Chapters Prologue: Transformations
Celestia sighed, trotting back and forth in front of the castles infirmary.
Finally, after what seemed like several hours, the doctor poked his head out of the private room, nodding to the princess. She took a deep breath, calming herself before entering.
Before her sat Anonymous the human, or Anon as his friends called him. It was quite an odd sight when he first arrived, the failed teleportation spell by Starlight Glimmer ending up summoning a creature from a different world.
Anon was scared at first, wondering where he had suddenly teleported to, but after being told, simply began to laugh. Apparently there aren’t any ‘magical, miniature pastel colored horses’ as he called them, from his world.
But ever since Anon had arrived in Equestria, he seemed to slowly change. The once mischievous human began to seem less and less like himself as time went on. And now, He is currently sitting in the castle’s infirmary, due to how he was found.
Anon had recently locked himself in his room, refusing to leave for anything. With Anon refusing to come out, food, drink, and anything he requested was brought to him via a slot through his door, delivered by a maid. A couple of days after Anon had ordered an obscenely large amount of hard cider (the only alcoholic beverage the castle had), the maid came by delivering some supplies, only to get no response like she usually does.
She had several guards knock down the door, finding Anon unconscious, bleeding out of a large gash on his forehead, with an identical splatter of blood on a nearby sink. Not only that, but he had enough alcohol in him to kill the average pony, the only thing keeping him alive being his larger liver.
Celestia sighed once more, the sight of Anon’s thousand yard stare making her wonder what was going on inside his head.
“So, we managed to clean the wound well enough, it looked worse than it actually was. We scanned his body for any damage from the alcohol, but it seems his body took it better than expected.” The doctor sighed, looking away from his clipboard to glare at Anon.
“The only issues we happen to have are getting the actual victim to talk.”
Anon looked away from the doctor, an unreadable expression on his face. Celestia knew that magic seemed to go haywire when directed at Anon, so a magical reading on him was pretty much null.
Celestia moved forward, giving the human a pleading expression. “Anon, the only way we can help you and prevent any future incidences like this is if you tell us what is wrong. You have become so despondent lately, we don’t know what to do.”
Anon remained silent, unable to meet Celestia’s gaze. Finally, he sighed. “Just- ask Twilight. I told her some things about human nature about a month ago.” His gaze returned to the ground.
Celestia and the doctor stared at Anon, waiting for him to say more. When he didn’t, the doctor turned back to the sun princess. “Well, I guess that’s all he is going to tell us.”
He adjusted the clipboard in his hoof, before tearing off a piece of paper from it, handing it to Celestia. “This is a list of the medicines we will try on him, as well as some things NOT to give him. We’ll be keeping a close eye on him for some time, just to make sure he doesn’t try anything like this again.”
The alicorn nodded, internally cringing at the massive list of various potions. “Thank you doctor, I will go talk to the maid, as well as order some of these. And, just as a heads up, you do realize most of these magic based potions won’t work on him?”
“Yes, we are aware of his resistance to magic. Most of these are plant based, and others have heavy magic, rather than some of the weaker potions we normally give out. For now, the only thing we can do is to experiment.”
Celestia nodded, before heading out, fully intent on a conversation with a certain lavender alicorn.
***
Princess Luna usually tends to be the picture perfect model of stoicism, the most extreme of anything rarely getting any reaction out of her.
But, at the moment, Luna looked ready to kill everyone in the room, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Princess Cadence simply smirked at the princess of the night. “Ready to give up? I doubt you can win anytime soon.”
Luna simply growled. “NAY, THOU SHALL-“ She coughed before glaring at Cadence. “I shall win this tournament of the minds, and you shall fall before me and my mighty empire and weep!”
The princess of love simply rolled her eyes. “Sure, whatever you say. Just pay the two hundred bits.”
Luna sighed, letting a very un-princess like sound exit her muzzle. “By we just passed go…”
Twilight Sparkle looked up from her book, before rolling her eyes at the sight of their game. Ever since Luna had arrived from the moon two years ago, all of the princesses got together at a monthly basis to teach Luna about the modern world. Anywhere from certain sayings and language, to certain rituals and entertainment. She took great interest in these new ‘tabletop’ games, and found them quite fun. That was, of course, when she actually won.
All heads turned towards the door as Celestia entered Luna’s bedroom, her head drooped downward.
“Tia, art thou- I mean, are you okay?” Luna stood up, nuzzling against her. “Another difficult day with the nobles?”
