Here is the next chapter of Poke Eques. I hope you all enjoy this chapter. I'm now going to take a small break from this story for a while to write new The Fabled Warrior chapters. So you can see some new chapters for that story soon. As always: comment, like, follow, share and tell.

Chapter 14-Recovery

Recovery

"Hey, Jake."

"Come on Jake, time to wake up."

"Wake up, Jake."

Jake slowly opened his eyes but closed them as a bright light hit them. He squinted his eyes open to have them adjust to the light. When they fitted to the light, Jake fully opened his eyes. He saw that he was in a peaceful meadow. Jake looked around to see it was just a vast field of flowers. He slowly got up and looked around and then turned to see a table. What the? He started to walk towards the table.

He saw a table set for two people. Each side of the table had a tea cup and in the middle was a teapot. Also, cream and sugar containers sat next to the teapot. Jake just raised his eyebrow and looked around. Well, this is strange. He looked back at the table and saw that a place card was sitting on the seat in front of him. He picked it up and saw his name on it. Ok now, I'm freaked out.

"Glad to see your up."

Jake looked back to see a pony behind him. He jumped back as the pony cocked his head to the side.

"Didn't mean to startle you. Sorry about that friend." Said the pony

Jake now looked over the pony to see that it was a stallion with both wings and a horn. So Jake new this stallion was an alicorn. The stallion's coat was as white as the pure snow. His mane was a vibrant red color. His eyes happened to sea green. I don't know why, but that stallion feels like I'm looking in a mirror. The stallion went around and sat down on the other seat.

"Take a seat, Jake." He said

Jake pulled out the seat as the alicorn stallion used his magic, which was a gold aura, to pour tea into both cups.

"Would you like any cream or sugar?" Asked the stallion

"Just two sugar cubes." Said Jake

The stallion used his magic to place two sugar cubes in his tea.

"Um, who are you?" Asked Jake

"Oh right, I guess I never introduced myself. Stupid me, I'm new at this. First off I'm your guardian angel, so you can just call me Angel."

"Guardian angel." Said Jake

"That's right." Said Angel

"My guardian angel is a stallion, who strangely looks like me in stallion form." Said Jake

"I can't explain that one, I guess our creator wanted you to feel comfortable since you aren't a pony yourself." Said Angel

"I'll say, so um. If I'm talking to my guardian angel, does that mean I'm dead, and this place is the place between heaven and hell or whatever you ponies call those places." Said Jake

"Well heaven to us it the golden pastures and Tartarus is our hell. But no, you're not dead." Said Angel

"Thank goodness, but where then where am I?" Asked Jake

"Oh your mind, you yes you're in a coma right now." Said Angel

"Coma!" Said Jake

"Yeah, you got a nasty concussion when you took that attack in Griffonstone." Said Angel

"But where am I now." Said Jake

"I don't know." Said Angel

"What do you mean you don't know?" Asked Jake

"All I can tell you is that you're in a coma. I can't say how long you've been in here or where you are in the outside world. Sorry, friend." Said Angel

"Great, I have no idea what's going in the outside world. Oh, I hope everything is ok. Tell me how does time work here." Said Jake

"You probably won't like this either. You see time here moves extremely slow and so forth what might feel like a minute to you and me could be a day on the outside." Said Angel

"That's even better." Said Jake

"Hey calm down friend, that's why I'm here. Your guardian angel is here to get you out." Said Angel

"How are you going to do that?" Asked Jake

"Easy, I just can." Said Angel

"That makes no sense at all." Said Jake

"Hey just trying to lighten the mood here, friend." Said Angel

"I guess you are." Said Jake

"Hey don't get down friend, I swear to you, I know how to get you out." Said Angel

"Thanks, so when do we embark." Said Jake

"After you finish your tea." Said Angel

"Why?" Asked Jake

"Well, we can't have you getting thirsty on our journey. We have a long walk ahead of us to get to the exit." Said Angel

"How long?" Asked Jake

"As long as you make it." Said Angel

Jake looked at the tea.

"This won't have any effect on me in the outside world." Said Jake

"Nope, it's called mind tea, it will help you make the travel of your mind." Said Angel

Jake looked back down at it and began to sip the tea. Hm, not bad. Jake continued to drink until all his tea was gone and he placed the empty cup on the plate.

