Lavender arrived at the castle with no time to spare. Twilight had shot off magic into the sky alerting Lavender that her and Rarity were only five minutes away. She frantically looked through the bushes beside the entrance expecting to find Trixie but with no sight of her she became worried. "Oh man where is that pony? Maybe she's just a really good at hiding. I'd better get inside, they're right behind me."

Lavender made her way inside as Twilight and Rarity appeared out of the thicket. "Twilight dear why are we here? I'd rather be in bed."

"You've been in bed all day, you need fresh air every once in a while."

"I had plenty of fresh air yesterday."

"Sticking your head out the window for two minutes doesn't constitute as fresh air now come on."

"I still fail to see the reason you have dragged me here."

"Lavender wants to show you something in the throne room."

"Oh then why didn't you say so, let us proceed."

Twilight and Rarity both neared the door until the sound of trees and dirt shifting caught their attention. Spike jumped out the trees landing right in front of the two mares. "Ok so let me get this straight, you invited me here, then you invite her and expect me to stay. This is a load of.."

Twilight put a hoof over his mouth. "Spike! Please just listen. It was actually Lavender that invited you here. She want's to show both something in the throne room." Spike and Rarity made eye contact then just as quickly turned in opposite direction of the castle. "Come on you can't just make up for two seconds...not even for your daughter?"

Spike and Rarity closed their eyes and sighed. (Spike and Rarity) "If it's for Lavender."

They both entered the the castle emerging in the lobby. Their eyes shifted to Twilight behind them, who had suddenly vanished from their sight. Spike tried to push the door open only to find the door locked from the outside. "Hey Twilight! What's your issue, let us out!" Rarity turned and walked away into the hallway soliciting a angry reaction from Spike. "Oh so what, you just gonna walk away instead of helping get out of here?"

"I'll find another exit."

"Yep just like you to turn your back on someone huh?"

Rarity stopped straight in her tracks and turned to face him, anger explained her entire attitude. "What did you say to me?"

"Just...like you...to turn you back on someone. Familiar huh?"

"I had work to do you ungrateful oaf."

"So much work that you couldn't even say hi to me when I came home?!"

Rarity turned quickly and walked away. "I do not need this unpleasantness! hmph!"

"Hey, I was talking to you!"

"Talk to the wall!"

"You are so uptight!"

Lavender listened as the screams of their arguments echoed through the hall. "There they are, time to put the plan in action."

(Flashback)

"You want the great and powerful Trixie to do what?"

Twilight nervously chuckled as she rubbed the back of her head.

"We need you to use your......magic...and tricks to make us a fake shadow monster."

"Shadow monster? Like with like black energy swirling around and everything?"

"Yea...how'd you know?"

"I may have done it once or twice to scare some.....people out of their homes. That's not the point, As long as I receive the proper payment, I will create this..shadow monster for you."

Lavender jumped in joy. "Great! so just a reminder, Twilight will bring my mom and dad to the castle, they go in, and when I give the signal, Trixie will send the monster out, it'll attack me. Mom and dad will combine their parenting forces, beat the shadow up, and be back together. Simple."

(End Flashback)

Lavender nervously chuckled to herself. "Maybe this won't be as simple as I thought. Might as well try. Alright Trixie, bring it out!" On cue a shadow began perform in the middle of the room, a shadow so thick and dense, you could barely see through it. "Alright now have it attack me and I'l go ahead scream for my parents." It etched closer and closer until it was only inches away. Lavender fell on her back and began fake screaming. "Oh no! help help! please this monster is about to hurt me!" Lavender waited for a gasp or the sound of hoof and claw rushing to her position but nothing came, only the continuing sound of their arguing. "Um....Hey! Your daughter Lavender is about to die......Mom!....Dad!......Really? Ok Trixie back it up, I have to go see what they're doing." Lavender was about to stand up when she noticed the shadow still in her face. "Trixie back it up please." The shadow didn't move not an inch. "Trixie back the stupid shadow up!" The shadow began to move again but forward not backward engulfing Lavender under it's veil of dark energy. She felt herself getting sucked into a endless void as her legs vanished into the shadow. Her expression went from the plan is working smile to a frightful this isn't the plan frown. "Hey what are doing, let me go!" Lavender continuously pulled her legs out of the shadow as it seemingly vacuumed them back up. She turned onto her stomach and began clawing desperately at the floor slowly pulling herself out. As she felt the freedom of her legs, she jumped to her claws and bolted to the door. Upon opening, she turned left to reach her parents near the entrance only to find the shadow blocking the path. "M..mom,dad!"

