Chapters It was a nice sunny afternoon as Mrs.Oinkers, Babe, Poppy, and Saphy we're all in Timidthy's room, it had been a day since their owners had left. Sure they we're still a bit down that they had to leave. But they knew they'd come back so they decided to count the days until they came back. So the pet's decided that just relaxing for the day would be best. Suddenly a piercing scream caused all the pet's to jump, they all got up and ran towards the noise. When the pet's stopped they saw Cream Cake who was holding his chest tightly. Crackers cackled,
"Gotcha!" Crackers put a wing around Cream Cake.
"You should've seen your face it was hilarious!" Crackers said, as Cream Cake smiled sheepishly.
"Ye-Yeah.....hilarious." Cream Cake said quietly. Mrs.Oinkers, Babe, and Saphy rolled their eye's while Poppy looked annoyed.
"Okay what did you do thisss time?" Saphy said, Crackers smiled.
"Nothing I just pretended to want to eat him and he shrieked." Crackers said. Poppy's face grew red as he felt like screaming at Crackers,
"Now Crackers remember don't go too far with your pranks." Babe said in a stern voice.
"Yesss, don't overdue it." Saphy said,
"Don't worry guy's I'm sure Cream Cake would have said something if he had enough, right Creamy?" Mrs.Oinkers said calmly. Cream Cake smiled nervously as he felt pink flush come over his face.
"Ri-Right, thought I have to admit that prank gave me a start." Cream Cake said,
"See? Just fine!" Crackers said and the other's went back to Timidthy's room. Everyone except Poppy finally she spoke,
"Crackers! How dare you scare Cream Cake like that!" Poppy screamed as she got in Crackers's face. Crackers rolled his eye's,
"Because it's a prank." Crackers said.
"No! Scaring Cream Cake like that is not funny! You could've given him a heart attack!" Poppy continued,
"The other's don't seem so worried. But I guess that's to be expected when you got a shrine to the guy." Crackers said as he started to get annoyed. Poppy blushed a deep red,
"I do not! Making Cream Cake wet himself isn't what I call a harmless prank!" Poppy said. And Cream Cake blushed crimson red, he thought he had hidden it well. Cream Cake then ran off, Crackers snorted.
"See? You embarrassed the poor guy so he left the room!" Crackers snapped back. Poppy growled,
"Na-Uh! If your so sure then I bet you that he'll lose his temper and tell you off!" Poppy said. Crackers squawked,
"Oh really!? Well I bet ya by the end of this week he wouldn't have lost his temper! And when I win you have to show everypony your shrine of him! Including all the poem's, letters, and song's!" Crackers screamed his tail feathers spreading in annoyance. Poppy face blushed even redder,
"Oh yeah! Well when Cream Cake does lose his temper! You have to french kiss Mrs.Oinkers in front of everypony for three minutes straight! AND you have to dye your feathers pink! Poppy retorted back, as Crackers body practically turned pink from embarrassment. Crackers shook it off,
"Deal!" Crackers said. And Poppy smiled,
"Then it's official it's a bet!" Poppy said as she shook feathers with Crackers. And the two separate ways,
"There's no way I'm gonna let Poppy tell me when a victim has had enough pranks." Crackers muttered as he flew back to Bumper's house.
"There's no way I'm gonna let Crackers keep abusing my Cream Puff! I mean Cream Cake!" Poppy said as her blush reddened. Meanwhile Crackers was already planning his next prank. 'Okay so I put itching powder in Cream Cake's dust and he'll ba scratching for a week! I'm sure he won't lose his temper, Poppy has the nerve to tell me how to prank our friend's ha! What does she know? She's never pulled a prank in her life! Heck she's never been pranked period, everypony knows she's too sensitive to take one.' Crackers thought as he flew into Bumper's house and grabbed a bottle of itching powder. He then flew back out and made his way to the orphanage. Crackers flew into Meadow's room with great ease and saw his cage. Crackers squawked happily and opened the top to the second floor of Cream Cake's cage. Opened the bottle of itching powder and powder it in. And Crackers then shut the lid suddenly he heard small paw steps nearing the door. Crackers then flew out of the room and carefully watched as Cream Cake walked in. Cream Cake sighed as he opened his cage door and jumped in, he then used his tail to shut the door. Cream Cake hummed a little song as he made his way up to the second floor. Once he did so he started flopping and rolling in the dust, itching powder concoction. Crackers was silently laughing. As Cream Cake finished his dust bath and moved down to the first floor. Cream Cake curled himself up in his silk blanket and dozed off. Crackers flew off knowing that soon the itching powder would take effect. And Crackers was right for no sooner did he fly off Cream Cake's back leg started scratching his side subconsciously as he slept. Meanwhile Poppy was in Timidthy's room as she paced around still irritated with Crackers.
