Chapters Author's Note
Ok, here's another asked by Gaya, hope this is a good way to start it to continue. If it is I'll see what I can do for the next chapter. Enjoy!
Also this story won't have as much chapters as Destined to blaze, just about 4 or 5. Depending on how it goes.
The invitation
It's Friday at the Canterlot High school, a normal, peaceful day for its students. In the cafeteria, the students were chatting with their friends and enjoying their lunch, especially our favorite group of girls (well most of them, since a certain pink party girl was nowhere to be seen).
"So," Sunset said to her friends, "I guess everyone is going to be busy this weekend."
"It would appear that way," said Rarity, "I wonder if Pinkie Pie also has her own plans for this weekend."
"Speaking of Pinkie," Rainbow said as she looked around for her pink haired friend, "Where is she? She's missing lunch."
"RIGHT HERE!", Pinkie jumped from behind Rainbow almost giving her a heart attack. How is it that Pinkie can easily sneak up on people and surprise them without being caught? The world may never know.
"Pinkie," Rainbow said as she clutched her chest to calm her heart, "Would you please not do that?"
Pinkie giggled, "Sorry Rainbow. Anyways, my parents are going out of town this weekend so I'm having another slumber party at my house, its gonna be super fun! You girls are coming, right?" The other girl gave each other nervous glances and pinkie noticed, "Is there something wrong?"
"Well Pinkie," Applejack said, "the thing is, we can't come this time."
Pinkie's smile instantly disappeared and was replaced with a shocked and sad expression, "What!? Why!?"
"It's not that we don't want to come," Sunset said, "It's just that we all gonna be busy. For instance, me and Twilight are gonna be working on a science project together."
"And it's an important part of our grade," Twilight added in.
"Yeah," Rainbow said, "The soccer team and I are going out of town for a game on Saturday."
"The Apple Family Reunion is this weekend," Applejack said, "So I won't have time to come over."
"Some of the animals at the shelter are very ill," Fluttershy said, "I have to tend to them as soon as school is over."
"And I have to get to the fashion show tonight to showcase my latest designs," Rarity said.
"Oh," Pinkie sadly said, "well okay."
"We're very sorry Pinkie," Sunset said trying to comfort her, "We can always come next week."
"No that's ok," Pinkie said forcing a smile, "Hope you all have fun." They then heard that the bell ring, signaling that lunch was over, so they left the cafeteria and went to their respected lockers to get their books for their next period. "Well this sucks," she said as she walked down the hall to her class, "I was really excited about this slumber party, I had it all planned out. Now what am I gonna do?" She was so caught up in her thought that she didn't notice someone else walking toward her until they bumped into each other.
"Sorry, I didn't see you," a familiar voice said. Pinkie looked to see who she bumped into and saw that it was one of the Dazzlings member, Sonata Dusk. The reason why the are still attending the school is because since they lost their powers, they're gonna have to adjust to their new lives. Principle Celestia allowed them to attend, but they have to be kept under watch by Sunset and her friends to make sure they don't try anything. So far, they have been behaving quite well, including Aria...kind of.
"Oh hey, it's you. Your name is Sonata, right?"
Sonata nodded, "Yeah and your ... Pinkie, right?"
"Yep, that's my name. So how are things going with you and sisters' lives?"
Sonata then looked kinda depressed, "It's kinda dull and lonely actually. Since we lost our powers, Adagio and Aria had to get jobs to pay for food, taxes, and to keep a roof over our heads. They never have time for me."
Pinkie suddenly felt bad for the blue siren in front of her. Even though they did tried to take over the school and almost turned her friends against each other, especially towards Sunset, nobody deserves to be alone. Then, a great idea came to her head. "Ya know, I'm having a slumber party at my place. How about you come over?"
Sonata eyes opened wide and grew a big smile, "For realizes!? I can hang out with you and your friends?"
"Well, actually it's gonna be just you and me since my friends are gonna be too busy to come. But don't worry, we can still have a lot of fun together."
"Oh Okay, so when should I come?"
Pinkie reached into her hair and pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil, then wrote down her address and the time to come and then gave it to Sonata. "Here you go," Suddenly the school bell rang, "Oh we're gonna be late, I'll see you later." they then rushed to their classroom and continue the rest of their time at school.
