Part I: First Steps In A New World- Chapter 1: Eternal Damnation, Or?
Here I am, here at the end of the line, the end of what should I have never begun. I curse at myself for being so stupid, for letting myself do all of this. I sat against a wall stained with blood, my blood. My breathing is raspy and strained, even more so behind the mask that became me, i'm having trouble just letting out air. Being stabbed and shot does that to a person. I attempted to move, but the smallest action hurts. I guess i'll just sit here until they come for me or at least finish me themselves. They should finish me, I won't stop, I can't stop not until they are all dead. That didn't sound like me at all, but its what I've become now. My vision is blurred by my tears and anguish but I could still see them, they were talking to each other, the survivors of my slaughter. Two women and one man, they were discussing about what to do with me. They all had blood on them, which I caused to flow. I know them personally but they don't know me, they only see a murderer and I hope it stays that way.
I was able to shift myself to look at the front door of the house. The place was a grand property, the kind nearly anybody would want. It has two stories, three bathrooms, and five bedrooms. It probably had extra rooms for different things, like the kitchen and such. The house right now however was in shambles thanks to me, from where I sat I could see the bodies. Even near death I get distracted with random things.
Another attempt of mine to move caught the attention of the group. I cursed at myself again for being impatient but I had to act now before they decided what they wanted to do.
They cautiously approached me, stopping half way towards me. Second thoughts maybe, after all I could give them one last scare for plot sake. I laugh inside at my own banter, because I really couldn't laugh outright lest it hurt to much.
I start to panic inside as one of the girls decides to get closer even though her remaining friends tell her no. It had to be this girl to decide to approach me, why not him or the other chick? Anyone but her. I don't want her to know who I am, who I was. I let out an audible sigh hoping that she would stay back. Instead it seemed to intrigue her more. As she came closer, my vision cleared enough for me to see her beauty. She was breathtaking, it was always hard to describe the feeling she felled me with. They told her to be careful.
She kicked the bloodied knife that was near my hand away. I would have thanked her if it wasn't for the fact that she was reaching for face next. With all my strength I quickly clasped her wrist, holding it back. That all sent pain though my body but I had to stop her.
*Bam*
He shot me again, in the shoulder this time. The pain was unbearable. I let my arm go limp as I couldn't hold it up anymore, my strength was draining from me as fast as the blood was running. My suffering would only grow as she reached for my face again. She lifted my mask off of my head, only to gasp in shock as she staggered backwards while holding my second face in her hands. She dropped my mask on the floor and covered her mouth with her hand before turning away from me. My heart began to tear itself apart as I could hear her crying. She whispered my former name in sadness and anger. The others looked at me with only hate. She demanded me to tell her why I did it.
I did for many reasons. Revenge, Jealousy, Lust, even Joy. All I could tell her however was that I was sorry. I said it as if it mattered. She scowled at me before going back to to her friends. Thats when the police sirens were heard from outside the house, they gave me one last look before heading towards the door that soon was held opened by the cops who helped them outside into the night, filled with the flashing colors of red and blue. I saw the reactions of some of the officers, they were satisfying to say the least. I've lost myself. I see nothing anymore as my vision leaves me, soon my life is too follow as I feel everything leave me. I have the strength for one more thing that I myself enjoy saying and since it will be the last time I say it.
"What's Your Favorite Scary Movie?", One last breath in and one last breath out is all I have as darkness covers me.
"~All around me are familer faces, worn out places~", I heard it, the song the first thing that came to mind as I found myself rejuvenated in life, so to speak. I had just opened my eyes and the beautiful blue sky welcomed me. I took a deep breath in as it felt good to do so, after my whole ordeal of nearly dying anyway. I should be dead though. I touch my body on all the places where I was hurt but they had nothing, I felt no pain, and there were no visible marks. They had healed but how? How did they? Was I gone for long, did In slip into a coma or something? Then I remember that I'm outside on the grass.
I pick myself up from the grassy ground, only to wobble abit on my feet. Taking a look at myself I saw I still wore my black gloves and torn black robe. I touched my barren face, I could feel my skin, my nose, and my lips. I felt naked like this, that is until I took a gander at my surroundings and noticed my mask on grass. It stared at me with a sorry, frantic look. The white of it stood out like a sore thumb from the grass. I picked it up, stared long and hard before pulling it over my head, and wearing it once again. I pulled the hood over my head to complete my image.
