say.
Pinkie Pie seemed to be her only friend at all...
Rainbow was searching through her trash can in hopes to find food. She brushed her hoof against something harder than the rest of the garbage. She dug deeper into the can and found a bottle, almost halfway full of pills. Rainbow wondered why some pony would throw away such a thing. Her instincts told her that they were ADHD pills, as Pinkie Pie took one or two of these every night and every morning.
An idea sprang into the pale grey pegasus' head. She could, if her old friends would appreciate it... Pinkie certainly wouldn't, but every pony else will. If she could find a glass of water lying around somewhere, she could take a great deal of these. She would die for sure, but she wanted to do this.
She dug more. Her rainbow/brown mane rubbed against every piece she came across. Rainbow Dash found an empty root beer bottle. Catching glimpse of it, she held it up, then grinned mischievously. All Dash had to do was find the water well. Then, she could begin the process of suicide.

Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle were headed toward the alley that Rainbow lived in. "Rainbow?", Pinkie called. "Rainbow, are you there?"
No answer.
"Rainbow?"
Still no answer.
Twilight finally spoke up. "Rainbow Dash, this isn't funny! Come on out!"
"I don't think she's here, Twilight."
"No, REALLY?"

Rainbow flew towards the well. The bottle was sitting in her hoof. Rainbow saw the well in the distance, so she landed and slowed to a trot. As soon as she reached the "water hole" as other ponies called it, Rainbow Dash stopped and started to lower the bucket when she caught notice of the rope that was holding it. She beamed at the new idea and started to untie the rope to detach it. Then again, she could jump into the well, but that would ruin Ponyville's water supply for sure.
When finished untying the rope, Rainbow had a new idea. She would need another glass. She placed the glass root beer bottle on the ground. Rainbow slammed her hoof into it and picked up the biggest shard. This would be perfect.
She started back towards her alley. There was dangerous stuff all around town! Maybe if she searched, she would find plenty of options to take back to her can!
As soon as the alley was in sight to Rainbow Dash, Pinkie and Twilight trotted out. Rainbow dove behind a nearby bush before they could see her. "I was just gonna ask her if she was doing okay," she heard Pinkie say.
Twilight added, "I was going to pay her a visit to tell her I'm sorry for kicking her out and that she could come back if she would like."
Rainbow jumped out of the bush. She hollered after them. "Hey, girls! How goes it?"
Twilight and Pinkie turned around and gasped happily. They ran toward her, but stopped dead in their tracks, eyeing the various things on Rainbow's back. Pinkie spoke first. "What's all that? Is it a device that you're making?"
Rainbow gulped. "You could say...", she replied, scratching her dirty mane.
The purple alicorn raised an eyebrow. "Rainbow Dash, is there something bothering you?", she inquired.
The pegasus began to sweat. Twilight knew that she was telling a lie about the objects and how Rainbow was going to use them. "Well... Yes," Rainbow finally uttered before hanging her head in shame.
"Well, would you care to tell us?", the purple princess asked her grubby friend.
Rainbow had now let tears freely flow down her cheeks. "Twilight, don't you see?! I'm carrying a rope, a glass shard, and a PILL BOTTLE!!!! Don't you get it?! I'm committing suicide!!!"
Twilight's pupils had shrunk to the size of peas. Her hoof was covering her mouth and tears began to well up in her eyes. Pinkie was already sobbing, letting her hiccuping screams fill the streets of Ponyville. The pink party pony shrieked a few words to her broke friend. "Why?! Why?! Why would you ever do this to me?! I'm your bestest friend in the whole wide world!" She once again started to shriek inaudible words.
Offended, Rainbow Dash lashed out at the sobbing Pinkie Pie. "Well, I'm sorry that YOU never noticed! I know you love me more than anything, but this is for ME. Understand?"
Pinkie lunged forward on top of Rainbow Dash and planted a kiss on her cheek. "I want you to stay!", Pinkie said before sniffling.
Rainbow began to blush profusely. She then began to relax. Rainbow leaned up and kissed Pinkie back, but on the forehead. "I know, but I can't take much more of this."
To define the love she had for her, Pinkie planted one long kiss onto Rainbow's lips. The pegasus' eyes widened. "What did you do that for?!"