*Timeskip to the end of school*
The final bell had finally ringed. Pretty soon, the students were walking out the doors to enjoy their weekend.
"Ya know girls," Sunset said to her friends, "I still feel kinda bad that we couldn't go to Pinkie's party. I mean, she seemed really upset when we told her we were too busy."
"Don't worry Sunset," Rarity said, "We'll make it up to her next week"
"Hey girls!" Pinkie called from behind in her usual cheerful mood.
"Howdy Pinkie," Applejack greeted, "Listen, again we're sorry we can't come tonight. We can make it up to you."
"Oh don't worry about it, it's all good. Welp, see you girls on monday." With that, she left the group and went off to her home, leaving the girls confused.
"She is taking this better than we thought," Twilight said all puzzled.
"Well that's Pinkie," Sunset said, "She always find away to herself in her usual good mood." So they brushed it off and went off to do what they needed to do this weekend.

The arrival
Sonata was alone at the Dazzlings's house...again. As soon as she and her sister got home, Adagio and Aria quickly changed to their work clothes and went back out to work, leaving Sonata to herself. At least this time, she will have something to do at 9:30 pm. Right now it was 9:00, so Sonata was packing the necessities for the party. 'It was very nice of Pinkie to invite me to a party,' she thought to herself, 'maybe this might be a start of good friendship.' Sonata had recently been thinking about making friends with her and the others. However, Adagio and Aria still haven't let go of their grudge against them and refuse to see them eye to eye. "Well, I think that's everything I need. I better get going, don't want to be late." She grabbed her bag and went towards the front door, but when she opened it, she was surprised to see that Adagio was at the other side. "Adagio!? Your home early!?"
"Yes," Adagio said a bit tired, "a little incident happened at work, so my boss is letting me take the rest of the night off," she then noticed the bag Sonata was carrying, "but tell me, where are you going?"
"Oh, um, I was just gonna," Sonata pause for a bit to think of a good excuse, "take a little walk."
"A walk?" Adagio said with a raised eyebrow, unconvinced.
Sonata nodded, "Yea."
"A walk to where?"
"A walk to...the park."
"The park?"
"Yep."
"At a time like this?"
"That's right."
Adagio sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, 'She is a terrible liar.' "Sonata, just tell me where are you going."
"I did."
"Sonata," she gave her a stern look, "Even you know as much as I do about how terrible you are at lying. So just tell me already."
Sonata gave a sigh of defeat, "Ok, I got invited to a slumber party."
"By who?"
"Pinkie Pie."
"Isn't she that pink haired drummer from the Rainbooms?"
Sonata nodded, "Yea."
"Why didn't you just say that before?"
"Well, I know that you and Aria still hate them for taking away our powers. So I thought if I told you two, you wouldn't let me go. But we haven't been doing anything fun since we lost our powers. Every time you and Aria come home from work, you're always too tired to do anything. I just wanted to have a little fun again."
Adagio thought about it for a bit. She and Aria have been neglecting her for a while. Even if their jobs are very tiresome, they could at least spend a little time with her. She sighed, "Get in the car."
Sonata looked confused, "Why?"
"I'm going to you to Pinkie's house."
Sonata eyes grew wide and she instantly grew a smile, "For Realzies!"
"Yes. Now don't get me wrong, I still despise those Rainbooms for what they have done to us, but I suppose that shouldn't mean I shouldn't let you hang out with them if you want."
That made Sonata really happy, so she gave Adagio a hug, "Thank you so much!"
Adagio rolled her eyes but hugged her back anyway, "Come on." They both exited the house and entered Adagio's car, She then started it, "So where is her house?"
"Oh yeah," Sonata reached into her bag and the paper that had Pinkie's address then handed it to her, "Here's the address." After a quick study of it, Adagio pulled out of the and drove over to Pinkie's house.
*Timeskip to Pinkie's house*
They've arrived, so Adagio parked in front of the house, "Here we are."
"Thanks again for taking me here Adagio."
"Your welcome Sonata," Sonata exited out of the car, "I'll pick you up in the morning."