Celestia sat on her haunches, sighing. “No, Day court has been fine. It is just Anonymous. His condition is getting worse.”
Luna blinked, before her ears drooped. Luna and Anon became best friends the moment the two met. Both barely knew anything about modern day Equestria, and Luna was a large fan of the mythology of the humans that Anon told her about.
“Aye, we have noticed his condition worsening, as well as the injuries he has sustained recently. Has he recovered?”
Celestia’s ears drooped as well. “Unfortunately, no. Apparently humans don’t heal as fast as most ponies do. It will be a while before his wound fully heals, and even then it will leave a scar.”
Luna sighed, shaking her head. “How did this all come to pass anyway? Why is he acting so?”
The sun princess raised her head, eyes directed at the newest member of the princess meetup. “Anon said that he told you some information about human nature about a month ago, which may help determine what is wrong with him.”
Twilight suddenly looked apprehensive. “A-actually… Anon kind of told me not to tell anypony about that kind of stuff.”
“Well, he was the one to tell us that you knew, so I can only assume that he doesn’t care if we know.”
Twilight sighed, looking relieved. “Well, we mostly talked about how humans interact socially. He said that humans were social by nature, and said that being alone for long periods of time could have disastrous effects. Some of which include depression, personifying inanimate objects, and all sorts of different things.”
Luna nodded sagely. “We have experienced this first hoof. We actually had a rock village on the moon, in which we lived. The village elder, Granny Granite, was quite kind to us.”
The other alicorns simply stared at Luna, before shaking their heads, focusing on the main problem.
Cadence blinked, looking confused. “Well, he is going through some tough times, but he isn’t alone. He can easily interact with other ponies to fill any social needs.”
Celestia sighed. “And yet, he still is going through all of this. Is there an element we are not taking into account?”
The group silently sat, pondering on Anon’s predicament. After a small amount of time, Twilight’s eyes widened, before she looked to her old mentor.
“What if it is just human interaction that Anon is reacting to? What if all of this is simply due to the fact that Anon is the only human in Equestria?”
Celestia looked to her old student, an uncertain look on her face. “But how exactly would we deal with something like that? As far as history goes, Anon is the first human we have ever encountered, and most of Equus has been explored.”
Twilight looked to Celestia, a grin adorning her face. “Well, we could always create some humans. There are a couple of temporary as well as permanent transformation spells that could be used.”
The other alicorns looked uncertainly to Twilight. “Not only that, but Anon has made several off-hoof comments about this kind of thing, even saying how it would be nice to have a small colony of humans here!”
The sun princess contemplated this as Cadence looked to Twilight. “I think this could also solve another dilemma as well!”
“Oh? What do you mean?”
“Well, remember how when Anon first arrived, there was a big rush to court him by many ponies?” Twilight nodded. “Well, he made a comment saying how he was only attracted to humans. With this new species, he could find a lover!”
Luna blushed, scrunching up her face as she folded her forelegs. Celestia’s face had slowly turned from uncertain to intrigued as the two younger princesses talked about how humans could change Equestria with their arrival.
***
You are Anon the human.
So far, you have been living in Equestria for about a year or so now. Your arrival was met with some confusion at first, both on your part, as well as the ponies’ parts. It was a bit chaotic at first, but you eventually moved to Canterlot at the princess’s request. Thankfully things got a bit better.
Soon after moving to Canterlot, you met Luna, and quickly found a friend in her. Both of you enjoyed the night sky, being alone, pranking Purplesmart and her merry crew… the list went on. Not only that, but Luna enjoyed your stories from back home, especially anything relating to mythology.
Granted, you were no scholar, but you gave her what you could remember from school. Things grew quiet, and quite nice after a while. Granted you would rather have stayed in your locked room rather than deal with what was in front of you right now.
Standing in front of you is a line of about ten ponies, with Luna standing in its ranks as well. Twilight sits nearby, a large tome resting at her hooves. Celestia stands to the side of the line, smiling at you, hoof outstretched towards them. You have no clue how to react, so you simply stand there, waiting for Celestia to say something.
When she doesn’t do anything other than stand there as her smile falters, you look to her with a bored look on your face. “Alright, I’ll bite, what’s going on here?” Celestia beams at that, before lowering her hoof to fully face you.
“Anon the human! We have noticed your mood growing dark over the last few months, so we have talked with our fellow princesses, and we have figured out what you needed! Pure Human contact!”
She raises a hoof, sweeping it before the line of ponies. “We have gathered a small group of ponies, who shall permanently become human so that the human race may become part of Equestria!”
