Silver and Gem's Hearths Warming Vacation
Chapter One: Cold Winter
“Mother, Father, I have...um…something important to tell you: I'm gay. Mirror Gem and I have been in a relationship for the previous seven months and I love Mirror Gem as much as I love the both of you. I hope that you can accept this, because this is the path I have chosen in my life.” Silver Spoon said with determination to her reflection in the mirror. But like the forty five previous attempts, this one felt hollow and unrealistic. Dismayed, Silver groaned as she sank into her hands resting in the bathroom counter.
She had been dating Mirror for seven months now, and in that time the duo had become very close. Mirror had even driven Silver to pluck up enough courage to tell her parents she was a nudist. Yet when it came to the big reveal of her sexual preference, that strength was all but wasted. It wasn't that Silver was sure she was gay, as she knew the male anatomy gave her no reaction. Yet she wasn't sure if Mirror was genuine. Diamond Tiara had so easily manipulated Silver’s feelings for her and in the end Silver had ended up being nothing more than a pawn in Diamond's schemes.
Now Mirror was not Diamond Tiara, not by a long shot. Diamond was always full of herself and always trying to have everything be perfect and the best. Mirror didn't have the same privileged lifestyle Silver had, her parents were hard working yet they barely seemed to scrape by. So the chance at having a well-endowed lover might be a huge boost for the family. And this was Silver's biggest concern.
However if this was true, Mirror hid it well. Diamond had always been so overt in her actions and emotions that even a blind person could see though the facade. She would always tempt her victims, promising them riches in return for support and admiration. Mirror was the opposite; she was supportive, funny, smart, and very kind.
And it was this very division between the two personalities that gave Silver these doubts. It was so drastic, so uneven, and so good it couldn't be true. And yet, Silver felt something she hadn't felt before. She didn't know what it was exactly yet it was an attraction, a bond with Mirror she had never had with anyone outside of her family. If she could get to the bottom of what this was, maybe she could figure out the truth of Mirror Gem. And maybe, come out to her parents.
A knock at her bathroom door broke Silver out of her concentration. “Madam is everything alright in there?” One of the maids asked.
Silver signed, “Yes Miss Honeywood everything's fine.”
“Oh okay, it’s almost time for school, the limo is waiting out front.” Miss Honeywood answered.
“Thanks I'll be down in a moment.” Silver answered. Then with a pluck of courage Silver grabbed her robe, covered her naked body, and headed out towards her room. Walking in, she quickly found her clothing and began to get dressed for school.
While her parents had accepted her nudist lifestyle, they weren't keen on having their sixteen year old daughter walk around the house naked. So the bathrobe was a nice compromise. Silver also was allowed privacy within her room and her personal maids had been used to seeing her naked before, whenever she had just showered or was getting dressed, so that was also a good compromise.
But there were times Silver did have to wear clothing, and school was one of them. Silver got out a large sweater and some heavy jeans to help shield her from the winter weather outside as well as her undergarments and thermals. When she was properly dressed, she topped it off with her heeled boots and headed downstairs. The house was completely decked from roof to basement in Hearth's Warming decorations, many of which gave off a warm golden glow as Silver descended the long stairwell that lead from the second floor to the main one of her mansion.
The mansion was nowhere near as massive or as lavish as the Rich family, but it was perfect for the Spoons and even better for Silver. While in the past she had never appreciated it, she had come to realize now that home was where the heart was. Mirror Gem might’ve brought that out, as she had lived in a small, four bedroom house out in the suburbs. Regardless, Silver made her way through the foyer and into the house proper. Her parents were long gone, as they both had to leave for work. Silver didn’t mind, the trio had spent the morning together for breakfast. And plus, Hearth’s Warming was her father’s busiest time of the year. As she walked out the front door, a sudden realization struck her. This would be the first Hearth’s Warming she wouldn’t spend with her family, as her Father and Mother had an important business trip to take care of overseas. She had planned initially on going with them, but now she wasn’t as sure as she wanted to spend a holiday with Mirror Gem.
Then again, Silver also didn’t exactly want to stick around. And the weather outside was why. Last week Canterlot and its suburb Ponyville got nailed with two blizzards in a row, leaving a good three feet of snow on the ground. Worse, a nor'easter was only a week away and was expected to drop another two feet. While most people around the area celebrated a white winter for Hearth’s Warming, which itself was due the weekend of the nor’easter, Silver Spoon never got along with snow. She didn’t hate it she just didn’t enjoy it at all. Regardless, she put on her heavy winter coat and walked down the front steps to the front walk way that lead to the waiting silver colored limousine.
Her driver, Lance, opened the door for her and she climbed in after giving him a warm thank you. In no time at all they were once again at Canterlot High.
“Would milady like me to be back here on the normal time?” Lance asked.
Silver smiled, “That would be wonderful Lance, thank you. Be Careful driving home okay?”
“I always am milady.” he answered as Silver exited the car with her backpack.
All bundled up like Eskimo, students of CHS made their way past snow mounds and over ice patches into the school. Silver closed the limo door and was soon swept up into them as she walked. There was a biting wind that blew through the front courtyard of Canterlot High, chilling all it touched. Silver shivered at the breeze but shouldered on, she knew the school would at least have its heat blasting. And sure enough she was right. Stepping through the threshold, she was instantly met with a rush of warm and welcoming heat. Stopping at the door to kick whatever snow or salt was clinging to her boots; Silver enjoyed the sudden rush of heat. Soon enough her boots were clean and she walked inside the school, making a note to take her massive jacket off.
“Good morning Silver!” Lily Rose greeted as Silver walked in.
Silver smiled before waving back, “Good morning Lily!”
“Good morning Silver Spoon!” Featherweight waved.
“Morning Feather,” Silver waved back.
“Hey Silver, good morning!” Liberty Belle shouted from across the hall.
Silver smiled and shouted back, “Hey Libby good morning!”
Before her membership in the NLAC, and before her redemption, a morning like this would never have happened. Silver would either be met with villainous glances or ignored entirely until she met Diamond Tiara before homeroom. But things were different now. While not every student that greeted her had attended the NLAC, which only had about a sixth of the student population as its actual membership, she had worked hard to rebuild her social status. And while she no longer was a journalist for the newspaper, she had made herself useful as treasurer of the NLAC and President of the School Physics club. That, plus genuine interest in bettering student affairs, had turned the once lackey into a shining beacon for the school’s student body.
There was a slight catch however: as far as everyone outside the officer roster of the NLAC was concerned Silver Spoon and Mirror Gem were just good friends. Regardless of whatever social status the student body perceived, Silver and Mirror’s closeness wasn’t a secret and so Silver looked for Mirror as she made her way towards her locker, still shivering slightly from the outside air.
“Hey,” Mirror called out, heading towards Silver.
