Ace Combat Sky Wanderers

The base commander, Brigadier General Richard Cowens, calls for the air base to use defense systems instead of risking of sending a plane out. The base`s XO, Lieutenant Colonel Akari Shani, disagrees with the idea of not having a plane launched from the air base, while using only air defences.

"Sir," Shani complains, "We need to send our jets up in the skies! We`re also dealing with enemy ace pilots out there, such as the Schnitter of Erusean Air Force!"

"Im aware of it!" The base commander complies, "But however, its better to at least hold out much longer we can, until reinforcements arrives!"

As they`re about to argue, the door opens. They look up, and see the staff member with Nicholas. The base commander looks at the base staff.

"Who`s this kid?" He asked him, as the staffer responds, "This kid wants to talk to you!, sir! His name is Nicholas Ivanson, and he believed to have a father served in the Usean Continental War with ISAF."

The base commanders looks at Nicholas with shocked expression. Shani asks Nicholas, "Son, is it true? Your dad fought with ISAF years back?"

"Yes!" Nicholas acknowledges, "My dad has been with ISAF and died from fighting with the Eruseans. And my friend, Aaron O`Matty, had a father served in the Belkan War."

The base commanders were shocked by his statements, but Brigadier General Cowens looks at him and said, "Listen, kid! I know your dad, and I have no time for this history lesson! We`re at war here!"

Nicholas then retorted, "I know, but why are you not going to send any fighters up there?"

"Because we have our orders!" Cowens urges, "We dont have anymore pilots at this time! The two pilots of ASF-X Shinden IIs were downtown of Canterlot, however. And theyre considered KIA. So we don`t have anymore pilots here!"

Nicholas, understanding the situation clearly, realizes that the jets he saw couple days ago, we're still around the base. Nicholas, had determination to protect those he cares, now wants to contribute to help.

"Me and Aaron`ll help!" Nicholas calls out, as they looks at him. "I seen controls of fighters and looks of planes before! Same goes to Aaron! We can be your replacement pilots for now!"

Cowens looks at him, and said, "No, kid! It`s too dangerous!"

Nicholas then responds, "Its still risky of not having anymore of your jets up there, if we dont do something. And the whole base will be toasted!"

"I SAID NO!!" Cowens yells, "I understand your concerns! However, we got advanced surface to air missiles thatll take the targets down, even if they tried to avoid them! How do you expect to help out there?! You and your friends are just kids, and you guys don`t know what it takes to be a pilots!"

That hit the nerve right there, as Nicholas balls up a fist. He's still determined to fight to protect, no matter the cause is.

But suddenly, the radar watcher calls, "Radar picked up something on from distance, General!"

"What are they, Serge?!" Cowens asks him, as he responded, "Radars picking up twelve bombers heading towards our base and Canterlot itself! Nine TU-95s and three B-2s! Also, theres seven Mig-35!"

The Base commander then commands, "We need to try to hold out until reinforcements arrived!"

"Well, you know what?!" Nicholas argues, "If you think so, it`ll be nothing to do if this base here is bombed and trashed, right?! I will not let it happen!"

Base commander was about to yell down at him, but Nicholas stated, "I'm welling to protect those I care about, and Im welling to not let anyone, or anypony, die! If me and Aaron go out and fight or die trying, so be it! Well even try to hold them off if we can! Please, sir! Give us a shot!"

Base commander understood his statement. However, he then yells, "Get him out!"

As Nicholas walks out with the staffer, Nicholas thought his words are useless. But however, after they left the radar or command post, the staffer then whispers, "Get your friend, Nick!"

Nicholas asks him, "Why?!" The staff member then responds with a smile, "I`m going to get you two up there, and show those bastards what you two are made of!"

"What?! I thought you would disagree with what I said!" Nicholas said to him, and the staffer said, "I saw you with your dad before when you're just a baby. And I could tell that despite of your disability, you could remember the controls automatically and when you came here two weeks ago, you looked at the cockpit and studied it for about a minute! Same goes to your friend too! So, I think you got a shot to take on the net pilots up them, as far as I believe. And I believe you and your friend can make a difference up the skies!"

Nicholas smiles, as he understood that he agreed what he stated to the base commander, and sighs, "Alright! Let`s do this!"

The staff smiles and grabs his radio and calls, "Any plane mechanics there?"

The other caller on the radio responds, "Yes sir! What is it you need?"

The staff member complies, "I want you to get the two ASF-X Shinden IIs fueled and ready to fight! We have two replacement pilots that wants to take to the air!"

Meanwhile at the base hall, everypony were talking, concerned about what`s going on and Lendo had declared war against Equestria, alongside with Belka, Erusea, and other countries that are fighting against allied forces.

