It was a beautiful day in Equestria. Everyone was enjoying the sunshine, by going outside by either playing sports or just going for a nice nature, but we are not going to be focusing on the entire populace. No, we are going to be focusing on three very specific people. To be even more specific we are focusing on a family. The father of said family was currently tending to a grill where he was cooking up some burgers. He had an orange skin tone and a red and black mohawk for his hair. There standing next to the grill was a picnic table which was currently being set up by a woman, who had a brown skin tone and black hair stilled so that it covered half of her face. And of course was also a five-year-old kid who was currently playing with a ball. He also had a brown skin tone and black hair which he had cut into a buzz cut. "Hey, Leo it's time to eat come and get it!"

"Coming dad." With that, Leo picked up his ball and ran over to the picnic table.

"Woah there tiger slow down or you'll trip." Said the mother while placing down three plates with their respective burgers on it. After that, the father closed up the grill and sat down with the rest of the family. Then they all started to eat their respective burgers. After about five minutes the father asked.

"So sport how are you enjoying your day in Camp Everfree."

"I like it. It's really fun. Can we come here next week as well?" Asked Leo.

"Sure Leo will see if we can get off work at the weekend." Said the mother. After that she smiled, because Leo had the happiest smile that she had ever seen. "Now Leo finish up your lunch so that we can go and play later." With that, they enjoyed the rest of their meal in piece.

After about three hours of enjoying themselves. The father said.

"Okay, guys I already packed up everything. Let's go home." Leo was sad that they had to leave but he still got into the car. "Seat belts fastened?" He nodded. "Okay then let's go." Then he started the car and we drove off." After about five minutes of them driving in the forest, the mother asked.

"Um, honey are we lost."

"No, I know where we are going." After another minute he said. "No, let me rephrase that we are lost. Hey, what are those green lights?" After he got closer he saw what it was.

When he finally recognised what they were. He quickly turned the car around and drove off. "Damned timberwolves. I thought we left those behind when we left Equestria. Ah well, that's just my luck." One of them caught up to the car and bashed himself into it making it swerve. "Oh, so we playing like that are we." Then he snapped his fingers and then the car grew spikes after that he bashed the car into the wolf killing it, but what he didn't see is that one of the bigger wolves stepped out making the car crash into him destroying him immediately.

"Okay, I didn't expect that." Said the mother. After some time the wolves gave up.

"Okay now that we lost them let's... The breaks are not working." And after that, the car started to swerve. "And the steering's shot. Hold on tight this might be a rocky. Oh shit." After that, they hit a tree head on. Wrecking the car completely. It destroyed it so bad that it caught fire. After the parents came to they quickly tried to unbuckle themselves but were sadly unsuccessful. After that, they woke up Leo. When he did the mother said.

"Leo, listen to me you have to run away now before the car explodes." Said the mother. "Unbuckle yourself and run. Run and don't look back!"

"But mum, dad I don't want to leave you two to die out here." Cried, Leo.

"Leo please don't make this any harder than it has to be. Now go." Said the father. After that, the father unbuckled his son. Then Leo opened the car door and started to run. He ran and ran like his life was on the line. After two minutes he heard an explosion and then he ran even faster. When another five minutes he was too exhausted to run anymore and he simply fell unconscious.

When Leo woke up again he noticed that he was inside of a cave, but that wasn't the weird part. The weird part was that he was completely clean. After he finished his look around, he heard a deep voice say. "Ah, your awake child." After that Leo turned around and he saw a big dragon facing him.

Leo jumped back and tried to run away, but the dragon grabbed him with his tail and placed him back on the pile of leaves that Leo just now noticed that he was sleeping on. "Now child don't be afraid I'm not going to hurt you. Let's start with names my name is Zyon and who are you?" Asked the now named Zyon.

"Um, my name's Leo. Nice to meet you. Um, can I ask a question?" Then Zyon grinned.

"You just did, but yeah you can."

"What are you? I mean what species are you?" After that, the dragon started to laugh. "Hey what's so funny?"

"Oh it's nothing Leo it's just that usually people already know what I am, but I guess people change over a thousand years time. I am what is known as a dragon, but to be more specific a European dragon." Then his ears twitched and then he said. "It looks like dinner has arrived." After that, another dragon appeared at the entrance of the cave. She looked to be the same species as Zyon but the only difference was that she had purple scales.

"Honey I'm home and I brought a huge haul of fish with me." She said while dropping off the huge pile of fish on the ground. "Oh and look, the child's awake as well how wonderful. Hiya there my name's Midnight and who are you."

"Uhm my name's Leo. It's nice to meet you." Then he turned to Zyon. "Um, could you tell me what you are going to do with me?" Then Midnight spoke up.

"Well we are going to raise you since when we found you we tried to find your real parents, but we sadly didn't find anything." After that Leo remembered what happened and then he started to cry. "Woah there Leo, what's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" Then she dropped the food and went over to Leo and dropped a wing around him, hugging him. After around five minutes of him crying Leo finally calmed down and then Zyon decided to ask.

