Case 1 part 2: The return home. (Edited.)
The tension surrounding the room was incredibly thick, it seemed that Spike's return was as much as he had anticipated. Dreadful.
"You are The Doctor of Death?" Twilight asked.
"That is correct Twilight." Spike muttered into his tea cup.
"So are you a mortician?" Rarity asked.
"I have a doctorate in Forensic Pathology."
"What is that if you don't mind me asking?" Fluttershy asked.
"Forensic pathology is a job of forensics. It is pathology that focuses on determining the cause of death by examining a corpse. The post mortem is performed by a medical examiner, usually during the investigation of criminal law cases and civil law cases in some jurisdictions." Twilight and Spike said in unison. Twilight blushed and Spike looked at her.
"You never change do you Twilight?" Spike looked at Twilight.
"When I heard of a murder in Ponyville I wanted to study up on motives and well the human body."
"You always were so astute Twilight." Spike sipped his tea while sitting in the library. "But it's not just as simple as you would have to believe."
"What it's like working with dead bodies?" Rainbow blurted out as it was on the minds of all the girls in the room.
"Well it's not so much a physically demanding job as yours or Applejack's but more emotionally and mentally draining." Spike replied.
"How so?" Rarity wondered.
"The bodies I study were once alive Rarity. Seeing them cold, and drained of life while I still continue to live is incredibly taxing on my mental well being."
"That is understandable." Rarity shifted nervously.
Spike looked over at the resident party planner. "Pinkie you haven't said anything may I ask why?"
"I'm still trying to figure out why you would choose a career so.....dark, it just doesn't seem like something that would be like you when you left." Pinkie said.
"I can see why that would confuse you Pinkie. So I'm going to tell you all why I chose to do this, when I was younger I looked up to you girls. You are national heroes that have saved the country more than once." The girls all blushed at that, even Rainbow and Applejack. "But while you girls were off having your own adventures I couldn't help but feel, lost in my own skin. Yeah sure you showed me that you weren't just Twilight's friends but my friends as well and I really appreciate that. But I simply felt that I couldn't just stay as Twilight assistant forever and I know that we didn't depart on the best of terms but hopefully I wished that you girls would eventually see things from my perspective and that I needed to be free. I needed something to call my own and my own accomplishments, I chose something so drastically different at the time to separate me from the shadows that you had cast with your heroic deeds." Spike finished drinking his cup of tea that Twilight had set out for him and the girls. "I'm sorry if my career disturbs any of you, it was at the time a very distinct way that I could separate from the shadows of The Elements of Harmony."
"I understand." Pinkie spoke up. "It may not be fun but it's the way that you get your own spotlight on the stage so to speak."
"Exactly. Now if you girls don't mind I have to get to work. Criminals must be brought to justice." Spike stood up and got his suit jacket.
"Do you mind if I come along with you Spike?" Twilight asked.
"As much as I would like to have your intellect alongside me in my investigation, that's something that you would have to ask someone else permission for. The local chief of police would be a good start or the mayor." Spike said while gathering his suitcases.
"Wait, I forgot to ask something." Rarity mentioned.
"Yes?"
"Do you have anywhere to stay at the moment?"
"Currently, no."
"Then you can stay here!" Twilight offered.
"Only temporarily." Spike said. "I would like to find a place of my own if you don't mind."
"It's not a problem at all."
"WAIT!!!" Pinkie shouted.
"I know what you're going to say Pinkie and I don't know how I would feel about a party all things considered." Spike said.
"I guess I understand." Pinkie said and the girls soon said their good-byes and left to get back to what they were previously doing before Spike had arrived. That left Spike and Twilight in the library alone with each other.
"Spike if you don't mind me saying. I'm proud of you." The librarian said to her adoptive little brother as she put away the tea set.
Spike remained silent as he was trying to decide what to say before Twilight said something that interrupted his train of thought.
"I know that it's hard to think of what could have been with all those victims but think about this. Their families are ensured that their loved one's life was not in vain and that the ones responsible are locked away, and it brings peace to the soul of the victims."
"Sometimes you are too smart for your own good." Spike said to her. "But we must hurry to the Mayor's office."
"What for?"
"Well you did say that you wanted to help me. The mayor is the one that could be the most helpful as long as the chief of police cooperates." Spike said while grabbing one of his suitcases.
"I thought I said that you could leave those here."
Spike stared at her for a minute and blinked, then he looked at his suitcase. "No this is the case for my tools."