"Ok," she and waved bye to Adagio as she drove back to their house. She then walked to the front door and gave it a quick knock. After a few seconds, someone answered the door, but it wasn't Pinkie, it was someone else, someone with gray skin and a blank expression, "Uh hi, is this is where Pinkie lives?"
The person turned around and called out with a monotoned voice,"Pinkie, someone's here to see you."
Pinkie came over to the front door with sky blue pajamas on. When she saw that it was Sonata, immediately gave her a hug,"You made it!" She then grabbed her wrist and pulled her to her room. "Come on!" They got to her room and there was some games, snacks, nail polish, make-up, movies, a couple of sleeping bags. "We're gonna have so much fun. But first, You should change into something more comfortable. You did bring something to change into, right?"
"Yea, their right here," Sonata showed her the bag, "but can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?"
"Who was that person I just meet, is she your friend?"
Pinkie giggled, "No silly, that's my sister, Maud Pie."
Sonata was confused, "Your sister?"
"Yeah, One of the best sister I ever have!"
'She doesn't seem anything like her, but maybe I shouldn't ask about it,' Sonata brushed off the confusion, "Ok, so where's the bathroom?"
"Take a right and it will be the first door to your left."
"Thanks" she left the room to change. A few minutes, later she came back with her hair down and wearing fuschia colored pajamas.
"Hey, those pj's look cute on you."
Sonata blushed a little, "Thanks."
"Well, now that we're both in comfortable clothes, Let's get this party started!"

Makeup funtime
"Let's get this party started!" Pinkie said with excitement.
"Okay, so where do we start?" Sonata asked, "A movie? games? Snacks?"
"Let's start with the makeup!" Pinkie gathered the cosmetics and makeup tools.
"So, Are we gonna do our own?"
"No silly It's more fun when we do each other's." Sonata nodded and they both sat down in the middle of the room with the cosmetics nearby. "You know what's really fun about makeup?"
"What?" Sonata asked with a raised eyebrow.
"They're almost just like face paint"
"How's that?"
"I'll show you! Close your eyes and hold still."
"Okay," Sonata closed her eyes and let Pinkie do whatever she was gonna do. Pinkie grabbed some aquatic colored cosmetics and some tools plus a special head net that can go over your face and got to work (A/N: I know the name of that net but I'm not gonna type it in because it might give away what Pinkie is doing). She started by putting the net on her head. "Wait what did you put on my head?"
"Don't worry just hold still," She grabbed some blue and turquoise face makeup and a concealer brush then brushed the makeup on the sides of Sonata's forehead, around the outside of her eyes, and on her cheeks, all while making sure the two colors blend well. Pinkie then took off the net and grabbed some turquoise eyeshadow and applied it on Sonata's eyelids. Finally, Pinkie grabbed a blue lipstick and applied it on her lips, "Ok, done."
Sonata opened her eyes, "How do I look?"
"See for yourself," Pinkie said as she held up a mirror for Sonata to see her reflection. She was quite surprised at hat she saw. In the mirror, she saw that she look like a mermaid.
"Wow, this looks so cool!"
"Thanks, I might not be as good as Rarity but I got a few good tips from her. Anyways, It's your turn!"
Sonata got nervous, "Um, well, I don't think it will be as good as your's."
"Don't worry, the author is not really good at writing detail into these stories anyway."
"What?"
"What?" There were a few seconds of awkward silence until Sonata broke it.
"Well, I guess I could try."
"Great!" Pinkie closed her eyes and waited for Sonata, "Ready when you are!"
"Ok," she took a moment to think of what to do and only one thought came to her mind. She grabbed a black liner and applied it to Pinkie's top lip and the bottom part of her nose, but as she was applying it to her nose, it caused her to sneeze. "AH-CHOO!"
"Sorry."
"That's ok, continue." Once she finished with the nose, she drew a line connecting the two. After that, she drew a few whiskers on each of her cheeks, then she applied on her mascara on her eyelashes. However, she couldn't think of anything else to do.
"OK, I'm done I guess." Sonata held up the mirror as Pinkie open her eye to see what she did. What she saw in the mirror is that she was a cat. Sonata was worried that Pinkie wouldn't like it, but then she started to giggle which turned to laughter.
"I'm a kitty cat," Pinkie laughed.
"You don't hate it?"