I'm back somehow, or maybe this was the afterlife. My deeds should have gotten me into hell or some other damnation, but here I am in some kind of grass plain no where near my original location. Surveying the area I can see a house, a cottage not too far from the entrance of the woods behind me. They might be able to tell me where I am, then I'll gut them. I shake my head in rage. I have to stop thinking like that its not me. Better yet, i'll just sneak in and figure out for myself where I am, they're bound to have a map or somesort of electronic with them. I've been making my way towards the cottage, hoping no ones home.
"Lucky me, no one is home", I mask my voice even though I'm alone, I did enjoy how it sounded. I hop though the window, which wasn't even locked. You'd think living near the woods would give who ever lives here some caution. Its a nice cottage, not to small or big, just right. I take notice of the lack of outlets, or any electricity type dealies. They must be all natural then, just my luck I suppose. I take a small tour of the house, nothing special stands out except for the clothes that barely fill the closet. They belong to a women I believe, really short, with some two holes in the back of the dresses for some reason. "A dwarf lives here!?", I kidd as I inspect the wardrobes more and I take a whiff of one of them. She smells nice, like nature in a way.
I hear the door just now open. Seems that she's home. I wouldn't want to frighten her, so I hide.
Chapter 2: These Ain't My People
Stealth, something i've had a knack for ever since I put on this costume. Able to hide away in plain sight was a gift with this outfit. More like a curse then anything else to others though. I hear her, or rather I think I do as the sound of her footsteps appear different, like multiple steps more than the two we have. She stops, and from the sound of things she's in the kitchen. Making a sandwich probably. I should go while she's busy with her food, theres a window in her room so I'll leave through there. The fall won't hurt, I've survived worse after all. By no means am I Michael Myers but I do survive, or did, or do still, I don't know.
I step out of the shadows, if someone had seen me they would have thought I suddenly appeared out of thin air. This window wasn't closed either, and I take hold of it but before I open it. I see something outside, at the ground floor there's a costumed horse? It wore a black duster, topped with a matching farmers hat. I smiled underneath my mask because I found it quite funny to see an animal were clothes but what really got me was the mask it wore, a plague docter mask. A typical white one.
It remained motionless, and had it gaze set on the cottage. "Spooky", I say in a cracked whisper. It had ill intent, because no animal just stares like that and wears something of that form everyday. Also because I've done that motionless, staring contest with a building before. In my inner rambling I failed to notice that the horse had disappeared somehow. I raise an eybrow in confusion, not that I didn't see that coming, but...I didn't see it coming.
I'm still confused by the whole horse thing but I have to get out, no need to stay here and lose myself again. Just then I hear the stairs being climbed, and I quickly but silently open the window, exit and closed it. Honestly I should have paid attention to the surrounding area of the window as I found myself hanging by vines and leaves that grew on the building. They would give way at anytime as one had already began to snap, then another and another. I didn't panic but I did try my best to stay on the roof until both the vines I held onto failed me and ripped sending me to the ground below.
*Thud*
The nice soft grass broke my fall though...not really. Small pain slithered though my back as I get back up dusting myself off. Fortunately the grass did muffle my fall so I doubt I was heard. She must like animals, as not only was there a chicken coup but a variety of other animal homes as well as other sleeping animals who just slumber outside. They look so peaceful in the night.
*Clank* *Tap* *Clunk*
I hear a commotion at the first floor of the house, in the living room. I look up to see the faint shadow of the owner upstairs still. I start to walk away as this was no business of mine but I stop.
"It could just be a guest of hers. I mean come on, who would hurt a women who lives by herself near the woods with no help for miles", I say sarcastically to on one in particular. I really hope Its a guest, I can't be doing this or else I'll lose myself again and I don't want a repeat of before. Never again.
That's when I hear a sudden sceam before it's cut off almost immediately, followed by what I can assume to be a scuffle and then nothing. I sigh in defeat, as I make my way towards the cottage back door. I look through the small window on the door but I couldn't see anything past the hall and kitchen, they must be beyond it then. I turn the knob of the door and to no ones surprise it wasn't locked. She must have been asking for it then. I slither through the open door, as I approach the hall corner next to the stairs. I take peak from the edge. Thats when I saw the owner and soon I found myself confused and surprised by what I'm looking at.
I try to process the situation. That horse from before stood in the living room, guarding the homeowner who's tied up with duct tape around her mouth. That didn't surprise me but the species of the homeowner did. She was a horse too, or rather a pony now that I think hard about it. She was a yellow color with pink hair or mane. Glistening tears rolled down her face, she was scared. I smiled in joy at her fear and the tears that fell, it gave me pleasure see her like that. I smack myself in rage. She's hurt and afraid and there is nothing enjoyable about that!