"Oh well then I apologize." Twilight said.
"It's fine." Spike grabbed his black fedora off the coat rack. "We need to get going."
Twilight nodded. "Of course."

More comments please, they feed my train of thought. Also each case will have 4 or 5 parts to them perhaps 5 or 6. It's unknown at this point and my goal is to do at least 10 cases. When I reach that goal I may do more depending on how you guys like it or not.
Case 1 part 3: The return home.
Spike and Twilight were waiting in the mayor's office lobby and Spike was currently reading a magazine. Twilight however couldn't focus she seemed to have restless leg syndrome and she kept on shifting. It didn't take a genius to figure out that something was up. "Something the matter Twilight?"
"How could you tell?"
"The nervous twitching." Spike said.
"Oh." Twilight said. "I don't know it just feels so sudden, I just can't place my feelings. I'm happy that you're back but the way we departed I still hate what you said."
"To be honest, I feel the same way. But these things are superfluous to the task at hand right now." Spike said putting the magazine down.
"Why?" Twilight asked reluctantly.
"Like I said, I lived in the shadows of you girls and a lot of times. I was forgotten, it made me feel inadequate and that turned to hate. But right now I want to focus on the case right
now but we can't continue until you receive permission." Spike said.
"Okay." Twilight stopped fidgeting.
"Mr. Spike, Ms. Sparkle the mayor will see you now."
The pair got up and walked into the office Mayor Mare was surprised to see Spike. "Spike is that you? I haven't seen you in years!"
"Can we please skip the formalities right now. We're here on business." Spike spoke with a sharp chill in his voice.
"Of course what is it that you need?"
"It's not what I need but what Twilight needs." Spike said as he explained what he was doing here and why he was in her office and just exactly what type of work ethic he has.
The Mayor nodded. "Police Chief Cold Justice and I have always been on good terms so I highly doubt he would go against my good judgement. Consider your request granted, I'll have my secretary draw up some papers to make sure that the police don't get in the way and to make sure that they give you what you need."
"Thank you Mayor Mare." Twilight thanked her.
"Thank you for contacting Princess Celestia so that she could send in Spike here."
"I'm here on business not pleasure." Spike put as he left the office.
"What's gotten into him?" Mayor Mare asked Twilight.
"It's a very long story." Twilight answered. The duo left city hall and walked side by side. "So where do we start now?"
"At the crime scene." Spike said. "It may contain possible motive and evidence."
"The police have already swept the area for anything they could find." Twilight said.
"There's a reason why I've been so successful is because I could pick up on clues that others have missed. I'm not doubting the local police but it's always good to have a second pair of eyes to see what others have missed." Spike said. "Do you know if they have moved the body yet?"
"No, I'm not aware. The police only get in touch with me when they need to contact the princess." Twilight said as they went up to the crime scene with police surrounding it.
"Whoa buddy, no civilians get to see the scene of the crime." One of the officers that was doing crowd control said.
"I'm the Forensic Pathologist that your chief asked for, Dr. Spike Gilspotten." Spike said. "This is my temporary assistant Miss Twilight Sparkle, we have permission from the Mayor to be here so please stand aside."
"Could you please wait sir as I check with my superiors?"
"Not at all." Spike replied as the officer was replaced with another for crowd control.
The officer then returned. "My apologies sir and madam, come on in." She said as she lifted the 'do not cross' tape for the both of them.
"Thank you." Spike said as he ducked under the tape with Twilight following him. When he finally saw the scene he sighed as the body was relocated to the Coroner's. He turned to one of the police officers. "Excuse me, what is your name?"
"Sergeant Shield." The officer replied.
"Could you please get me a copy of all the photographical evidence of the scene of the crime when it was discovered by the police?"
"Sure thing Doctor." Sergeant Shield said as he went to go get it.
"What do you need those for?" Twilight asked.
"Generally what I said earlier but the body is not here to examine so I can't determine a lot from just this." Spike said as he received the copies of the photos from the sergeant and had begun to leave the scene with Twilight.
"You certainly know a lot about investigation for being in the Forensic field." Twilight said as she trailed along.
Spike straightened his tie and continued to walk along to the police station. "Now let's head into the police station and talk to Chief Justice." Spike said as they headed inside. Twilight walked along as Spike spoke to the the secretary in the front desk. "Excuse me I'm Dr. Spike Gilspotten, I'm the forensic pathologist that is here by the order of Mayor Mare and Princess Celestia. I'd like to speak to Police Chief Cold Justice."