Wat.
“Uh, what?” You can feel the cogs in your brain start to rust.
Celestia sheepishly smiles, looking at you with a pitying look. “Well, we figured the reason you were acting this way was due to you not having any human contact in over a year. So, what better way to solve that, than with humans in Equestria?”
You continue to stare at the line of ponies, your eyes running across its ranks. You see three pairs of stallions and mares, two additional mares that look heavily familiar, a tiny filly squished between her parents, and Luna.
“Not only will it solve your depression, but it will bring in a new completely intelligent species to Equus, something that hasn’t happened since the griffins arrived!”
After reviewing all of what Celestia had to say in your head, as well as greasing your mental cogs, you simply give Celestia a deadpanned stare.
“Nope.” With that you begin to make your way out of the room.
Before you get far, you feel a sense of weightlessness and the tingly feeling of dark blue magic wash over your body. “And where do thou think thy hoo- feet are taking thou?” Luna approaches you with a slight blush on her face.
“Anonymous the human! We have our eyes upon thee ever since thine arrival! We have sought to court thee with haste, but thou either alluded our attempts or were ignorant of such. When we discovered thine passion lay only for humans, we were devastated. But now we can properly begin anew! If thou allow us to become human, then perhaps we can begin upon the path of lovers, and aid in the population of this new race?”
By this time you are already blushing, but are not given enough time to respond, as the pair of mares you saw before walks forward. Before you is Bonbon, and the infamous Lyra, both of whom were one of the many reasons that you left Ponyville, if only a smaller one.
Lyra looks up to your floating form, a pleading expression on her face. “Listen Anon, I know we were an issue back in Ponyville, but I promise we won’t be now! The only reason Bonbon and I were curious about you was simply due to the fact that not only were humans classified as myths, but were also considered rare and incredibly powerful monsters. With us becoming human, we have no reason to pursue you anymore!”
The whole line comes forward, each speaking their own part, why they wanted to become human as well as why they should. Eventually, the small filly inches her way to you, eyes as large as platters.
“Pwease mister Anon? We promise we won’t be any trouble…”
“Okay, OKAY! Just put me down, and stop talking!” The room goes silent, and the magic surrounding your body fades.
“Look, I’m willing to do this, but I need to know some things first.” You look to Celestia. “What exactly do you intend for these ponies, other than turning them into humans?”
Celestia blinked before nodding. “We have planned a bit in advance. For one, we know how the nobles react and reacted to your presence, so every human will be all together under one roof, rather than be separated with risk of the nobles doing something rash to individuals. We also plan on you teaching these ponies about what it means to be human, as well as how certain bodily functions work. Other than that, the fate of Equestrian humans is up to you.”
You review this in your mind as you look at the ponies assembled before you. They all look to you with hope in their eyes. You contemplate Luna, as well as the filly for several moments, before finally looking back to Celestia.
“Before I do this, I must ask a question.” The princess nodded. “If Luna turns into a human, what exactly will be done about the moon?”
Celestia waves a hoof in front of her in a disarming manner. “Do not worry Anon. When a pony transforms into a different creature, they retain the same magic levels, as well as the ability to cast magic, no matter the creature. So even if a unicorn were to turn into the smallest of creatures, they would still be able to cast high level spells.”
You nod, continuing to stare at the group of ponies in front of you. You mentally sigh, realizing what you about to do, wondering just what kind of untold havoc this will bring upon Equestria.
“Alright, I suppose we can do this then.” The room erupted into cheers, before they positioned themselves back into their line formation.
Twilight got up from her position on the ground, heavy tome floating into the air. “Alright, this spell will be completely permanent, meaning that no spell can reverse this process. Does anypony still want to back out?”
When no hooves raised into the air, her horn began to brighten, slowly increasing in intensity, before a beam connected itself to Anon and the entire line of soon to be humans…
When the spell faded, and the smoke cleared, your eyes had widened in shock. Before you stood ten humans, ten actual HUMAN BEINGS. You actually started to tear up, not only at the sight before you, but also at the implications of what these ten simple creatures could do in Equestria.
And then time started up again, and all hell broke lose.
Almost all at once, every one of the humans fell either forward or back, the taller the human, the more force to the fall. The moment they touched the ground, they attempted to get back up, only to flop about like a fish when they realized that there was a difference between arms and legs. Several attempted to go on both hands and feet, contorting their backs in what could only be a confused, distorted yoga posture.
