Chapters 1000 Years ago, there were certain Unicorns who carried special abilities. I have this ability as well…as of today I am the only one with this ability.
Some were born with it…some were later gifted with it…I was born with it…because I am one of the originals…my ancestors carried it…We are of Royalty.
This ability allowed us to enter the minds and dreams of Ponies who sleep…we could interact with their life in the Dream state…not only that we could even cause physical effects that would affect the Pony in real life.
Some decided to use this power for evil…they were found and executed.
Almost all of us used it for good and peace.
My name is Luna Faust, and I am a Dreamwalker
Luna walks through a Starry-Skied World, as she took every step over a glass road with no end, around her were millions of Dreams, that showed what was happening in them…she looks around for any nightmares.
She turns around to see one of the dreams turning dark meaning there is something happening in that dream.
Luna then enters the dream to see monsters everywhere surrounding a little colt.
“H-help me please!!! Somepony!!!” The colt yelled as he covered himself with his hooves.
Luna casted a bright shine from her horn and the monsters were instantly vaporized.
The colt was still covering himself as well as shaking.
Luna floated down to the ground to comfort the colt.
The colt had a Light Blue coat with a Black & Dark Blue mane and tail, he was a unicorn as well, although there was no cutie mark seen on the colt, and he also seemed to have a black eye.
“You are safe now.” Luna says to the colt as she sits next to him.
The colt looks up to see Princess Luna sitting next to him and smiling.
“Princess Luna…I... how did you find me?” The little colt asked.
“You are dreaming little one, I saw the nightmare and I vanquished it.” Luna answers.
“Oh…well…thank you.” The colt says as he hugs her.
“You are welcome…tell me…what is your name?” Luna asks the small colt.
The colt sits there as he stops hugging her, he stays silent for a few seconds then answers.
“My name is Darkstar.” The colt says.
“Darkstar? That is a nice name.” Luna says
“Thanks…your majesty.” Darkstar says
“Mind if I ask you something?” Luna says.
“Not at all your Highness.” Darkstar says.
“You can just call me Luna by the way; where did you get that black eye?” Luna asks.
Darkstar freezes as he smiles and at the same time…looks worried.
“Oh well…I uh…” Darkstar hesitates.
“Darkstar…don’t be afraid to tell me.” Luna says.
“In School today I had an accident on the swing set.” Darkstar says.
“Is that it?” Luna asks concerned.
“Y-yeah…that’s it.” Darkstar says.
Luna looks at him for a little bit with a worried expression and then smiles, “Okay, well you be careful Darkstar…good night and sweet dreams.” Luna says.
“Thank you…Luna.” Darkstar says.
Luna exits the dream and walks through the realms again thinking about the little colt.
“Was he lying…is he hiding something…he didn’t look like he hurt…himself.” Luna says.
She continues walking until she is suddenly wakes up in her bed and to see the sun going up.
Luna sighs and lowers the moon as she gets up and out of her bed, she then walks out of her room and without her attire on or her crown.
“Good morning your highness.” The Night Guard says to her.
“Good morning.” Luna says to him, then walks down the hall.
My thoughts were toward that colt…he looked…special of some sorts…no one usually has demons and monsters in their dreams actually…I’m not kidding…the only time there were demons in dreams was when the Spirit I created…infected others minds.
Luna walks into the Kitchen and sees her sister, she smiles at her calling her name and saying ‘Good Morning Sis.’
Celestia looks back to see her young sister walk to the table and sit next to her.
“How was your sleep?” Luna asks her.
Celestia smiles and hugs her, “It was fine…it’s the same.” She says as she laughs.
“That’s good…” Luna says as she puts her head back.
“Is something troubling you Lulu?”
“Well…It’s nothing serious but…It’s just kind of concerning…if you know what I’m trying to say.” She says as she looks at her sister with a normal expression.
“What happened…did you meet someone in your dreams?” Celestia ask.
“A young colt…he had a serious nightmare…there were demons and monsters…that’s not normal actually.” Luna replies.
“Did you save him?” Celestia asks with a concerned expression.
“Yes…I did…but he looked like as if the monsters actually hurt him.” Luna says as she becomes worried.
“What kind of injuries were there?” Celestia asked.
“He had a black eye and a few very small cuts.” Luna says.