The secretary made a phone call as Spike and Twilight stepped back. Twilight looked at Spike, "Why are you using your middle name for your last name?"
"Because if I drop the name Solaris then they will start bowing to me." Spike squinted his eyes in frustration as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"You could have used my last name." Twilight mumbled thinking that Spike didn't hear it.
"We were very angry with each other when I entered medical school; to simply put I was incredibly pissed off." Spike said as he waited in the lobby with Twilight.
“Are you still upset?” She was curious.
“I don’t know. One side of me is delighted to see you after all these years, with the way that we departed one another’s company it still hurts very much.” Spike was going to continue until he was cut off by the secretary.
“Chief Justice will see you now Mr.Gilspotten and Ms.Sparkle.”
“Thank you.” Twilight thanked her, Spike was too busy walking ahead to the office of the local Chief of Police for Ponyville. Twilight was the same as Spike, with her emotions at least.
She really couldn’t tell if she should be proud of Spike for being mature enough to come back or angry at the way they departed. “I don’t have time to be angry with him right now, I need to focus on the case.” Twilight jogged to catch up with Spike as he entered the office.
“Police Chief Justice I presume?” Spike asked as he entered.
“You must be Dr. Spike Gilspotten, I received word of your arrival and request from the Mayor’s office just a hour ago. If you two would please sit down so that we can discuss my concerns with what you two intend to do.”
“Certainly.” Spike said as he sat in a chair with Twilight joining him in the other chair.
“Thank you. Now, first and foremost is that my main concern is the confidentiality of the case especially you Ms. Sparkle.”
“Me, what is the concern with me?”
“Not only are you extremely close with the Princess, you are a national hero if the press got a hold that you were helping work on the case they would have a media frenzy. Discord was enough for Ponyville, I’m sure that you would understand.” Chief Justice explained.
“Ah yes, rest assured that I will keep tight lipped about this and will do my best to stay out of the newspapers and media as much as possible.” Twilight agreed.
“Alright, my next concern is about you Doctor.” The Chief said. “You conduct your investigation, a lot like a detective would, it’s nothing that I myself mind at all but I expect you to have a real detective with you when investigating.”
“No problem at all.” Spike agreed to the terms.
“I also had one of my officers draw up this confidentiality agreement so that nothing within any investigation that the two of you do is released to the public until said investigation is concluded.” He gave the two the papers which they both signed.
"Now that that's all out of the way, we will begin our investigation." Spike said.
Case 1 part 4: The return home.
The coroner's office was cold, as it must be to preserve the bodies of the ponies. Well it was just one body but that body was the most important. Twilight felt a chill run through her fur, it was the first time that she had ever seen a body; Spike however took off his suit jacket and put on a lab coat, then he hung up his hat on a rack and put on blue latex gloves over his claws.
“Twilight could you please hand me my suitcase?” Spike requested and Twilight used her magic to set it down on a tray next to him.
“Sorry if I’m apprehensive it’s just-”
Spike cut off Twilight, “There’s no need to explain, the first time I saw a cadaver it shocked me. I’m not going to pressure you if you are uncomfortable, though if you are going to help you’re going to need a closer look in order to reach logical conclusions.” Spike took a penlight out of his suitcase and opened the eye and looked at the gray eye of pony. “Hmm, no visible damage to the eyeball or the soft tissue around the eye which suggest that the suspect either attacked from behind or surprised the victim.”
Twilight stepped closer and closer looking over his shoulder. “What do you mean?”
“Occasionally the suspect will attack the eyes in attempt to keep the victim from seeing their faces.” A new voice added as a pony walked in. “Good afternoon Dr. Gilspotten. I’m Dr. Steady Cut. It’s a pleasure of mine to meet the Doctor of Death himself. May I ask who this is?” He motioned to Twilight.
“She is my current assistant, I’m used to having someone to assist me during my investigations.” Spike said. “We’ve already signed the disclosures from the Chief so she is allowed to go where I go. Have you determined the cause of death yet?”
“I have a suggestion, do you see the contusions and the impressions surrounding the neck. I have a feeling that the suspect tried to kill him by choking him, but finished him off using a weapon. I reason it was a chain or rope.”
“It’s too thin to be a chain so I would say a rope, because of you look closer there is smaller impressions within the markings.” Spike observed. “Was there any signs of a struggle?”
“Yes, but there was nothing conclusive. There are impressions and contusions on the back suggesting that the suspect killed him from behind.”