"No, this is pretty good."
"Thanks," even though it was just a compliment, it made her feel a little warm inside.
"Y'know Sonata," Pinkie said with a devious smile.
"What?" Sonata asked a bit nervous about her smile.
"Cats do like to eat fishes," Pinkie then started to get closer to Sonata as she moved back a little.
"P-pinkie, what are you doing?" But Pinkie didn't answer. Instead, she pounced Sonata and the next thing you know, She started assaulting her with tickles and Sonata burst out laughing. "Aaahhhhahahahahahah! Pinkie Pleasehehehehhehe! Stohahahahahah!" But Pinkie didn't listen, she just kept on tickling as Sonata kept trying to escap. This went on for about five minutes until Pinkie finally decided to stop and let Sonata breath again.
"Well, that was fun."
"Yeah ... it was," Sonata said still catching her breath, "Hey, you wanna do some other makeup styles."
Pinkie then gained a gleaming smile, "Sure! hang on I'll get a camera." Once she found one, they did different makeup style and taking pictures while doing poses that could relate to the style. When they decided they took enough pictures, they removed the makeup from their faces.
"That was the most fun I had in a long time," Sonata said when she finished removing her makeup.
"Well, the night is still young and we have some other activities to do. What do you wanna do next?"

Movie time
"What do you want to do?" Pinkie asked.
Sonata looked around to see what they should do next, then she set her eyes on the stack of movies, "How about we watch a movie?"
"That sounds great! Which movie do you want to watch?"
Sonata too a minute to look over them. there were a comedy, drama , romance, sci-fi, but then she stopped at one particular movie, "How about this one?" She held up a slasher film called "Hell comes to town." (A/N: Just so you'll know, it's not a real movie, plus it was the best fake title I could think of.)
"Have you saw that movie before?"
"Well no," Sonata started rubbing her own arm in nervousness, "Aria and Adagio kept telling me that these kinds of movies will give me nightmares."
"Aw, there no need to be scared of, none of it will be real. And besides, it's fun to be scared sometimes."
"You know what, your right!" Sonata said with a new boost of confidence, "And besides, I should be old enough to watch these kinds of movies."
"Great!" Pinkie said with excitement, "I'll make some popcorn."
Once Pinke left the room, Sonata took the disc out of the case and insert it into the DVD player. A few minutes later, Pinkie came back with a big bowl of popcorn then they started the movie. It started out all calm and friendly, a new guy have moved into the neighborhood and some of the and his next door neighbor came over to help unpack, "This doesn't look so bad," Sonata said. But then she regretted saying that as they continued to watch the movie. As it turns out, the new neighbor is a sadistic psychopath that loves the thrill to kill, and he seems to fool everyone with an innocent nice guy act so no one would know. At the first kill scene, Sonata cringed at what happen.
"Hey!" the victim tied up in a chair in a dark room said, "What are you doing?"
"Don't worry," The psychopath said, "I noticed that you had trouble seeing, so I thought should give you a hand."
"What are you talking about? I see just fine."
"And you'll see much better when I'm done," The psychopath held up a power drill, "Now hold still."
"Wait! Stop! Stop! Stoaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" The victim yelled as he was getting his Eyes drilled.
Pinkie notice Sonata's discomfort as they continued watching, "You know, we can watch something else if you want."
"No," Sonata said trying to hide her fear, "don't worry I'm fine."
"You sure?"
"Yes." As they continued watching, the movie got more gruesome. The Psychopath kept killing innocent people in the most inhumane ways possible. At one point it caused Sonata to grab onto Pinkie's arm, making her blush a little.
"No, please! Leave me alone!" a woman on the screen said as she was cornered by the psychopath wielding a buzzsaw.
"Don't worry," The psychopath said as he started it up, "I'll make sure you'll enjoy ever moment."
Sonata couldn't bare to watch anymore. she closed her eyes tight and buried her face in Pinkie's arm, but she couldn't block out the screams of the woman and the sound of the saw tearing through flesh and bone. Pinkie saw how terrified she is is and decided to turn off the movie. Sonata was still shaking in fear because of what she just witness. Regardless of how long she been in this world, she would have never have thought of how cruel people can be, even if it is just a movie. She then noticed a cupcake being handed to her.
