Crystal Temple

The equestrian airship flew across the desert sand. The ship had left the Zeco after the zebra doctors gave Jake a clean bill of health, though they couldn't explain why he just woke up. Jake also kept his conversation with Angel and fears to himself. He didn't want to worry his friends. When Twilight returned with her friends, Pinkie tackled Jake and gave him a giant bear hug. He nearly passed out again from it, but Twilight got her off. The others said how happy they were and happy he was back. They also gave the same story that Twilight told Jake. After Jake had got himself back to the way he was, they boarded the airship, and the group was off. Cottonwood still believed that the Crystal Temple was still out there.

The ship flew over the Zecarian Desert that consumed all of Zebrica. Jake looked out across the sands as he looked for a building to be popping up from the sands. He sighed as it was just endless sands. Twilight came walking up to him as Jake gave a sigh.

"I give up. I don't know how we will find anything in this desert." Said Jake

"Hey don't give up just yet. Cottonwood says that the Crystal Temple is out there." Said Twilight

"I guess your right." Said Jake

The two stood on the deck of the ship as it soared through the sky. The hot sun beating down on them as they looked at the endless desert sand. Jake wiped the sweat from his brow as Twilight spread her wings to cool down her body and use them to fan herself. Jake couldn't give up now as he had to deal with Quantum and Team Catastrophe now. He sighed again and decided he and Twilight needed to get out of the sun for a while.

"Twilight let's go inside, we should cool down ourselves before we end up seeing mirages." Said Jake

"Not a bad idea." Said Twilight

The two walked back into the interior of the ship. Jake stopped in the kitchen and pulled out two water bottles. He walked back were Twilight was sitting in front of a fan. The wind of the fan was cooling off her body from the hot desert sun. Her wings still open and trying to cool herself off. Jake smiled as he sat down across from her.

"I thought you ponies praised the sun." Said Jake

"So funny Jake, but the deserts of Eques are much different than the lands of Equestria." Said Twilight

"Oh, how so?" Asked Jake

"First off, Celestia doesn't control the heat, Cloudsdale and the pegasi deal with that. But here in a desert, the vast areas of sand absorb the heat from the sun and bakes this area. So it becomes hot for those who aren't used to the heat. I don't now how the Zebra tribes make it." Said Twilight

"Zebra tribes." Said Jake

"Yes, even though you saw Zeco, the capital of Zebrica, the Zebras are more split into tribes. Many different tribes live in the desert. I just wish I knew how the Zebras make it. I could hardly stand just being in Zeco." Said Twilight

"Well Twilight, they probably adopted to the environment, while you are more adapted to the weather teams of Equestria." Said Jake

"I guess." Jake opened his bottle and began to drink from it. Twilight looked at hers. "Jake you wouldn't mind opening mine up. I can't concentrate long enough to use my magic." Jake stopped what he was doing and grabbed the bottle and opened it. "Um, mind helping me drink." Twilight blushed at that statement.

Jake just smiled and grabbed her bottle and placed it in her mouth. She happily drank the cold water. I just hope my friends don't see this. I don't know how I even explain this to them. Well, it is sweet of him to do all of this, even though I could use my hooves to drink. But still, it's nice to have him so close to me again. Jake removed the bottle and placed it on the table.

"Thanks, Jake and can we keep this between us." Said Twilight

"Sure." Said Jake

Jake stayed next to Twilight as the fan cooled her off. Then Celestia came into the kitchen. Twilight and Jake turned to her.

"I see I found you two." Said Celestia

"What's up, Celestia?" Asked Jake

"We are approaching the temple." Said Celestia

"Great." Said Jake

Jake got from the seat and went out with Twilight following close behind. Celestia followed close behind Twilight. Everypony was standing on the deck as they all watched the massive stone temple appear.

"So that's the Crystal Temple." Said Jake

"Yes." Said Cottonwood

The airship began to descend to the sand below. When the ship landed, the gangplank went into the sand. Jake and the other walked down to the sands. Once Celestia was off, she turned to her guards.

"Stay with the ship. Only disembark if Team Catastrophe or Quantum appear." Said Celestia

"Yes, princess." Said a guard

Celestia turned back and caught herself back with the group as they stood at the open entrance. They all walked into the building but found as they kept going further and further, it grew darker.

"Oh great, how are we supposed to see anything in here." Said Rarity

"Rarity you are a unicorn." Said Rainbow

"So." Said Rarity

"Use your horn. I know you can use an illumination spell." Said Rainbow

"Oh right, my bad." Said Rarity

Soon the glow of Rarity's horn filled the dark passage. Twilight did the same, followed by Celestia.