“Spike?” Twilight asked.
“Yes Twilight?”
“I think I’ve got a lead.” She said.
“How so?”
“Well around two weeks ago Applejack was complaining that her rodeo rope was missing. Do you think that the pony that stole it could have killed the victim with the same rope?”
“It’s possible, do you know where Applejack was when the victim was killed?”
“We were having a slumber party at the library we were there for the whole weekend.” Twilight said.
“Excuse me, do you mind if I ask that we get back to the victim?” Dr. Cut asked.
“Of course, is there anything else notable about the victim?”
“The angle of the contusions suggest that the suspect was taller than the victim and the suspect seems to be much stronger. I’d assume an earth pony, or a pony that at least knows how to defend themselves.” Dr. Cut said.
“Thank you Dr. Cut. I trust that you have already processed the body?”
“To my fullest extent.” He nodded. “I’m also to inform you that you are to meet with Detective Nightstalker after your examination of the body.”
Spike took off his gloves and the lab coat, and put his other things back on. “Do you mind if I keep my tools in here Dr. Cut?”
“It’d be my honor, I have a place to put them if you don’t mind?”
“Not at all.” Spike said while taking his hat off the rack. “Come along Twilight.”
Twilight followed Spike and thought to herself. “Hey Spike?”
“Yes?” Spike didn’t turn to face her.
“For what it’s worth, I’m sorry.” When she finished saying that Spike paused in his stride.
“Twilight, can we please discuss this later. I don’t mean to be rude but when I’m on a case I can’t get my personal feelings mixed up with this, it keeps me from thinking clearly.”
Twilight acknowledged his mindset and nodded. “That’s fine, as long as we don’t put it off. I really do want to discuss what happened between us when you left.”
“Sure thing.” Spike sighed. “May we continue now?”
“Lead the way doctor.” Twilight suggested.
Spike started to continue his stride. The pair walked up to the desk of Detective Misty Nightstalker. “Detective Nightstalker?”
The purple maned thestral looked up at the Doctor and Librarian with her teal eyes. “You must be Dr. Gilspotten and Ms. Sparkle.” She stood up and reached out her hand. “Pleasure to meet you both.”
Spike shook her hand as well as Twilight. “I must admit I’ve never seen a bat-pony in Ponyville before. My apologies if I offended you.” Spike said as he sat down in front of her desk.
“I take no offense to that at all, bat-pony just helps the others to differentiate between. I do know that some of us prefer to be called thestrals but I take no offense to either term. Now onto the business at hand, I know that the Chief has already had you sign the disclosures and all that stuff but I have a few personal rules if you don’t mind.”
“Please proceed.” Twilight said.
“First thing I ask is that you don’t undermine me; as in don’t go against any standard procedure during the investigation. The second thing is that, I’m not strictly by the book, you can ask your own questions and reach your own conclusions and when off duty I like to be referred to as Misty.” She said. “The last thing is that if I tell you to stay put, please PLEASE follow my orders. I’ve had a lot of partners injured and almost killed because they didn’t listen to me, I’ve been a police officer for 10 years and a detective for five of those years.”
“Of course Detective you are in charge, though if I have a concern I will bring it straight to you.” Spike nodded.
“Here’s a copy of the case file. I trust you to not disclose any information within. But I want you to swear to me.”
“We swear to not disclose any sensitive information.” Twilight said as she took the case file, Spike nodded and they both got up.
“We will return to the library and start our investigation. If we need to question anyone we will contact you.” Spike concluded.
“That’s fine, I’m glad to have you two on board; especially you doctor.” Misty said.
The pair got up and were escorted out of the precinct by the detective, and then they walked to the library. “Where do you want to put the evidence?” Twilight inquired
“The library basement, which means that we have to move all the books in the library system out of the basement.” Spike walked alongside Twilight.
“I might need your help.”
“I will be glad to lend a hand.” Spike said when they reached the library. Twilight opened the door to see the other Element bearers within.
“Hi Spike!” Pinkie said.
“Hello Pinkie. May I ask what you girls are doing here?”
“Twilight left a note and a key asking us to take care of the library today.” Rarity answered. “We had no prior engagements so we accepted.”
“Twilight the files please?” Spike asked and Twilight handed it over.
“Is that-” Pinkie started.
“It’s confidential Pinkie, only Twilight and I are allowed to view these files.” Spike cut her off.
“Okay.” Pinkie sighed.