Mirror was wearing a purple and black zip-up hoodie with her personal insignia; neon red, almost mirror like gem, emblazoned on the right shoulder of the hoodie. She also wore a pair of deep purple colored leggings that was speckled with dots of shimmery silver, which gave the appearance of a starry night. The whole outfit was completed with a pair of black and purple heeled boots. Simply put, she looked beautiful. Silver couldn’t help but smile as she saw Mirror come over. In her hand, she was carrying a medium sized, hot mocha frappe Starebucks coffee with a peppermint syrup shot.
“Hey yourself,” Silver retorted playfully. “How did you sleep? Still worried about the history test?”
Mirror shook her head no, “I slept as well as well as I could, but you know history isn’t really my thing.”
Silver smiled, “Yeah, same here. Though I don’t think we’re going to have to worry too much. With this storm on the way I think everyone’s going to be already set in vacation mode.”
“I hope you’re right,” Mirror said in between sips of her coffee. “Because I seriously am not good with historical dates. I mean, sure history repeats itself. But not to the exact letter! Do I really need to know when Equestria and Yakyakistan went through the cold war? Like it did any damage anyhow.”
“Eh, Father always told me ‘those who don’t know history are bound to repeat it,’” Silver sighed as she and Mirror reached her locker. Opening the locker and putting her heavy jacket and backpack inside, Silver pulled out her notebooks and shivered slightly, “Oh you would think with the way the heaters are going I’d be rid of this cold by now.”
“The school in general is cold,” Mirror pointed out, shoving her tattered backpack into the locker and grabbing her binder.
“I still don’t understand how you like it so much.” Silver said to her girlfriend.
“I think it’s because I like my sweaters so much,” giggled Mirror, draining the last of her coffee into her mouth.
Silver rolled her eyes as she closed her locker, “Well regardless, I’ll be glad when this snow is all melted. At least I know mother and father will be better off than I this Hearth’s Warming.”
“Why,” asked Mirror, giving Silver a quizzing glance. “I mean, are they going away?”
Silver nodded, “Father has a business trip to deal with over in Las Pegasus to attend to and Mother has a charity function in Matterhorn World. I was going to go with my mother but now things have changed.”
“Why? Are they upset with you or giving you some space?” Mirror asked. Glancing at the digital clock above their heads, she noted that it was eight twenty seven. “We should start heading to homeroom.”
Silver nodded and the two headed off towards homeroom. “No they do not want to give me space and they’re not mad. Really it’s more of me wanting to spend time with...well...” Silver blushed.
“Who? It can’t be me. Do they have someone in particular in mind? Don’t tell me they think that you and Diamond are still friends!”
“No they know her and I are long over. I told them I would like to spend the holiday with you…” Silver paused, “But they think that it’s more of the two of us spending time together as friends rather than what we...actually are.” Silver rubbed her shoulder, her insecurities about her relationship coming to the forefront.
“So? It’s not like anything crazy will go down. Besides, they must trust me enough to leave you with me for a few days.”
“Good point,” Silver sighed, “Say...are you going to be hanging out with your family for Hearth’s Warming?”
“Like I do every year. To be honest I wouldn’t mind spending the holidays away from them for once.” Mirror admitted.
Before Silver could respond to that, the homeroom bell rang and the two said their goodbyes, stealing a kiss when they thought no one was looking. As Silver sat in her homeroom class, a thought took her mind.
If Mirror doesn’t mind getting away, maybe we could get away from this snow to someplace warm for the holidays. She thought, And if I get her alone, maybe then I can figure out the truth about her, and if she’s really sincere with me.
With that, Silver Spoon began putting together an idea.
Silver and Gem's Hearths Warming Vacation
Silver's present to Mirror Gem
Chapter Two: Silver’s Present to Mirror Gem.
"Urgh,” Mirror Gem groaned as she slapped the snooze button on her alarm clock. This was far from normal for her on Saturday mornings. Usually she wouldn’t have gotten up until at least eleven, however today she was meant to meet up with Silver at nine forty five. She didn’t know why Silver wanted her over so early, but it didn’t matter Silver wanted her over so she was happy to oblige. Pulling herself out of bed wearily, she trudged up to her dresser where she had laid out her outfit before. Quick as a flash, she shed her pajamas and dressed, rushed down the stairs, heading towards the kitchen.
The house was still quiet as her younger brother Indigo Rush, who was five years younger than her, had yet to get up. As Mirror made her breakfast, she could hear her older brother Ice Shield was already up and about. Within a few minutes she had some toast and cream-cheese ready on a plate. Sipping her homemade coffee in between bites, she pulled out her phone, scrolling down through her messages.
“Well that’s nice,” she commented to herself dryly, texting furiously. “Now… Let’s see here… Ah, yes. Flaky Dough did say that she’d…” After quickly answering more text messages, Mirror set down her phone and finished eating, placing her plate into the sink and filled it with water. Grabbing her phone and mug of coffee, she went into the living room where her mother, Shimmering Lilac, was curled up on the couch reading a book.
“Hey Mom. I’m going out to Silver’s place for a bit. I’ll be back about eight? Or does Indigo need to be watched before then?”
“Sure. It’s perfect timing anyways. Ice Shield has an appointment at eight forty five anyways and I need to drive him there as I do have few errands to run. Indigo Rush will need to be watched,” Shimmering Lilac agreed.
“Fine. I’ll be home by eight fifteen then.” Mirror then walked to the front door, yanking her boots off of the shoe rack, slipping them on, and walking out of the house.
After living in the Ponyville suburbs for nine months, Mirror had now learned every corner and street in town. Trudging down the sidewalk, her mind wandered. Ever since she moved to Ponyville from Fillydelphia, Mirror had struggled. Not with friends or finding her place in the school, but with her discovering that she was a lesbian. Back in Fillydelphia, the best word anyone could ever describe Mirror to be was a bully. She had teased and cast out a few girls for it at her old school, primarily because it was the “cool thing to do.” So it was nothing but irony that she was ashamed of the fact that secretly she felt similar feelings about girls but would never admit to anyone. Then she found out about the NLAC and her life took a spin. She never thought herself as someone who’d be a nudist, but once she did discover that she was indeed a nudist, she found herself more willing to accept.
Mirror smiled to herself and shook her head, Wow, really? More willing to accept other people; that’s gotta be one of the cheesiest thing I’ve thought in a while.
Mirror’s feet turned left onto Oakwood Drive, the area for all the well-endowed families of Canterlot, and where Silver lived. As she walked up the street, Mirror’s feelings started to bubble up into butterflies. Although she had been dating Silver for nearly over eight months, Mirror always feared being rejected for another. Of course she knew it was irrational. While Silver appeared to be tough and uncaring, the truth was the opposite. This was what drew Mirror to Silver when she first met her. Regardless, she was scared that after she injected so much time, energy, and most importantly her feelings, her trust, and her loyalty, Silver would let her go simply because she wasn’t Canterlot elite.