"Just like a dragon you never listen to me."

"Because if everything you say wasn't about fashion or being sophisticated, i'd actually be interested in it."

Lavender turned and rushed down the hallway with the shadow on her tail. She turned back to see if the shadow had slowed down or anything to her advantage only to see a completely black mass trailing behind her. A large red crystal hung in the center of the beast which seemed to spin and twist the more the shadow moved. It let out a menacing roar, identical to that of a demon, and continued it's attempt at assault. Lavender let out the most blood curdling scream as the path she followed went up the castle. Spike and Rarity both stopped in their tracks as the scream echoed through the halls and into their eardrums. Rarity stepped down the hallway to see the door s to the royal throne open. "What in heavens was that?"

Spike listened carefully waiting for it to happen again. The scream echoed out once again and Spike instantly became worried. "That came from upstairs. That was Lavender's scream."

"And how do you know that?"

"Well we went to a nightmare night haunted house, and while I wasn't scared....she may..have been...a tiny bit scared."

"More reason for me to despise you later but now, let us go save our daughter."

"Might as well let me go save her then, she has my dragon blood after all."

"You mean my fabulous pony lineage listen we will have this argument later."

Rarity took off towards the stairs with Spike right behind her. Through that entire time, Lavender had made her all the way to the top of the castle. She cowered in fear as the shadow pushed her into the top room, a bedroom to be exact. To the left of the door was luxury bed and on the right, a bathroom but completely opposite of the door was a set of double doors leading out to a balcony, and the shadow was pushing her right to it. She desperately tried made her tried to make her way to the bed or the bathroom but it was like the shadow knew what it was doing creating a black wall of energy to block any and all attempts. Instead it was like it was trying to keep her focused on the balcony. Lavender screamed in terror as high as it she could. Upon hearing this, Spike and Rarity quickened their pace up the stairs almost at a blinding speed. Lavender's screams sounded like they were right in their ears as they reached the last set of stairs. "Come on Rarity hurry up!"

"Do not rush me dear, I'm going as fast my body will permit." At this point the monster's black and dense structure had suddenly increased in transparency allowing Lavender to barely see through it. They busted through the doors with amazing force as the shadow had Lavender only centimeters away from the edge. To make matters worse, the balcony was in bad condition leaving little force to need break it. "Mom, dad! Help me please it's trying to ahhhhh!"

Lavender dodged as it shot out a stream of energy almost like a bullet. Rarity picked up the biggest thing she could, that being the bed, and tossed it. The monstrous beast just swallowed it up like it was candy and continued it's assault. "What is that monstrosity! Lavender!"

Spike rushed the monster grabbing onto it's crystal as leverage and attempting to push through the darkness. He got a claw just far enough into the dark mass to reach out to Lavender with determination. "Come on grab my hannnnd....Daddy's got ya.." Lavender reached inside the monster to grab her father's hand, she was almost there. Rarity rushed her hoofs to Spike's backside, trying to push him farther in, that was until Spike felt the sudden urge to remove her with his feet. "Let me save her! You don't deserve to touch her!"

Suddenly the mass grew bigger in size, the crystal glowing a deadly bright red. A dark flash filled everyone's eyes as it began pushing Spike and Lavender back. Lavender began shedding tears as her father's hand grew farther away. "No dad....dad...no...please."

"Lavender! Stop you stupid blob! Come on keep reaching!"

Lavender and Spike felt a sudden push and everything seemed to go in slow motion. Spike watched as his daughter broke the restraints of the balcony, as she began to vanish from his sight and plummet towards solid ground. Lavender watched as she began her descent to the ground. She closed her eyes and began to remember, remember all the times that she had with her parents. When she was young and Sweetie Bell came to babysit, when Spike would play with her like all dragons do, when Rarity would help her with all her problems including the female only ones, and not to mention her time with Fizzle. She shed a single tear among the rest that originated from happiness knowing that this would help her parents back together. "Thank you everyone, especially you mom and dad, for welcome me with open arms and giving me the one thing a cherish, Friendship,no...Family." She fell awaiting the imminent until everything faded to black.