"Now, let's get walking." Said Angel

Jake and Angel got up and began to walk across the meadow of flowers. Soon they both reached a door.

"What's with the door?" Asked Jake

"It's the door to your mind. Now shall you open it." Said Angel

Jake walked up and grabbed the knob and turned it. He pushed it open and entered a dark room. He walked in, and the door closed behind him. Jake turned around to see nothing but black. When he turned back, there were three doors in front of him. Angel came walking up next to him.

"Now you pick a door." Said Angel

"Why do I have to go through all of this to get out of my coma?" Asked Jake

"Wish I could tell you Jake, but I can't." Said Angel

"Why?" Asked Jake

"Because I have no idea." Said Angel

"What!?" Screamed Jake

"Like I said, I'm new to this thing." Said Angel

Jake huffed as he approached the three doors. He stepped up to the first door. Jake grabbed the knob and turned it. He pushed it open, and suddenly he was falling out of the sky.

"Man, this is fun." Said Angel

Jake looked to see Angel lounging in the air as he fell with Jake.

"How can you be so calm?" Asked Jake

"Easy, this is your mind." Said Angel

Jake raised his eyebrow before remembering this was his mind. He wished for him to be standing on the ground. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was on a hill with a single tree over hanging over him. Angel was leaning against the tree.

"Try to remember that this is your mind and you can do anything in your mind." Said Angel

"Yeah, but I still don't understand how this is all connected to a coma." Said Jake

"I don't know either, the creator told me to guide you through three different doors, and that was it." Said Angel

"That's real helpful." Said Jake

"Hey, I don't always have the answers." Said Angel

"I bet, so what do these doors lead to?" Asked Jake

"That you have to find out yourself. Sorry, I can't go any further. This part is where you have to go it alone. But don't worry we'll see each other again." Said Angel

"I can hardly wait." Said Jake

Jake began to walk forward but turned to see the tree behind him. But he couldn't see Angel. Jake just shook his head as Jake kept moving forward. As he kept walking, he saw the sky turn red, and the smell of smoke filled the air. What the? Jake then began to run towards the smell of the smoke and the light of the fire. He stopped when he saw it, Ponyville was on fire.

"NO!" Said Jake

He ran right into town dodging the roaring flames. He couldn't find a single pony around. He coughed as the smoke was getting into his lungs. He turned around, and his eyes widened when he saw a lavender alicorn lying only a couple of feet from the library. Jake ran forward and got down to Twilight's level and flipped her over. Jake held Twilight in his arms.

"Twilight, Twilight please talk to me." Said Jake

Twilight opened her eyes. She looked up at Jake. She slowly raised a hoof and ran it across Jake's cheek before a faint smile came to her face. Then her hoof dropped as she closed her eyes once and for all.

"Twilight, NO!"

"You've failed human."

Jake didn't know that voice. When he looked up, he saw Arceus looking down at him. Expect Arceus was a Shadow Pokemon.

"You failed your mission to stop Team Catastrophe and so forth let all these ponies die." Said Arceus

"Die." Said Jake

"Just look around you." Said Arceus

Jake slowly turned his head, and his heart started to pump even faster than before. Around him were lifeless ponies. He stood up and couldn't believe his eyes.

"No, no, I didn't cause this. You did Arceus, you and Team Catastrophe." Said Jake

"No this is your fault, you failed to protect them. You are the only one to blame for the loss of so many lives." Said Arceus

Soon Arceus flew up into the sky leaving Jake holding a lifeless Twilight and other dead ponies around him.

"NOOO!"

Jake blinked his eyes, and he was now in front of two doors.