"What spell is that?" Asked Jake

"Illumination, any unicorn can learn it. It allows for our horns to glow brightly with our magic aura. It's a great way to travel in the dark." Said Twilight

"Well now that we have light let us continue onward." Said Cottonwood

The group proceeded through the dark passage with the light of the unicorns. They all looked around as Jake placed his hand on his Poke Ball belt. He wanted to make sure he was ready the second he needed one of his teammates. They continued forward with Cottonwood and his Sceptile leading the way. Then came a girly scream. Everypony turned to see Rarity running and hiding behind Jake's legs.

"What's wrong?" Asked Jake

"I saw something." Said Rarity

"What did it look like?" Asked Twilight

"Well, it was black and was oddly shaped. Oh, and it had one eye." Said Rarity

"Did it say anything?" Asked Twilight

"Darling I didn't wait around to listen." Said Rarity

"Rarity my only question is why are cowering behind my legs when you have Parchirisu." Said Jake

Rarity looked up and then back at the Poke Ball sitting on her belt. She laughed and started to blush in embarrassment. She walked away from Jake's legs and turned around. The second she did she was face to face with a multitude of eyes.

"Darlings, the eyes are back." Said Rarity

The team saw the multitudes of eyes through the darkness. Jake took Kirlia's Poke Ball and brought her out. But after he did, he started to look at those eyes. They seemed to remind him of something. Then finally a light bulb lit in his head.

"I don't think we need to worry. We all can stand down." Said Jake

"Kirlia."

"That means you to Kirlia." Said Jake

"Why are we standing darling? Shouldn't we be attacking those eyes." Said Rarity

"Because these eyes belong to a Pokemon. More importantly, they are Unown." Said Jake

"Unown." Said Twilight

"Unown, I remember now they are strange Pokemon that represent the alphabet. They reside in the temple. I was wondering why they didn't appear yet." Said Cottonwood

"Well, it looks like they are here. Please come out, Unown, we won't hurt you." Said Jake

Soon alphabet Pokemon appeared from the darkness. They floated around the light looking at everypony. Jake removed his Pokedex and pointed it at one of the Unowns.

"Unown the Symbol Pokemon. This Pokémon is shaped like ancient writing. It is a mystery as to which came first, the ancient writings or the various Unown. Research into this topic is ongoing but nothing is known."

"Interesting, they do look like they letters of the alphabet." Said Twilight

"Yes, it took me a while to figure out what they meant. It seems that wherever the Pokemon come from, the Unown are like a form of written language." Said Cottonwood

"So they live in places like this." Said Applejack

"Yes, so that means we are in the right place if this temple is full of Unown." Said Jake

"Then what are we waiting for, let's get our Key Stones." Said Pinkie

THe group continued forward with the Unown following next to them. Jake picked up Kirlia and placed her on his shoulders. She used his head to stabilize herself on him. He couldn't bare putting her back in her Poke Ball after bringing her out. They continue onward until they found a light at the end of the hall. The unicorns deactivated their horns as they approached the light. Then they all entered a large chamber room. But they all couldn't believe their eyes at the crystal that sat in the temple. It was a large green, blue and pink rock with the black DNA symbol in the middle. It sat in the middle glowing bright in the light.

"Kir, Kirlia."

"You said it Kirlia." Said Jake

"I welcome you all to the crystal that from it brings the Key Stone." Said Cottonwood

"That's fabulous darlings. We found it. But now the question is how we get a Key Stone from it." Said Rarity

"I know we hit it." Said Rainbow

Rainbow was getting ready to fly up and kick it when Jake grabbed her tail. She yipped and looked back at Jake as he held it tight. She blushed a little with him grabbing her tail.

"Mind letting go." Said Rainbow

"Rainbow I don't think striking the crystal is the way to go. I believe you need to look at the Unown." Said Jake

Rainbow turned and saw the Unowns' eyes were turning red and looking angerly at her. She gulped down the lump in her throat and landed as Jake let go of her tail. The Unown watched before going back to normal. Everypony calmed down as the Unown went back to normal

"Rainbow try thinking next time. You could have gotten us into a fight." Said Twilight

"Sorry." Said Rainbow

"So Cottonwood, how do we get a Key Stone then." Said Jake

"Well, I received mine from the Unown." Said Cottonwood

Jake rubbed his chin and looked at the Unown. How to get the Unown to trust us enough to get a Key Stone from them. Jake wondered what to do. Then he saw an Unown with a box. The Unown approached him. Jake took the gift and saw the others get a box. But Celestia didn't receive one as well as Cottonwood. I wonder why Celestia didn't get one. Then the Unown went to the front and watched the group. They all looked at each other and opened the boxes.