Spike walked down to the basement with the others in tow. Twilight looked around and grimaced. “I admit, I could use your girls help with the basement.”
Spike set aside some filing cabinets and put the files in them then locked the cabinet with keys that Twilight levitated over to him. “Alright girls let’s get started.” Applejack clapped her hands together. The girls all helped clean out the basement and get everything organized.
Time passed and soon the basement was much cleaner that it was when it started, and Spike looked around the girls soon left except for Twilight who just stood there. “Spike. I wanted to apologize.”
“What for?”
“Everything. I mistreated you as a friend, I’m not going to cry over it but I did have Celestia’s assistance and she helped me see how you felt. Or at least gave me a perspective of how you might have felt.”
Spike took a deep breath. “I admit that I did feel used, going day after day not being acknowledged for my accomplishments. It really hurt Twilight, and I still feel a little pain from that but I’ve mostly moved on.”
“How have your cooking skills been?” Twilight asked. “I really missed your cooking Spike.”
“I didn’t come back to be your personal chef.” Spike smirked. “Though I don’t mind for old times sake.” Spike walked back up the stairs and Twilight followed after him shutting off the lights. Spike cooked supper and his cooking skills were sharp as his intellect. Sitting down at opposite ends of the table poking at their meals and carried on a conversation about how they struggled when they had decided to go their separate ways. "How well did that go?" Spike asked.
"As well as a cart crash." Twilight admitted and she decided to start telling Spike all about what had happened.

Case 1 part 1: The return home. (Edited.)
In Ponyville.
Twilight Sparkle was horrified, being the student of the princess she was informed when she was needed to relay information to the princess. There was a murder in Ponyville, and she couldn't imagine it. But she had done what the local police force had asked her to do and she had gotten a letter from the princess. So far the police force had nothing and they needed help. So the princess sent out for an expert.
~*****~
Spike was a Forensic Pathologist as he worked with the Manehattan mortuary and Police force with his assistant and intern Quick Suture or Sue for short.
"Sue,” Spike began, “could you please hand me the artery scissors?"
The mare picked the scissors up from the metal plater and placed them in the awaiting claw of the drake. He nodded his head and started to cut, while Sue barely managed to look over his shoulder.
"So…” Sue started, eyes watching the body being split open, “what's next for the great Doctor of Death?"
"Retirement, hopefully.” A small spray of blood landed upon his cheek, which Sue was quick to wipe away with a cloth; she meeped when he looked over to her. "After I'm done training you for this position."
"C'mon Doc, you can't be serious.” She tossed the cloth into the yellow bin. “You’ve solved far too many cases to stop now!”
"I helped solve those cases; without the police force, such conclusions could never be made.” He went back to looking at the body. “Please hand me the Groove Director and Drain tubes?"
Sue went quiet as she fetched him the tools.
The overhanging silence and the tearing of fur were starting to get on Sue nerves. Spike had his mind focused and didn’t seem to care. But Sue needed to talk about something; to have a flow of conversation to dull out her hand that couldn’t stay still.
"Say,” she began with a sallow, “where does the nickname Dr. Death come from?"
"I helped solved a fifty-year old cold case for my Doctorate in forensic pathology – the community made me a local hero because of it. The nickname Dr. Death was assigned to me as some sort of joke, and since then, it just kinda stuck.” Spike finished removing the blood from the veins. “Don’t ask me why.”
"Wow,” Sue said at a loss of breath, “your family must have been proud."
"Who knows?”
Sue’s mouth hung open as she didn’t dare a word on that topic. He had said it light enough, but his eyes narrowed at the mention of his family back at Ponyville.
“I’m sure they have many things to be proud of themselves of, back at home.” He pulled back from the table with his tools, and deposited them into the running sink. “Anyway, off topic. Can I trust that you’ll finish up here?”
"Yeah, go take your lunch." Suture sat down before the body, before turning to face Spike. "But before you go, may I ask something?"
"Sure."
"Why is it that you’re so good with these cases?"
Spike sighed as he rested a claw on the door frame. “Guess I’m just weird in a way.” He turned to look at her, eyes almost closed along with a small smirk. “Promise not to laugh?”
Sue dipped her head forward.
Another breath. “I can’t say for sure, but it’s almost like I can hear the faint voices of the bodies. Telling me of their families, their friends, lovers, exs’, and most importantly… their secrets. I’ve always been one to see and hear what others cannot, and that’s why I’m able to save more cases.
