Chapter 13-Friends and Rivals
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBack at Sycamore's lab, Steven Stone and Clemont stood in uncertainty at the Dimensional Shifter.
"Are you sure they made it through, Clemont?" Steven asked.
"Yes. The readings from the initial blast and the current ones are identical. Logically, I can say that they made it." Clemont replied.
"Well, we'll have to wait, then." Steven replied. "Let's go."
As they walked out, one of Sycamore's assistants rushed over.
"Mr. Stone! Professor Sycamore needs you in the lab right now!"
"Thank you. I'll be there shortly." Steven said. "Clemont, excuse me."
As Steven walked into the lab, he was surprised to see Cedric Juniper and Professor Sycamore watching a computer monitor display a pattern on the screen.
"What is the matter?" Steven asked.
"We've got a strange frequency coming from the shifter. We're trying to make sense of it." Cedric said. "The frequency is harmonizing with Nate's Griseous Orb, so we know it's Giratina. Other than that…"
"We don't know." Sycamore finished.
"Maybe...it's a message from the Legendary Pokemon?" Steven suggested.
"It could be possible." Cedric said. "We're trying to tune the frequency to levels capable of being heard by humans."
"Let me know how that works out." Steven said. "I think I might know who can help. Metagross, come out!"
Steven released his partner, who growled.
"What is it, Steven?" Metagross spoke through his telepathic powers, directly into Steven's mind.
"Can you analyze this frequency?" Steven asked his partner.
"Yes, I can try." Metagross replied. As Metagross's eyes glowed, Steven smiled at his partner.
"I have finished." Metagross said. "The frequency is a message from Giratina, relaying his success in finding the missing trainers. All are safe and sound, and the trainers sent to find them are safe as well. They are requesting help, as a new threat has risen. A man by the name of Corvo has revealed himself as a new evil to their world's inhabitants."
"Then we need to move." Steven said. "I'll get some trainers and head out."
"Get to it." Sycamore said as Steven walked out.

After a while, Steven, Alain, Sawyer, Wally, Cynthia, and Diantha stood in front of a swirling white vortex, courtesy of the dimensional Shifter. Clemont gave them a thumbs-up, and the six of them entered the portal.

"Think they got the message, Giratina?" Twilight asked.
"Most likely." Giratina replied. "My powers over the Distortion World are expansive. As long as they retain possession of the Griseous Orb, they should receive it."
"Alright." Twilight said.
"Uh, Twilight?" Came the voice of Spike.
"What?" she yelled.
"We've got more guests!"
"COMING!" Twilight yelled as she sprinted out towards the main hall. As she stopped, she raised her eyebrows at six more humans being helped up by Matthew and his group. One wore a grey suit with silvery blue hair. The next one wore black and blue clothing, with a flame-like scarf. The next was clad in green and brown, with leaf-green hair. He was currently writing in a notebook. The next one was small and pale, but he carried himself proudly. The next one wore robes of black and gold, and her blonde hair went down to her waist. The final woman had white clothing with light brown hair.
"Oh, there's Twilight now." Matthew said to the white one, who smiled.
"You're a friend of Matthew's, right?" Twilight asked.
"Yes. I'm Diantha, Kalos Champion." She said. "That's Steven Stone, Hoenn Champion, Alain, another Kalos Champion, Wally, Sawyer, and Cynthia, Sinnoh Champion."
"Nice to meet you all." Twilight said. "We're running out of sleeping bags, though."
"It'll be fine." Mason said. "Maybe your friends can lodge some of us at their homes? Not to impose or anything."
"I'll ask." Twilight said. "So, you came to help with our Team Nova situation?"
"Yes." Steven said. "We've done our research on him."
As Mason and Wally walked over to speak in private, Mason smiled at the small boy.
"You okay, Wally?" he asked.
"Yeah, I was just worried you wouldn't be okay." Wally said.
"I'm alright." Mason said. "So, who's the trainer in green?"
"Oh, Sawyer?" Wally asked. "He's from Hoenn. He's studying Pokemon, always writing in that Notebook of his. He has a Sceptile with him that can Mega Evolve."
"Seems like a strong trainer." Mason said, walking over.
"Hey." he said to Sawyer, who upon recognizing Mason as the Hoenn Champion, immediately started asking questions and writing Mason's responses in his notebook at breakneck speed.
"And you've got a Swampert with you, right?" Sawyer asked.
"Yep." Mason said. "And I believe you have a Sceptile, right?"
"Yes." Sawyer said.
"Well, Sawyer, If I may, I'd like a battle. My Swampert versus your Sceptile." Mason said.
Sawyer's eyes flashed with excitement.
"I'll take that as a yes." Mason said. "Shall we begin?"
"OF COURSE!" Sawyer said, his voice shaking with excitement. As the group proceeded to Ponyville fields, Sawyer and Mason took opposite sides. Brock volunteered to referee, and both trainers sent out their partners, ready to clash.