“That is concerning…Did you get the colt’s name, I could find out where he lives and you can figure out the mystery if you like?” Celestia says.
“His name is Darkstar.” Luna says.
“Darkstar…interesting name.” Celestia says.
“I’m going to get ready and everything, let me know when you have more information.” Luna says.
“Okay…but Lulu.”
Luna stops and turns to her sister
“Don’t stress yourself too much about this…it could just be something very small.” Celestia says in a concerned voice.
“Don’t worry, I won’t.” Luna replies with a smile.
With that Luna walks out of the Kitchen.
Thoughts swirled through me truthfully…that colt looks like he isn’t okay…he looked very relaxed as soon as I arrived in his dreams…after I left…he went back to sadness…his expression worried me…I needed to find out what was happening…this may sound crazy when you think about it, but if something irregular happens in dreams, usually it’s because of the affects that happen in his real life…I intend to find out what they are.
Ponyville, Equestria
“Darkstar, time to wake up darling.”
The young colt hears the familiar and sounding voice of his mother sitting next to him in his bed, she was rubbing his head with a smile.
She has the same coat color as her son, but her mane was aqua and dark blue on top, her bright aqua eyes also shined at him.
“Morning Mom.” Darkstar said as he smiles.
“Good morning my little angel.” She says as she gives her comforting smile.
“Is it school today?” Darkstar asks.
“Yes, it is…don’t you have a project to turn in?” His mother asks.
“Oh…yeah!” Darkstar says as he gets up and grabs the large poster that has drawings and everything.
The pictures showed the starry sky, the moon, and a small grass hill, and shooting stars with him sitting on the hill.
“That’s beautiful darling! Miss Cherilee will love it!” His Mother says as she smiles.
Darkstar smiles and rolls up the poster.
“Now, go get ready and everything and I’ll take you there.” His Mother says.
Darkstar does a playful salute and he walks downstairs and makes himself breakfast.
He then hears someone come downstairs, his father.
Darkstar just keeps looking at his food and eats as he tries to ignore him.
His Dad had a white coat along with a black and somewhat grey spots on it, he also had a small beard, he had a scar across the right side of his mouth and a manticore scratch on his left leg and body.
His father just walked to his chair and sat and he started falling asleep.
Darkstar finished his breakfast and went back up to brush his teeth and grab his backpack.
His mother straightened her hair up long with some small makeup, she then put on a watch and grabbed her bag.
“Mom, I’m ready!” Darkstar says.
“Good boy! Give me a second just putting a finishing touch then we’re out of here.” His mother replies.
She closes her bag and makeup case and she walks out of her room and walks to her son and they both exit the house.
“It better go good.” His father says somewhat slurred.
Darkstar’s Mother looks at her husband and then looks back and walks out with her son.
The two walk to school, with Darkstar’s Mother checking herself in her small mirror case.
“Mom, what did he mean when he said ‘It better go good.’ Seemed like he was talking to you.” Darkstar says.
“He just means that he hopes...you have a good day at school.” His mother says.
“Oh ok.” Darkstar says.
The two arrive at school and see the other fillies and colts play, Darkstar somewhat shakes a little.
“You okay honey?” His mother asks.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” Darkstar answers as he hugs her.
“Well then, you have a good day at school…after your done, just walk home…I’ll be home in a bit.” His mother says.
“Okay, love you Mom!” Darkstar says to her.
“Love you too darling.” She replies.
Darkstar walks off to school with a smile but then after a while, his smile disappears.
He walks through the Playground and sees everyone playing or talking, he then sees three fillies with white coats, black and white manes, and earrings.
Darkstar walks off and goes into the classroom early, he sees Miss Cherilee at her desk.
“Miss Cherilee!” Darkstar says.
Cherilee puts her head up and see Darkstar and smiles.
“Hello Darkstar, did you need something?” She asked.
Darkstar walked up to her desk and he takes out his poster.
“Do you mind if I turn in my Poster now? I’m asking because my backpack isn’t good enough to hold a big poster.” Darkstar says.
Cherilee sees the poster and she was amazed.
“Did you make this yourself Darkstar? This is beautiful.” She says.
“Uh…heheh…yeah, I did…you like it?” Darkstar asks.
“I love it! I’ll make sure this is hung up on my wall!” Miss Cherilee says with a smile.
