Chapter 30

I sat on the library balcony that Lunar and Twilight had abandoned. I looked out over the place that had become home for me in the past few months. It's sad to know that I'm leaving. I will come back one day though. Even if it's just to visit. However, the happiness of existence comes before my own.

I heard the windows open behind me. Morkar stepped out and sat next to me. For a few seconds neither of us said anything.

"You're party is almost ready."

"I know. Morkar, what would've happened if the regulator had 'contained' me?"

"That is one of the few things that I don't know. Anyone who has ever been contained, has never come back. Rumor is that you are trapped in a desert land, but it is most likely not the case. Even the best of us lose sometimes, remember that. I used to know a man just like you. Well he wasn't really a man, as he wasn't human, but he was a male. Anyway, he was a great warrior, and friend. He fought just like you, never hesitating and rushing in."

"What happened to him?"

"I don't know. Last time we heard, he was off on some distant planet. He disappeared after that, and we believe that he may have been contained. Some believe that the regulators managed to erase his soul, thereby erasing him. Some will think that you are that blank soul."

"Am I, it's a possibility."

"No. He never had the will to win as you do. That is something that would stick with a soul. His first life wasn't very easy. I won't go into detail, it's his story to tell. No, I think he's still out there somewhere, either held captive, or fighting still."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"It will give you a serious advantage."

"How?"

"His first life was spent on Acrium, where he grew up. He saved the world from a great disaster, and they praised him. When you go there, you're going to take his form, and pretend that you are his soul reincarnation."

Wow, that's like inception, but with reincarnation. "Why?"

"The people there will love you, and word will spread like fire. Other souls like us will rise to fight under your banner."

"My fake one."

"We don't have any other option at the moment."

"How will I take his form?"

"When you enter the world think of the form you wish to take, and instead of being given one like here, you will assume that one. I'll give you my knowledge of what he looked like. Also remember to take all your things with you. I'm not sure how, but physical things can traverse the stream as well."

"What was his name?"

"Poltagon, lord of the winds."

"Sounds like a man of action."

"You have no idea."

At that moment the windows burst open and Rarity walked through.

"You going to attend your own party?"

It was weird. They didn't treat me different, even though I was. At first I thought that they would all act differently, but everyone seemed to accept that I was still Silver. I walked down stairs, leaving Morkar alone, and out the door. Sugarcube Corner was lit up like a skyscraper. I stooped and walked inside. There wasn't a lot of ponies there, just the five mares, Lunar, and the guys. I walked inside and everyone cheered. Fluttershy was nowhere to be seen, and I couldn't blame her.

The party, while fun, had an air of finality around it. Everyone knew that this was the last time I would be here. I was approached by everyone, all saying their goodbyes, and giving me well-wishes. Lunar had apparently been lost in the crowd, and I couldn't see him anywhere. I ducked out of the party, and saw Lunar looking up at the night sky. I sat down next to him and said nothing.

"I'm never going to see you again am I?"

"Of course you will. I'll come back eventually."

"That could be years from now, maybe even centuries. I'll probably be dead by then."

"I'm going to tell you a secret. You'll probably forget soon, but it'll comfort you when I leave. Time doesn't make any sense. Morkar says I could be back anytime from tomorrow, until after eternity. However, the fact is you'll be alive no matter how long it takes. The ponies here have never experienced death, hell they've probably never seen blood until the fight. Remember when I said even Equestira couldn't conquer death? Well I was wrong. Didn't you notice that when Luna was tossing you around that you never felt pain?"

"Well actually ya I did, but it didn't seem important until just now."

"That's exactly it. The ponies here will never die, but they won't notice that they have lived forever."

"So do our memories get erased or something?"

"No, although bad ones get smoothed over. I can't really explain it. You just won't notice it. Soon you'll forget about this discussion completely."

"Well that's helpful."

"For now it is, so why don't you come back and party? After all if this place isn't as awesome when I get back as it was when I leave, I'll have to fix everything."

We went back inside, and two new additions to the party also joined us. Princesses Celestia and Luna greeted us as we walked back inside. Luna had kept her height growth, and now stood about a foot taller than Celestia. It was funny to see Celestia looking up at Luna, and still trying to be the big sister.

"So Silver care to explain exactly what went on here in the last few days, and why you are… different?"

"Nope, you can ask someone else. I'm done here."

Celestia dropped her voice, catching me off guard, "Well in that case, we can go outside, and due to your size change, you can 'ride' me properly."

I coughed violently, and everyone focused on me. I blushed as they all looked away and I gave Celestia a nasty glare, "That's the most disgusting thing ever. I don't even want to think about it. I mean were not even close in anatomy."

Celestia raised an eyebrow, "Well you have a stick, and I have a hole, so to speak."

I nearly ran away from her, hearing her laughter follow me. She was just too damn creepy. The party continued at a slowed pace, but eventually ponies began to leave. Eventually it was just me, Lunar, and the 5 mares. As I waited, we talked about all the time we had spent together. They dropped off one by one, until only Twilight was awake.

"You are coming again, aren't you?"

"I hadn't realized I had once."

She hit me with a hoof, "You know what I mean."

"I promise, I'll be back. I can't say when, but eventually I'll get back here. No matter what I have to do."

She sighed and said, "What if you have to do Celestia?"

"Do you want me to come back? Besides, I know you all will miss me too much, so I have to don't I?"

I don't know if Twilight heard all of that, because she was sleeping on the floor with the rest of the ponies. I got up silently and walked out the door. I met Morkar, and together we walked towards the hill where I had first arrived. Morkar kept reminding me of what I had to do, it was annoying actually.

"Morkar I know what I have to do. Don't worry about me. Make sure to keep these ponies safe for me alright?"

"Of course, although I doubt anything will come this way."

"I'll see you later then, remember I'm going to need you someday, so don't get lazy."

"I never forget what I have learned."

"Of course you don't. I have one more favor to ask of you."

"Oh?"

I whispered to him my idea, and he just shook his head. He did as I asked however, and in a flash of light, it was done. A large statue of my Pegasus self was on the hill. It stood on a pedestal, which had a plaque on front of it. The plaque read: "Silver, the fastest flier in Equestria."

"Looks like I'm all set then."

I strapped on the pack that Morkar had given me, full of books on various things. I grabbed my blade and held it in my hand. My necklace once again in it's proper place. The reassuring weight of my knife in my pocket. I looked once more over Ponyville,

"See you later."

Morkar opened up a hole back to the stream where I had cut through originally. Without hesitation I leapt through it. The hole closed behind me, sealing off a silent Ponyville.

AN: Well that's about it I think. I'm going to do an epilogue, or maybe several, but they will be from Lunar's point of view. So don't say goodbye just yet. In fact, I could say we're just getting started. Until next time, HAYO!