Twilight's voice slowly trailed in as Lavender began opening her eyes. "Lavender?....hey guys she's waking up, Lavender?"

"Owwwwwwww! I could seriously use like every painkiller you can get."

"I'll see what I can do but for now how do you feel?"

"Hurt in places I didn't even know I had."

"Well yea, a 4 story drop will do that."

"40 feet? How am I not dead?!...ow.."

"Don't get to worked up, it was a miracle the doctor said. You were almost out like light but guess who got you here in the nick of time."

Lavender looked to her left to see Spike and Rarity sitting next to her. "Dad, mom!"

Spike was able to put a smile among his tear stained cheeks as he gently caressed her head. "Hey there kid, there is no level for the amount of worry I had."

Rarity pushed Spike back and held her claw in her hoof. "We were both worried hon but what were you doing in that castle anyway?"

Lavender looked back at Twilight, she nodded, then Lavender turned her head back. "Well my original plan was to make you guys think someone was attacking me then you would get back together after utterly destroying the monster but the backstabbing..."

"Not backstabbing." Twilight interrupted. "Actually there was a note that says it was in the bushes but I actually found it way inside the castle." Twilight handed the note to Lavender.

If you're reading this, then I am not in these bushes as planned. The great and powerful Trixie had something.....come up and so I have to postpone our...pan if at all possible.

Sincerly The Great and Powerful Trixie.

"So you're telling me, she just left....after she promised to help?"

Twilight nodded. "It....was expected really."

"Well what happened after I fell?"

"I have no idea, all I know is that the castle was busted up and Spike and Rarity were carrying back here."

Spike nervously chuckled and tapped his claws together, Rarity did the same. "We might able to answer that."

(Flashback)

"(Roar)"

Spike crashed through the walls of the castle looping in and out of concrete walls as he clawed at the shadow. The shadow fled up and down the castle out of fear of the two, at this point, malevolent forces chasing it. Spike using his draconian strength tried try and tear through it only to rip through a concrete wall and Rarity who had no ability to do so before was firing lasers at least 2 feet in diameter which punched giant holes in the castle.

(End flashback)

Spike rubbed the back of his neck. "Yep, reached a new level of anger there."

"Quite a destructive bunch we are."

Lavender happily laughed even though it hurt like no pain she had ever felt before. "Ow.....at least I know you guys care. I'm kinda tired though, think I'm gonna go to sleep. Before I do though, any word from Fizzle?"

Rarity nodded. "Yes, we received word back that he jumped on a train as soon as possible."

"He'd better show up, can't have my own husband in this mess too."

"We're not a mess dear, we're just....different."

"(yawn) Different....that's us....alright." Lavender slowly drifted into sleep allowing Twilight to leave the room and leave the two alone with a sleeping daughter. Spike crossed his arms and looked at Rarity. "Different is an understatement."

"What do you mean Spikey?"

"Just...Don't. As soon as she's able I'm taking her to the Dragon Lands."

"What?..."

"You said we'ed talk about later, it's later."

"If you think you're going to take my daughter away, you're sadly mistaken."

Spike and Rarity both glared at each other until Twilight flashed into the room and flashed them out. All three of them appeared back inside Twilight's library. Twilight used her magic to sit both of them down, the look of complete anger on her face. "Are you two kidding me! You two are the most irresponsible and selfish couple I have ever met. Your daughter is sitting in the hospital in pain and you two are just gonna keep arguing. She could've died! I know Gilda is a jerk but this is a whole new level! You guys don't need a pick me up, you need a Celestia." With that she flashed out leaving the couple to stare in shock. Spike stuttered with his words as his face returned to normal. "Wow.."

Rarity synced with Spike's expression. "I've never seen here so...infuriated."

"I think we'ed better listen to her."

"Yes, less we receive her wrath once more."

"So let's talk."

".........Where do we start?"

"I guess with what we told Lavender. You first."

"Why were you cheating on me?"

"Cheating? What do you mean cheating?"

"I know Spike, about you and Ember."

"You can't be serious. I wasn't cheating."

"Then what were you doing huh, bunking it up with good old little Lord Ember for a quickie."

"Are you kiddin me. Hehehe!"

"What's so funny?"

"I wasn't sleeping with her, I was going to her for love advice."

"What...love advice?"

