My Lunch With A Wolf
We now return to the Transformers...
Back in the city, the girls were now walking together in an attempt to look for Vertebreak. But alas, they were having no luck. Whenever they kept finding a signal belonging to him, they always failed to find him. Where could that snake have gone? But their situation wasn't gaining any good luck.
Whenever a signal blinked for them to go find it, they always went into that direction. But by the time they had arrived to the pinpoint, the signal was gone, and they had to go to another direction after seeing a new signal. What made it even stranger was that he wasn't even in sight. Where could he have gone?
Out of all of the girls in the group, Rainbow Dash was the most impatient. She was too worried for the health of Sideswipe and it was starting to get to her.
"UGH! Can't we just split up into smaller groups!? We can cover more ground from there," Rainbow said.
"Rainbow, Sideswipe was knocked out because he was by himself. We don't even know how strong this 'Vertebreak' is. Better to be in bigger groups than risk the chance we can all get captured," Applejack said.
"But I... I can't... AGH! I can't just let that Con get away with Sideswipe's kidney!"
"Uh, it was a transformation cog," Fluttershy quietly said.
"I still can't just let him get away with it! Sideswipe means everything to me, I'll do anything I can to make sure he gets his cog back."
"As noble as that is Rainbow, we can't just go off into a random direction trying to find him. His signal keeps on dropping and every time he comes back, he's in a different location," Twilight said sighing, "I hope Sunset's having better luck than we are."
"Yeah... although don't you think its weird Sunset just ran off and hasn't called us back yet? She shouldn't be gone that long," Pinkie said, "Unless she's secretly got a cave where she's stored lots of cake!"
"Um... I don't think that would be the case," Fluttershy said.
"Maybe she's on her way back with the Decepticon. For all we know she caught him, or her, depending on who she found," Twilight said.
"Um Twilight? I think she's on her way back... and she has the Decepticon with her..." Pinkie said pointing ahead of them.
The six girls turned around to see Sunset riding on her motorcycle speeding towards them with a blue muscle car driving right behind her. And immediately they began to transform their weapons, ready for action.
Sunset skidded across the concrete road on her bike, trying to halt it as she moved closer to her friends. She moved quickly enough and she slammed the breaks on the bike and slided it across the ground and looked up to her friends.
"Hey girls," Sunset said before taking off her helmet, letting her fiery hair flow, "Did you find Vertebreak yet?"
The blue muscle car slowly pulled up behind her and sat there, waiting for when they would want to know more about him.
"No we didn't. He keeps appearing and disappearing everywhere and every time we try to find him, he's nowhere to be seen," Twilight said before looking at the Decepticon, "Why is there a Decepticon with you?"
Sunset looked to the car behind her and chuckled, "Oh, uh... well..." Sunset cleared her throat, "Girls I'm making a new decision. I met this Decepticon back in the woods. He's one of the escaped prisoners from the Alchemor. Weirdwolf, transform!"
Weirdwolf obeyed and he converted himself into his alternate form, revealing his wolf-like structure.
"Greetings sisters," Weirdwolf said with a bow.
The girls, still wearing their power suits, all snarled at him.
"Sunset. Why is he following you, and why isn't he in stasis cuffs?" Rainbow asked gritting her teeth.
"That's the other thing girls," Sunset said, "He's on probation."
"WHAT!?" All of the girls yelled.
"Sunset, you... you... Let me get this straight. You're letting him just walk out in the open with you without any form of restraint on him?" Twilight said.
"Yes, I am. I'm showing him a sign that I can trust him," Sunset replied, "And I'm keeping my eye on him to make sure he won't do anything. He's under my supervision."
"Sunset, why are you letting him even walk with you?"
Weirdwolf raised a paw to get their attention.
"Your friend Flamewheels, ahem, Sunset... my apologies, is allowing me to be on probation so I can prove to you and your Autobot friends that I am reformed, and want to live here now, peacefully."
They didn't change their facial expressions, and continued to give dirty looks to the canine.
"Girls...", Sunset said.
"Sunset. I really don't think this is a good idea. Also, just looking on the prisoner manifest, I'm not sure if its wise to have him be in probation."
"Why?" Sunset asked.
Twilight's suit converted back into a motorcycle, allowing her to get back on her real feet. She pulled out a handheld console and pulled up the prisoner manifest, revealing his mugshot as it came onto her screen.