“Thanks miss.” Darkstar says.
“Oh, Darkstar…where did you get that black eye?” She asks.
“Oh…it was nothing.” Darkstar says.
“Well…okay…if there is anything bothering you…come to me okay?” She says.
“Yes, Miss Cherilee.”
Darkstar sits at his desk with the other students, he listens to the teacher teach the class and he writes down his notes.
He then feels something hit his back, Darkstar stops writing.
Students behind him start chuckling, Darkstar looks down to see a small wrapped up paper under him…he then looks back at the students in the back to have blank expressions.
Darkstar goes back to writing and listening, he thinks about what everyone will think of his poster.
“Darkstar?”
He looks up to see Cherilee telling him to come up, he gets out of his chair and shows the poster to the class, there were a lot of ‘Ahhs’ and ‘Oohs’ in the class, but then he felt a spitball hit him.
Darkstar rubs his cheek to feel it and he takes it off.
“This is basically me in the meadow hills looking at the Starry night sky…I find the nighttime beautiful in my opinion…The reason why I find it beautiful is because, my mother tells me the stars are ponies watching over us and keeping us safe, the moon is where they go once daytime begins. Can you imagine all those ponies up there, watching over us?” Darkstar says.
“Thanks you Darkstar, absolutely beautiful.” Ms. Cherilee says as she claps her hooves.
Darkstar smiles and walks back to his desk.
The bell rings for school to end, and Darkstar walks out with a smile on his face…anyone who did an amazing job today at school, got a prize like: Candy, a toy, etc.
Darkstar walked out with a Pinwheel, he liked how it shined when you spinned it.
“Hey Darkie.”
Darkstar’s smile disappears and he looks to his right to the three ponies from before.
“Nice job today…” One of the ponies said.
Darkstar didn’t answer.
“What’s wrong? Not happy to see us?” Another pony says.
Darkstar starts walking away.
“Hey! We didn’t say you can go!” One of them say and their horn glows
Darkstar is pulled back and he was floating in their faces.
“You should be a little nicer to your friends.” The Pony holding him says.
“I don’t want any trouble today, Sapphire.” Darkstar says as he mentions her name.
“You got some.” Sapphire says, she drops Darkstar and she kicks him.
The other two ponies kick him, and then Sapphire picks up his Pinwheel.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Darkstar.” She says and they all walk away.
Darkstar gets up to see a bruise on his stomach, he sighs and walks back home.
12:32am
Ponyville, Equestria
Down in Ponyville, Luna flies in the night sky to arrive at the Castle of Friendship. She knocks three times and waits patiently as she also goes to her thoughts.
Hopefully, he hasn’t done anything yet…he doesn’t even know himself.
I can’t let this happen again…I could never forgive myself if it does happen...
Dammit…don’t think like that Luna, he’s only a child…It could never happen.
“Yes, who is it--oh! Princess Luna, what brings you here this late?”
Luna looks back at the door to see Twilight Sparkle with her smiling.
“I need to speak to you about something…it somewhat involves you.” Luna says with a worried expression.
Twilight, looks at her with worry…what was it? A Monster attacking Equestria? The return of Sombra? Something Horrific?!
“Have you heard of a Dreamwalker?”
Twilight gets lost from her panic and focuses on the question with confusion.
“Dreamwalker? I haven’t…If I had to guess it’s what you are…with your Dream capabilities and such.” Twilight says.
Luna enters the castle and closes the door, she looks down and closes her eyes.
“You are correct Twilight, and I am the only one…or possibly not.” Luna says.
“Possibly? You mean to tell me you weren’t the only one to walk in the dream realm?” Twilight says surprisingly.
“Yes…there were many of us and we kept the peace…only Unicorns were capable of these powers…after the reign of Discord this came into play...I chose Children and Familes who were homeless...I mostly wanted to save them from the dark streets but then I thought of something else that would help them with their lives...I gave them a chance for them to help keep peace in the Dream Realm, I only could ask the Unicorns however...The children said yes...as well as some Elders, Stallions, and Mares. We lived in harmony and secrecy among Equestria.” Luna says with her head still down but eyes open.
“Secrecy? Why did nopony know?” Twilight asks
Luna puts her head up and looks at Twilight.
