LEGO World Adventures 2: The Ultimate Life Form

A military helicopter was flying over the Lego World's capitol on its way to the maximum security internment facility known as Prison Island.

""Attention control," the pilot said into the radio. "We are currently heading south. Suspects are currently in custody."

"This is control speaking. We've verified your position. Handle your suspects carefully, they're a slippery bunch."

In the back of the helicopter were several soldiers guarding their prisoners... Sonic the Hedgehog and Sunset Shimmer?!

"You still haven't explained why we're under arrest!" Sunset demanded angrily.

"From what I heard," one of the soldiers answered. "Your blue friend over there caused a bit of havoc on Prison Island last night and you're under arrest for sheltering a known felon."

"Okay, this has been fun long enough," Sonic yawned as he easily broke the cuffs that were holding him. He quickly spun into Sunset's restraints, shattering them.

"Grab him!" There was the sound of a brief scuffling before Sonic opened the door to the helicopter. Sunset's eyes widened as she knew exactly what he was planning.

"Don't even think about it!" Sunset yelled as the blue hedgehog grabbed her and jumped off the edge, grabbing a piece of the copter off as a makeshift snowboard. Sunset clung to Sonic's back as he started to spin rapidly towards the city's streets. He began to slide down the sloped roads of Lego City, with Sunset screaming the entire time.

"Dr. Snively," a G.U.N. soldier spoke into his walkie-talkie. "Blue hedgehog and his accomplice are escaping!"

"Send in the truck!" His superior answered angrily. As Sonic and Sunset continued down the streets, a large semi-truck smashed through several cars and began to chase after them.

"WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!" Sunset's eyes were past their usual limit as Sonic ditched the board and began to run as fast as he could. The giant truck followed, the driver apparently not caring who was in the way. Sonic managed to reach the city's outskirts just as the truck crashed between a narrow alley. Sonic skidded to a stop and Sunset slid off his back.

"Made it!" Sonic grinned.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Sunset screamed. "WE ALMOST GOT RUN OVER BACK THERE!"

"But we survived, didn't we?"

"I am never having you spend the night again..." Sunset grumbled to herself as they made their way out of the city.

It was a quiet night for the Lego City museum's security. A black blur suddenly dashed through the defense systems and into the room holding the green Chaos Emerald on display. The minifig, a black hedgehog, smashed the display case holding the Emerald and grabbed the jewel. Alarms blared as he quickly vanished right then and there.

The remaining Lego Team members were watching the security footage again in Celestia's office.

"It can't be Sonic!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "He would never do something like this!"

Fluttershy nodded in agreement. "He would never take something that didn't belong to him."

"Sonic was framed!" Pinkie declared as Celestia rubbed her head.

"Look, I understand your loyalty to Sonic, I am also sure he's innocent, but the public may not think so much. This robbery combined with the actions shown last night on Prison Island will be enough to have people accuse him of siding with Eggman."

"And why did they arrest Sunset?!" Twilight angrily demanded. "She did nothing wrong either!"

"I know, but Sonic was last seen at her house, so she was technically sheltering a criminal." She sighed with regret. "We have no choice but to place them under arrest until we find the real culprit."

"So that's why we're here?" Rarity asked. The Lego Team head nodded.

"I want you to clear Sonic and Sunset's names. Discreetly, of course."

"Will do!" Pinkie bounced out of the office, followed by her friends.

Sonic and Sunset had reached the city's outskirts. Sunset was panting in exhaustion from trying to keep up with Sonic.

"This game of tag is boring," Sonic quipped. "We're outta here!" But before he could move any further, a large bipedal walker mech landed in front of him. It had two large missile launchers on its back, a cannon/machine gun below its cockpit and two jet boosters in its feet. "Finally decided to catch up, huh?"

"This is Scorpion Troops' Big Foot," the mech's pilot stated. "Engaging the enemy and preparing to intercept!" The Big Foot mech took flight and tried to mow down both hedgehog and former pony alike with its gun. It then landed, giving Sonic the opportunity to attack the cockpit.

"Big Foot to Headquarters! Requesting back-up!" Sunset noticed there was a panel behind the cannon on the mech. When it landed next, Sonic distracted the pilot who began firing missiles at the hedgehog. As Sonic dodged the projectiles, Sunset tore open the panel and began to pull out the Power Bricks. The mech began to sputter then collapsed to the ground.

"H-How?!" The pilot shouted in disbelief as something suddenly warped on top of the the fallen mech. It was a black hedgehog with red stripes on his spines and arms. There was a white tuft of fur on his chest and he wore some form of skates on his feet.

"What?!" Sunset shouted in disbelief at the doppelganger. "Am I... seeing double?!"

"It all starts with this..." The black hedgehog muttered as he held up the Chaos Emerald he stole. "A jewel containing the ultimate power..."

"Now I know what's going on!" Sonic angrily stepped forward. "G.U.N. has mistaken me for the likes of you! So, where do you think you're going with that Emerald?!" The imposter only sneered as Sonic dashed forward. "Say something, you fake hedgehog!"

"Chaos Control!" The dark hedgehog grasped the Emerald tightly and suddenly disappeared. Sunset's jaw dropped at the sight.

"He's as fast as me?! No... no, he's using the Emerald to warp!"

"My name is Shadow," the new hedgehog introduced himself. "I am the world's ultimate life form. There's no time for games, farewell." Shadow quickly teleported away just as the entire Lego City police force surrounded Sonic and Sunset.

"Don't move! We have you cornered!" Police Chief Marion Dunby shouted. Sonic and Sunset looked at each other before slowly raising their hands in surrender.

"WHAT?!" Rainbow Dash screamed angrily over the phone. Twilight covered the sides of her head in irritation.

"Sonic and Sunset were arrested just now," the purple-skinned minifig repeated herself. "And apparently are being taken to Prison Island."

"Well, why are we standing around?! Let's break 'em out!"

"We can't," Twilight rubbed her temples in frustration. "If we get caught, we'll be locked up as well. Or worse, have our Creation Sparks snuffed. G.U.N. isn't like the previous enemies we have faced, Rainbow. They seem to be more ruthless."

"Well, Tails and Amy are already planning to break him out."

"THEY'RE WHAT?!" Twilight was the one who was angry now. "Rainbow, we need to get the others. We're staging a rescue mission."