"Glad to see your back." Said Angel

"Back, back from what?" Asked Jake

"Your fear." Said Angel

"Fear." Said Jake

"Yes, you see the creator told me that for you to exit your coma, you must pass the three fears that linger in your head. Only then can you return to the real world." Said Angel

"Ok, let's just stop right here. I can't be in a typical coma. I've never heard somebody who came out of coma passing through doors to get out." Said Jake

"Well, I guess you are right. You are in a coma. That is correct, but you're not in a natural coma. You see, when that Pokemon attack hit you, a surge of magic followed, and you ended up in a magical coma. They are entirely similar to an average coma, and unless a unicorn is near when you go into it, there is no way to tell it from a normal coma caused by a concussion." Said Angel

"But what caused this surge of magic. I know for certain I have no way to control magic." Said Jake

"Well, you see all creatures of Eques have a small portion of magic in their system. If you didn't, well you wouldn't survive an hour here in Eques. So you have magic in you, probably from whoever brought you here to keep you safe. So somehow that Pokemon attack caused your magic to surge and place you in this coma. So this is the reason I'm here because the creator needs you to get out of this coma. You are the best hope Eques has against its foes." Said Angel

"So let me guess that these two remaining doors are the two remaining fears I have." Said Jake

"Yes." Said Angel

"But it makes no sense why I would fear such things. The first door was if I failed and let everypony die, but I've never thought like that." Said Jake

"Jake you don't have to think of the fear to fear it. Sometimes the worst fears are the ones we never think could happen. These happen to be those concerns." Said Angel

"But why do I have to go through them." Said Jake

"Because the creator wants to make sure you don't fall into these types of fears." Said Angel

"I guess I can understand that. Well, time to move towards door number two." Said Jake

"Goodluck Jake, I'll be waiting." Said Angel

Jake grabbed the second doorknob and opened the door. He stepped into darkness before a set of lights come on. They made a straight line for him to follow. He followed the lights until he reached a set of doors. He pushed the large doors open and came out into a dark sky. Though it wasn't night, it was morning. He couldn't tell which area yet. He kept walking forward and found the area was full of slum houses. Ponies walked around looking like skin and bone. They looked up and began to run away. Jake raised his eyebrow. He kept walking until he found a large castle that mirrored the one in Canterlot. He then couldn't believe what he saw. Statues of him all over the place. Smoke behind him as he wore a black coat. He looked down at himself and saw he was wearing it as smoke was coming off of him.

"Glad to see you out, Commander Jake."

Jake knew that voice from his battling this person. He turned to see Foxy and Kitty walking towards him. They stopped and slowly moved their tails across his body. He felt shivers run down his spine as they brushed their animal tails across his body. They lend against him as he saw two Team Catastrophe grunts coming towards him. They dropped down Twilight, who was also just skin and bones. A ring sat on her horn and chains on her hooves. She also had a ring locking her wings in place. She looked up at Jake, and he could see her eyes were dead.

"What's going on?" Asked Jake

"Well Commander Jake, you have to decide the fate of the traitor, Twilight Sparkle." Said Kitty

"Traitor." Said Jake

"Traitor because she planned a revolt up against you and Team Catastrophe." Said Foxy

"Is this what you wanted, was my friendship worth nothing to you, Jake. Was all our friend's bonds worth anything to you." Said Twilight

"Jake doesn't care about friendship." Said Foxy

"That's right. Jake doesn't care about ponies. He wants to be with those who are like him. Team Catastrophe filled that hole for him." Said Kitty

"Yes, and with him, we achieved our goal of world control and the victory of Team Catastrophe. So Jake, what is the punishment for the traitor." Said Foxy

"Why Jake, why?" Asked Twilight

Jake blinked his eyes, and only one door was in front of him. He turned around and saw Angel sitting at a table eating a sandwich. He looked up to see Jake looking at him.

"I see you made it out of the second door. So what was that fear?" Said Angel

"I traitored my duties as the protector of Eques and became a member of Team Catastrophe. Then I took over Eques as a dictator." Said Jake

"Now the question is, why." Said Angel

"Because Kitty and Foxy and even the grunts of Team Catastrophe are human and I'm human. I guess it's the idea that I want to be with those who are similar to me." Said Jake

"Well, I hope you remember that and now, open the last door." Said Angel

Jake turned to the last door and grabbed the knob. Jake twisted the knob and pushed open the door. He stepped in and found himself in a waiting room. It was a standard waiting room. Soon another door opened, and Jake raised his eyebrow to it.