Aaron looks up, and sees the Princesses Celestia and Luna walking in the room. Princess Twilight Sparkle was among them, as she sees her parents and her friends, hugging them with concern but relief look. He then turns to see Cadence and Shining Armor walks in, and Flurry Heart`s with them.

Flurry turns to Aaron and runs up to him. "Aaron!" She cries, as she jumps up and hugs him. She let out a sob and said, "I dont...I dont know what`s happening!"

Aaron blushes, but later takes confidence and rubs her mane. "Its okay, Princess!" He said to her, "Everyone of your friends and loved ones are here! Dont worry, I`m here with you, your majesty!"

Flurry calms down, and looks up to him, smiling. Her eyes were streaming tears, and Aaron wipes them away.

"You know, Princess." Aaron sighs calmly, ignoring his anxiety. "You look beautiful with tears coming out your eyes. And I...Umm. And I think you do have beautiful eyes, Princess."

"Awww! thank you, Aaron!" Daughter of Cadence complies, as she kissed him on his right cheek, and her wings spread open. Causing Aaron to let a faint yelp.

Flurry giggles of his response of her kiss. "You just made small yelp, did you?"

"W-well, sorta." Aaron nods, as he looks at Flurry giving him a warm smile. Aaron then had a thought that now he wants to admit his feelings to the daughter Princess of Love.

He took a deep calmly breath and ignores his anxiety, and said to her, "Flurry Heart. I...I have a confession to tell you."

Flurry Heart smiles and looks at him square in the eye. She said, "Go ahead! I`m listening."

Aaron then said, "Ever since we first met, since when me and Nicholas moved her, I had some type of feelings for you, romantically. And I...I truly adore your royal good looks, and your ability of save the Crystal Empire from King Sombra and all you do. But, what I truly adore the most part of you is...Is your beauty. And I do admit to myself that youre far more beautiful than Rarity, and you care for those around you, specially your friends and family, as well those around you. Thats what I think of you." Aaron took a deep breath, then confesses, "Princess Flurry Heart. You're the most beautiful mare of all Equestria, and I always say that 'you`re beautiful' and all. That's why I want you to be happy. And I-"

As he was about to say something else, Nicholas with the base staff member runs up to him and told him, "Come on, Aaron! We got to get ready!"

"Ready for what?" Aaron asks him, but the staff member complies, "No time to explain! We have to go, follow me, boys!"

Aaron looks back at Flurry and said, "Well talk about this later! Ill be back."

Aaron took off with Nicholas and the base member, leaving Flurry with a smile on her face. But, as he turns away and walks with his brother with the base member, Cadences daughter tells her parents and Aunt Twilight that shes gonna use a restroom, but follows Aaron instead, feeling concerned of what`s going on.

As they followed the base staff to the pilots locker room, Aaron looks at Nicholas and asked him, "Nick, what`re we doing here?"

Nicholas turns to him and said, "We`re going to fight the enemy forces up in the skies!"

"What?!" Aaron shunned. "Why us?!"

The staff member then said, "The base commander said that they`re not going to send any planes up there, and we lost two of our pilots at Canterlot during a surprise attack! So Nicholas is volunteers to pilot, and so are you going with him. And besides, I called the mechanics to get your planes fueled and armed. So you guys are now the pilots!"

Understanding of whats going on, Aaron then said to his friend, "Nick, Im not sure about-"

"Theres no time to explain!" Nicholas cuts him off and said, "If we dont fight, everyone around us are gonna be killed, despite were sheltering in the base! And enemy forces are sending bomyers to bomb this base if we dont stop them!"

Aaron thought about Princess Flurry Heart, concerned of her safety and her friends as well. Aaron knows that it`s his chance to protect his loved ones this time, as he vows to do something like a hero does for those around them.

Aaron then complies, "Alright! I`m in with you, Nick!" Nicholas smiles, and pats him on the shoulder.

The door opens after being unlocked, and the staff said, "Okay, boys! Hurry up and get dress into the pilot suits! I`ll meet you two outside!"

"Yes sir!" The boys nods in salute, as they rush in the locker room to get dress up for some action.

The boys opened their chosen lockers, they seen pilot flight suits and helmets. They put on the flight suits while keeping their gym shorts and shirts on. It took minutes for them to get suit up for aerial combat over Canterlot.

After they got dressed, Nicholas then told Aaron, "Okay, Aaron! This our moment to protect those around us! Whatever you have in your mind: whatever scares you or make you doubt, dont hesitate! Just keep your cool and youll be fine, buddy!"

