Still on Lunar's point of view!

I woke up, before Twilight surprisingly. I quietly got up and walked downstairs. I put some water on for tea. Twilight without tea is not a pretty sight. I woke spike up, and he got started on breakfast. My cooking skills were horrible, and Twilight didn't even have any. I walked outside to get started on my mail route, but what I saw made me consider taking the day off.

I walked back inside the library and sat on a chair. The couch was pushed off to the side. It didn't feel right to sit on it. The water began to whistle and Spike prepared two cups of tea. Twilight walked down, and I didn't say a word. She instantly brightened as soon as she took a sip.

"So why haven't you started on your mail route?"

"I'm taking the day off."

"Why?"

"There's a giant metal ship in the sky, and I think that's a viable reason to miss work."

"Oh."

I waited for a few seconds, counting to five in my head.

"Wait… What?!"

"Ya there's a giant space ship above us right now."

"And you're not panicking why?"

"I'm just going to ignore it, and enjoy a nice day at home."

"Come on we have to check this out."

Regrettably, I got up and followed Twilight out of the library. She ran ahead of me and gasped when she looked up.

"Alright, we checked it out, I'm going to go back to sleep now."

Rarity ,Pinkie, and Rainbow joined us outside the library.

"Oh hey girls, enjoying the view?"

"What's going on?"

"No idea, but I'm going back to sleep."

I started to walk back into the library, but my muscles stopped obeying me. Twilight pulled me back with magic and set me down.

"No we need to figure out what's going on here."

"But I don't care, I just want to sleep on my day off."

"Too bad."

Applejack joined us, and soon Fluttershy came by as well. We all just stared up at the ship for awhile. It was big and black, and very ship-like. I don't know how else to describe it. It wasn't star wars style, it was bulky. It was way too far away for me to actually pick out any details about it.

"Look there!" Rainbow pointed her hoof up in the sky.

Ya that was helpful. 'Look at the giant thing in the sky!'. However, it wasn't the giant thing she was pointing at. A small dot was falling from the ship, and falling fast. As I got closer I could see that it was a humanoid shape.

I turned to Rainbow, "Aren't you going to catch it?"

"Oh yeah!" She took off into the sky.

The thing got closer to the ground as Rainbow sped towards it. Before she could catch it, the thing spread wings, that I hadn't known were there. They were like balloons that filled up, and slowed his descent. He landed close to us, with rainbow next to him.

"Alright, I'm going now."

"Not yet, we have to see what that thing was."

I gave her an audible sigh. "Fine."

We waited for Rainbow to come back, and when she did, the thing was walking next to her. It was bipedal, a humanoid. It was at least 7 ft tall, towering over us. It had long arms, one of which looked metallic. It had wings on its back, but they weren't bird wings. They were like a bats, leathery. The wings were folded down on the things back, and seemed to sag a little. His legs were bent oddly, but didn't look broken. His eyes were a deep forest green, and his face was smooth and friendly looking. His black hair was long, but tied back in a pony tail. He wore a brown leather jacket, with holes in the back to accommodate his wings. He wore black shorts, revealing his odd legs.

Not many ponies were out this time of day, but the ones that were stopped and stared at the thing. He walked up to us and said, "Good day mates."

Well I'll be, he speaks my language.

Twilight opened her mouth to speak to him, but he held up a hand,

"Before we play twenty questions, you got any grub?"

Twilight closed her mouth, and led him into the library. He stuffed his mouth with bread, refusing to eat the flowers. While he was eating Twilight said,

"So care to explain yourself?"

He swallowed and said, "They call me Skies, and I'm part of the Anti-Space patrol. For you, that means that I fly with my squad, scouting out for nasties up in the stars. Well I used to anyway, now I'm stuck here."

"What nasties?"

"Well it probably means nothing to you, but we call 'em regulators. I won't be here for long maybe one or two days."

He leaned back in his chair and pulled something from under his shirt. It was a necklace, with a solid coin and a loop on it. He played with it as Twilight took in this information.

"Wait… Is that you Silver?"

He looked up at the mention of the name, stared at Twilight, and then let out a booming laugh. It was a laugh that made you want to laugh.

"Wait. You think I'm Silver? Commander Monoromei? One of the greatest soul warriors? Ha! Well if you know his true name, then you must know more then I gave you credit for. Tell me, did you hear that an ambush was planned at Lost Izalith?"

"Well yes actually, but wasn't that almost a year ago? And I thought it was called Izalith."

Wow, I can't believe Twilight even remembered the name. I had forgotten all about that. Know that she mentioned that though, I haven't checked on Morkar's tower this week.

"A year ago? Huh, the time flow here is really messed up. No the battle happened only a few days ago. We call it Lost Izalith, because Izalith as a whole planet doesn't exist anymore. We lost the battle."

"What?! Is Silver okay?"

"I don't know. I wasn't on the front lines. We were protectin' the escape routes. However, I did hear rumors and tales of what happened. From what I gathered, it happened like this. The force of regulators was much bigger than we had anticipated. When they came into view, many of the men turned and fled. However, a few stayed, and they fought with Monoromei and Jarvel. They say that Jarvel called for a retreat only a few minutes after the battle had started. Monoromei was too far in though, and he didn't retreat. One soldier said he just gave up and dropped his sword, another said he threw his sword to Jarvel and fought without it. Whatever the case Commander Monoromei is missing."

"Oh…"

"I wouldn't worry about it. The commander has a knack for getting into trouble, and coming out of it for the better."

We all looked at each other with grim faces. Twilight asked, "Why did you come here then?"

"I didn't really plan on it. We were being followed by a small segment of the regulator force, and we had to separate. We left one man to sail the ship, and the rest of us jumped."

"Then why did we only see you?"

"Oh we all jumped to different planets, we accessed a sort of portal that leads everywhere, and jumped at random. It's a great tactic to confuse regulators, I just hope our captain gets out of there okay."

"So how will you get back?"

"Oh a ship will come by in time to pick us up. From there we go back to scouting. Commander Jarvel has given us orders to find Monoromei, but I think he'll find us first."

"So did Silver… I mean Monoromei form an army to fight the regulators?"

"Well… yes and no. There is the three commanders, Morkar, Monoromei, and Jarvel. Then there is the Anti-Space patrol, that scouts for regulators, and their sections of existence. We're more of a hit and run group. As proven, we don't stand a chance in fair combat. It's hard to explain accurately."

Skies had nothing else to tell us as 'he wasn't in on the commanders personal lives'. However, one thing was clear, Silver had been busy.

"Just one more question. What are you?"

"Ah now that I can answer. I am the last member of an extinct race. Well technically anyway. Some still take this form, but I was the last born into this form. I don't remember the name of our race, but we once lived in a great floating city on the planet Acrium. The fabled warrior Poltagon was one of us. I don't really know the history, as I was raised away from the city, and I had no desire to find out."

At one point, Skies found the statue of Silver, and stared at in awe.

"So you're telling me this is where Monoromei started. It's almost an honor to be here, where he once stood. It also brings him down though. I know now that he wasn't always as strong as he is now. It makes him seem more… real."

A few day later, a ship did come by. Skies, he told us he couldn't say his real name, said his goodbyes. He wasn't there long enough, and many ponies were secretly glad when he left. When the ship arrived over head he spread his wings, and oddly they filled up with air. He stood on the ground, for a few seconds. Then without warning, a large boom could be heard, and he shot upwards at ridiculous speed.

"Wow, from 0 to speed of sound in less than a second. Impressive."