"Jake, please come in." Said a male voice

Jake stepped forward and saw the room had a desk and a lounging couch. Then there was another human sighting in the chamber. The person was behind the sofa sitting on a chair. The human was a male human. He stood about 5'10''. He had no hair on his head with brown eyes. He was also wearing a brown suit.

"Ah, Jake I'm so glad your here. Please sit down." Said the man

"Who are you?" Asked Jake

"Jake, don't you remember me. Well, I'm Dr. Martin. I'm your therapist. Now just lie down and let's talk." Said, Dr. Martin

Jake walked over and laid down on the couch.

"Now let's talk about these dreams you keep having about being a Pokemon trainer in a world of colorful ponies." Said, Dr. Martin

"Wait it was all just a dream. I'm still on Earth." Said Jake

"Yes, you've always been on Earth. So tell me about these dreams so I can help you discover why these ideas keep plaguing your thoughts. Especially this lavender pony by the name of Twilight Sparkle." Said, Dr. Martin

"Twilight Sparkle." Said Jake

"Yes, you told me that most of your dreams are around them. Do you have any idea why you think most of your dreams are about Twilight?" Said, Dr. Martin

Before Jake could answer, he blinked his eyes, and now he was sitting at a table with Angel across from him. Jake looked to see he was back in the meadow of flowers. He looked back to Angel.

"So your last fear is that everything is just a dream. Impressive my friend." Said Angel

"How did you that was my fear?" Asked Jake

"Oh, I knew your fears before you even entered." Said Angel

"Ok, but I have something to ask." Said Jake

"Yeah." Said Angel

"Each one of these fears all had one thing in common. Each had Twilight in them. Why was Twilight the main pony of all my fears." Said Jake

"Wish I could say, Jake. But that is for you to figure out." Said Angel

"Ok, but what happens now." Said Jake

"Now, you go home. But remember Jake, these fears are real to you. They are concerns that sit at the back of your mind and are real. Never forget what you saw behind those doors because these all can become a reality. I also hope you find out the reason Twilight appeared in every one of those fears. Goodluck my friend." Said Angel

Angel tapped his hooves together, and soon a light opened above Jake, and he started to disappear.

"Wait, Angel will I see you again." Said Jake

"Yes, but I'll say this. If you do see me again, you might not like the reason. But I believe we will see each other again." Said Angel

Soon Jake was completely gone and looked to see a smiling face of Angel. Then just a bright light consumed everything in his vision.

Jake's eyes opened and looked around. He heard the sound of a heart monitor beeping off. He slowly pushed himself up and looked around. He couldn't tell where he was, but he was in a hospital. He soon heard a door open and saw Twilight coming into the room. Jake saw that she was sad as she had ears plastered to her head.

"Why the long face, Twilight." Said Jake

Twilight's ears perked up at Jake's voice. She looked up to see Jake's smiling face. Tears run down Twilight's cheeks as she looked at Jake's smiling face.

"Jake." She said

Twilight flung herself into Jake's chest. Twilight cried as she wrapped her hooves around Jake's back. Jake ran his hands through her mane trying to calm her down.

"Is ok Twilight, I'm ok." Said Jake

"Jake, I'm so glad to hear your voice again." Said Twilight

"Yeah, so mind telling what happened while I was out." Said Jake

Twilight pulled her head back and started to tell Jake everything that happened while he was out. She spoke about Quantum and what they seek for the future of Eques. Twilight also talked about seeing a Mega Evolution Pokemon. She finished it by telling him that Celestia brought him here to Zeco to get him medical help.

"You've been out for three days, but the zebras were unsure if you would ever wake up or if you would stay in your coma forever. Celestia was already working on transporting you to Canterlot since we can't stay here much longer. I'm happy you're back with us, Jake." Said Twilight

"I'm happy to." Said Jake

"So I guess I should tell the others that your up." Said Twilight

"Ok." Said Jake

Twilight hopped off his bed and went towards the door. She opened it and turned around to see Jake's smiling face. Twilight smiled back and then went out the door. When she was gone, Jake stopped smiling. He ran his hand across his face. He could feel stubble coming out of his face. But that wasn't what was important to him. What was important was another fact.

"So all the fronts have shown themselves. Team Catastrophe, Quantum, and us. But only one question remains, which team will win it all and which side will be the first to fall." Said Jake