Jake then pulled out a silver necklace with a J Unown at the end. In the place where the eye was, was a Keystone. Jake turned to the others as the others pulling out their gift. Each of them got a bracelet with an Unown that connected with the first letter of their names and in the place of the eye was a Keystone.

"Interesting, the Unown just gave me a Key Stone. Strange that they would give you an item that holds the Key Stone." Said Cottonwood

"It is, but Pokemon are still a mystery to us. Have any ideas, Jake?" Said Celestia

"I got nothing. The Unown are a strange Pokemon." Jake turned to the Unown. "I want to thank you for this. I promise to use it for the right reasons."

"Unown."

Soon the Unown left them. Jake placed the necklace around his neck and pulled out the two Mega Stones. He turned to see the girls putting on the bracelets onto their hooves. Jake looked at the Mega Stone that would go Kirlia when she evolved into Gardevoir. But he had Audino's Mega Stone. He walked over to Fluttershy.

"Fluttershy this is yours." Jake handed Fluttershy the Audinite. "It's Audinite. It will allow you to Mega Evolve Audino when the time comes."

"Oh, thank you, Jake." Said Fluttershy

"Well, it seems we got our Key Stones, but Celestia." Celestia looked at Twilight. "You didn't receive one."

"I guess it wasn't my time. I guess when the Unown think it is my time, I'll receive mine." Said Celestia

"Well, I think this trip was successful." Said Jake

"Expect for the part where ya were in a coma and Quantum." Said Applejack

"Well, besides that, everything was perfect." Said Jake

"Kir, Kirlia."

"See Kirlia agrees." Said Jake

The girls just rolled their eyes as Jake laughed. The girls followed suit with Jake as Celestia smiled with Cottonwood.

The airship flew through the night air as it headed towards Canterlot. Jake stood outside looking at the evening sky. He was also enjoying the cold air. Jake took in a relaxing breath. Jake then heard the sound of hooves clopping towards him. He turned to see Twilight coming towards him.

"I thought you might find you out here." Said Twilight

"Why's that?" Asked Jake

"Well, I checked your room, and you weren't there. I then remembered that you enjoy the night sky. So I suspected you might be out here." Said Twilight

"I guess then I'm predictable. But I just can't stop looking up at the evening sky. Something about Luna's nights just draws me to them. I can't explain it, but something just makes it that way." Said Jake

"Glad to hear you enjoy Luna's nights. She works hard to please the ponies of Equestria after her return with beautiful nights. It seems to work as many ponies love the night as much as they enjoy the day. You know I love looking at the stars too. Sit down, and I'll point out some of my favorite constellations to you." Said Twilight

The two sat down, and Twilight start to point out constellations to Jake. She also talked about general knowledge of stars. Jake listened to her as he looked at the night sky, but started to lose his thought as he looked at the stars. Soon he felt something on his shoulder. Jake looked to see Twilight had fallen asleep while talking to him. Jake smiled as he looked at her. I think it's time for bed. Jake gently got up as not to wake Twilight. She woke for a second but yawned and curled herself up on the deck of the ship. Jake chuckled a little as he picked her up and carried her to her room.

He held her bridal style, so it allowed Twilight the complete access to nuzzle her head into his chest. Jake stopped as he looked down at her. He blushed as she continued to do it. He blushed even harder when she began to nuzzle her muzzle into the crook of his neck. Soon she stopped and settled herself into Jake's chest. He smiled as he continued on his walk.

He reached her room and opened the door. He pulled back the covers and laid her down. He brought the covers up, and she naturally took them in her hooves. It's always so interesting to see how ponies use their hooves like we humans use our hands. Jake shrugged his shoulders as he started to head towards the door, but stopped when he heard Twilight murmur something in her sleep. He went back over to her to try to see what she said. But the second his head went down was the second Twilight's head went up. Their lips locked in a kiss. Jake's face went as red as it could. After a few seconds, Twilight let go of his lips and rolled over. She had a content smile on her face. Jake, on the other hand, had a shocked expression plastered on his face.

Did I just kiss Twilight? Did my lips touch Twilight's lips? Jake touched his lips as he looked at Twilight happily sleeping away. He just turned around and left her room. But again Jake stopped and turned around.

"Jake." Said Twilight

Jake stayed silent as he left her room. He exited Twilight's room and closed the door. Jake went down to his room and went into it. He opened the door and closed it. Jake went to his bed and got under his covers. He still didn't know what to think about with the kiss. It was just an accident that we kissed each other. Yeah, it doesn't mean a thing. But Jake pressed his fingers to his lips as he recalled the feeling that came with the kiss. Jake smiled as he got under his covers and laid his head on his pillow. He closed his eyes and awaited to enter Luna's realm of dreams.