When that failed, the small child of the group attempted to crawl on her hands and knees, and when that produced a successful result, was then emulated by the adults. Then, Luna noticed how you happened to be standing, and tried to do something similar, which was then emulated by everyone else, starting the cycle all over again.
You honestly don’t think that you have ever laughed this hard in your life.
By this time, you are already on the floor, rocking about as you clutch at your sides. Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia are at a loss, moving this way and that in an attempt to help, only to be kicked in the face by the flailing human appendages, enticing your laughter further. The guards that happened to be somewhat hidden in the corners of the room had no clue what to do either, simply prompting to remain put.
By the time things finally managed to calm down, there was a small people pile resting in the middle of the room, arms and legs positioned haphazardly across the floor. Princess Celestia and Twilight spent their time nursing their wounds, occasionally glaring your way as the sound of laughter slowly morphed into a dull chuckle.
You sigh happily, wiping your eyes, before getting a good look at the pile of flesh in the center of the room. Your laughter was about to break through the barrier of mental thought, before your eyes fully registered what you were seeing. Any laughter immediately died, as you comprehended a flaw that the ponies didn’t seem to realize about this whole thing.
Mainly the fact that the spell didn’t account for the ponies’ nudity, nor happen to give any of the pony’s clothes. So you were effectively left with a pile of naked, sweaty, and panting humans.
A blush comes across your face as you get a look at a certain woman’s… well, womanhood, and you back away as you turn your head to the side.
The ponies take some time to deal with the flesh pile, employing the nearby guard’s help. You honestly don’t know why they don’t just use magic to make the process a whole lot faster, but Twilight moves into your vision, looking apprehensive.
“Mind if you help Anon? We have everypony calmed down, but we need to get these ponies up and moving to the sanctuary.”
Sanctuary? “Alright, I suppose I’ll help. Also stop calling them ponies. They aren’t ponies anymore.”
“Oh, right. So, what do you call humans then?”
“People. We call Stallions men, while mares would be women.”
She nods, and you look down at her with a frown. “Why did it take so long for you guys to get everyone situated anyway? Took quite a bit of time.”
Twilight looks at the group of newly turned humans. “We had to use our teeth and hooves instead of magic. For some reason, any magic asserted on them goes on the fritz, even Celestia’s magic.”
You shudder, your face contorting before you realized the other part of the sentence. “Whoa, your magic didn’t work? Can Luna still use magic?”
The lavender alicorn cringes. “We don’t know for sure yet. All we know is that our magic went crazier around her than any of the others.”
You numbly nod as you make your way over to the sprawled-out group. Did you somehow remove an ALICORN of its magic? You surely hope not.
You are knocked out of your senses by a kick of Twilights hoof, and you look to the humans in front of you. How the heck are you going to get an entire group of humans to learn to walk, considering how they have spent their entire lives with every limb on the ground? You are seriously wanting to call them the floppy fish brigade and call it a day, with all the flailing about they do.
You look to Luna, before holding out your hand so she can grab it. She gives you a confused glance, before grabbing your hand. You pull her up, her body growing unsteady as you bring her body into a normal stand.
You let go, stepping back to observe her balance, only for her to fall forwards. You just barely catch her in time, and allow her to sit back like the others.
“Anon, I must say that this body is much different than our own. While we expected some difficulty in the beginning, we did not expect anything like this!”
You sigh as you look at everyone’s weariness, before you remember the princess’s words. “Celestia, didn’t you say that ponies still retain their magic when transformed?”
She nods, an uncertain look on her face. “Yes, but our magic seems to not work when dealing with them, so it is quite possible that they have lost their ability to cast anything.”
You ignore the frantic looks of the ponies and humans around you, instead looking to Luna. “Well, there is only one way to know for sure. Luna, try to use magic to lift yourself off of the ground.”
She nods, before her face contorts into a painful look. A light glow surrounds her body, and you rush to help her to her feet. With your help, she stands, and you let go, allowing her to stand on her own.
Seconds go by, yet she doesn’t seem to be unstable. After a few seconds, she takes a step forward, and then another, before rushing forward, hugging you.
The others cheer her on, before the unicorns of the group try for themselves. Sure enough, they begin to move about as though they had always been human. The other tribes remain on the floor, sad smiles on their faces.
You frown at that, looking to Celestia. “Didn’t you say that every tribe has magic?”
She nods. “Yes, but only the unicorns are capable of casting spells.”
