Applejack kicked the tree with absolute power and anger. No she wasn't apple bucking. She was testing her strength in her legs. After another kick, Applejack placed her hind legs on the ground and turned around to face the tree. The tree layed there helplessly on the ground as the orange mare wiped the sweat from her forehead.

Twilight came around and looked at the destroyed tree. Twilight smiled and turned to Applejack.

"Good. Your making progress. Keep going."

Applejack nodded in command as she galloped to her next course. Twilight was getting them to train until they fight with Sombra. She saw progress in their skills, but it needed more training. The only mare that wasn't outside was Rainbow Dash and she was looking after Spike. Twilight picked her because she saw Rainbow with the most progress. Sure Rainbow was a great and skilled fighter, but Twilight never seen Rainbow destroy an entire tree with a punch of her hoof. Until today. Twilight hope that she was making progress with Spike though.

Rainbow sat on the ground on her hunches, forearms crossed. Her eyes filled with concern, confusion, and a little bit of boredom. Rainbow couldn't take the silence. Does it mean cause she hates boredom? Yeah, but she was more concerned about Spike. She was going to get him to talk if it was the last thing she does. Rainbow flapped her wings and started to levitate over to Twilight's bed where Spike just so happens to be laying on. Rainbow took a deep breath and began to speak.

"Spike? Pal, you awake?"

A moan of annoyance escaped his throat as he rolled over to face Rainbow Dash. Rainbow saw the looks in his eyes and she didn't like it one bit. They were demonized red pupils and yellow eyes. Rainbow saw right through him: anger, sadness, guilt, fear. She saw the emotions in his eyes, but Rainbow felt like Spike wasn't feeling anything at the moment. Rainbow, trying to hide her fear and sadness, swallowed a lump from her throat and forced a smile.

"Well since your awake, how do you like to spend your day with the GREATEST pegasus in town?!"

Rainbow tried to sound like her normal boastful self. Spike, cause of Rainbow's exclamation, clenched his eyes shut and kicked Rainbow in her right leg. Rainbow bit her tongue so a tiny yelp wouldn't escape her mouth. She forced a smile anyways, wings flapping with confidence.

"See?! You look like you want to spend some time with Rainbow Dash!"

Rainbow tried to ignore the pain in her leg. It didn't last long though. She was thankful for that. Rainbow looked through Spike's life less eyes and felt like crying. But, she tried to be as her usual confident self. She took a few low breathers and gave Spike a sly smile.

"Hey, don't worry Spike. Everything is going to be fine. Once this is over, everything will go back to normal."

'Nothing is normal around me Dash. You know that'. He somewhat wanted to say that to Rainbow Dash, but somehow avoided it.

Rainbow sighed and landed on the bed beside Spike. "Spike, you can talk to me. To any of us. Were your friends and you shouldn't be hesitant to talk to us. No matter what."

'Your loyalty won't live forever Rainbow. Believe me'.

Rainbow sighed once more. Rainbow didn't know how to get Spike to talk and open up, but she won't quit.

"Spike......please talk to me.......please......I'm worried about you. You need to say something..... anything..... Please....." Rainbow sobbed.

Spike watched as Rainbow sobbed beside him. His new yellow eyes looked towards Rainbow with no life once so ever. "Stay out of this Rainbow."

Rainbow's ears perked up. Spike's voice was dry and croaked. She wiped her tears away from her eyes, glad that Spike said something. But, it wasn't what she hoped for. His first words to her in a while and they were, "Stay out of this Rainbow."

"Spike please..... you don't understand..... I want to help you. We all do."

"Stay out of this Rainbow," he repeated.

Rainbow sighed. She knew this wasn't over, but flew to the exit of the room. She opened the door and closed it. Rainbow sighed again.

"Hey. Still couldn't get him to open up?"

Rainbow saw Moon Dust walking towards her. "No. He only told me to stay out of it."

There was a slight silence until Rainbow decided to break the silence. "Hey, how are the others doing?"

"Twilight is doing one on one practice with Pinkie. I think it isn't going well."

Rainbow gave him an confused eyebrow. Moon Dust knocked on the forced field to get Rarity's attention. Rarity wasn't focused on Moon Dust, but managed to lift the forcefield without looking. Moon Dust walked out as Rainbow flew beside him. Rarity closed the forcefield as soon as they were outside.

Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy watched in awe in Twilight and Pinkie training. They knew that's what all it was, but their expressions showed differently. Twilight and Pinkie kept blocking each other's punches. Hooves punching on each other's hooves, missing their targets. Pinkie went for a kick ,but Twilight teleported. Pinkie tried looking for Twilight, but wasn't fast enough. Twilight teleported behind Pinkie and knocked her down. Once Pinkie was on the ground, Twilight placed her hind leg on Pinkie's chest.

Twilight and Pinkie panted for a while. Twilight lightly face hoofed. "No. In a real battle, you shouldn't get distracted like that. Always remain focused."

Pinkie Pie pushed Twilight's hind leg from her chest and raised up. "What do you think I was doing?"

Twilight shook her head. "You tried looking for me to fight me. You should instead tried hiding before I teleported behind you."

"What, you think I'm not capable in fighting?!" Pinkie barked.

"I do, but remember, this isn't about you Pinkie!"

Pinkie scoffed. "So it's about you?!"

"It's about Spike!"