"We looked ahead, and we found a few mugshots and profiles that related to Decepticons with canine structures. But this one was the closest one we found matching what you said," Twilight said. "It says that Weirdwolf here, worked for Megatron."
Sunset looked back at Weirdwolf still keeping a friendly look, and looked back at the girls.
"So? Knockout worked for Megatron and he's with us."
"It doesn't end here...", Rainbow said, "We read some more, and he's committed a ton of crimes. Stole weaponry, caused property damage, defied arrest, and the most recent note it says he murdered his teammates when he was sent on a mission to retrieve the Allspark."
The girls looked back from Twilight over to the canine who gave a nervous chuckle, but still stayed with them. Even Sunset gave a nervous look.
Weirdwolf cleared his throat, "Okay... about that last part, I'm going to tell you girls now, I didn't murder my teammates. Yes I did steal things for the Decepticons, and yes I defied arrest from police officers, but I didn't kill any of my comrades in cold blood. That was all of the doing of a very peculiar Decepticon," he said with a snarl.
"Why do you say you didn't kill them when it clearly says so on your profile?" Applejack asked.
"I'll give you my side of the story. But... shouldn't we talk somewhere else? We're in the middle of a street and I'm positive the humans here use this road every day. No point in going on it if there's a giant canine and several Headmasters blocking it."
Sunset looked around, and sure enough he was right. There were some people trying to drive around and they weren't too happy.
"He's right. We should talk somewhere else. And I know where we can talk," Sunset said.
Once they got out of the streets, Sunset led them all to a diner for them to eat some much needed lunch. Luckily for them it was an outdoor place, so Weirdwolf's size was big enough for them to sit with them. Although he did receive many angry stares from the civilians that saw him sit with the girls, especially since he had Decepticon logos on his shoulders.
But the inside of the restaurant was styled with a 1950s style. Red seats, chrome plating on some of the walls and on the countertop, and there was a checkered floor like racing flags. Also around them were several posters of a few bands, some cars, and even a few advertising posters.
On the outside, there were several circular tables with a few umbrella's over them, blocking the sunlight from their eyes. Luckily this wasn't a problem for Weirdwolf.
"Sunset, are you sure its wise to speak here? With all of these humans here, especially since I'm wearing these," he said pointing to his logos, "I'm not sure I'll be welcome here."
"Don't worry, you'll be okay. You're with us," Sunset said.
"Sunset, I have to agree with Mr. Weirdwolf; this doesn't seem like such a good idea," Rarity said, "With all of these people here, it could ruin our image."
"Rarity, once they see how nice of a guy he is, its gonna change his image. Especially if he's hanging out with us," Sunset said.
"Okay...", Rarity said biting her teeth.
Weirdwolf looked around, observing everyone all dining in peace.
"So this place is..."
"Its a diner. Its one of many places we go to so we can refuel and get the energy we need to live. Kind of like how you guys eat Energon."
Weirdwolf nodded, "I see. And I must say this place as a very interesting style of decor."
Sunset looked around, observing the decor.
"Oh that's another thing. Many diners and restaurants in this town have their own style of decoration. This place is decorated with the trends and memories of the1950s, one of the timelines on this planet," Sunset replied.
"But I have to ask, why did you invite me here? Isn't this place only for human consumption?"
"Well here's the other thing. Since the Autobots have been living here, they've begun to open up some of these places for the Bots to eat at. So Energon and anything that you guys call fuel is on the menu for you."
Weirdwolf looked at the menu on the table with the label that read Cybertronian Menu. His eyes went from left to right as he read what they had available, and a smirk came on his face.
"I think I'll order some Energon if you don't mind," Weirdwolf stated.
"Of course," Sunset said, "Lets see... what is on the menu for today?"
As the girls read through their menus, the waitstaff came by to their table.
"Good afternoon, my name is Trayline, I will be your waiter for today," the waiter said holding a notepad in his hand. "May I start you all off with something to drink?"
"Um, sure, I would like the plain milk please," Sunset said.
"Alright," the waiter said taking down the note. But he paused as he looked up to the wolf-con sitting next to Sunset. "Anything for you... sir?"
Weirdwolf shook his head, "No thank you sir."
"Very well," the waiter said unsure.
Once the waiter took all of their orders, he went off to go fill them out to the staff in the kitchen, all the while the group continued to sit together and talk.
"So... Werewolf--" Rainbow began.
"Weirdwolf."