Your frown deepens. “Well, if they have magic, then why not use whatever magic they can?” You look to those remaining on the ground. “Come on, earth ponies, pegasai, use your tribe magic!”
Some uncertain glances are cast, before the small child of the group strains her face. Sure enough, her body faintly glows, and she stands up. She takes a few wobbly steps forward, before she seems to balance herself out.
The others stare in shock, before one by one they begin to replicate her actions, each body giving off a faint magical glow.
You smile, wiping away some stray tears, before looking to the small alicorn nearby. “Alright, Twilight, you mentioned something about a sanctuary?”
Chapter Two: Introductions
“Damn, you guys really went all out, huh?”
You stood in the main lobby/lounge area of the ‘Official Human Sanctuary of Canterlot’, or so it proclaimed upon the front of the building. The lobby area featured a small desk as well as a small waiting room, complete with crappy doctors office magazines. The lounge area was pretty much a massive living room, featuring couches, tables, a large fireplace, and several small bookcases.
The entire room was decorated with large amounts of plants, and looked more like a wintery lodge entrance than the average animal sanctuary. Not only that, but something also caught your eye. The lobby was fit with chairs made for ponies, while the lounge filled with furniture fit for a human.
You blink. “You used the furniture I had made for Hearths warming as a template for your human furniture.”
You shift your gaze around the spacious room. “Come to think of it, this place was HUGE on the outside, and everything seems to be designed for humans. How long did it take to do all of this?”
Celestia raised an eyebrow. “Well it certainly didn’t take a small amount of time. It took about three weeks to renovate this old mansion, and another two to fill it with furniture, for both humans and ponies.”
Your eyes widen. “How… how long have you been planning all of this?”
“Quite some time now, almost three months.” She catches your shocked stare. “Did you seriously think we did this as soon as we realized your dilemma? We had to think of what impact humans would have to Equestria, how many bits would be needed, finding and modifying a sanctuary, and more.”
Your brow furrows. “Oh? And what of the transformation? You didn’t seem to plan that out very well, considering what happened.”
Celestia looks away sheepishly. “Ah, w-well we didn’t have any spells that were temporary that happened to simulate what a permanent spell would do.”
You catch the waver in her voice, and your old shit-eating grin comes back. “Are ya sure about that?”
She mumbles something under her breath, but a shout interrupts any dickish comments on her behalf. “We could use some assistance out here!”
You chuckle, patting Celestia on the back as you make your way outside once more. You come to a scene of humans lying on the grass of the front lawn, almost all panting for breath. Only Luna remains standing, looking at you with desperation. “A little help would be nice, sir Anon.”
You roll your eyes, before helping Luna to her feet, taking care to prevent your gaze from going to her naked chest. You spend the next several minutes hauling ponies inside onto the couches. As you finish up, you contemplate how they managed to get in this condition.
When the ponies became human, they gained what Celestia dubbed ‘human magic’, which was literally just a resistance to magic from any outside influence. But their inherent magic also seemed to change, going from their natural tribal magic into something more ‘pure’, as the Princess called it.
Apparently, their magic was now incredibly easy to use, allowing casting easier than that of a unicorn, as evidenced by their self-levitation. But, in doing so, their magic has grown weaker, making it so that even a powerful unicorn would now have difficulty lifting a cup with magic.
And so here you have a massive group of magically drained humans, with the barest of abilities to do much else than to lie on the lounge’s couches and sweat everywhere.
You shake your head, sighing. “So, how long until they gain their energy back?”
Twilight speaks up looking at the pony-humans with awe. “Ponies naturally regain their magic within a couple of hours. They should be able to move again by the time that the sun needs lowering.”
You nod, taking this in. “Okay, well while we wait, why don’t we all introduce ourselves, seeing as ol’ Celestia here didn’t do the job.”
You smirk as you hear a groaning behind you, before moving your attention to the pony-human in the couch next to you.
You blink before he speaks. ‘The heck am I going to call these guys? I just can’t keep calling them pony-humans for the rest of their lives. But just calling them humans seem, weird for some reason…’
You shake your head as he speaks. “Well, my name is Strict Study. I used to be a teacher at Celestia’s school.” He turns his attention to the woman next to him. “And this is Hammered Nail, my wife. She helped to design this whole place and is quite good with building.”
You blink yet again noticing something that was immediately obvious. The entire group of transformed ponies skin and hair colors is nowhere near that of a regular human’s. Strict Study’s skin color is a light brown, with deep, almost leaf-like green hair. Hammered Nail has dark blue skin, with pink hair.