Pinkie rolled her eyes. "You know the old saying?", she asked before she said a line that she actually made up herself. She spoke softly, "'Give every pony super duper close to you a big hug, and maybe something more.'"
Pinkie Pie wiped a tear from her eye. Twilight tried to break the two mares apart, but failed at her attempt. "Well, if you're going to be swapping your saliva, shouldn't you two be doing it somewhere else more private?", the princess asked as she waved her hoof to a crowd of ponies that had gathered around.
Rainbow caught glimpse of the stallions as they snickered. They all did. She blushed, trying to push off the fluffy pink pony. "Pinkie," the pegasus whispered. "Would you mind getting off of me?"
Pinkie yelled at the crowd. "Hey! Go away and mind your own beeswax!"
Now, Rainbow Dash was suffocating under the party pony's weight. Pinkie finally got off of Rainbow's stomach and started charging toward the alley. "Rainbow Dash!", Pinkie yelled to the pegasus. "In here!"
Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow, but followed suit. She flew as fast as she could into a dumpster. Pinkie did the same. They both ended up in the same dumpster. Pinkie eyed Rainbow expectantly. "So, what do we do now?", the curly-maned pony asked.
Slipping a smirk on her face, Rainbow Dash got an idea. "We could continue," she offered, "I do love the taste of cupcakes."
With that, Rainbow grabbed her marefriend's pink fur coat, leaned over, and kissed her passionately. The party pony closed her eyes. She wrapped her arms around her Little Dashie.

Scootaloo had been in her room, waiting for her mother to come home. She was drawing a picture of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. In the picture, they had their front hooves wrapped around one another. Pinkie Pie was wearing a wedding gown when Rainbow Dash was wearing a simple white bow tie around her neck.
Scootaloo's father opened the door to her bedroom and sighed. "I miss my sweet little foal. Too bad she's all grown up," he muttered in a voice of pride.
Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "Dad, I'm still a filly," she reminded him.
A pained look flooded her father's face. "Yet, it seems like only yesterday I was taking you home from the hospital."
The orange and purple filly went back to coloring her drawing. She looked up again to see her father, Lightning Road, leaving the room.

Applejack had gotten tired and began to trot toward her bed. Suddenly, the telephone rang. The orange earth pony answered, but no pony spoke. She guessed that whoever was on the other end was waiting for her to speak, so she started to speak. "Hello? Is some pony there?"
Left without an answer, she hung up. "Strange ponies these days...", Applejack uttered to herself.
Apple Bloom stood in the middle of the clubhouse the next morning, waiting for the other crusaders to come. This morning was the day that they would finally get their cutie marks. She always said that, but this time, she was serious. She could feel her bones shaking with every step she took, which is like when you're up in the middle of the night, trying to get to the bathroom.
The wooden door to the treehouse finally opened, revealing a distressed Scootaloo. "I'm sorry Apple Bloom. I have to see Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie said so, and with her, it's always serious," Scootaloo muttered as she pulled out a piece of parchment.
Apple Bloom nodded her head. "I understand, Scoots."
Scootaloo began to turn around and leave. She had been on her scooter, so she exited the clubhouse very quickly.
Apple Bloom sighed. Well, at least Sweetie Belle would be able to join her.
Sweetie Belle appeared at the doorway, like Scootaloo, with a worried expression on her face. "Apple Bloom, I can't make it this time. I have to help my sister make dresses."
Apple Bloom groaned. Would she be the only one crusading today? "Okay," the young earth pony sighed.
The white unicorn trotted out of the doorway. She looked back at her friend and sighed. She felt sorry for Apple Bloom. She was the only one going to get her cutie mark today.

Rainbow Dash woke with a start. She glanced over toward the other side of the alley. Pinkie was laying there, fast asleep. Now was her chance. The rainbow-maned pegasus hastily jumped out of the dumpster. She slowly crept to the smaller trash can, where she hid the items that she found this morning.
Rainbow's wing grabbed the rope and she grabbed it out with her hoof. She then flew to the top of the roof and tied it to a rusty nail that was sticking itself. Flying back down to the other end, Rainbow tied it into a loop. She found an empty water bottle earlier and had filled it with water. The other items were ready.
Rainbow Dash flew back to the small can and popped open the lid. She grabbed the water bottle and pills. Her wing pushed down on the lid and turned it. It opened. She set it down and opened the water bottle. Rainbow Dash dumped the pills into her hoof and piled them into her mouth, taking a humongous gulp of water in the process.