"Okay, Nick!" Aaron nods his head, feeling determined to protect the ones he cared about alongside his step-brother.

Aaron closes the locker door, and see Princess Flurry Heart standing there, startling Aaron. "Aaron? Nick? Whatre you guys doing?!" She asks them with concern, and Nicholas answers, "Were fighting the enemy above Canterlot, and we`re going to defend this base as well!"

"What?!" Flurry shocked. "It`s dangerous out there! You two are gonna get hurt or worst!"

Aaron then added, "Its a long story, Flurry. Nicholas is determined to protect you guys, as well as me. Im not going to let anything happen to you, your friends, you family, and loved ones. So, I don`t want any harm come to you, Princess!"

"Aaron, Ill let you two talk for a bit, and I want you out as soon as possible, got me?" Nicholas said to his step-brother, as he complies with a nod from his head. Nicholas walks out, leaving Aaron with Flurry Heart to talk of whats going on.

Aaron then said, "Flurry." He begins. "I not only want you to feel sad, but I also don`t want you or your loved ones to die in vain. And I will do anything to not let anything happen to you or your loved ones. Or you! Me and Nick will be fine, cause Nick knows planes as I do. So I think we can do this."

Understanding this, Flurry started to walled up in tears, not only she`s touched by his acts of kindness, but now his shown of bravery to protect her and those around her, makes her realize that Aaron considers her and her loved ones important to him.

She leaps up to him and hugs him around his neck, and cries. "Oh, Aaron!" She sobbed, she felt Aarons arms wrap around her. Aaron then sighs, "Flurry Heart, I promise that Ill protect you, and your friends and your loved ones. I promise I will."

Flurry looks up to him with tears streaming down her face, and said, "Aaron, those things you said to me, thank you! And thank you for everything to be kind to me! You`re truly are a kind and caring person!"

"Anytime, Princess! And thank you, for being in my life. I hope you do feel happy of what I said to you and all the things I do for you and those around us." Aaron smiles, placing his on hand on her cheek to wipe a tear away. He then said to her, "I`ll be back." And was about to leave.

But Princess Flurry Heart grabs him by his arm and gets his attention. She sobs with her face blushes, "Aaron, I...I..." Knowing the she doesn't have time to confess something she had in her head, she leaps up and plants a kiss onto his lips. Her alicorn wings opens up.

Aaron was shocked by her kissing him, started to make him think that she`s admitting her feelings for him. He accepted the kiss, as his eyelids slowly close his eyes. He places his one hand on her right cheek, while hugging the Princess. As they parted, Flurry Heart looks up to him and finally said to him, "...I love you!"

Aaron then smiles and calmly replies, "I love you too, Princess!" Flurry Heart smiles and pecks him on the lips, and keep her arms around his neck.

They look at eachother, and Flurrys horn lites up, and a magic aurora encircles one of her necklace, and floats off of Flurrys neck and onto Aaron`s. Aaron looks onto the necklace and was about to say something, but the Flurry Heart places her finger on his lips.

"I want you to take it, Aaron!" She said to him. "And promise me this: No matter how or what happens, please be safe up there, and come back in one piece!"

Aaron then nods his head and said, "I will! I won't let you down! Or your loved ones too! I promise." Aaron took off running to get ready to fly, leaving Flurry Heart standing there, smiling.

"Go get 'em, my beloved!" She sighs, "As I believe you`ll succeed, my beloved!"

Nicholas arrives at the hanger next to the building Nicholas and Aaron were getting their flight suits on. The mechanic met with the staff, who helped guided Nicholas to get ready to take to the skies in a aerial battle against the attacking forces, and talks.

"Seriously, sir." The mechanic said to him, "I dont know about this. But hope these kids know what theyre doing."

"Trust me," The staff member said to the mechanic. "I know Nicholas` dad long ago, and Nicholas never loses his touch of the knowledge on fighter jets! I believe he and his step-brother can make a difference out there!"

The mechanic looks at him, and said, "Okay! Then, let`s see what those two kids got!"

The base staff nods, and turns to see Nicholas is ready. Aaron arrived as they got approval. The mechanic then shouts, "Alright! Nicholas Ivanson and Aaron OMatty, you two a cleared for launch! Lets get movin!"

"Yes sir!" They saluted to them, as they mount onto their ASF-X Shinden IIs. As Nicholas about to mount on his selected jet, he turns and said to the base staff, "Thank you for your help, Mister!"

"Just call me First Sergeant Myatt, son!" He said to him, as he said, "Make your daddy proud, Nick!"

Nicholas nods his head, as he climbs into the Shinden IIs` cockpit. He looks around and memorizes to start the jet. He looks to the other Shinden next to him, where Aaron was getting ready to take off as well.