"--Weirdwolf... is sitting with a bunch of humans weird to you?"
"Nope."
Rainbow raised a brow, "You sure?"
The Decepticon chuckled, "I'm positive. I actually thought your friend Sunset here was a human the minute she showed off her Headmaster abilities. The Headmaster bodies are more bulky and blocky, but with the suit your friend had, it had no resemblance to the Headmasters I've seen... also a couple of humans have seen me and I have actually interacted with a few of them. One of which was quite crazy and insisted on taking me in as an alien pet."
"Wait. Did he look old, tinfoil hat?" Applejack asked.
"Disgusting and ragged tank top?" Rarity cringed.
"Yes... you know him?"
"Oh yeah we do. He's my neighbor next door, he's um... interesting."
"And by interesting you mean interestingly crazy!" Pinkie screamed, "He keeps stalking us and claiming we're aliens just because he saw a few videos of our magic!"
Weirdwolf's head tilted and his ears turned a bit, "Magic?"
"Uh, its a long story," Sunset said.
"But if you don't mind, I have a question to ask you. Just how did you get thrown onto the Alchemor in the first place, if you said you didn't commit murder? Care to explain that little detail?" Rainbow said raising a brow.
Weirdwolf just smiled still keeping himself calm.
"I will gladly do so. Now where was that? Oh now I remember. During a mission on Cybertron, I was assigned with two Decepticons to extract the Allspark from the Cybertron Elite Guard. However what I didn't know during this was that the Decepticons had learned I was planning on betraying them and going off on my own to find my own home in peace. But during that mission..."
Weirdwolf walked in an abandoned city on a corner of Cybertron that was lifeless and dead. There were no lights, the ground was dark and gray, and the only bits of life were himself and the two Decepticons that walked with him.
"Okay... Fright Face, Fangs. The Autobot base is just up ahead. Once we sneak in, we can grab the Allspark and get out of this lifeless town," Weirdwolf said.
"Only one thing we need to do first Weirdwolf," Fright Face said.
"And what's that?"
"This."
Looking behind him, the two Decepticons pulled out guns and pointed it to him as the warmed up with energy ready to fire.
"Wait... what is this?"
"Its lights out for you Weirdwolf. Shockwave knows you've been thinking about betraying us," Fangs said.
"No... No, I haven't! I swear to Solus Prime, I haven't been considering the very thought!" Weirdwolf panicked. He slowly backed away with his hands up in surrender.
"There's no point in trying to plead your innocence Weirdwolf. The boss knows you're a defector. And now... you're going to be put down. Bye bye wolfie..."
"Wait a minute!"
"Who's Fright Face and Fangs?" Pinkie asked tilting her head, "They don't even sound like real bots."
Weirdwolf sighed, "They were canine Decepticons like me, can we keep moving?"
"But what kind of names are those? They just sound silly," Pinkie giggled.
"And yet your name is Pinkie Pie, yet I see no signs of the term 'pie' within your look."
Pinkie giggled, "Point taken."
"Just keep going. What happened next?" Twilight asked.
"Well, just as they were getting ready to fry my spark..."
"Bye bye wolfie..."
Weirdwolf backed up some more, bracing himself for when he would be met with several shots going right through his spark and armor.
But before Fright Face could make the shot, a large hammer was thrown to his face, knocking him down to the ground, while the hammer landed behind him. Weirdwolf's eyes slowly opened and he noticed the hammer on the ground. He turned his head and saw a pair of glowing red eyes in the alleyway.
"What the..."
"Relax... I'm not gonna kill you... I'm gonna kill them."
Jumping up into the air, the Decepticon pounded on the other standing Decepticon and Weirdwolf could only stand and watch in horror as the mystery Con slaughtered him to pieces. Wiring was ripped out of his chest, pieces of armored plating was pulled off, and the Con that was pinned to the ground was screaming in agony and pain.
"No... please! Grant me mercy!"
"There is no mercy from me... and tonight you pay for the price of our planet's desecration..."
Weirdwolf could only stand in horror as he watched the mystery machine mutilate his former partners. He had no interest in interfering and trying to save them. They had found him out and they were planning on killing him, so what was the point?
A few minutes had past when the mystery Decepticon emerged from the shadows, claiming his victory. Weirdwolf's former allies that were about to kill him were now dead. Destroyed. Obliterated by another Decepticon. But there was just one thing he needed to know...