"Here," Pinkie said handing her the cupcake, "Cupcakes sometimes calms me down."
"Thanks," Sonata took the cupcake and took a bite. It actually did calm her down a little.
"Better?"
"Yes."
"Well, I guess we should get on with another activity, wouldn't you say?"
"Sure, but can I ask you something?"
"Yeah, what is it?"
"You saw the movie already right?"
"Yep, I saw it the last time I had a sleepover with my friends?"
"Well, could you tell me how it ends?"
"Well," Pinkie tried to remember what happened, "If I remembered right, the last victim tried to escape, but then an accident happened, causing the psychopath's house to go into flames. The victim escaped the burning house, but the psychopath was nowhere to be found. Police couldn't find a trace of him and he was presumed dead, but some couldn't shake the feeling that he was still out there."
"Oh, ok," Sonata said a bit worried.
"Don't worry. Like I said, it's not real."
"Ok," Sonata said feeling better, "But I guess I won't be watching another one of those movies for a while." They both giggled, "So what now?"
After Sonata calmed down from that movie, see looked around the room to see what to do, her eyes then landed on a particular game.
"Oh yeah," Pinkie said a bit sad, "That was one of the games I planned to play with my friends tonight, but they were too busy for tonight."
Sonata felt kinda bad for her, she seemed like she really wanted to play it, then she got an Idea. "Well, we're friends, right?"
Pinkie thought about for a bit then smiled a little, "Yeah, I guess we are."
"And does the game need more than two players to play?"
"No, but it like I say, the more the merrier."
"So how about we play it, just the two of us."
"Really?" Pinkie said now back to her usual peppy self.
"Yeah, I'm sure it will still be fun with two people."
"Hmm, I don't know," Pinkie said in a teasing tone, "I don't think you're up for the challenge."
"Oh come on, please."
"Well...okay! But don't say I didn't warn you." They then set up to play. Both girls were now sitting down with the game between them. "Ok, so it's very simple. Each one of us will take a turn, we spin the spinner and pick out the jellybean it lands on then eat it. Now it will end in two ways: One, you will get a tasty treat, or two, it will leave a bad taste in your mouth."
"So we won't know which is good or bad?"
"Nope, that's where the suspense is."
"Ok, so who goes first?"
"Let's flip a coin," she then grabbed a coin from her hair, "Heads you go first, tails I go first." she then flipped it and let it land in her hand revealed that it was, "Tails, me first." With a spin of the spinner, they waited a bit for it to stop. It then landed on Strawberry Banana Smoothie or Dead Fish. "Ok," She grabbed the matching jellybean from the box, "here goes." She popped in her mouth and chewed it a bit, but then she stopped, her eyes went wide, and her face turned green. After few more slow chew later, she swallowed the bean, with some resistance from her throat, then she heaved a little. "Definitely not a smoothie flavor," she said with disgust. She then shook it off then went back to normal, "Ok your turn."
"Um, ok," Sonata said a little nervous. After witnessing Pinkie's reaction, she was worried about what bad taste she'll get. She spun the spinner and it landed on Tutti-Fruitti of Stinky Socks. With an audible gulp, she grabbed the bean and with some hesitation, put it in her mouth and slowly chewed it. Fortunately for her, she avoided the horrid taste of dirty socks. "Phew, dodged the bullet on that one."
"You might have got a good one this time," Pinkie said sly grin, "But sooner or later you'll eat a bad one. Ok, my turn." This time it landed on Buttered Popcorn or Rotten Eggs. She quickly grabbed one, "Down the hatch!" then shoved it in her mouth. This time, she was now tasting the sweet taste of buttered popcorn. "Delicious!"
"Ok, It's my turn, I guess," Sonata said still a little worried about what she'll have to eat. The spinner spun and it lands on Berry Blue or Toothpaste. She grabbed it out of the box, closed her eyes shut, then put it in her mouth. Ironically, She was eating the toothpaste flavor, but it wasn't that bad at all. "Mmm, minty."
"It doesn't taste bad?"