Pinkie laughed darkly. "Yeah. Spike." Pinkie Pie gave Rarity a sign of letting the force field up. Rarity obliged and Pinkie ran inside.

"Ah think we should all take a break."

Twilight nodded at Applejack. The others went inside and Rarity closed the force field.

Twilight flapped her wings and levitated towards Rainbow. "So, how was Spike doing? Were you making progress?"

Rainbow sighed. "Well, he said something."

Twilight beamed. "Really?! What was it?l"

Rainbow gulped and avoided Twilight's gaze. "He told me to stay out of it."

Twilight sighed. Rainbow then narrowed her eyes. "But we can't give up. I think you should come with me to talk to him. You are closest to him and it might make Spike feel more comfortable."

Twilight shook her head, but still tried to think about it. Though she is closest to him, Twilight still don't think it was enough to get to him.

Rainbow flapped her wings. "Come on Twi, we need to find out what's bothering him!"

Twilight sighed and nodded. It was worth another shot. Rainbow and Twilight ended by the bedroom door. Twilight landed on the ground, but Rainbow remained flying. Twilight knocked on the door. No answer.

Twilight opened the door with her magic. The room was dark and she couldn't see light in the room. Twilight used her magic to lighten the room. Twilight and Rainbow walked further into the room and saw Spike sleeping on Twilight's bed. As the two mares gotten closer to him, they saw him squirming in his sleep.

Spike growled. "No, stay away from them!"

Unknowingly to Rainbow and Twilight, King Sombra laughed. In Spike's dream, Spike was trapped with chains on his wrists and legs, red bruises and symbols across his body. Sombra was facing him while his friends were trapped."What? Want to play hero now? God your annoying. Maybe if I kill your friends you'll be less annoying."

"No!"

"You can't beat me Spike. I've told you this when you were younger. You think I lied? Maybe I should kill them to show you what I mean."

"Leave them out of this!"

"You'll be more......dark with them gone. More..... broken. Much more satisfying."

"NO!"

"You think you stop me? Save your friends? No......I think you are ready to watch one of them die."

Spike struggled. "NO! I WON'T LET YOU DO IT!"

Sombra smirked. "I think you will. Let's chance it though." Sombra walked slowly towards the trapped Mane Six. Spike tried getting loose once more, but he was still trapped.

"Hmmmm.....who will the lucky mare be?"

Spike felt tears running down his face. "NO STOP!"

Sombra ignored him. "Hmmm.... Ha! Your the lucky mare!" His hoof was pointed directly at Rainbow.

Sombra grasped onto Rainbow's neck. Rainbow kicked, she struggled, she tried flying away. But she was too weak and Sombra was too strong. Sombra watched as those confident eyes almost became lifeless. Sombra turned towards Spike.

"See the life leaving her eyes? Bueatiful, ain't it Spike?"

Spike clenched his fists, trying his best to burn the chains and not burn the place at the same time.

"But....I think it needs something...... more." Sombra concentrated for a while as a certain weapon appeared within fire. She shade of red went all across the sword.

"Needs more screaming, don't ya think?"

Spike's eyes became almost red. "NO!"

The weapon was close to Rainbow. The rest of the Mane Six tried to get out to help with all the strength they had left. Sadly, it wasn't enough. Sombra smirked and placed it on Rainbow's neck. Rainbow clenched her eyes shut and whimpered a bit. Sombra than released the sword from her neck and placed it in his hoof. Rainbow slowly opened her eyes, but just as she did so, Sombra placed the sword through Rainbow's chest.

Rainbow's scream of agony didn't stop. Spike watched as Rainbow got tortured. "RAINBOW!"

Sombra then sliced the sword through Rainbow's eye, then her left wing, then her gut. Rainbow screamed and screamed louder and louder as each type of torture was worst than the last. Spike's eyes were filled with fear, guilt, depression, and anger. The blood spread across the walls as Rainbow screaming became normal. However, Spike found it horrifying. With another slice of the throat, Rainbow found it impossible to scream. Rainbow's eyes went behind her head as her movements became still. Rainbow was no longer alive.

Sombra dropped Rainbow on the dirty ground. Sombra turned towards Spike, shaking his head with a smirk on his face. "Such a shame. You could've saved her. You could've let her live. But I guess your too weak."

Spike didn't respond.

"I guess we'll have to see how many friends it will take to kill to make you break."

Spike's eyes turned completely red. The chains burned but the place began to shake. Spike growled as his glowing eyes was focused on Sombra. "NOOOOO!"

Spike's eyes widened. He saw Rainbow with Twilight exclaiming, but couldn't hear what they were saying. Seconds later, his hearing came back to him.

" SPIKE! SPIKE ARE YOU OKAY?! "

"ANSWER US PLEASE!"

Spike groaned."Guys..... I beg of you.....please stay out of this....."

"Spike-"

Tears went down Spike's face. " Please! I don't want you guys to die because of me!"

"Your not dangerous Spike! I wish you can see that!" Rainbow sighed as she flew out of the bedroom. Twilight sat on her bed.

"Spike.....did you have a nightmare about Sombra?"

Spike nodded.

"Want to talk about it?"

Spike shook his head.

Twilight sighed, but smiled warmly. "Okay. But I'm sleeping win you tonight, alright?"

Spike nodded. "Okay."

Twilight sighed as she layed by Spike. Neither of them could fall asleep.