Scootaloo had already visited Rainbow Dash and knows about her being suicidal. She cried herself to sleep that night, wondering if Rainbow really would commit suicide. All that the little filly was learning from this situation was way too much for a little filly to handle. Scootaloo was Rainbow's number one fan! How could she do this?
She and Pinkie tried really hard to help her, to reassure her, but despite their efforts, none of that worked.
Dashie's Final Words (Or ARE they?)
Rainbow Dash swallowed, sticking her tongue out in disgust. All of a sudden, she got intense stomach pain. It was working. Rainbow then grabbed the large glass shard in her mouth and placed it above her left hoof.
* * *
"There are CUPCAKES!", Pinkie yelled at her friends.
Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy were there. Rainbow Dash was not there, though. "I reckon that Rainbow Dash ain't gonna be here. Let's just start the party without her. Besides, who needs her?", Applejack remarked.
Every pony else nodded in agreement. Pinkie Pie did not like this. "Stop! Rainbow Dash is the best and you know it!"
Her friends stopped nodding and turned their attention to Pinkie. They all started laughing, but instead of laughing with her, they were laughing AT her.
"Stop! This isn't like you! You guys are Dashie's friends! You wouldn't do this! I know that!"
* * *
Pinkie screamed awake. She glanced toward Rainbow Dash and gasped. "Rainbow Dash!"
Across the alleyway, Rainbow Dash was slitting her wrist.
Rainbow moaned in pain and grabbed her stomach. She opened her mouth and vomited. White pills spilled out of her mouth. There was only one thing that Pinkie could do. She had to stop Rainbow Dash from doing this.
"Rainbow, stop!", Pinkie demanded as she tackled her marefriend.
Rainbow groaned again. This time, with exasperation. "Can't you let me kill myself in peace?", she asked.
"No! I can't let my favorite friend commit suicide! Do you not know what you mean to me?! You mean the world! I love you more than anything! I would never give you up for anything, not even all the sweets in the world!"
Pinkie stopped to catch her breath. Rainbow pushed the pink mare off and flew up to the loop in the rope, which had a trash can under it. She tied the loop around her neck and kicked the can onto its side.
Rainbow Dash chocked and clawed at the rope. Soon, about ten seconds later, she blacked out. Pinkie Pie grabbed the shard and began to cut the rope. It was easy, considering this is Pinkie Pie, and she defies logic all the time. Yet, this time, it was for a purpose.
Successfully severing the rope, Pinkie nabbed the frizzy coat of Rainbow Dash before it reached the ground. Rainbow Dash's face seemed to be puffed out and purple, despite the dirt on it. Pinkie dropped her to the ground and grabbed the shard again. She cut the loop around Rainbow's neck. She then ran as fast as her hooves could carry her to the Ponyville Library.
"Twilight! Twilight!", Pinkie screamed as she threw open the library door.
The princess jumped out of her fur. She turned to see a distressed Pinkie Pie with Rainbow Dash on her back. "Twilight, do you have an adrenaline needle?", Pinkie asked urgently.
"Well, that depends. Is it for a medical purpose?"
"Of course! Now, if you have one, give it to me. Hurry!"
"But-"
"Dashie NEEDS our help! Please!!!"
"Okay." Twilight ran up the stairs. There was a moment of silence, then Twilight came downstairs with an adrenaline needle.
Pinkie Pie quickly took the injection out of Twilight's hooves and jabbed Rainbow's chest. The cyan pony gasped awake. She looked around the room with surprise spread across her facial expression. "What happened?", she asked.
Rainbow glanced at Pinkie Pie and narrowed her brows. "I think I know what happened. I told you to let me kill myself in peace!"
Twilight was surprised to hear that. "Wait, WHAT?! You tried to commit suicide?!"
Pinkie lashed out. "And I said that I wouldn't let my friend commit suicide!"
Rainbow stood up and replied back with the same tone. "Why?! Why did you do this?! I thought you loved me!"
"I DO love you! That's why I saved you!"
"Well, you only made me more miserable!"