"W-Who are you? Why did you save me?"
The Decepticon turned himself around and he stared at Weirdwolf with a pair of menacing red eyes, that illuminated. And staring at his face, he could see a few features on his body. There was a bit scar running down his face, big Decepticon insignias on fins that resembled car doors that stuck out of his back, a vehicular grill on his chest with a few headlights on it, and tires built into his legs.
"I only saved you because I've seen you... you think like me... you want nothing of this war, to have no part of it... and those two carried Energon that I need to live... You've just given me the energy boost I need. And for that, I eternally thank you..."
Weirdwolf only stared with his menacing glowing eyes, "Well then, I humbly thank you for doing so."
The Decepticon just grinned evilly.
"Your welcome... now go. The Cybertronian Police Force will be giving chase, and I know you don't wish to be locked up for your crimes."
Weirdwolf nodded quickly, "Right. Thanks again."
Weirdwolf's body converted into a car mode that hovered in the air, and he zoomed off down the empty road in an attempt to flee the scene, not looking back to see the Decepticon drag the corpses of his former partners...
"... After the police forces found me, I tried to plead my innocence, but they wouldn't hear it. So I wound up locked up on the Alchemor, and from there, I lost all hope to redeem myself... until now."
"But why do you want to live here on this planet?" Fluttershy asked.
"Because on this planet, there is so much life to be discovered, and a divine culture to thrive from. And on this planet, I can begin a new life for myself far from the endless war, in peace. Now is that so wrong?" Weirdwolf asked with puppy-dog eyes.
Fluttershy stared at the wolf-con with an unamused look, both eyebrows furled at him.
"What? Nothing?" Weirdwolf asked.
Fluttershy shook her head.
"Huh. Usually the eyes work on most of the Cybertronians," Weirdwolf shrugged.
"Not all of us," Applejack said.
Far off on another table, an older couple sat and stared at the strange being that sat at the table with the girls. Neither one of them were looking particularly pleased to see that a Decepticon of all people was sitting with them.
"Mmm... a Decepticon, don't you see dearie?"
"Yes, I see it quite clearly. Can't believe a disgusting creature like that is in this facility..."
Weirdwolf's ear twitched and he let out a wolf snarl when he heard who called to him. But he didn't attack. Instead he turned his head halfway to look at the snooty couple and snarled at them, revealing his wolf-ish form which sent chills down their spines.
"Hey!" Sunset snapped.
Weirdwolf stopped and sighed, "I apologize for the snarling, but there was a couple back there saying highly rude things about me and I don't appreciate it. Maybe we shouldn't have come here."
"Its going to be alright, you just need to ignore them. Before I ever became a leader for the Autobots, I was hated by everybody when I stepped into this restaurant. It'll be okay, besides the service here is great."
"Even during a fight!" Pinkie smiled.
Weirdwolf's eyes widened, "Wait, what are you saying? You're saying the service here is still great even during a fight?"
Rainbow chuckled evilly, "Oh yeah... you want to see?"
Weirdwolf shook his head, "I would prefer to eat in peace with you girls as company instead of trying to fight for my food in another endless battle if you don't mind."
"Aw... party pooper," Rainbow groaned.
The wolf just chuckled.
"You seem to like excitement, am I correct?"
"Yeah, I do. It gets so boring when there's nothing to do or no one to save," Rainbow said.
"Well with the amount of Decepticons you girls have faced I'm sure you must receive quite a lot of excitement," Weirdwolf replied.
Rainbow grinned, "Yep."
Weirdwolf just smiled back, but his smile turned back into a growl when he heard the couple behind him, his ears twitching, listening in on their conversation.
"Okay, can someone please hold me back? Those two are starting to really anger me..."
Sunset turned to look at the couple and she groaned.
"Oh those two. Transmit and Transport. They're rich, always look down on people like us, and they'll do anything to make someone look bad. They tried to make me look like I was back to being bad again once, and they even tried to make one of the Autobots look bad."
"Urgh... sounds awfully familiar to something I saw on Cybertron..." Weirdwolf huffed.
"Just ignore them, and they won't bother us. They're just trying to get a rise out of you," Applejack said.
Weirdwolf's ear twitched again and the girls listened to the sound of footsteps. The couple was walking from their table and looked like they were getting ready to leave as shown by the payment that was on the table for their waiter. But before they left the place, they stopped and walked towards the group of girls.