Nodding, you look to the next couple, looking to a man with a red color similar to Big mac’s, with a shaved head. “The name’s Struck Chord, happen to be a musician.” A small woman with light pink skin smiles. “My name is Flash Brush, I just paint here and there.”
A nod to the next couple, tending to a panting child nearby. A woman with light blue skin and light pink hair nods back. “Name’s Raining Shield, and I am quite certain that I am currently the only human royal guard in this place.” The father, Snow White skin and orange hair, looks up from the recovering child. “Needle Work, the groups doctor, it seems.”
The young girl, who looks somewhere between eight and nine, grows a massive smile. “My name is Moon Lily!” She has light blue skin, complete with long orange hair.
Two ponies look up, both of whom you recognize immediately. “And you guys are Lyra and Bonbon. I’m guessing Lyra will be an extra musician.” You give Bonbon a confused look. “But what about you? Are you still going to be a candy maker?”
She shrugs, looks down at her shoulders in confusion, before looking back up. “I’m actually going to be the cook. But I still will be making some sweets now and again.”
You nod, before realizing something and cringing. “Great just realized that I have seven large names to remember and I have difficulty remembering names as simple as John, let alone names like that. Mind if I give you guys nicknames?”
When the group nods, you start pointing to each. “Alright, Strict Study, you are now just Study. Hammered Nail, as amusing as it is to call you hammered all of the time, you will just be Nail.”
“Struck Chord, you will be Chord. Flash Brush will just be Flash.” You move your gaze to the small family, only to chuckle at the sight of the bouncing child.
“Raining Shield will just be Shield, while Needle Work will just be Needle.” You nod to the overly excited girl. “And Moon Lily will be Lily.”
You look to Lyra, Bonbon, and Luna. “I don’t need nicknames for you guys. Should be able to remember.”
You all sit quietly for some time, each human remembering their new names as well as those of their new species. You only look up when you hear Twilight muttering to herself. You snap your fingers, her head jerking towards you as you raise an eyebrow.
She blushes. “Sorry, just thinking about todays events. Or, more specifically, why Everypo-one, happened to have such a difficult time moving.”
“Twilight, these ponies have been living in the bodies of quadrupeds for YEARS now. They have no experience in any biped movement. They will undoubtedly be having some difficult times.”
She shakes her head. “But that doesn’t make sense! Ponies have used transformation magic for centuries, and we have never seen this problem. Even when ponies went into radically different bodies, they still moved as though they were born that way.”
You lapse into silence as you mull this over. Eventually, a grandfather clock rings its toll, marking the time where the sun usually lowers. A small exclamation of surprise rings out behind you, and you see the sun beginning to lower below the horizon.
Luna looks out of the window, a determined expression upon her face. She concentrates, making a sound somewhere between a growl and a grunt. Before long, the moon has been raised, and an exhausted Luna lies on a nearby couch. You chuckle at the sight.
“Well, its been quite a bit of time, everyone ready to head to our new rooms?” With a nod, the nine of the ten humans start glowing, and follow Nail to their custom rooms. You walk up to the limp form of Luna.
“You going to lay there all night, or are we going to head to out room?” She reaches blindly out with her hands. “Carry me?”
You blush, having no intention on laying any hands on the sweaty, naked form in front of you. “Luna, before all of this, you were an alicorn with the ability to literally raise the moon. I’m certain that you can make it up there yourself.”
She groans, but complies, knowing your view on nudity. As you walk deeper into the sanctuary, you look towards the Lobby.
“Before we head in Celestia, why IS there a lobby in this place?”
“Well, it’s for the small staff that will be running the sanctuary.”
A blink. “Staff?” She rolls her eyes, jabbing her horn towards the receding outlines of the humans.
“You saw first hoo-hand what these humans can be like. The staff will be here just to make sure nothing bad happens, as well as give assistance where needed.”
“Yeah, I can understand that, but a lobby?”
“We were uncertain if this is the exact number of humans you wanted. The lobby is there for anypony who wants to check in with ponies that have been changed. It is also there for anypony who WANTS to change.”
“Alright, I suppose that makes sense. But, if you don’t mind, I have no real intention on having any more flailing humans around. For now we should be fine with the current population.”
She nods, before looking at you sheepishly. “Also, one more thing before you head in, there won’t be any pony staff for a couple of days. We had extreme difficulty finding ponies who wanted to become permanently human, we actually had to go to other cities to look for those willing.”