Pinkie backed away. Making her friend more miserable? That can't be right! She could only imagine how much pain that Rainbow was in because her friend kept her alive. She thought she would help Rainbow Dash, but instead, she only made things worse. Pinkie Pie's hair deflated and she began to hang her head in sadness. She slowly walked away and out of the library door, tears trickling down her pink face. "Well," she said while looking back at Dashie yet keeping her head down, " Goodbye, Rainbow Dash, my love."
With this, she ran out the door and sobbed.
Pinkie sprinted into Sugarcube Corner and threw herself onto her bed. She flew under the covers and cried herself to sleep. Was Rainbow Dash serious? Was Pinkie Pie only making things worse? She knew that when other ponies are mad, they say things that they don't mean, but the reason that her friend said that links in perfectly to why she's so furious.
The next morning, Mrs.Cake slowly opened the door to Pinkie's room with breakfast. What she saw made her drop the tray in surprise. Laying in bed with Pinkie Pie was Rainbow Dash.
The rainbow-maned pony snorted a little and her eyes slowly opened. She yelled in surprise when her eyes fell on the blue and pink pony before her. She flew swiftly out of the room. Pinkie Pie woke up with a jolt. She then rose her hoof to her forehead and groaned. Mrs.Cake slowly pointed her hoof out the door. "Y-y-your friend just left," she stuttered.
"I don't understand. None of my friends come to visit when I'm asleep."
"She slept on the couch because... she, I guess, was not enjoying her home and didn't want to sleep there last night." Mrs.Cake knew she was telling a lie, but she also knew that Pinkie didn't know that Rainbow slept with her, and she would be disturbed if she had to tell her.
Nopony, Nopony but Those Three Cared
Rainbow Dash made it to her alley as soon as possible. She glanced at the area where she attempted suicide. The pills were of no use anymore, but the other things were still there. Then Rainbow Dash remembered.
Twilight had scheduled a doctor's appointment for her.
She flew out towards the Ponyville Hospital. Once inside, she trotted to the assigned room. She sat in a nearby chair and waited. Her eyes fell on a safe. It read;
"WARNING! Lethal! Could KILL!"
Rainbow Dash walked towards the safe. She pried it open to see several needles. Not the ones that Rarity used to make dresses, but medical needles full of green liquid.
The pegasus darted her eyes from side to side and while doing so, she took one needle. She had another plan.
Scootaloo was on her scooter and was heading to a specific alley. Once there, she took off her helmet. "Rainbow Dash? Are you there?", she called. "Rainbow DA-ASH? Huh. That's the second time she hasn't been here."
"Hey, squirt. What're you doing here?" Rainbow Dash deadpanned.
"Oh. Rainbow Dash! What are you hiding behind your back?"
"Nothing you should worry about. Now, go on."
"Are you hiding something, Rainbow Dash?"
"No! Go away."
Scootaloo had enough. She flapped her wings with all her might and obeyed her idol. "Okay..."
The filly, before she left, caught a glimpse of the lethal injection behind her back. She then ran towards Sugarcube Corner. Scootaloo nearly broke the door down. "Pinkie Pie! Come here QUICK!"
"What is it, Scootaloo?!", Pinkie Pie inquired as she ran into the room.
"It's Rainbow. She's doing it again."
Pinkie gasped. She and the filly burst through the door to race to the rescue.
* * *
Rainbow lowered the needle. "Just one drop could kill," she muttered to herself. She pushed the point into her flesh and moaned in pain as she felt the practical venom being spilled into her body.
By the time Pinkie Pie would get there, she would be too late.
* * *
Pinkie Pie made it to the alley. She began to wail when she saw Rainbow Dash, laying down on the ground, wheezing. She uttered three words before laying lifeless on the ground. "You're... too... late."
Scootaloo ran away and got onto her scooter, setting course for the library. Once she got there, she burst open the door in hysterics. Twilight nearly died herself because of how scared she was. "What happened, Scootaloo?", the purple alicorn inquired.
Pinkie came trailing behind, sobbing as well. They both uttered the same words in unison;
"Twilight, it's Rainbow Dash! She finally did it!"
By now, Twilight was crying her eyes out. They all sobbed together, getting in a group hug so that they could comfort each other. Scootaloo stopped crying and wiped her eyes with her hoof. "Well, at least she did what she wanted with her life... she ended it."
Now, three pools of tears sat on the ground, never to be dried because of the love that Scootaloo, Twilight Sparkle, and most of all, Pinkie Pie stored for their Little Dashie.