She turned up to Silver’s driveway and her feelings became cemented. Unlike her family, which lived in a small four bedroom house, Silver lived in a large brick mansion. In fact Mirror figured she could probably fit her house inside of Silver’s living room, it was that big. And every time Mirror looked upon it, her heart sank slightly as she felt completely under classed. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Mirror headed up the driveway. Ignoring the path towards the front door, Mirror went to the side door. Lifting up the door knocker, she let it down twice in quick succession. Waiting patiently for someone to answer the door, she studied the knocker for about the millionth time.
It was a large platinum plated knocker that resembled the face of a lion roaring at some unseen prey. Despite the snow fall and the bitter cold weather of this winter, the metal had not lost any of its polish. After a moment or so, the door opened and the Spoon family’s head butler Colinsworth appeared at the door.
“Ahhh Madam Gem, a pleasure to see you here.” he said as he opened the door and stepped back to allow her entrance, “I trust the walk over here wasn’t too painful?”
“Not at all, thank you Colinsworth,” Mirror replied amiably, “Silver is in her room I’m guessing?”
“Indeed Madam she’s working on some physics homework, allow me to escort you to the foyer.” he nodded.
Mirror followed the butler to the foyer. Much like the rest of the house, the grand foyer was absolutely stunning, built with golden oak wood walls and ice white marble floors and steps. The railings were a nice shade of gold, though they actually were regular metal painted gold. And to top it all off was a large chandelier hanging in the center of the room going from the ceiling to just nine feet above the floor. Moreover, the house was lavish with Hearth’s Warming decorations and there was even a warm heat from a fire burning in the mansion’s fireplace. All in all, it gave the house a very luxurious feel. Colinsworth lead Mirror over to a small chair near the front door, to which she sat down gracefully.
As Mirror waited for Silver, she slipped out her phone from her sweater pocket, selecting the red and white icon. A few minutes later Silver came rushing down the elegant stairs.
“Hey Mirror,” Silver said running up to Mirror. She was dressed in a pair of black sweatpants and a mint green t-shirt, without shoes or socks on, “Glad to see you made it here okay?”
“Yeah, it was a bit chilly but not so bad. So, are we going to the game room?” Mirror swept her hair into a ponytail, tying it with a band that was around her wrist.
Silver chuckled, “Sorry but the staff is cleaning it up. My room is available though.”
“Sounds like a plan to me,” agreed Mirror, standing up as she stowed her phone back into her pocket.
Silver smiled and nodded, “Alrighty then, follow me.”
Mirror followed Silver up the stairs and into a hallway that was paneled with wood. Turning right at the split in the hallway, Silver led Mirror to a dead end with only a single door that was painted silver had had Silver’s cutie mark on it. Turning the doorknob the duo stepped into Silver’s room. Compared to Mirror’s room, which had enough room for one comfortably, Silver had an entire floor to herself. The centerpiece was a canopy bed that could fit three people. There was a plasma TV on one wall, while the other three were decorated with posters, pictures, and clippings from past news articles Silver had once wrote for. There were also hooks on the walls that had items such as clothes, paintings, and fancy boxes on them. The fancy boxes were upside down and had a handful of dolls on them as well as little trinkets. There was also shelves and cubbies built into the walls, causing Silver’s room, as big as it is, to feel very cozy in its own way. However, none of it took away from the sheer size of the room. At the far side of the room, was a large window that looked out over the spacious backyard gardens of the Spoon household.
Silver closed the door behind them as they walked in, “Mother’s away at work right now and Father’s in the downstairs study, so we shouldn’t be bothered until dinner time.”
“Okay, do you have the RISK game in here, like we planned?” Mirror sent a questioning look at Silver.
Silver smiled, “I brought it up don’t worry, I’ll leave you to get comfortable while I set up the table. Would you like a window seat?”
“I don’t care as long as the words on the board are facing me. I hate reading upside down words. Oh, and I’m slipping out of my clothes, that alright?”
“I figured you would, since I hoped you’d get comfortable.” Silver giggled walking over to her closet, “You can just leave them by the bed I think Honeywood left a hamper there. I’ll join you in a moment.”
“Alright then.” Mirror shed her clothes and folded them with careful precision and left them at the side of Silver’s bed. By that time, Silver had finished setting up the table by the large window. “I’ll set up,” offered Mirror.
“Thank you kindly,” Silver smiled, “I’m a little hungry you want something to eat?”
Mirror shrugged as she unfolded the board. “Chips and salsa sound good to me. And since it gets you thirsty, perhaps some of that Snapple you keep on talking about?” Grabbing the blue, black and green colored pieces in their clear, plastic boxes, she set them by the window seat.
Silver nodded and walked over to an intercom she had set up near her front door, “Miss Honeywood?”
“Yes dearie?” came the answer.
“Can you bring up a large bowl of chips and some salsa dip with that please?” Silver asked.
“Of course dearie, anything to drink?” Miss Honeywood asked.
“Two glasses of Half and Half please,” Silver answered, “And take care when entering alright?”
“I will ma’am; of course they’ll be up momentarily.” Miss Honeywood answered.
Silver smiled and walked over to her bed. “So you’d get all your homework done?” she asked as she pulled off her shirt.
“No, I still have that English paper to do, but it’s easy, I’ll do it later.” Mirrors took the gray, yellow and red pieces and set it by Silver’s seat, then proceed to divvy up the cards.
Silver slid out of her pants leaving her as naked as the day she was born and walked over to the table, “Yeah but isn’t that due until the week after next?”
“Sure, but I’d rather just be done with the stupid thing. ‘Ten Top Reasons to use a Semicolon’, I mean really!” Sitting down, Mirror started to organize her cards.
Silver sat across from Mirror and began to organize her own cards, “Well I think you needn't worry, what with this nor’easter coming I think school’s gonna be postponed until next February.”
“That’s going to leave a mark,” groaned Mirror. “Extended school days, here we come.”
“Oh honey it won’t be too bad,” Silver said sweetly, “Especially since it is the holidays. As much as I hate snow, I’ll at least be glad that I’ll have a proper vacation finally. Diamond never let me have a free week back when she and I were friends. I’m thinking of going traveling.” Silver then arraigned her pieces in the northern parts of Yakyakistan.
“Pity,” commented Mirror, placing half of her pieces on Canterlot and Manehattan. The other half went into pairs, going all across the globe. “But that sounds awesome! Where would you travel?”
Silver was about to answer when Miss Honeywood walked in holding a large bowl of chips along with a smaller bowl of salsa. She placed them on the table next to the board game and smiled at both girls, “You’re drinks will be up momentarily, are you two girls comfortable?”
Silver nodded, “Yes Miss Honeywood.”
“Thanks,” pipped Mirror. As Miss Honeywood departed, Mirror turned back to Silver and asked, “So? Where would you travel?”