Then it hit me. Fluttershy, that's her name. I remember her from before, somewhere, somewhere like the T.V. Yes! I remember her from the My Little Pony show. I used to watch that back before it ended, but how? Shes not supposed to be...real. I look again and see that the horse-pony thing began to drag her away. Real or not she seems to be in distress. I have a huge grin on my face right now as I begin my game.
I let out a wicked cracked chuckle that was not my own. The masked pony heard it all too well as it let go of the mare and approached the direction of my chuckle. He quickly turned the corner but I was already gone.
"Close, but you have to be quicker then that!", I cackle from afar. The pony whipped it's head back and cautiously walked back to the living room. I always enjoyed making them wander aimlessly towards nothing. With him distracted I pulled open a drawer from her kitchen, even here they have questionable knives. I carefully select a butcher knife, not my preferred choice of weapon but the others seem dull or unorthodox to use. The grip is unusual, not feeling right in my hands, nonetheless It shall do for now. Silently I close the drawer and continue with my new prey.
The masked pony came into the kitchen. Again I was gone, hidden from his sight but not far from it. I should be thankful that Fluttershy's a animal lover as the wood beams that hold her bird friends nest gave me a hiding spot and a vantage point. Even bad ponies don't look up, not that he would notice me. He looked around the kitchen, never leaving the doorframe before he went back to the living room again. I drop down with perfect silence as his back was turned to me. I followed the oblivious pony into the room where Fluttershy be tied up, still on the floor, crying.
Her eyes widened upon noticing me hiding behind the plague doctor pony. I place one finger against my longated mouth, the shush gesture. Then I drive the knife deep inside the side of the masked pony's neck, I then twist it inside slowly. I didn't find it very thrilling as it felt like I stabbed a doll or something. The pony staggered to side a bit, it attempted to pull the knife out but gave up before going limp and falling over like a ragdoll, sprawling on the floor. I tilt my head slightly in confusion, before the body itself began to dissolve into some kind of black smoke which disappeared into the air shortly after. The blade was the only thing left behind by it, which I promptly pick up and inspect. No blood or any kind of liquid was on it, much to my disappointment. I whip my head back at Fluttershy who just stared at me with fear in her tear soaked eyes. I pick her up off the floor and place her on her couch. She wasn't very heavy, which surprised me.
It would be easy now, to just cut her. She wouldn't be able to scream, and seeing her blood spill would make up for my prior disappointment. I close in on her, i'm mere inches away from her face. I could hear and slightly feel her puffs of breaths that come out of her nose. I bring the knife to her cheek, she stared at it and tried to move her face from it but continued to press it against her cheek. I take the knife away from her cheek and move it closer to her gut. She closes her eyes upon seeing me pull my hand back expecting the worse.
Instead I start to cut her binds, the knife slowly but effectively cuts through the ropes and soon enough she was free. I can't do it, I can't end her life. She may be fake or not but I won't hurt her. I leave the duct tape on her though, can't have her scream now. I rub the back of my hand against her cheek this time, she recoils a bit. She stares at me with horror. I have gotten use to thay stare but it still stung. I quickly turn around, and head for the door, and leave.
I head down the road of the cottage, and I see much further down I see a town. Probably Ponyville, that further fuels the fact that i'm no longer in my world, or maybe i'm dreaming. Although I feel like this is unlikely and I ain't going to off myself just to see. I should do it, save this world from me. Come to think of it, I doubt this world would have a problem with me, magic and all. Or is all that wishful thinking. Should I be freaking out that I'm not at home no more? Even if there is no home for me anymore. Its a surprise that I'm here, but I am not going to freak. I see that the sun is setting bringing in dusk.
Maybe I can try to introduce myself, without the costume. Like try to be a normal human in Equestria type thing. From what I remember fanfics have told me, they'll be understanding and maybe accepting. Probably help me get home I guess and all that. I sigh, It won't be that easy especially when it comes to me. I stare at the distant Ponyville wondering what I should do now. That plague doctor looking pony is still a riddle to me. Why did it just dissolve away, was it real or not?
Now that I think about it, I don't think I can meet anypony with my appearances just like that. They'll freak. More for what I'm wearing actually or maybe just because i'm not a freaking pony. They can't be allowed to see me then.
So I guess Ghost-Face is in town.
By the time I reached Ponyville, the moon took it's place amongst the stars. I'm glad it did as the night always gave me cover from watchful eyes. However I don't think it will matter as there is literally no one outside. I mean does no one just take a stroll or something.
I take no precaution as I simply walk though Ponyville where if anyone were actually outside they would see me. I tread down the dirt roads of Ponyville, letting my eyes wander to what ever caught there attention. Ponyville looks amazing, before I thought this place looked rather lackluster, but seeing it right here right now. Breathtaking. I finally see how grand the old style look of the town is.