"They're coming this way..." Weirdwolf whispered still growling.
"Just let us handle this. We've dealt with them before," Twilight said.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Sunset Shimmer and her friends. I'm surprised they allowed you seven in this place after all of the destruction you girls keep causing with those on-again off-again battles with those Decepticons."
"We have a right to eat here just as much as anyone else," Rainbow snapped, "So why don't you just go about your business and leave us alone?"
"Oh we will... when we're dead!" Transmit laughed.
The girls looked unamused as they stared at the uptight couple who shared a laugh that didn't even sound like real laughter.
"Those laughs are not right," Pinkie whispered, "They don't even sound like they're laughing!"
Once their laughs died down, they continued to stare at the girls with smug looks.
"Now may I ask why you have a Decepticon in the restaurant? I thought they only served food to those machines you call your friends," Transport said with her nose up in the air.
Sunset scrunched her face with her hand, "I really do not need this today..."
"And what's that? Another Decepticon ready to kill you, or more destruction to those around you?"
"Perhaps you should stand down friend," Weirdwolf interrupted, standing up from the table.
The couple froze when they realized how tall the Decepticon was compared to them. He towered over them with a shadow, and a scary snarl on his face.
"You probably don't know how much hardwork and determination these girls put in to their lives to try and save your planet. They put their real lives on hold just to keep people like you from going into an extinction and you show no appreciation for it. You come in here acting all high and mighty and you have nothing to show for it. So if you think its a good idea to insult them out in the open for their hard work..."
Weirdwolf crouched down and got right up in their faces, his snarling teeth visible to the pale faces of the frightened pair.
"I want to see you two just try to take down a Decepticon. Like me..."
The couple stood for a few seconds, unsure of how to react. Shrug it off? No, they needed to have a good comeback. Run in terror? No that wouldn't look good for their reputation. Luckily, with their minds thinking alike, they came up with a response.
"Well, we're not going to. We have no interest in quarreling with a creature like you."
"Then I strongly suggest you leave now. You mess with them... and you mess with the Autobots... and me," Weirdwolf glared as he kept moving closer to them with his snarling mouth.
They said nothing, but instead turned around and walked away with their noses in the air and a hmmph. The wolf just shook his head and walked away back to his table and sat down with the girls.
"I'm sorry for giving them attitude, but I couldn't stand a thing they were saying to you. They had no right to be rude and I--"
"Weirdwolf. Don't apologize, its okay," Sunset smiled.
"Really?"
"We've barely been able to stand against them since we're so focused on other things, plus we don't even have anything clever to use against them. Except now when we brought in a wolf in the restaurant!" Pinkie squeed.
"Honestly, I'm just glad you didn't go and attack them with your claws," Rarity said.
"Y-You really think so?"
Sunset looked behind and she could see his long tail wagging side to side making her giggle.
"Yes, we do. And I can see someone's happy back there," Sunset giggled.
"Its a reaction I have for when I'm feeling joy. Something I've had with me since my creation," Weirdwolf said, "S-Sorry it looks weird..."
"Its not weird. I think its actually kind of cute," Fluttershy said.
Weirdwolf felt himself blush, "You think it is?"
"Uh huh," Fluttershy said.
"Oh, well, um... thank you."
Sunset and the others just chuckled. At least he was still behaving himself around them, and he didn't attack anyone. This was already starting to look like a good start.
"Okay, so now that that's out of the way, I know what we're gonna do after lunch. After we're done, we're gonna show him just what we do in our downtime," Sunset asked.
"I would love to join you girls in some down time. That is unless you have more important agendas you must attend?" Weirdwolf asked.
"I think we can work our way around it. Lets just focus on what we have going on now, we'll get there when we get there," Sunset finished.
"Um... Sunset?" Twilight whispered, "Vertebreak?"
Sunset nodded, "I haven't forgotten Twilight. Don't worry, I'll work a way around that. I promise we'll get him. Lets just focus on eating our food."
Once Twilight and Sunset finished speaking, the waiter came around with their dishes and he put them out on the table for them. And he even put down a plate with an Energon cube for the Decepticon.
When the waiter finished, he walked off to attend other orders while the girls and the Decepticon began eating their meals. One thing was for sure on the girls minds. This was going great so far. Maybe Weirdwolf wasn't as bad as they think he was. Unless he had some other motive up his claws by being polite to them...
The Transformers will return after these messages...