Silver shifted and blushed, “Well I found this nudist resort in Blacksburg, Catawba, which is significantly south of here.”
“That sounds warm,” sighed Mirror, longing evident in her voice. “And does it allow under ages?” Grabbing the three red dice, Mirror pointed from Canterlot to Harmelozan, a main city in Yakkyakkanstan.
“Well yes and no, they do allow families at the resort. But Mother and Father have business in Los Pegasus so I’ll be going alone.” Silver responded reacting accordingly. Once again before someone could respond Miss Honeywood entered with this drinks although this time she said nothing as she placed them for Silver and Mirror respectively before leaving.
“Two off you,” Mirror said casually. “Is that allowed for you to go all alone? Oh and attacking same.”
“Defending,” Silver answered, “And I can get in without a problem, you won’t believe how hard it is to forge credentials these days.”
“Hard or easy,” laughed Mirror. “Split, by the way. Um… Isn’t that in-of-itself illegal? Ya know, to forge the credentials?”
“I believe it is, but that is the benefits of family and friends in power.” Silver sighed. She then took the respective pieces off, “I was wondering though….”
“Wondering about what?” Dipping her chip into the salsa, Mirror took an appreciative bite.
“I know you would like to spend Hearth's warming with your family, but...would you like to come with me?” Silver asked cutely and blushed.
“I mean, I can’t deny it’d be hard being out for Hearth’s Warming, but… Yes, I’d love to! Oh, and two off you.” Mirror took a sip of her Half and Half.
Silver feigned surprise, “Oh damn, looks like you won.” Then she took a bit of a chip, “You sure you wanna come, it is a bit out in the countryside.”
“Sure, I don’t see why not.” Taking three chips, she scooped salsa onto them. “So what’s there exactly,” she mumbled around a full mouth.
“Nice of you to ask, I’ve got a brochure right over here.” Silver smiled and got up to head over to her bed. She leapt onto her bed, a memory foam mattress, and crawled up to the pillows before pulling out a brochure, “come see!”
Walking over to sit on Silver’s bed, Mirror laughed. “You seem really excited about it.”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Silver asked as she crawled over to Mirror.
“Well, it’s a bit hard to get you this excited,” giggled Mirror. “What are you looking so much forward to?”
Silver answered by placing her lips onto Mirror’s.
Pulling back after a few seconds, Mirror smiled. “Well that explains it. So, I want to know everything about it!”
Silver smiled, “Well first there's a wonderful hiking trail that takes us through a forest. They’ve also got a very large outdoor pool, a moderately sized indoor pool, and three Jacuzzi’s.”
“That sounds awesome. So when do we go?” Mirror by now had emptied out the chip bowl and was sipping on her Half and Half.
“Well I wasn’t done yet, they also have a basketball, volleyball, and a tennis court for you to play to your heart’s content. Cabins with indoor plumbing, and even a game room.” Silver answered, “I plan on leaving this Monday.”
“Sounds brilliant. I’d love to go swimming the outdoors… So I’m coming, right?”
Silver raised an eyebrow, “Why, think I’ll leave you behind?”
“No, just double checking, you know how I am,” Mirror laughed. “So what’s needed for me to pack? Like, do I need to bring clothes at all besides for going there and coming back?”
“That’ll be up if you want to travel outside the resort.” Silver answered, “But I don’t plan on doing so. Plus I don’t think I’ll be able to forge a driver’s license to rent a car.”
“No, I wouldn’t think so either. So… light packing. That’s good. Oh, are bathing suits required?”
“It is clothing optional, but knowing you…” Silver giggled.
“Why bother? I’m going to pack a bikini; I can’t stand water without a bathing suit. One of my quirks I suppose,” Mirror said.
“Well if that’s the case, I really am not comfortable playing sports without some pants on, so I guess I’ll bring some sports pants.” Silver answered, “As well as my backup glasses.”
“See? Everyone must have one thing where they will always wear clothes for.” Mirror drained the last of her Half and Half, setting down the glass.
Silver took a drink of her own glass of half and half, “By the way, I know Mother and Father will be alright with me going. What about your family?”
Mirror shrugged. “I haven’t told them you know. I guess I’ll just tell them it’s a winter resort and I’m going with you.”
Silver sighed, “Well, I...uh...okay,”
“What’s wrong,” Mirror asked, butterflies bubbling up in her stomach.
Silver sighed, “I….I still haven’t told them yet.”
“About us? It’s fine. I’m your best friend to them,” pointed out Mirror. “Just tell them that I was at a NLAC party and I wanted to come. If they ask about my parents… Well, they won’t check in, would they?”
“I doubt they will, why do you ask?” Silver asked.
“Because then you can just say that you think I told them… I know you don’t like lying but… I’m not ready. Only Ice Shield knows and even then that was an awkward conversation.” Mirror sighed and shook her head. “My parents wouldn’t like that I’m a nudist.”
Silver sighed, “I see, well we needn’t worry, I’m sure they’ll accept your reason. I intend to be out of here by 9 a.m. sharp so don’t be late or I’ll leave you be. And then you won't be able to enjoy all the amenities of this place.”
“Oh please,” Mirror rolled her eyes. “Yes I’ll be here on time. I probably won’t be able to stay asleep anyways.”
“Good,” Silver smiled as she snuggled up to Mirror Gem, “I’m glad you’re coming.”
Mirror replied with a kiss. Then she pulled back and glanced at Silver’s clock. “It’s getting close to six forty five. I’m going to get dressed for dinner.”
Silver pouted, “Stay with me, for a bit longer please? I’ll have Lance drive you home…”
“Sorry sweetheart, but I’ve got to watch Indigo Rush. It’s nearly a half of an hour’s worth of walking. And I would like to eat before I’ve got to watch the squirt.” Mirror’s amber eyes reflected her sadness.
Silver then pulled Mirror Gem into a loving embrace, locking their lips. Mirror felt the warmth of Silver’s body integrate with hers as they lay there making out. Despite all her butterflies, Mirror felt comfortable whenever Silver held her close. Then after a moment, Silver released, “Alright, but I’ll have Lance take you home anyway.”
“Naw, its fine. I’d rather walk anyways. You know burn the weight I’m meant to.” Slipping into her clothes, Mirror glanced at Silver. “Besides, the cold air helps me think. I really need to compose that English essay.”
Silver nodded and kissed Mirror again, “Alright, and get back to me soon about the trip okay?”
“Alright. I’ll text you.” Letting herself out of Silver’s bedroom and down the stairs to the foyer she realized that the RISK game was still upstairs to be cleaned. Then she shook her head. Miss Honeywood would probably clean it up. Colinsworth was dusting the mantle of the fireplace.
“Ah Miss Gem are you on your way out?” he asked.
“Yes, I’ll let myself out,” Mirror asked the butler.