On a side note, after walking some more I hear something from afar, it was muffled but I could tell from where it was coming from. The closer I got to this certain building with neon lights flashing inside I heard the techno music become less muffled. From what I could tell by the sign it had, which was just a disco ball and a pony laughing? So I assume it be a club. Well at least they party you know.
Moving on, the emptiness of the town still bothered me. I doubt every pony here was in that club so were they all a sleepin'. I start to take a good long look at my current location in Ponyville and I think I'm lost, as none of this looks familer to what I remember of the show. There's houses, and more houses then stores but nothing seems close to anywhere that would I recognize. I don't even see the town hall! I mean Twilight's castle sticks out so much that only a blind person wouldn't be able to see it. You'd think they would have a map of the town on a stand or even street names. So my options are wander around until I find a familiar destination or proceed to Twilight's castle first and then look for the rest.
"Damn these Crickets and Cicadas are starting to get unbearable!" I say out loud as no one would hear me anyways. The show makes this town seem so small but damn is it huge. I'm just now getting close to Twilight's castle.
At the entrance to her castle, I push one of the two heavyset doors open. I step inside the darkened castle that the rays of lunar light help brighten. I close the door quietly enveloping the whole place in darkness. My eyes begin to adjust a little but it was still hard to see, even for me. I take off my mask for the first time in a while to see if that would give me better sight. It did not help but I did see the lobby staircase. If I find a balcony i'll be able to see all of Ponyville making it easier for me to pinpoint where her home is. I would hope to get there before sunrise for obvious reasons.
Up the stairs I go and not long do I find myself tired from the long climb up. How does she go up and down these stairs everyday? jeez.
After what felt like a five story walk up the stairs, I find myself staring at a multitude of doors. I slouch and roll my eyes in exhaustion with a sigh. How does she remember which room is which, it's a maze up in here. The first door I open was a bedroom, then the next was a bedroom, and the one after that was...a bedroom. So pretty much these rooms are just filler or for guests. Well atleast the next room I checked wasn't a bedroom, instead it was a art room? It had a easel, paint, and paintings. Some of the paintings inside caught my eye as they resembled famous artworks from Earth, but ponyfied. One of which was facing me, the only one, and it felt as if it was placed there to mock me or something. It was The Scream painting. "Great to know that fate has a sense of humor", I say as I close the door to that room. I peak into more rooms and each was balconyless. Now I'm getting frustrated, as my patience is on its last leg. How many rooms can one castle have?!
I finally catch a break, finding a room with a balcony. The room I entered was small but only because it was filled with relaxing decore and furniture. I shuffled around said furniture to get out towards the balcony. The balcony here wasn't large as it served more as a huge open window were one could step inside. I whistled in astonishment, at how high above Ponyville I am. Looking above me I notice that we are near the final floors of the castle.
Which I question myself on how we got here for fast.
Setting my sights back on Ponyville, I observe the town from left to right. Focusing on no real destination. Town Hall was in the center, go figure.
I lean forward on the balconys rail. I ponder my situation.
This is all nuts! I'm in Ponyville, In fucking Equestria, a land filled with magical talking animals, that know more peace then my world ever could. Why am I here, me of all people. I didn't want a second chance, I've done nothing to deserve a second chance but I got one. I grasp my mask with both hands over the railing, staring hard at it. My eyebrows lower in anger the longer I gaze upon the mask of my undoing, my second face. I wanted to get rid of it, not just the mask but also this pit feeling inside that felt cold and warm, it made me weak in the bones, it stung me. Looking at the mask only increased the feeling, I felt like letting tears out but I forced them to stay. I inhaled sharply before putting my mask on and just like that the feelings were lessened, I felt different when the mask covered my face. I become Ghostface, I do the Ghostface voice impression, a darn good one too. I do it all but never could I do these things as my true self. Best not stay here, or else.
Looking over at Ponyville again, I notice a puff of odd smoke above the town approaching the castle, it slithered erratically in the air, twirling around sometimes as it neared. I raised an eyebrow in confusion, as I knew that the ponies could control clouds in a way, but this odd smoke cloud was moving on it own. I watched the cloud spiral into the castle through a window, a floor or two up.
I don't know what's with me but I found myself leaving the room I currently was in, and making my way up another flight of stairs to the floor I presume the smoke entered. Call it curiousity or ignorance of it, I wanted to know what that smoke was, it looked familiar to the smoke the plague doctor pony dissolveed into at the cottage.