“Thankfully, finding staff was slightly easier, albeit still difficult. We are currently still training them, as well as getting them prepared for living with a brand new species. Mostly this just involves basic training in whatever task they will work, as well as leaving Equestria for Griffinstone. Mostly just to get them used to another species presence.”
You nod, noticing that you are standing within the doorframe of your new room. “Alright, for now we should be fine. If anything goes wrong, I’ll have Luna use a spell to contact you.”
She bows, smiling. “Very well. I hope your ready Anon, for you are about to have the very first day without any pony help tomorrow. Good luck!”
And with that, she walks off, guards trailing behind her. You enter the room, too tired to do much else than sleep. You throw yourself on the bed, trying to ignore the snoring naked Luna in the bed with you as you begin to does off.
Your eyes wearily open, the almost mandatory yawn perching at you lips as you slowly drag yourself into a sitting position on the bed.
Beside you is Luna, happily snoring away, undoubtedly exploring the dreams of fillies and colts. (That sounded way worse than you thought it would.) You look to the window opposite to the room’s door. The sun already drifts on its daily path through the horizon.
You carefully pry the blanket from your body, passing by the sleeping form of the moon princess. One of the big things that got Luna and yourself bonded happened to be your sleeping schedules. You tended to explore the countless corridors of the internet, often going into the dead of the night, and even seeing the sunrise on multiple occasions.
You make your way down the halls of the sanctuary, before climbing down the staircase leading into the main lounge area. Unsurprisingly, almost everyone happened to be seated there, save for Lily. You let the cool embrace of the couch take you in before opening your eyes and addressing those assembled.
You sigh, instinctively covering your eyes, completely forgetting the humans state of nudity. The hand slides down, and you simply grin and bear it.
The humans assembled all look at you with varying expressions, most notably, confusion.
Flash gives you a look of concern. “Are you alright Anon? Do you feel sick?”
A headshake and a hand wave. “No, I’m fine.”
She raises an eyebrow. “Are you sure about that? Something clearly seems to be bothering you.”
You open your mouth to just tell them that it was nothing again, before it closed as you realized something. Ponies happen to be natural nudists; therefore, they would not have any problem with naked humans. If they were not told of how humans wore clothes and why, then they would just keep doing it.
“Actually, yeah, something is bothering me a bit. It’s just… I’m not entirely certain that you would understand why it happens to be bothering me.”
The gathering leans forward as you prepare yourself.
“The thing is, I have a problem with your… well, nudity.”
Curiosity is quick to turn into confusion, as the ponies just give you odd looks. Shield gives you a slight glare. “What’s THAT supposed to mean?”
You shake your hands in front of you. “No, that’s not what I’m saying.” You lean forward, getting comfortable for the inevitable long discussion.
“If you were to be randomly teleported to my world, you wouldn’t see countless numbers of humans walking around the streets naked. Humans from where I come from happen to always wear clothing.”
Lyra raises a hoof. “Whoa, hold on. So, what your saying is that humans ALWAYS wear clothing?”
You nod. “Pretty much. There are, of course, occasional exceptions to that, but for the most part, you hit the nail right on the head.”
Bonbon gives you an odd look, a strange mix of confusion and awe. “But, why? What is the point of wearing clothing all of the time?”
You rub the back of your neck. “Well, I know a bit about why humans wear clothing, but why don’t you tell me why ponies wear clothing?”
The humans turn to look at each other, looking uncertain, before Study looks to you.
“Well, its speculated that ponies started making clothing soon after they gained sentience, mostly to combat the bitter cold winters they had to endure. Soon after, some ponies began to wear extravagant clothing to show their social status. And, really… it hasn’t changed much from then.”
You nod. “Well, that pretty much explains why humans started to wear and make clothing. The only thing is, the whole ‘just wearing clothing for showing off’ thing, kind of caught on. Not only that, but it became so common and accepted that it became taboo to be caught naked, and later became illegal to be seen nude in public.”
The ponies turned humans looked appalled. Shield grimaced. “But, why? And how in Equestria did it become law?”
“Well one thing that pushed it forward was that usually the only time in which humans are naked together are during more, uh, sensual moments. So when humans were seen naked, it became attributed to more sexual thought.”
A couple humans blushed, some looking anywhere but everyone else, and one particular stallion began to have an issue. He began to get a goddamn boner in front of the entire group. His reaction didn’t help either, as he just stared at it in horror, trying to cover it up with his hands, only to pull away when it felt weird. He got some dirty looks, and Shield’s body began to glow, before she stood up.
