Meet Diplo. He's a regular dude that works at a fast food restaurant in a small town in the US of A. Reliable and dependable to managers and employees alike, he lives a relatively normal life, and he prefers that it remain that way. Of course, it doesn't remain that way. The government decides to embark on a new project: exploring other realities that aren't their own. They send a special invitation to people at random to attend a "special meeting," and an unnamed official shows up at Diplo's fast food restaurant and delivers one to him. Being the curious nut he is, he shows up at the address and next thing he knows, they're showing him what's going on... then telling him he likely isn't coming back... then sending him off into what he could only describe as the land of pure imagination, except it's real and he's not sure if he'll like it or not.