I made extra care to stay well hidden since I have no idea where that odd smoke cloud went to. I shimmy briefly against the crystal wall, before dashing to the other side of the hall just close to the corner that the hall turned to. I take a peak into the branching hallway that lead to a room with two large blue glass doors. Facing the door was a silhouette that I couldn't completely make out who or what they were. It's making weird clicking sounds. I squint my eyes in an effort to see better but that failed. The clicking sounds obruptly stops and to my surprise I saw the silhouette vaporize itself into the odd smoke I say just minutes before. Then it seeped through the cracks of the doors entering the room. I blink hard a few times to make sure I say that correctly.
That thing evaporate into thin air before. Was it the same from before then. Did it just use magic to live? I bob my head thinking what to do, if this thing is like the one from before then I can't let them go. In a way I'll be doing the ponies a favor as I don't believe this thing is here for a cup of sugar. After all it the last one tied up Fluttershy and I presume it will do the same to Twilight. Again I was oblivious to it as it didn't take notice of me before it left. The dark hallway obscured me well, still I was cautious on how I moved near the door. By the door I press my ear against it doing my best to hear any unusual sounds.
Nothing came to my ear but silence. With no other way in I slowly push open the door enough so I can pass through then I close the door behind me. Once inside I carefully crouch down to avoid detection. From my view right now I can tell I'm in a master bedroom dimly lit by the lunar light allowing for more visability. Though before I can tell more about the room I quickly shuffle back as I take notice of the plague doctor pony who stood next to a grand purple bed. I move back until I meet a small bookshelf that hid with the shadow of the room, from there I stare at the masked pony.
From the look of it, this must be the same one from the cottage.
I gaze at the plague doctor who gazed upon a sleeping figure on the bed. I was to low to see who exactly it may be but I think it to be Twilight.
A guess at best.
I pulled the butcher knife out, holding it with the blade sticking up.
I observe the plague doctor more and notice it reach inside its coat, looking for something. Not long does it pull out a chrome sphere. I decide to make a move. I don't believe he going to play ball with that sphere. Again he's too distracted with whatever he doing to notice me or anything else. I draw near him as I intend to stab him the way I did before. I take time to notice who slept on the bed and my guess was best after all as it was Twilight. I'm glad she was asleep, it would be easier if I were left unknown.
I brought my hand back ready to drill the knife in his neck but before I could stab him. It immediately jerked is head back at me. My heart beat faster as I never expected him to just react like that. The pony stared at me through it mask with withered eyes. "I'm guessing you remembered huh?", I said with the Ghostface voice. I cautiously stepped away from the stallion, thoughts of what it could do filled my head. I never hesitate, so why now.
"You Mess up Master's plan. Who praytell are you. Who praytell are you. You poofed another. You poofed another. Why follow this one", It spoke with a soft echoing whisper. A whisper that seemed only to fall onto my ears. Taken abit back from it speaking I glanced over to Twilight who now, had a upward swirling patch of smoke on her face. The stallion cocked it's head slightly to one side before eerily looking back at Twilight. "I provide the Bio-Subject. Yes, I made sure Princess Friendship wasn't waking up while I provide the Bio-Subject", It spoke strangely again.
Provide Bio-Subject? Now I may not be from here but that doesn't sound right.
It whipped it's head back towards me. "Witnesses none. Master said. Witnesses none. Dispatch you this one will!", it said with a more eager speech. Now I know that doesn't sound good!
It began a charge before dissipating into smoke and swirling around me like a tornado.
"Oh shit!", I exclaimed as the floor beneath me left me. I was hovering over the crystal floor, the tornado was lifting me up. I flailed about while being lifted higher up. Soon the vortex of smoke serpantined around the room before erupting out the glassless window. The black and brown smoke cover much of my view, above and below. I had no clue as to where this fucker was taking me but my free ride came to an abrupted stop mid air as the smoke repulsed around me. Leaving me feets in the air. Pulmmeting down, I shrieked then I exclaimed in pain when the ground finally meet with me, mostly my face and chest. I swear I heard a crack!
The fall was survivable but not painless. I picked myself up from the dirt, pain shot through me as I felt like everything that kept me living left my body. Many seconds passed before I was able to breath and relax.
Until I saw a stream of smoke winding down a few feet in front of me before splashing onto the ground and reforming into the plague doctor again.
"This one didn't think, didn't think you would get up so fast. So fast", It sounded disappointed.
I pulled my knife out, holding it next to my head with the blade down. "This blades for you", I say with an extra sinister Ghostface voice.
"This one prefers you keep it!", it said boobing it's head erratically.
I spun the knife so the blade stood up and lunged.
