Changing Time

Day 1

It was a dark day. I had been running for so long. Sunburst had been my only line to the world outside of the wastelands I called home, but without her, I was lost. I didn't want to make it obvious that I ran off, so when I made it to Ponyville I was disguised as Sunburst.

Day 31

After a month of living in Ponyville, no pony knew I was a changeling hybrid, which is lucky because I am no normal changeling! When I change I not only gain the pony's looks and personality, but I also learn everything about them from past to present! Which explains why I never dare to change into Screwball, Discord's daughter. Sunburst was a good choice as a cover because no pony knew she got killed, not even Celestia! Sunburst has always lived in Ponyville, but I still had to enroll in Cloudsdale flight school for that month and Sunburst was ready for her final exam...I'm not.

Day 61

It was flight test time and I was NOT ready! When they called Sunburst's name, I was so nervous! My natural bat-pony looking form was too suspicious looking, but I was regretting choosing Sunburst's alicorn form! I started the test strong, only to fall from exhaustion half way through. I went to the gate, crying, meeting up with only one other pony...Starburst. Sunburst's cousin was weaker than her with flying, but far stronger than her with magic. She looked at me surprised that I had failed, all I did to show her it wasn't Sunburst was flash my eye color from purple, to my natural red eyes and back.

"Candy?!" Starburst exclaimed, "Where's Sunburst??" Starburst had heard of me from Sunburst, keeping the secret.

"She's...she got too close to my mom." Starburst had even more tears streaming down her face as we were taken away.

Day 68

After a few days we BARELY escaped the rainbow factory! I was able to change into an employee and got Starburst and myself out! I couldn't do the same for the others though, we didn't see the boss and Starburst and I are both too traumatized to talk about it. We agreed that it never happened, but I knew it would haunt me in my dreams. We were able to fly back to Ponyville and get back to our homes before any pony noticed something was up. We were still terrified, but I was scared about something else as well...my first day of school for the season. In one week, I'd be handling Sunburst's school life.

Day 75

It was a sunny spring day, the last day of allergy season. I had been holding back sneezes all day! Whenever I sneeze, I change into my changeling form, so I was scared. School was just about to finish up, and I almost got out of the playground without sneezing. A tan-ish orange colt with dark brown hair who looked about my age, stopped me in my tracks.

"Hey can you help me with something?" He asked.

"What do you need help with?" I held back a sneeze.

"Well, I lost a certain device, oh there it is!" He was cut off upon seeing the thing he was looking for, and he picked it up saying, "Never mind." He started to walk off, when I sneezed. "Oh bless you!" He turned around only to see me in my changeling form. I looked at him after changing into my true bat pony form, mumbling.

"Go ahead, run like every pony else." I started to cry.

He only looked at me and said, "I'm not scared!"

I looked at him and sniffled, "You aren't?? But I..."

He smiled at me and simply said, "My name is John, John Rim. And you are?"

Another tear came to my eye as I smiled, "I'm Candy."

After that day, John and I started hanging out every time we ran into each other! He didn't go to school but he met me each day afterwards. As for me, I was just happy to have a friend I could talk to when it comes to my...abilities. I finally felt safe.