You sighed, having a feeling this was eventually going to happen. When you first got to Equestria, you began to do some research on the ponies, just to see if they were similar to horses back on earth. Sure enough, they seemed nearly identical, save for the fact that they looked like they were made out of marshmallows.
This of course, means that they happen to share the same reproductive systems. They had sheaths covering their dicks, keeping them from flopping about, and can control when they happen to get erect.
As for Shield and why she happened to be standing up, this was actually something interesting to learn as well. When you realized that ponies just parade around in public in the nude, you wondered if it was considered wrong to have erections in public, considering how ponies can control such things. After some discussion with Celestia, and a brief visit to the libraries’ law section, you discovered that having an erection in public was seen just as badly as its human counterpart.
“Stop, Shield! This is actually another reason why humans wear clothing. Just… sit down, And Nail, put a pillow over that thing.”
After the two did what you said, you sighed, trying to think of the best way to put this.
“Okay, so the reason that Nail is erect is not because he WANTS it to be. Humans don’t have control over when they become erect, it just happens whenever they happen to think about anything related to sex. Occasionally, it might also happen for no reason, which I have had happen to me before.” You receive a couple of horrified looks.
“What?! So, one of us could get an erection at any time?!” Study looks upstairs, presumably where Lily happened to be. “But, what about Lily? She doesn’t even know about this kind of stuff yet!”
A sigh. “Sorry, but that’s one of the major reasons humans happen to wear clothing. We don’t exactly have the best anatomy for running around in our birthday suits.”
You get up from the couch, stretching your back. “I’ll be calling over a tailor as soon as possible to make us some clothing. If you have any questions that you want to ask in private, just talk to me. I’m heading back to bed.”
And with that, you leave the horrified ponies to stare at the spot you were just sitting in.
Somewhere in the back of your mind, a voice could be heard rolling around, clutching their sides.

“So, how do I look?”
Hoof meets chin as Sassy Saddles looks at the odd human, humming. Before her stood Lyra, clad in a white tunic, which flowed down to her thighs. The outfit came with a belt and a pair of brown sandals. Your eyes move to Bonbon, who was currently covered in a small blanket, looking at Lyra with a massive smile.
“It could use some better stitching, this IS just a template after all. But, of course, it is not my design to judge, that would be the designers job.” Her eyes drift towards yours. “Well?”
After some contemplation, you nod. “It’s the best we can do at the moment, plus, it covers everything up, so we have a winner.” In all honesty, you barely even knew how clothes were made, let alone some good designs for them. Thankfully, Luna asked for clothing during the time of the myths you had told her, and you went with that idea for everyone.
“I must say Anonymous, these clothes are incredibly simple. Are you certain that they are not to be decorated?”
You shake your head, looking to the rest of the humans with you. “No, I would prefer these to be as simple as possible. We have ten humans to clothe, so we need something done as quickly as possible.”
She nods, pulling the tunic off of Lyra, forcing you to look away. “Alright…”

You happily sigh, sinking into the couch. Sassy Saddles managed to make everyone tunics in record time, getting all ten done within a few hours. You seriously don’t know how ponies do it, but this wasn’t the worst you’ve seen. That title goes to Rarity, who managed to make a brand new suit for you, without prior knowledge to human anatomy and with a deadline of less than a week. You walked out of the Boutique fifteen minutes later, brand new suit folded on your arm.
As the group chatted away, you contemplated. These were not the normal humans of earth, at least psychology wise. They still happened to have a pony mentality, and were incredibly kind to you, compared to home. If these were the humans to lead on their new species, what would their culture looks like in one hundred years? Five hundred? A couple thousand?
You get up, looking to the group before you. All heads turn towards you.
“Everyone, I have a bit of an idea. For the past while, I have been thinking on our current situation, and I have come to a conclusion: that the humans in this room are nothing like the humans back on earth. While that makes itself somewhat evident with your skin and hair colors, it also is noted in your minds.”
You look to each one in turn, as you continue to speak. “So with this in mind, I would like to call our new species something other than human, as it seems a bit odd to me just to call all of you human, even though I have seen the contrary.”
A couple of confused looks are shared, but no one speaks up, and simply continue to stare at you. “While it seems a tad unoriginal and weird, I was thinking of something along the lines of Poman. So, if no one has any better ideas, we will call ourselves Pomen from now on.
With no one saying anything, you nod your head. “Then it’s settled. From now on, we will call ourselves: pomen!”