“Ponies would fear us…as they already feared me thousand years ago even if I was their Princess, although before they knew I was a Dreamwalker…some already thought I was an Evil Spirit.”
Twilight looks at her with sorrow.
“Why though? Why would Ponies already think that?” Twilight asks.
“Besides Me and Celestia being Goddesses…someponies had believed in other Religions.”
Twilight stands there with a sad expression
“I was called a monster, a demon, it was one of the reasons I became Nightmare Moon…why they shunned me in the moonlight.” Luna says almost about to tear up.
“I’m sorry Luna, but what about your dreamwalkers?” Twilight asks
“When someponies discovered one of my Dreamwalkers…she was called a Witch, a curse, all that…a cult of different religion killed her son as a message to her…she later killed them and she was heartbroken from what she did…she killed herself believed she was a monster.” Luna says with tears running down.
Twilight hugs Luna in an attempt to comfort her.
“After that movement…some of my Dreamwalkers turned on me and decleared War…they then turned to Nightmare Walkers, darkness took control of them and I had to…” Luna stops as she starts crying with regret.
“What did you have to do?” Twilight hesitantly asks.
“I couldn’t stop them…no matter how much I reasoned with them…no matter how much I tried…after I captured them…I couldn’t turn them back to normal…I had to execute them.” Luna’s voice breaks at the last few words.
“Why didn’t you try the Elements?” Twilight asked while comforting Luna.
“We never thought of them at the time and I didn’t think they would work…after my regrets and sorrowfulness, darkness started to spawn within me…The darkness then overcame me and I transformed to Nightmare Moon…I then did something else so regrettable…” Luna said.
Twilight saying with no words asking ‘What happened?’
“I called all my dreamwalkers and I manipulated them and turned them all into Nightmare Walkers…Celestia never told you that it was just me and her…It was Sister, her army, Me, and my Army.”
Twilight thought of it and it would explain all the damage to the Old Castle.
“It was then me and her…and as soon as I had her…with my Army behind me…she used the Elements, even though that it was not its purpose…she used it, then me and my Dreamwalkers all were banished to the moon…from that course of Action…the Elements lost Power and we lost our Touch with them rendering that we couldn’t use them anymore…” Luna says.
“It explains so much now…why she wanted me to make friends…and control the Elements, I’m so sorry Luna…I wish that none of it happened to you…but when you returned…what happened to your Dreamwalkers?” Twilight asks.
“I was a Goddess…they were not, they couldn’t breathe in the atmosphere…they died a slow and painful death up there…and there was nothing I could do but stand and watch as all my Children, my Ponies…died.” Luna said.
Twilight started to tear up along with Luna as she embraced her in a hug of sorrow, she couldn’t get the thought of all those Ponies…young and old…Die from lack of Air.
“I still remember all their names, and how much there were…and how old they all were…and I lost them all.” Luna says as she was still crying.
“If I can guess again…you’re here because there might be a Dreamwalker in this town?” Twilight asks.
Luna looks up at Twilight with tears drying up from her face and muzzle.
“Yes…I was guarding though the Dream Realm and I came across an unusual one…I felt darkness in it so I looked and there was a small colt that had Demons surrounding him…they were even able to hurt him…only a dreamwalker can actually feel the pain inside a minded reality.” Luna says.
“So he might be a Dreamwalker?” Twilight asks
“Yes…and he might be The Last Dreamwalker.” Luna says with an expression of seriousness.
End of the Morning (Updated)
Canterlot Castle, Equestria
Luna goes through the archives of The Canterlot Libraries, looking for the files of everypony.
“Darkstar...Darkstar...where is that book?” Luna says as she still looks through the archives.
“Looking for this?”
Luna looks to her left to see Celestia levitating the book with a joking smile.
“Oh you--yes, that’s it.” Luna says as she tries to hide her smirk from the joke her sister pulled.
Celestia hands her the book and she turns the pages for her and locates the name Darkstar.
“Thanks sis.” Luna says as she smiles and looks at the info.
Every Birth Certificate is copied and sent to the Canterlot Archives for info and to see info about their background sometimes…for situations like this.
“His Parents are named Claire Nightstand and Scar Daylight, his father is a Royal Guard Veteran and his mother was a teacher until she got laid off, she’s unemployed…Darkstar goes to Ponyville Elementary.” Luna says.