"Leo, are you calmed down enough to tell us what happened before we found you?"

"Yeah 'sniff' I think I can." Then he breathed in and out and then he began his explanation of what happened happened. Everything from the timberwolves attack to his parents dying. After that Midnight said

"Oh, you poor thing. You must have gone through allot, but don't you worry anymore we are going to take care of you." Then she gave him another wing hug and then she went to the fish. "So how do you like your fish rare, medium or well done."

"Um well done please." After that, she breathes a small stream of fire and cooks it to perfection. When she finished her cooking she put the fish on a leaf and handed it to Leo.

"Here you go and make sure to not choke on the bones." With that, she placed a fish in front of Zyon and herself then they cooked it and they started to eat.

After they finished their meals midnight went to smoke the rest of the fish while Zyon took Leo outside to do something. "So Leo what do you do for fun?"

"Well, I usually play football with my dad. I guess we could try that."

"Okay several questions come to mind, but I think that the most prominent one is. What is this football and how do you play it?"

"Oh, this is going to be a long day." Said Leo. After that, he continued to explain the game to him. After around twenty minutes of explaining Zyon knew how to play the game.

"Okay then wait right here and I am going to go and find us a ball." After that, he flew away to find said ball while I simply sat down and waited. After about a minute Leo got bored, so he picked up a stick and started to draw the football field. After around ten minutes he heard Midnight say.

"Hey, Leo what are you doing? And where's Zyon?" She asked while her face contoured into a frown.

"Oh don't be mad at him. He went into the forest to find me a ball so that we could play a game. As for what I'm doing, I'm drawing the field so that we can play." That seemed to have calmed her down.

"Hey, can I join as well?"

"Sure. Let me just explain the rules." With that, he repeated the explanation to Midnight. When he finally finished the explanation, Zyon returned with a little bit of a selection of different balls. He had everything from basketballs to bowling balls to baseballs.

"Zyon did you go to the town and found those at the dump." Asked Midnight. He nodded and then he said.

"Yeah, I did. You would be surprised what the humans throw away. I also went to the stream to clean them up." After that, he dropped them all down and asked. "So is anyone of them a football?" After that Leo took a look and after some searching, he finally found a football he picked it up and said.

"Okay then lets play." With that, they all went into positions and started to play.

After around two hours of play time we heard a loud roar and after that, a bright light appeared. "Leo duck." After that, I quickly ducked and when I did a huge fireball went over him. After that, he heard two new voices.

"Zyon get away from that human. He's going to kill you." Said a dragon that looked something like this.

The other dragon looked like this.

"What are you talking about? First, this is only a child and he is our adoptive son so you will make sure to either calm down and get down here or leave." Said Zyon. After that, they looked confused but after a minute they both got down. After that the one with the purple scales said.

"Look I'm sorry for my husband's rash behaviour I really tried to stop him, but he newer listens. Let's introduce us. My name is Amelia and that grumpy dragon over there is named Axel."

"Hello there. Again I'm sorry for my little outburst over there it's just that I don't have a good history with humans. So who are you guys?" Then Zyon decided to speak up while Midnight took checked Leo for damages.

"My name is Zyon over there is my mate Midnight and the human is called Leo. Now can I ask you what you are doing here?" After that Axel answered.

"Oh, we were just moving to a cave that is not far from here, because of food reasons. I hope you don't mind." Then Zyon smiled.

"Of course I don't mind you guys go right ahead. There's enough food for everyone. Now if you excuse us it's getting late and we need to prepare to go to sleep. With that, I wish you goodnight." After that, he picked up all of the toys and put them away while Midnight picked Leo up and placed him on his back.

"Um, Midnight what are you doing?" After that, she launched herself into the air with him screaming the whole time. after the initial shock wore off, he stopped screaming and looked around and was completely baffled by the view. After a minute of that, he asked. "So where are we going?"

"We are going to a hot spring to bathe you and after that, we are going to go to bed. Now hold on." After that, she dive-bombed straight down with Leo enjoying every step of the way. When they finally landed Midnight quickly wrapped her tail around Leo and set him on the ground. After that, she got into the water. "Come on Leo get undressed and get it the water's perfect." At first, he looked a little bit embarrassed, but then he realised that she is walking around naked so with that in mind he slowly undressed and after that, he entered into the water and when he did he simply sighed and enjoyed the warmth. "Well, you seem to be enjoying yourself. Is the water warm enough?"

"Yeah, it's perfect." After that, they simply enjoyed the water. After around fifteen minutes we were all gathered in the cave and we were ready to go to sleep.

"So did you enjoy yourself today Leo?" Asked Zyon.

"Well besides for almost dying twice and for losing my parents. It was actually quite fun and I hope to have even more of them in the future." Then he yawned.

"Well, then you enjoy your rest. Goodnight Leo." Said Midnight.

"Goodnight Leo." Said Zyon.

"Goodnight mum, goodnight dad." He said and after that, they all fell asleep.

Well here's the first chapter this story I hope you enjoyed it the next chapter will be also a little backstory, but after that we are going to truly get started with it.