Back at the air base`s control room, the radio communicator got a word that the two Shinden IIs are getting ready to take off.

He turns to Brigadier General Cowens and said, "Sir! We got word that two of our ASF-X Shinden IIs are taxiing the runway!"

Cowen urges, "What?! Who`s taking off in our jets?"

"I think it`s the two boys, sir!" The communicator stated, as Cowens begins to realize that it was Nicholas and his step-brother, Aaron.

He then grabs a radio and calls to Nicholas, "Mr. Ivanson! What the hell are you and your step-brother doing?"

Nicholas replies, "We`re going to deal with those S.O.Bs from destroying anything around them!"

"NO YOURE NOT, NICHOLAS! IM ORDERED YOU TO STAND DOWN AND GET TO SHELTER, NOW!" The base commander yells angerly, only to see Nicholas refused to sit back.

Nicholas responds, "NO! LISTENING HERE, GENERAL! IM NOT GOING TO WATCH ANY INNOCENT ANTHRO-PONIES, OR ANYBODY ELSE, DIES! IF YOU AT LEAVE GIVE US A CHANCE, WE WILL NOT BROTHER YOU! AND IF YOU DONT, YOU GUYS ARE SCREWED COMPLETELY! I HAVE A REASON TO PRO TCT THOSE THAT I CARE ABOUT, AND I WANT TO SHOW YOU GUYS WHAT ME AND MY STEP-BROTHER CAN DO! PLEASE!"

The base commander admits in his mind that he`s right, realizing that would be useless of not having anymore pilots up there, would mean the destruction of the base.

He took a sigh, and complies, "Alright, son! You and your step-brother are hear-by be our replacement pilots, for now! You have one shot at this, you two! Don`t waste it!"

"Roger!" The kids replies, as theyre about to taxi on the runway to launch. The base commander added, "And Becareful out there, theres an enemy ace up in the skies, known as Schnitter! He`s a tough opponent!"

"Dont worry, sir!" Aaron replies, "Im gonna try to handle him, cause unlike Nick my step-bro, I can tell any pilotssenses and I can read them like a book. Even when theyre able to react on different ways!"

"Okay, son!" Cowens complies, "This is your test to show us what you got! Don`t screw this up!"

"Copy!" Aaron replies.

The boys in their jets got on the runway. The boys in their planes checked everything; fuel, ammunition, armor/health, IFF system, radio and radar systems. As they got everything checked, Nicholas calls out, "This is Nicholas Ivanson! Everything`s all set, ready to head out!" He then increase the thrust of his fighter jet, and took off on the runway.

After his planes airborne, Nicholas pressed the switch to bring his planes landing gears close. "I`m airborne!" Nicholas calls out.

Aaron takes his time, and seen everything`s all set for him. "Launch preparations are complete!" He calls out, as he slowly closes his eyes, and focus his thought of Princess Flurry Heart, and her loved ones. He kept his promise to protect her, and those around them.

'Alright, Aaron!' He thought. 'You promise to Flurry that youll be protecting her, and shes making you to promise to come back safely! You're also determined to protect those around you, like Nicholas wanting to do the same as well! Don`t waste it!'

Fifteen seconds of thinking while his eyes shut, his hands grips onto the controls of his plane. He opens his eyes and calls out, "This is Aaron OMatty, lets go!"

Aaron puts thrust in full power, his plane started to move, gaining speed. As his plane got enough speed, Aaron pulls onto the stick up, and his jet climbs up to the skies. He felt that he almost passed out, but he kept his focus, and pushed the switch to close his plane`s landing gears.

Watching the boys taking to the skies, Princess Flurry Heart stood out in front of the hanger, smiling for Aaron and Nicholas.

"I`m airborne!" Aaron calls out, as the base commander calls to him and Nicholas, "Alright, kids! Good luck out there! We pray for your success up in the skies!"

"Roger!" Both the boys replies, as Nicholas calls to the base commander and said, "Just in case any enemy aircrafts flies overhead, keep your defense system active!"

"Roger that, son!" Cowens acknowledges, and turns to Aaron and said, "Aaron, get on my right wing!"

"Okay!" Aaron complies, as he already got on his step-brothers right side. As Aaron got on his side, Nicholas calls to Aaron, "So, howre you and Princess Flurry Heart?"

"Doing good," Aaron replied, "Just had a short conversation and all."

"And did you two kissed?" Nicholas asked jokingly, as Aaron blushes and shrugs, "Shut your tail hole!" Nicholas laughes, and Aaron shook his head and thought, 'You asshole!'
