The sounds of hooves and the sound of a knock brought a smile to Luna's face. She skipped across the floor of the tower. She opened the door and grinned as Trixie strutted in.

"Let's do this crazy thing. Who else you find?" Trixie poked her head in. "Did Twilight finally come around to the plan?" Trixie asked. As the door opened farther and farther, Trixie finally saw who the third member of their team was. "Ummmm... that's a unicorn!?" Trixie pointed her hoof accusingly.

Sunset Shimmer sighed and wearily made her way to door. "We can chat on the balcony."

"This isn't a time to be chatting." Trixie mumbled.

"Sure it is. This world's ending. Can't live with hate." Sunset rolled her eyes.

"You finally worked out the solution!?" Trixie exclaimed excitedly. "We don't have to do this?"

Sunset shook her head and pushed Trixie out of the doorway so that she could get some fresh air. It was just Trixie and Sunset now. Sunset leaned against the rail, casually. "The unicorn monetary system blew-up. Nobody has faith in bits anymore." Sunset lamented. "Same thing with my world. You know what bitcoin is?"

Trixie shrugged. "Pfft, no."

Sunset sighed. "It's nonsense."

"Was gonna guess that. Trixie really was."

"Stop with the name thing." Sunset rolled her eyes.

"Sorry. Habit. I'm just a little paranoid that somepony might be listening in on us." Trixie shook herself and joined Sunset on the rail while Luna prepared the spellsong.

"I can't believe we're really doing this." Sunset mumbled. She flicked her hair. "Stupid horse-hair. Totally unmanageable." Trixie nodded along.

"So, why are you here?" Trixie asked as she took deep breaths. She'd had a long day, and night, and it clearly wasn't over, not by a long shot.

"Righteous revenge, just like everypony else." Sunset sighed dejectedly. Trixie grunted.

"Who are you after??" Trixie inquired, her eyes slowly widening.

"Morning Star. She invented bits. Literally. Conjured them with magic. It was against the law, or it was supposed to be. I was banished for pointing it out. That's greed for you." Sunset answered dryly.

"Morning Star?"

"Twilight's apprentice... from before she came to Ponyville."

"WWWOOOOOAAAHHH." Trixie's mouth dropped open.

"I've been practicing my magic. Twilight might be a little better than me, but i think I'm finally a match for Morning Star." Sunset grinned. A crazy look came over her face for a moment, but then it was gone. "We have three for the spell. Luna represents "8" the infinity of theoretical immortality. You represent the number "1". You like you, and as far as you knows, only you exist.

"You're an alicorn? Not possible." Trixie stated.

"I'm not exactly an alicorn. Not in this world. Not that it matters. This world doesn't even exist." Sunset groaned and shook her head. "Those equations were really hard to do. Thankfully, I'm smarter than a 2nd Grade University Student."

"Pfft. Who has the ego now?"

"No ego. I represent the anti-number zero. Maybe it's by default. I dunno. It's just a representative equation." Sunset explained. "Twilight really didn't see this coming. True, you need three alicorns for the spell, but, she deeply underestimated me."

"Ego explosion. Trixie is impressed." Trixie put both her hooves over her mouth. "Egghead."

"I'm ALMOST as smart as Twilight, and she doesn't know it, that's the only reason we succeeded. She won't underestimate us again." Sunset gestured towards her cutie mark. It glowed for a moment. "I can tap alicorn magic via the equestrian portal that connects me to my alternate dimension friends."

"You've lost me. Earth and Equestria to Sunset... you're totally cracking under the pressure." Trixie wasn't really serious, in fact, she was having trouble preventing herself from rolling on the ground in silent laughter.

Sunset shrugged. "Don't worry about it. It'll all make more sense with flashing lights and shadows." Sunset waved her hooves around in the air sarcastically. "I can do flashy light magic too." Trixie sent Sunset a weird look. "It's about temporal time in relation to perspective. Perspective adds relevance to time itself. Time is a measure of change. I have free-will. I can change things, ponies exist if they think they do. We're having an effect on the real world right now. It's not exactly, significant, but it was enough to break relativity."

"Wanna know why I'm here?" Trixie asked with grin in an attempt to change the subject.

"No."

"I'm here to steal Schrodinger's cat, destroy reality, and replace it with my own." There was a short pause. "I stole the idea from Pinkie Pie during the election." Trixie held her head up high. "Luna's here because we need an immortal for this."

"That's a real thing?" There was a short pause. "Immortality, i mean." Sunset asked.

"She can still die." Trixie added.

"Because of Schrodinger's Cat?" Sunset asked.

"Exactly." Trixie's eyes went wide.

"So... Morning Star's role in this is... that she stole the cat and she's hiding it?" Sunset guessed.

"Exactly." Trixie said once again. Sunset threw her head back.

"Those freaking unicorns... aaahhhhhh!!!"

"Oh yeah. They invented faith, with magic. They've been conjuring bits for years." Trixie pointed out. "I didn't really understand this until i became a bankrupt unicorn. Get it? I didn't wanna conjure bits. Then i conjured bits because i was desperate. That's how i know that pretty much all the unicorns are doing it!" Trixie snapped between grit teeth.

Luna stepped out onto the balcony, and joined them to make them a trio. She towered over her two new friends, especially with the way that she held her head high.

"Down with the Monarchy's Bits!" She proclaimed. "Muwahahahahahahahahaha!" Luna threw her hooves out.

!!!LET THE MUSIC START, MY LITTLE PONIES!!!

Luna's voice filled everypony's head. She was in their subconscious.

"Where do i go, where do i go, do you know, do you know, do i pass on, do i pass on, or am i gone, or am i gone?" Luna fluttered her wings and danced across the floor, her hooves striking down at the marble.

"-Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock, around went the clock, and now it's midnight, now it's midnight-" Trixie joined in, her voice deep and morose as she sang eerily. Trixie flapped her wings and hopped from hoof to hoof, as she danced across the floor of Luna's tower.

"-The cat holds the power, in our final hour, the great unknown beyond the portal zone-" Sunset Shimmer whispered, her eyes clenched tightly closed.

"Tick-tock tick-tock, so-so, where do we go, around went the clock, and now it's midnight, yes it's midnight, do we pass on, do we pass on- No! We're out with the light!"

The shadows stopped. They had been spinning. Six windows for the six elements, with six beams of light, forming six shadows. The shadows had been rotating, as the spellsong was preformed. Now, they were frozen in time, and outside of time, at the same time.

Luna addressed the other two members of the team.

"3... you are getting very sleepy. 2... remember the most painful memory you can, and become 1... with it." The three ponies took in a deep breath.

"Zero." They all said as as one. "Grandfather clock of the undead tree, take us back, take us back... knock-knock, don't you see, you didn't see, what we lack, what we lack?" They were fully under the influence of the spell now.

The shadows began spinning in the opposite direction.

"My soul passed away with the-Morning-Star's, starfall-day." They each whispered separately. A brief silence filled the room as the light from outside flickered, as they combined their powers to rotate the sun and moon.

"Does the sun-set in the east or west? Tell me, how does the star-swirl, is this a test, for our world?" Sunset whispered.

The flickering light blinded them. They could see only short snippets, images, pictures, of what was happening around them.

Luna was the only one who understood. Her powers would remain intact. They weren't seeing images... they were UN-seeing them.

A single tear began to go down Luna's cheek.

"If it never happened... is that what forgiveness means?" Luna pondered as the three of them floated beyond time.

Then, they arrived. ("The words of the spell are counted." -Luna)