“Very well ma’am, the front entrance is ice free.” He responded with a smile.
“Thank you.” Mirror walked out into the cold and towards home.
Silver and Gem's Hearths Warming Vacation
Chapter 3: Flying down
Silver Spoon waited near her family’s private jet, a comfortable twin engine turbo jet that her Father often used for short ranged travel. Her Mother and Father had already left in the business jet an hour ago and now she was waiting around for Mirror’s taxi to arrive. And Mirror was an hour late. As she waited in the cold air, Silver’s mind raced. Mirror was late, and furthermore she hadn’t given a proper answer as to whether she was going or not.
Normally Mirror wasn’t exactly clear on details regardless of the situation, but this was different. Silver had to know if Mirror was coming, she had to make sure her plan was working. Otherwise, the possibility existed that Mirror wasn’t up to par. Regardless of this rinkle, Silver was proud of everything else. She had managed to book a reservation at the Resort, aptly named Lunar Skies paradise resort, and the threat of the nor’easter had shut the entire school district down until January the 11th. So if nothing else, Silver had at least a week to get away from everything.
But whether she was going to get away from it all with Mirror was another story. Last time they hung out, Mirror seemed slightly distant but Silver chopped that up to Mirror being distracted with her english paper. Still a week away with her girlfriend, especially during Hearth’s Warming. If nothing else…
A hard gust of ice cold wind blew across the bundled up Silver as she stood on the tarmac, forcing her to visibly shake. Her pilot noticed her discomfort, “Ma’am if you wish you may step inside and I’ll close the door. You’ll be warmer in there.”
“Thank you Harold,” Silver answered, “But I’ll wait a little while longer. How much more time do we have before this monster arrives?”
“Another hour or so before we’re grounded for the next five days.” Harold responded.
And that was a bad omen too, as dark foreboding clouds loomed on the horizon to the north. Silver grew worried, “Maybe she’s not coming. I knew it…”
Just then a car horn drew her attention. And a yellow taxi raced up to the plane.
Mirror stepped out looking like a complete mess, her ponytail had stray strands of hair coming out of it. “So sorry! I only just managed to get out of the house. It’s a bit crazy there right now. I’m so, so, so sorry!” For once, Mirror’s amber eyes looked slightly crazed, alit with panic.
Silver sighed, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, “Well the important thing is you made it.”
“Yeah. I only have… This one… Suitcase,” panted Mirror, heaving it out of the taxi. “Why don’t we board before it’s too late?”
Silver giggled, “Alright let’s climb aboard.”
“And not a moment too soon,” Harold said coming down to pick up Mirror’s suitcase.
“Thanks. Again I’m so sorry!” Mirror followed Silver up onto the plane.
Silver smiled, “I’m just glad you’re here.” She then presented the interior of the private plane. It was nothing special just a lavish white interior with two swivel chairs opposite a small table and a circular lounge couch near the rear of the plane. It also came equipped with a lavatory and a small bathroom with a shower. Silver turned to her friend as Harold’s copilot closed the door, “So what kept you?”
“I’ll tell you once we’re off the ground,” dodged Mirror, taking a brush out of the small backpack she had brought onto the plane with her. Brushing her hair, she looked at Silver. “I thought you were going to leave without me,” she admitted.
“Well the weather was looking a bit serious,” Silver admitted as she sat down in a chair. The engines of the plane began to whine loudly as the pilots prepared for taxi, “But I wasn’t going to leave until I was sure there was no hope for you.”
“Thanks for that,” Mirror replied, a bit distracted as she pulled her hair into a fresh, new, nearly perfect ponytail.
“No problem, you might wanna sit down we’re taxing to the runway.” Silver answered.
As if on cue, Harold chimed in from the cockpit, “Attention passengers I have now received clearance for take off. Please strap yourselves in.”
Silver nodded, sat down at one of the chairs in front of the table, and buckled up, “Come on dear you’d best sit.”
Mirror nodded and slid into her seat opposite Silver. “Does this plane have WiFi? I know, I’m sorry, you and me time. It’s just that I do have one thing I’ve got to do before I turn off my phone.”
Silver nodded, “Don’t worry we do, just don’t use it until Harold gives us clearance to do so.”
“I know. I’m waiting for when we’re in the all clear. So this flight is how long? An hour? Forty five minutes?”
Silver looked towards the cockpit as the plane turned onto the ramp, “Harold’s usually good at making time and plus we’ve got a tail wind so it should be a good hour before we land.”
“Oh, good.” Mirror sounded relieved. Then she sighed. “Silver… Has Diamond contacted you recently?”
Silver leaned back, giving Mirror a quizzical look. Why would she care so much about Diamond? Silver though, “Not recently, why?”
Mirror shrugged. “Just wondering.”
“Why, you think she’ll capture pictures of us once we get to the airport down in Blacksburg.” Silver asked.
“No, I was just wondering.”
Silver smirked as the plane rocketed down the runway, “Don’t worry Mirror, Diamond’s held up on some stupid safari trip out in Zebraca. When she goes out there she’s unreachable for the next month. I think she has some boy toy out there she goes to ride when she’s feeling lonely.”
Mirror shook her head. “I pity that poor boy… Anyways, have you seen the CMC recently? I mean, I haven’t and it’s a bit odd. Like, I’ll always see them walking past or something.”
“I think they’re hunkering down for the snow.” Silver answered. Just then the plane nosed up and lifted sharply off the runway. Silver felt the g-force nearly pull her out of her chair as the plane sharpy rose up and then banked right. Her heart nearly jumped into her throat but she soon settled down as she felt the landing gear lift up.
“And we are airborne,” Harold said, “Sorry about the sharpness but tower wanted us off the runway quickly.”
“No problem Harold,” Silver sighed. Then she looked back at Mirror, who seemed comfortable, “Well it seems that we’re airborne. You wanna tell me why you were late?”
“My parents told me no,” Mirror replied with a sigh of her own. “So I snuck off. They wanted me home because my grandparents, both sets mind you, are coming in. And they don’t… Get along. So here I am! And it’s not even like I came to get out of it. I found out yesterday that they were coming. And I was joining you no matter what anyhow.”
Silver looked at Mirror with slight shock on her face. Either one of two things were happening, either Mirror was lying and trying to create a sympathetic story to get Silver’s trust and favor. Or Mirror was telling the truth and doing something no other person had ever done for Silver. While her head wanted to believe the former, her heart clung hard to the latter and that made her cheeks go red. She sighed slightly, “Thanks Mirror.”
Mirror replied with a small grin. “No problem.”
A warm smile flashed over Silver’s face, “So I take it they didn’t buy your cover story, or did you tell them the truth?”
“I told them that it was just a winter resort. They didn’t want me without any adults and wanted my grandparents to see me. So yes, they didn’t buy the cover story as well as the whole grandparent thing.”