Sue’s mouth hung open as her eyes drifted downwards.
“Don’t be discouraged. It’s not really my skills that get the case done… just this weird ability. Something, no doubt, that you’ll be able to outdo in due time.” And with that, Spike took off his gloves, washed his claws in the sink next to him, and ascended the stairs leading out of his office.
The break room was the floor above. Ponies sat on chairs before the table, and talked over their cups of coffee.
“The Doctor… he’s alive!” An officer mocked with his hooves to the air.
“Alive and hungry,” Spike replied, retrieving his lunch from the fridge.
The officer chuckled as he brought his limbs down, and his lips onto his cup. “I just don’t get why you don’t keep your food down in the body farm.”
"It's unsanitary." Spike stated. "Besides, eating food around victims doesn't feel right to me."
“Ah, make sense.”
Spike sat at the table and began the work of eating his food. Seeing a dragon devour meat usually had ponies throwing up and running in the opposite directions – but everyone here knew Spike enough as to not judge him by what he was.
Plus, they had seen too many corpses to care anymore.
Lieutenant Wing sat at the end of the table, his hands pressed together as he eyed them all. “How much longer do we have you for, Spike?”
“Not much.”
“And that extra benefits for staying wasn’t enough to tempt you for another year longer?”
“Unfortunately not. The offer was generous, but I don’t think bits can make up for the mental capacity I’m starting to lack.”
“What,” the officer began, “don’t tell me that the work is now getting to you?”
“Hate to say that it is.” He drew a breath. “Its at a point now where I’m seeing the life of the body in my dreams, then forced to operate on the very same creature when I awaken. I… I sometimes have to myself from cutting, because I think I could hear their screams.”
“Aye,” Lieutenant Wing took off his green cap, “I understand then if that’s the case. Doesn’t make matters any easier when you have to then tell their love ones that they are no longer among the remaining."
“Makes it harder when you don’t know why either.”
Spike finished his meal without a word, and returned to his home in silence.
A letter was in his mail box.
Spike quirked a brow as he took the letter and sat down on his porch. Setting his boots next to him, he began to read the letter.
Dear Spike,
I know that you wanted to limit our contact, but I wouldn't have done this if it didn't require your assistance. I’ve read of the numerous cases that you have helped solved all over Equestria, and deem that you are the only I can rely on for this matter.
There was a murder in Ponyville.
And more are occurring.
I cannot leave my position in Canterlot to investigate the matter. So I must rely on you to ensure the safety of Ponyville. I know you and the Elements didn’t depart on good terms, but please: return to Ponyville and catch the criminals that ended those innocents lives, and bring them to justice.
With much love, Your Mother Celestia.
“Ah… crap.” Spike said as he sat down in his chair and turned on the lamp and he thought to himself. He had stayed up all night tossing and turning but he had not gotten any sleep. Was it worth it to take the trip to Ponyville just to bring killers to justice? Was it worth the pain of seeing a girl that he once loved? "My pain is nothing compared to those that have lost ones that they love."

Clouds of black plagued the sky overhanging the train station, allowing only the faintest glance at the moon through their form. Such the sight that Twilight was trying to acquire, before the clouds became to thick to see through. Twilight looked amongst her friends occupying her on the platform. “I’ve never seen Ponyville get dark like this before…”
“Tell me about it!” Rainbow exclaimed, turning to face Twilight. “If this… Dr. Death, was it? Okay, first of all, who names themselves Dr. Death?” She sighed. “Anyway, if this guy doesn’t get here soon, I don’t think we’ll even be able to see the way back home.”
"Like the princess said, it's a moniker," Twilight informed the dressmaker.
"Ah don' know." Applejack admitted. "But if he solves the murder of High String then by all means let him come."
"I just hope he isn't a weirdo," Pinkie said.
The four looked to Pinkie with raised brows.
"I wonder if he likes animals," Fluttershy thought out loud.
The train pulled into the train station. Stream arose from the train and clouded the station, where a figure covered by the stream stepped onto the platform. He wore a fedora and a three-piece suit with emerald hair parting between his eyes.
"Spike?" Twilight said as the figure stepped out from the stream. "Wha… what are you doing here?"
"Hello, girls,” he said as he dropped the suitcases.
A few tears began to stream from the eyes of his once-friends, which caused Spike to look away at the sight of.
"What are you doing back here, Spike?" Twilight asked as she stepped towards the drake.
"Well... I am the one that Princess Celestia asked for."