“It seems you know where to go tomorrow.” Celestia says as she closes the book and puts it back in the Archive Shelves.
“Indeed…I need to find out more about this little colt and see if he is gifted.” Luna says.
Ponyville, Equestria
Darkstar sighs as he makes a small screeching sound because of his bruise from the kicks.
He enters his home to see his Dad laying there holding a Hard Apple Cider.
Darkstar tries to ignore him and silently walks up the stairs.
“How was school?”
Darkstar stops and he looks down to answer his Dad.
“It…was…fine.” Darkstar says hesitantly.
“Don’t lie to me…did you get beat up again?” His Dad asks.
“Y-yes.” Darkstar says, as he starts to tear up and walks to his Dad.
“Don’t give me that crying shit…you need to be a stallion and stand up for yourself.” His Dad tells.
“I--but…okay.” Darkstar hesitantly says.
“Now get yourself cleaned up and go to your room for lying to me.” His Dad says.
“Dad, you aren’t gonna do anything? Help me? I got beaten up.” Darkstar says.
His Dad then gets up angrily and starts to walk to his Son.
“Yeah, and I’m gonna beat you up if you talk back to me again…I’m not gonna help you, this is your own problem…deal with it.” His Dad says.
“Y-yes sir.” Darkstar says holding back his tears as he walks upstairs to clean himself up.
1 Hour later
Darkstar walks around in his room as he throws his backpack in rage…he starts to cry…hoping something good could happen, if someone would help him.
Then someone knocks on his door and he looks back and says ‘Come in.’
His mother walks in with a concerned face as she walks to comfort her child.
“Honey…what’s wrong?” she asks.
“Everything…” Darkstar says.
His mother then looks back at the door with small anger.
“I got a good grade on my project, and I even got a prize…A Pinwheel…I felt happy and accomplished…but then…the three fillies came and took my Pinwheel and beat me up.” Darkstar says.
He then reveals his bruises around his stomach and cheek.
“Oh my Goddesses, my poor baby.” His mother says as she hugs him.
“I came home and I ask Dad if he could take care of it or help me…” Darkstar says.
“What did he say?” His mother asks.
“He said I have to stop crying and be my own stallion and take care of it myself…I asked him again and he threatened to hurt me if I asked again or talk back as he called it.” Darkstar says as he continues crying.
His mother then sits straight up and has a face of anger.
“He what?!” His mother says.
“No mom, please…it’s not his fault…I should take care of it myself.” Darkstar says.
“You’re only a colt! You’re still my baby!” His mother says.
“But mom please--“
“Darkstar look, leave it to me…you are not ready yet…you’re still young, I’m gonna talk to your father okay, you just stay here…I’ll call you when dinner is ready.” His mother says.
“Okay Mom.” Darkstar says.
“I love you, no matter what…I won’t let anything hurt you.” His mother says.
“I love you too Mom.”
The two hug and she gives him a kiss on his bruised cheek.
30 Minutes later
“He’s still a little colt! You have no right!” Claire (Darkstar’s mother) says.
“He needs to learn to stand up for himself sooner or later! He needs to learn it now! We won’t be here forever to cover him…I don’t give a damn what you do…but don’t question how I treat my child!” Scar (Darkstar’s father) says.
“OUR Child! He’s our child Scar! Have you not forgotten that!” Claire says.
“You haven’t been able to support the family from your unemployment! I have through my services!” Scar says.
“Oh yeah, but you’re not in the Royal Guards anymore! Now you sit there on your lazy ass drinking Hard Cider, that really covers our payment huh?” Claire says with rage.
Scar then strikes Claire with his hoof out of rage, she falls to the ground holding onto the left side of her jaw.
“You do not insult me, question me, or anything…At least I do something and pay these bills and all that…I’m the reason we have food on the table and we have a roof to sleep under. You probably didn’t even get fucking hired again, didn’t you?” Scar says.
“No…I didn’t.” Claire says with disappointment in herself.
“That’s what I thought, now make me my food.” Scar says as he sits back down and chugs another gulp of Hard Cider.
Darkstar spies on the two from upstairs, he starts crying as he then walks back into his room.
"Somepony please help me..." Darkstar whispers as he lays in his bed.