Silver giggled as the plane continued to climb, “Well you got Ice covering for you?”
“Yeah. He’s a great older brother.” Mirror looked out her window.
Silver grimaced, “I got that read when I met him.”
A moment later, Harold evened the climb out from a sharp climb to one more gentle, “Attention madam and Mirror, we’ve reached a comfortable altitude so I’m evening out the climb. With that I now have turned off the seatbelt sign you are now free to roam about the cabin. Also Wifi is now available to all those who need it.”
Mirror quickly whipped out her phone and texted her parents a quick ‘sorry’ and her older brother a short ‘thank you’. “So,” she said to Silver, shutting off her phone. “What are going to do to cover up about an hour and a half of time?”
Silver sighed as she leaned back in her chair, “I haven’t the slightest idea.”
“So no board games… I did bring a travel sized scrabble, but we should use a hard surface. I mean, if you want to play scrabble.”
Silver sighed, Mirror did always seem to enjoy playing board games. And usually Silver would jump at the opportunity, but right now she wasn’t that keen on doing so. Really she just wanted to relax, and she was sure that Mirror felt the same, “I’m not really in the mood honey, what about we watch some TV until I feel up to it?”
“Sure. You can pick the show. It’s your plane after all.”
Silver smiled as she got up, pulled off her heavy coat and left in on the chair, and walked over to the circular couch to sit down. She pulled out the remote and turned the TV on, “Okay then, but I do have a request. Come snuggle?” She wasn’t sure if she was asking as a test, or if she genuinely asking. Either way, she wanted Mirror’s closeness.
“Sure,” smiled Mirror. “I’ll just get my Finding Nemo blanket.”
“You packed that thing?” Silver giggled, “Such a nerd.”
“Hey, childhood memories here,” retorted Mirror, giggling herself as she grabbed her warm, fuzzy blanket. “Besides,” she said, sitting down, throwing the blanket over them, “it was a gift from Ice Shield. My only gift of when he went to Matterhorn Land.”
Silver snuggled close with Mirror as they both lay under the blanket, “My first gift from Matterhorn was a pair of black mouse ears. Still think I have those things.”
Snuggling back, Mirror laughed softly. “I think you’d look adorkable in ‘those things’. Now what are we watching? Anything but zombie movies. I can’t stand blood,” she shuddered.
“Oh wonderful, because I think I just found a good TV series we can watch. How about Orleans?”
“No idea what that is. Sure! Let’s watch it,” giggled Mirror, snuggling closer to Silver.
Silver wrapped her arm around Mirror and pulled her close, “Okay.” And there the two sat, wrapped up in each other’s warm as the plane flew on its journey. All the while Silver wondered about Mirror. She was so affectionate and so passionate, was she really so fake? Silver couldn’t be sure right now, but she knew that the resort would help her figure it out for sure. She turned to Mirror, who seemed to be very comfortable and nearly asleep. Mirror looked so cute and comfortable lying on Silver, it was almost as if she was a plushie Silver was holding to keep herself company in the most darkest of nights.
Kissing Mirror on the head Silver whispered, “I love you Mirror.”
* * *
About an hour later, the plane landed safely in the southern state of Equestria, and Silver and Mirror disembarked to a radically different climate. Canterlot, and by extension Ponyville, was bitter cold and frigid. Blacksburg on the other hand was warm and humid. Thankfully both Silver and Mirror had light clothes under their winter gear, so there was no problem. The personal car Silver had arranged picked them up at the airport and drove them towards the resort. And true to Silver’s word, this place was out in the country.
The car would exit one town, and into field after field of open grass or corn fields. Silver was actually shocked herself how far out of town they had been. But she was doing this for the betterment of herself and her relationship with Mirror. Mirror herself was wondering just how it was so warm here. She knew there were places like this, but never visited them. So this was a new adjustment. She stole a look at Silver, who seemed to be gazing off. Her butterflies came back, bubbling up from minor to major. Mirror knew that Silver had to be genuine, but her mind wouldn’t quite telling her there was something off. Mirror had always followed her heart, but this thought was reconstructing again and again. Wasn’t that a sign that she should listen? But what would that mean for her relationship with Silver, all that possible wasted time, energy and feelings. The sacrifices she had made and the connections she forged, the status she had taken.
Soon enough the car turned off the main road and onto a side road that lead through a forest. Both Silver and Mirror seemed off put by the ominous, almost scary scene. But soon enough the forest cleared and they reached the front gates. A large sign saying “Lunar Skies Resort.” greeted them there.
Silver turned to Mirror and reached into her pocket, “Here take this.”
“Why? What is it,” Mirror asked Silver.
“Our forged ID cards.” Silver answered pulling out two cards.
“Oh, right. That.” Mirror couldn’t help but have her disappointment show, she hated the fact that they had to lie in order to get in, but more than that she didn’t like lying to the authorities and definitely when they could potentially be put in juvenile jail. Reaching out her aqua colored hand, Mirror accepted her false ID.
“I hope you like the name I picked for you,” Silver told Mirror.
Mirror looked down and studied her fake ID card. Her name was now Melody Gold, age eighteen and seven months. A plastic strip ran across the back of the card along with a barcode and a series of numbers. For all intensive purposes it looked like a real ID.
“So what’s your new name and age,” Mirror asked. “I love mine, so yours must be really good! Are you also eighteen?”
“Shining Star,” Silver Spoon answered, “Eighteen and three months.”
“You made me older than you,” commented Mirror drily. “I mean it doesn’t make sense since you look older then me.” Raising one eyebrow high up to her forehead, Mirror stared at Silver quizzically.
“Well only by a few months nothing to fear.” Silver said as she reached behind her head and pulled out the pins in her famous braided ponytail. Her long silver hair finally flowing free, Silver shook her head a bit to free all of the once braided hair, “I’m also going to keep my hair down for this place.”
The driver turned back to the girls, “Ladies we’ve reached the gate.”
Silver nodded, “Very well you may take us in at your leisure.”
The driver nodded and the car drove up towards the gate. In no time it opened up and revealed the resort inside. As the car drove down the gravel road towards the office building, both Mirror and Silver got a good look at the resort. While it looked very modern it still carried the rural camp feel Silver had hoped this place would be. But what took her by surprise was the sight of a large indoor club that was situated right next to the pool.
“Do you think I should take down my hair? I mean, your hair is really pretty down, but should I take mine down? You know, to do away with the normal routine?” Mirror asked.
Silver looked her girlfriend over, “Your call really, I think you look pretty either way.”
“I think I’ll take it down, I normally have it up to cool off anyways,” Mirror explained.
Silver giggled as the car drove up to the front office building, “Mirror I feel I should remind you we’re going to be naked for about a week, I don’t think we need to worry about tying our hair up to keep cool.”
As if to accentuate her point, a naked couple exited the office building and climbed into a golf cart parked onto the side of the building. Silver flashed Mirror a smile as she exited the car, “Come on Melody, time to check in.”
