The Unexpected Part 1

While Spike was getting the ink, quill and parchment, Twilight was thinking about what to write to Princess Celestia and Luna and also thinking on how they will react to the situation at hoof.  It was about 5 minutes after Rainbow left when she was starting to panic.

‘What will Princess Celestia do when I show her that I am now an alicorn? What will my friends think of me when they find out?’ she thought to herself just when Spike got back with the supplies. “Ah, Spike, are you ready to write the letter to the princess?” she asked her number one assistant.

“Yeah, let me know what to write.” said Spike in tone that was very common for him.

‘Dear Princess Celestia

This letter is not one of my friendship reports you requested me to send you, for this is an emergency that requires    both you and your sister, Princess Luna.

If it’s not too much trouble for you, I would like for you and your sister to come to the library at 5 today. I will explain the situation then between you and the other Elements of Harmony.

Twilight Sparkle’

“Did you get all of that Spike?” she asked in a concerned tone.

“Yes I did. Would you like me to send now so you can get ready for the meeting?” he said, rolling up the scroll and putting a seal on it.

“Would you please.” she said. “Thank you Spike, I don’t know what I would do without you around.”

Spike breathed out a green flame that ignited the scroll and sent it on its way to the princess. “You would probably be losing everything and be late to every appointment you make.” he said in a nonchalant voice.

****Mean while, across Ponyville****

Rainbow Dash was on her way to Rarity’s store to inform her of what is happening later that day. As she was flying through the skies of Ponyville, she thought she heard her name being called. She stopped and looked around, and saw her bright pink hyper friend waving at her.

“Hi Rainbow, whacha doin’?” Pinkie asked with an ear-to-ear smile plastered on her face.

Rainbow couldn’t help but giggle at her friend’s always chipper attitude. When her giggle fit finally died down she responded, “I was on my way to Rarity’s to let her know to meet at Twilight’s at 5 today, but since you now know, want to help me tell the other’s?”

“Sure, I’ll be glad to help. I’ll go tell Rarity and go tell Applejack and Fluttershy, okay?” Pinkie asked.

“Sounds like a plan to me. See ya later Pinks.” Rainbow said as she sped off to Sweet Apple Acres.

****Back at the library****

Twilight was pacing around the library proper nervously thinking of what might happen when she lets the princess’s and her friends know. ‘What are they all going to think? How will they react to me now that I’m an alicorn?’ She was thinking questions like this since the letter was sent thanks to Spike.

It was now 3:30, which meant an hour and a half till everyone arrived. Thankfully she had Spike around to help her get everything ready. While they were organizing the bookshelves by the staircase, Spike made a sound like he was about to throw up. Instead of Spike tossing his lunch, he belched out a green flame that materialized into a scroll which he promptly grabbed and un rolled it.

“Who is it from Spike?” Twilight with curiously.

“It’s from the princess.” Spiked said, then read it aloud.

‘Dear My Faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle,

I have let Luna know of your summoning and we will both be there on time with a few royal guards as a precautionary to the emergency. Also, when I received your letter, I was talking with your family and they will be accompanying Luna and myself so they may also witness whatever you have to say.

Princess Celestia’

Now Twilight really was starting to freak out after hearing what her mentor had just told her. “My family is coming with the princess’s. This is not good, this is not good at all. What am I going to do now? SPIKE...SPIKE,” she said before being cut off.

“What is it Twilight? What do you need?” he asked holding his left ear from Twilight yelling into it, with some slight concern in his voice.

“I need you to continue cleaning this room while I go to my room to get something to cover these wings so everypony doesn’t know I’m an alicorn before I tell them. Excluding you and Rainbow Dash.” She said trying to calm herself down.

Spike gave a mock salute and got back to work while Twilight went to her bedroom upstairs.

**** Carousel Boutique 3:35****

Rarity was busy working on a new clothing line for Fancy Pants in Canterlot. She was just about to sew the bridal to the rest of the design when she lost her concentration by a knocking on the front door of the shop. Being the good business pony she is, she went to go see who was at the door.

“Welcome to Carousel Boutique where everything is unique, chic, and… oh hello Pinkie darling. What can I do for you this fine afternoon?” she asked in her always formal voice.

“I ran into Rainbow while doing my normal thing. She was going to gather you, me, and the rest of friends to meet at Twilight’s at 5 today. Saying something about an emergency.” Pinkie said in a rapid voice to were no-pony could understand it.

Rarity tried to comprehend her friend’s speedy explanation. After she fully comprehended what her friend had just said, she smiled and responded happily. “Of course I will be there to help our dear friend in her time of need.”

“Great, Rainbow is going to tell Applejack and Fluttershy right now.” Pinkie said as she was leaving. “See you at Twilight’s in an hour and twenty minutes.”

****Sweet Apple Acres 3:40****

It was now 3:40 when Rainbow made it to Sweet Apple Acres to inform her athletic friend, Applejack, of the situation. When she arrived, she decided to check the house to see if anypony was inside the house.

She knocked on the door three times, and waited a couple of seconds, but got no response. She knocked a little harder and said, “Hello, anypony in here. Applejack, it’s me, Rainbow. Hello.”

When she got no response, she decided to check the fields for the farmer. She took to the air and started scanning the vast orchard. She started hearing faint thumps come the west of where she was at that moment and took off in that direction. When the noises got louder, she started looking around for any sign of the farmer. While searching, she a brown Stetson hat out of the corner of her eye and flew down to talk to her friend.

“Yo, Applejack,” she screamed from just above the tree line. “I need to tell you something very important.”

Applejack looked around until a blue blur landed right beside her. “Whacha need RD?”

“Twilight wanted me to let you know to be at her house at 5 today. She will explain everything at that time.” Rainbow said with a commanding tone.

Applejack thought about her friends words then smiled and said, “O’ course ah’ll be ther to support our friend. I’m not lyin’ when I say ah ain’t a tiny bit curious as to what this is ‘bout.”

Rainbow smiled and flapped her wings to get air born, “Great. Now all I need to tell is Fluttershy. See ya at Twilight’s at 5.”

****Fluttershy’s cottage 10 minutes later****

Fluttershy’s cottage was a good twenty minutes away from Sweet Apple Acres, but being the fastest flyer in Equestria, Rainbow Dash made it there in ten minutes. When she arrived, she saw the canary colored Pegasus feeding her chickens, so she went over there.

"Hey there Flutter’s. What s’up?”  Rainbow asked in a nice, gentle way as to not frighten her friend, but it was all for naught.

Fluttershy squeaked and hid behind her mane. She glanced a peek and brightened as she saw her life-long friend standing there with a little bit of shame in her eyes for scaring Fluttershy. “Hello there Rainbow. What can I do for you?”

Rainbow’s smile came back as she noticed her friends change in demeanor then responded. “Twilight wanted me to inform you and the rest of the group to meet at the library at 5 today. She also sent a letter to the princess’s asking them to come as well.”

“Of course I’ll be there to support Twilight. Do you know what this is about…if you don’t me asking that is?” Fluttershy said with a slight curiosity in her eyes.

“I do, but Twilight insisted she be the one to tell all of you cause it is pretty big news if I do say so myself.” Rainbow said looking at the ground in shame remembering what she had done to her best friend.

Author's Note: Sorry it took so long to get this chapter up. I had to deal with school work and family issues. On a brighter note, I fired my proof-reader because he was slow and incompetent. Sorry for recommending his story, I had no idea it would be that bad, so he cancelled it. I am hoping to have at least two more chapters up this weekend. If I don't I am terribly sorry and please give me criticism, with that, I can only get better. Now ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