"Yes love advice. See, at some point I felt like maybe it was something I wasn't doing right that you just stopped paying attention to me so I started asking around for love advice. Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow, hell even Pinkie Pie. Eventually I ended up at Ember's."

"Wasn't paying attention to you? When....Oh my god, are you talking about when I got to wrapped up in my work. I knew that would cause some negative outcomes but I never once thought it would cause us to split apart." Rarity laughed for a full minute before smiling back up at Spike. "Oh my, how could something so stupid break up a love so powerful?"

"Well obviously our love is still very powerful."

"How so?"

"Else we wouldn't be here laughing about something that was so almost so serious." Spike put his claw under her chin and brought his face close to her's. "Rarity.....I'm sorry about making you think that I was cheating, and especially about leaving for all that time. I can only imagine the sadness and anger I put you through."

"And I as well Spike, For getting too wrapped up in my work. It must have seemed like I didn't want you anymore."

"Are you serious, after all that chasing after you as a kid...Rarity I love you."

"Spike you big lovable child, I love you."

They slowly brought their lips together, passionately kissing and moaning as Spike's tongue danced around Rarity's mouth. It was then that at the hospital in Lavender's room where Twilight was sulking, that she suddenly lifted into the air, injuries and all, and began glowing. Twilight jumped out of her chair with confusion on her face. "Lavender? What's going on?"

Lavender woke up in a panic, much to her regret. "ow ow ow, Twilight's what's happening?!"

Spike and Rarity deepened their kiss so intensely they could practically hear their own breathing through their nostrils. As this happened Lavender grew brighter and brighter until the light completely encased her. They finally broke their kiss, their heavy breaths filled echoed throughout the room as Lavender floated slowly back into her bed. The light faded from her body, surprisingly she stretched, her bandages gone and cast vanished, she was in complete good health. "Lavender? Wha...what happened...your injuries.."

"Twilight, how did this happen? Look at me, all those broken bones I had, they're just fixed. Did you use some kind of magic or something."

"Well it was magic but not my magic."

Spike and Rarity opened the door to her room looking quite confused as Lavender was completely healed. Spike picked up Lavender as spun her around. "Lavender wow! look at you, you're all better. Thanks Twilight."

"I didn't do it."

"Rarity?"

"You know what we were just doing dear."

Twilight perked up when she heard that. "What were you doing exactly?"

"Well it's a bit.....um...we can't say in front of Lavender."

"Mom I'm not a kid anymore, you don't have to hide it anymore."

Spike's face turned red with embarrassment. "We were....hugging."

Lavender laughed a little. "Foreplay dad?"

"What?"

"I know what foreplay is?"

Rarity gasped in embarrassment. "H...How do you know what foreplay is?"

"It's called I'm married mom. It was bound to happen."

"Oh well...heavens."

Twilight gave a attention seeking cough. "Back to the point. Where you two just doing that?" Spike nodded. "For how long?"

"About a minute deary."

"About the same time Lavender began to glow and suddenly heal."

Lavender jumped up in her bed with a look of shock. "Twilight, are you saying that their....foreplay....which i'm considering is love...actually had some kind of magical effect in healing me."

"As the princess of Friendship and Magic, it is quite possible that their emotions might have an actual effect on certain things like your healing or a better example, the shadow."

"The sha....oh the shadow, that thing that chased me through the castle right. What about it?"

"Well the only reason that thing appeared is because of Spike's and Rarity's constant bickering. Their hate for each other manifested into something that's been waiting to get out of that castle for a long time. Of course it never had the chance, you two made sure of that."

Lavender jumped up an down on her bed. "Well thank Celestia they did, else I really would be dead. But I'm all better and ready to go."

Spike laughed as he grabbed her out of mid air. "You might wanna clam down there, we still have people who wanna know you're ok. Fizzle for one, and Pinkie seemed to be the most worried out of anyone. She even thought of giving you cake to help you feel.....better i guess."

"Why didn't you let her, I love cake."

Spike and Rarity both huddled around Lavender and hugged. We love you to sweetie."

It was then that a higher pitched voice caught everyone's attention not to mention feeling another pony on his back. "I love you guys too!"

Spike reached and grabbed whatever was on his back and held it in view. "Pinkie?! How did you get in here?"

"I came in through the window silly."

Lavender shook her head and smiled. "That's Pinkie."