Shaking her head, Mirror let down her hair and followed Silver, or Shining as she was now known as. As they jogged up the front steps and into the lobby. A staff member was seated behind a large desk that nearly reached Silver’s and Melody’s shoulders.
When she spotted the duo she gave a warm smile, “Welcome to Lunar Skies, are you two checking in?”
Silver nodded, “Yes we are, we have a reservation.”
“I see, under what name?” she answered.
“Gold and Star,” Silver responded.
The girl nodded and went silent for a moment. Mirror took the opportunity to look around. She then noticed a map of the facility plastered on the wall behind the desk. The complex looked like it was built in the shape of a wheel with the club and pool complex in the center. To the north was the forest trails as well as the camping center that led to a distant river. To the west was the sports complexes. And to the east was the many cabins and rooms for the guests to stay as well as homes for those who lived here for the rest of their lives.
Mirror leaned over to Silver, “This seems rather big. Anyways where are we living for the next week?”
The woman answered, “You two look like you both have a reservation for a room. That’ll be over in our residential area and don’t worry it has a built in bathroom and shower.”
“That’s fine, thank you.” Silver said, “Anything else you need?”
“Yes your ID’s please.” she asked.
Mirror and Silver handed over their ID’s to which the woman reviewed them. A moment later she handed them back and smiled, “Okay Miss Gold and Miss Star we hope you enjoy your stay here.” They both nodded and turned to leave when the woman stood up, “Would you like one of our camp aids to take you over to your cabin?”
“That’d be wonderful thank you.” Silver answered, “We’ve got luggage will that be a problem?”
“Not at all, our carts can carry them.” She responded.
Silver opened the door for Mirror and they exited, “Alrighty then, so far so good.”
“Yes. By the way I was wondering, Shining if we could go swimming first? You know, after we unpack?” Mirror put heavy emphasis on Shining, trying to ask Silver if they should talk to each other with their false names. Not only that, but she really did want to swim first.
And Silver understood why. The sun was rather intense and the humidity was already making the duo sweat as they transferred their luggage from the car to a golf cart. Plus she was almost sure of her plan, use the fake names while they were out in public yet once they were in private they could use their real names.
“That's not a bad idea Melody,” Silver answered, “Though I would like to walk around this place at some point.”
“So would I,” agreed Mirror, “but I’ve been dying to swimming since summer vacation ended. You know how I am… I take to the water like a fish.”
“Yet you’re not keen on swimming without trunks?” Silver teased.
“Oh please,” Mirror said, rolling her eyes. “I can’t stand feeling the water rushing around… Certain areas. Besides, I like wearing bikinis.”
“Well you always make bikini’s look good. I’m just gonna find it funny that you’ll be wearing clothes at a nudist resort.” Silver smiled, reaching her arm around Mirror’s shoulders, “That’ll be one for the books.”
“Fine, laugh it up all you like,” Mirror retorted playfully. “I can always take it off if I want to.”
“Well no one here would think little of you if you intend to do otherwise,” A voice said from behind the building. Silver and Mirror turned to see a tall man with brown skin and a bald head walking up. And much like all the other residents here except for the two girls, he was naked. “I take it you two are our new arrivals? Please to meet you I’m Terran Wolf,” he introduced.
Mirror blinked, then quickly replied, “Hi I’m Mi...Melody Gold and this is Shining Star.” Gesturing to Silver, Terran Wolf nodded.
“Um….yes!” Silver said, “pleasure to meet you.”
“Are you two staying in a cabin?” Terran asked.
Silver nodded, “Yes, I believe she gave us Cabin one.”
Terran nodded, “No problem, hop on and I’ll take you over. Would you two like the guided tour after you unpack?”
“No, thank you though,” Mirror quickly replied. “We were thinking of going swimming in the outdoor pool after we unpack. It’s rather hot today, so it’ll be great to cool off.”
Terran nodded, “No problem.” He then looked over the girls luggage, which was resting on the back of the golf cart, “This is yours?”
Silver nodded, “Yessir,”
“Alright hop in ladies.” he smiled and climbed in, “I can fit you both up front.”
Silver and Mirror nodded and hopped in. A moment later Terran started the cart and they were off.
“So… What sort of rules are there, in specifics for the nature walks,” Mirror asked.
“Well let me answer that question with one of my own,” Terran nodded, “Have you two ever been to a nudist resort before?”
“Not really,” Silver answered, “But we frequent nudist parties at home.”
“Okay well I’m sure you’re aware of the basic rules regarding Naturism so I don’t think I need to repeat. To answer your question Melody, rule number one on the nature walk is stay close to the trail, we wouldn’t want you wandering off into the woods and getting lost.” Terran answered, “Second rule is, try not to feed or interact with the local wildlife, they may look cute but some creatures can be deadly.”
“That I know,” commented Mirror dryly. “My little brother could vouch for that.”
Silver glanced over at Mirror and leaned in towards her ear, “I didn’t know that.”
“Know what,” whispered Mirror back.
“You’re younger brother was attacked by wildlife.” Silver responded.
“No, no, no. It was a joke, ya ding-dong,” laughed Mirror good naturedly. “I was saying that my Indigo Rush is the cute but deadly animal.” Then Mirror burst out into a fit of giggles. “Oh stardust, you didn’t really think?” Then Mirror laughed again.
Silver Spoon blushed, “Oh sorry.”
Terran pretended not to notice, “So what brought you two here?”
Silver composed herself and shifted her glasses, “Well bad winter weather back home.”
“Ah, snowbirds. Well any reason is a good reason in my book!” Terran laughed as he turned a corner.
Silver nodded quietly as she looked around from the center seat. The cabins and houses were all one story and a little small to her eyes. Then again she was always used to mansions, so anything smaller than a three story house was going to be tiny for her. Yet, for all their lack of size, she found the houses very...homey and relaxing. Maybe this was what it was like for those without millions of bits to their name. She then looked over at Mirror, wondering if she felt the same.
Mirror was in awe of the fact that the cabins were so big. Now, it wasn’t that they were big, as houses they would be cramp. But this was perfect sized. The buildings though were surrounded by nudist, all wearing their birthday-suits. Not surprising to as the day was beautiful, people couldn’t be asked to avoid a day like this. While she had been expecting it, she was shocked at just how comfortable they looked. Yet she felt like the odd one out, wearing her clothes and all. So she was relieved to reach Cabin One.
“Here you girls go,” Terran said warmly.
Silver smiled as she looked at the Cabin. Much like the rest of the cabins it was rather small, having only one window to it’s credit. The front door even had a set of wooden steps leading up to it. The color was also very plain, a simple greyish white color with nothing specific to it’s name. Yet, for the next couple of days, this was going to be where she and Mirror stayed. But what was even more surprising was where Cabin one was placed: it was right next to the border of the resort, and it looked out into a very vast and thick forest.