"No, it's almost like eating mint candy."Pinkie
"Well, I guess that one was a win-win. Anyways, my turn." The spinner decided for her to eat either Carmel Corn or Moldy Cheese. Pinkie grabbed the matching flavor and put it in. Luckily, she was able to avoid another disgusting taste the second time in a row. "Another sweet treat, another bad taste avoided. Ready for your next one."
"Sure," Sonata said with a little confidence in her luck. With a spin of the spinner, she has the risk of eating Chocolate Pudding or Canned Dog Food. "Here we go," She grabbed the chosen bean and put it in her mouth. But after the first few chews, her confidence turned to immediate regret. She began to retch from the taste of dog food.
"If you spit it out you lose," Pinkie said holding back a giggle.
Sonata tried her best to keep herself from barfing and tried to swallow the jellybean, but her throat wouldn't let her. A few moments later, she was able to force it through, then she shivered in disgust. "That was disgusting! How do they even know what dog food taste like!?"
"Don't know, But anyway do you want to continue?"
Sonata thought about it for a minute. She already got this far, She can't just end the game here just because of one bad jellybean, "Yeah, I want to continue." With that, they continued on. They ate many different jellybeans from lime to spoiled milk, from peach to boogers. GROSS!
"Yeah, I'm getting sick of it too." A few rinses of mouthwash later, they decided to play a game of Truth or Dare. "Ok Sonata, Truth or Dare?"
"Dare."
"I dare you ... to drink out of the toilet like a dog!"
Sonata's eyes went wide after hearing that, "What!?"
"You heard me," Pinkie said.
"Is this is because I ate the dog food jellybean?"
"A little, yes."
Sonata gave a defeated sigh knowing that she can't back down when they just started, "fine." She went to the bathroom with Pinkie following behind to see that she'll do it. And much to her disgust, she did it and afterward, she took another rinse of mouthwash then they went back. "Ok Truth or Dare Pinkie?"
"Dare!" Pinkie said without a second thought.
"I dare you ... to have your hair straighten out your hair. "
"Ok!" Pinkie grabbed a flattening iron and started straightening her hair. It took some time, but she was able to get it all straighten out. "So, how do I look?" Pinkie's hair reached further down than it did when it was all curly.
'I'm actually starting to see a little resemblance between her and her sister, but she seems cuter with her hair curly. Wait, where did that come from?' Sonata blushed a little because of her thoughts and didn't realize that she was staring at Pinkie until she spoke.
"Um, Sonata, are you ok?" Pinkie said a bit worried.
Sonata's blushing increased when she realized it, "Uh, yeah. You look kinda like your sister, except with longer hair."
"Thanks. Though I rather have my hair curly. Anyway, Truth or Dare?"
Sonata almost forgot that they were still playing, "Oh, uh, truth."
"Ok. Is there someone that you like?"
"Well yeah. I like you, I mean we are friends, right? even though you and your friends shattered our gems and took away our powers and singing voices, but ..."
"No, no, no," Pinkie interrupted, "I mean someone you 'like-like'."
"Oh," Sonata blushed some more and her heart rate increased a little, "Well, um, there might be someone I might like."
"Really who is it?"
"I ... can't tell you. And besides, isn't it one question per truth?" Sonata said hoping to avoid telling her.
"Oh alright." Pinkie said with a playful 'hmph.'
"So, Truth or Dare?"
"Dare."
"I dare you to..." Sonata thought about it for a sec trying to figure out what dare she should make her commit. She thought about the jellybeans they just ate and got an idea. She gained an evil grin, "eat a handful of those Bean Boozled jelly beans."
Pinkie face paled a bit know that she can't refuse the dare or avoid any horrible jellybeans. So she grabbed a handful of them and put them all in her mouth. As she chewed them together, she tasted the mixture of different sweet flavors and different bad flavors. Needless to say, it wasn't good. Struggled to swallow, but was able to do it. Some tears of disgust escaped her eyes. "I think I'm gonna need to bleach my tongue." Sonata giggled at that her statement. Pinkie then shook it off and asked, "Truth or Dare?"
"Dare."
"I dare you ... to switch pajamas with me."
Sonata then became a blushing mess just like that. "What!?"
"Come on, it's not that weird."
"Well, I just, you, um ..." Sonata kept on stammering trying to find the right words.
"If it makes you feel better, I won't look at you as long as you don't look at me, ok?"