“Thank you Terran,” Silver answered sincerely.
“You two are welcome,” he said, handing over two keys to the cabin, both were thankfully attached to stretchy-bands, “Here are your keys, keep them with you at all times. Do you need help carrying your luggage up?”
“No, I think we’re good, right Shining?”
Silver nodded, “Thank you Terran, I hope we’ll see you around here.”
“Oh I’m sure you will, I’m the camp’s maintenance man. I’m one of the most visible people here.” he smiled.
Silver giggled and pulled the girls luggage off the cart, “Well that’ll be good to know.”
With that Terran sped off.
Waving goodbye to Terran, Mirror sighed, “Come on, let’s go get unpacked. I cannot wait to jump into the pool.”
Silver rolled her eyes with a smile. Part of her was cautious about Mirror’s sudden urge to be in the pool, as it was probably the most populated area today. But Mirror did have a point, it was hot and she loved the water. So with a smile, she lifted her two cases of luggage and walked up the steps. Mirror, having only one case of luggage, used her free hand to unlock the cabin for the duo. When they walked in, they entered into a small front foyer that actually had two doors for it. The door on their left had the number two on it, while the right one had the number one.
“Oh it’s actually two cabins,” Silver commented, “Didn’t know that. Well let’s take a look at room one.”
Mirror nodded. “You really don’t mind swimming first?”
Silver shook her head, “But like I said, at some point I wouldn’t mind looking around this place.”
Nodding her head in agreement, Mirror went and unlocked the rooms door. When the duo walked in, they were instantly greeted with the sight of a small refrigerator located near the door. Thankful the fridge was far enough back from the door’s swing as to not get in the way. Walking in, Silver and Mirror looked over the room. It was a small room, no bigger than the living room in Mirror’s house or the study in Silver’s mansion. The walls were made of a thick mahogany wood which was accented with one picture of a setting sun over a lake. In the far back on the right side of the girls was a door that lead to the bathroom, which Silver had the best view of. It had a large sit down tub, small sink, and decent sized toilet. The room looked very clean with it’s aqua blue walls that almost matched Mirror’s skin color.
Shifting her gaze back into the room, Silver saw a small TV set placed on the wall next to them. Beneath the TV was a small couch able to fit one person. Next to that was a small coffee table, complete with a k-cup brewer and a full set list of k-cups to create coffee. But there was one, very shocking thing about the room. It was dominated by one large, king sized bed.
“Wow… One bed. Should we check the other room,” asked Mirror, amber eyes slightly round.
Silver’s eyes were equally wide, “Uh...I’m not really sure. I mean…” Silver was slightly flabbergasted at the situation, “I mean….it would be rude to ask.
“Would it? I doubt they’d want the two of us sleeping in the same bed if we don’t want to,” pointed out Mirror. “You payed, so you get to ask. It’s not a demand, it’s question.”
Silver looked over at Mirror, “While I’m not saying you’re wrong, I do wonder...if they don’t have another...would you...you know?”
Mirror gazed blankly at a very flustered Silver. “What?”
Silver stammered, her face turning red slightly, “Share...the...bed…?”
“Share the bed,” repeated Mirror, finally dawning upon her why Silver was so flustered. “I suppose we could. Good thing we both packed PJ’s, huh?” Mirror herself though felt extremely awkward and wished Silver hadn’t implied what Mirror thought she did.
Silver rubbed her shoulder, “Uhh...well i kinda...didn’t. Nudist resort and all, I wanted to be in the spirit of things.”
“Oh… I did.” Mirror had packed a few extra things just in case, and she was fortunate she was such a good packer or else she may had needed to bring another suitcase with her.
Silver rubbed her shoulder, “Well there is the couch there, if you would like to take it, I’m sure that’ll be okay.” Silver pouted slightly.
“And, may I ask, why I’m the one taking the couch? Why can’t we switch on and off,” Mirror asked, although she knew what the answer would be.
Silver shook her hands defensively, “Oh no, no I wouldn’t mind switching….It’s just I guessed that if we were going to spend this time together...we would… you know...sleep together. Not doing anything naughty! But…I thought we could...snuggle each other to sleep like real couples.” She rubbed her right arm again and turned away from Mirror, her face now beat red, “But if you’re uncomfortable I understand, I don’t want to force you into anything.”
Mirror shrugged. “Maybe in a few nights.” Mirror’s mind was struggling with inner conflict. She had just ran away from home to spend time with Silver but at the same time she just needed some space for a night or two to come to terms with what she did.
Silver nodded and turned around, “Okay then, how about I take the couch for the first night?”
“Okay, thank you Silver. I’m sorry, it’s just I kinda dropped the holidays with my family for you… You get it, right,” Mirror asked anxiously.
At first, Silver wasn’t sure. Diamond would never have even attempted something like this. Diamond would never have even thought of it. Yet here Mirror was doing just that. And Silver felt her heart beat heavily, unsure if it was because of love for Mirror, or concern that she was once again having her emotions played on. Mirror meanwhile, stood there looking at Silver with her own heart pounding. She gave up a lot for this trip, more so than she had ever before for anyone outside her immediate family. And yet, it seemed to her that it did little to afflict Silver’s attitude. She seemed, at least to Mirror, upset over Mirror’s actions.
Yet, Silver acted on instinct here and embraced Mirror in a tight hug. Mirror had done a great deed, maybe just maybe she was sincere. Silver couldn’t be sure, but right now she needed someone to hold.
As Mirror returned the hug, she whispered into Silver’s ear. “Thank you.”
Silver took a deep breath, “No, thank you.”
Mirror look that Silver questioningly, “Why? Whatever for?”
“For being my Girl,” Silver smiled.
“Well then I should be thanking you for the same thing, After all, it has to go both ways,” Mirror replied.
“That’s true,” Silver said, letting go of Mirror, “So, Melody Gold I think you wanted to go for a swim?”
“That would be correct,” laughed Mirror softly.
“Well then, why don’t we unpack, get comfortable, and head over?” Silver asked.
“Sounds like a plan,” agreed Mirror, who reached for her suitcase.
Silver giggled, “So what bikini you gonna take?”
“I’m going to take my dark midnight blue set. I’ll be putting it on there. Also, do you need a pair of goggles? I brought two.”
Silver giggled again as she placed her luggage next to left side of the bed. “Ooh your midnight set, I always did love you in that one. So very sexy.” she said seductively.
Mirror laughed, rolling her eyes. “We’re in a resort for nudists. I don’t think you can get more sexy then that.”
“Well if you and I get naked we might,” Silver giggled, “Come on let’s get ready for the pool, I pulled out my sunscreen.”
“Okay, Ms. Star. Let’s proceed,” giggled Mirror, finally ready to seize her time at the Lunar Resorts.