"Stupid Crackers, hurting my Cream Puff." Poppy muttered as she went under Timidthy's bed and pulled out medium-sized chest. Poppy then open it and a picture of Cream Cake layed in the center as it was surrounded by heart's, some of them had poems or songs, or love letters on them. Poppy stared at the picture dreamly, 'If only he could be mine.' Poppy thought.
Poppy was on her way to visit Cream Cake, she was running down the halls of the orphanage. Caring a basket of oatmeal cookies. Knowing they we're Cream Cake's favorite snack. Poppy stopped by Meadow's room door and opened it. And what she saw made her heart sink, Cream Cake was on Meadow's bed. His right back leg was scratching against his side's furiously. Some of his fur (including the hair-like fluff) was missing. As there was very visible red and pink splotches all over his body. And as Cream Cake scratched more and more some of his fur flew up into the air. Poppy dropped the basket and gasped, that is when Cream Cake realized Poppy was there. Cream Cake blushed a deep red and yelped as he tried to hide behind one of Meadow's pillows.
"Cream Cake! What happened to you!?" Poppy cried, Cream Cake blushed redder.
"I-I don't know! I took my usual dust bath last night and ever since then I-I can't stop scratching!" Cream Cake said clearly distressed. That's when the puzzle pieces clicked together, Poppy's eye's narrowed. She then grabbed Cream Cake by his tail and Cream Cake yelped again. Poppy then flipped a loose floor bored out-of-place and jumped down the hole with Cream Cake. The pet's we're all in Timidthy's room. Though Babe and Saphy couldn't help but notice the smug smiles on Crackers face. A loose floor board pop up along with Poppy and Cream Cake. Poppy set Cream Cake on the ground and the other's gasped seeing him in the condition that he was. While Cream Cake blushed and tried to hide himself,
Crackers paled slightly as Poppy marched towards him.
"IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL A PRANK!? " Poppy screamed at the top of her lungs. Everypony's eye's we're immediately on Crackers.
"I-I didn't know that would happen!" Crackers said jestering towards Cream Cake.
"A-A prank?" Cream Cake said as his ears twitched slightly, Crackers smiled nervously.
"Yeah I mixed a jar of itching powder in with your dust." Crackers said, Cream Cake's ears twitched again as his face turned an unnatural shade of red.
"Let me get this straight.......you violated my privacy......caused me to look like this.....and You thought that would be funny?" Cream Cake said in a hushed tone, by then the pet's had ducked out-of-the-way to avoid Cream Cake's furry. Poppy included, but she had a smirk knowing that Cream Cake was ready to blow.
"Yeah but I didn't know that it would affect you this way." Crackers said he then stared at Cream Cake who still had a mask of furry. Cream Cake sighed as his ears drooped, he then simply turned around and leapt down the hole. Everypony gawked they couldn't believe what had just happened.
"How!?" Poppy finally screamed,
"He should've exploded!" Crackers smirked.
"Well looks like he's lover not a fighter. And so far thing's are looking up for me." Crackers said smugly, Poppy blushed a deep red and growled as she stormed off.
"Okay ssspill, what are you two planning?" Saphy said calmly,
"Yeah what's going on?" Mrs.Oinkers said. Crackers smug grin fell,
"Well me and Poppy made a bet about if Cream Cake will lose his temper or not by the end of the week." Crackers said as he rubbed his wing nervously on the back of his neck. Saphy, Mrs.Oinkers and Babe rolled their eye's.
"What's at stake?" Babe asked, Crackers blushed red.
"I'm not comfortable saying but a lot is at stake." Crackers said. Meanwhile Cream Cake was sulking on his bed as he scratched miserably. He heard the loose floor board fly up and turned around to see Poppy. Cream Cake blushed redder and turned away quickly.
"I know your embarrassed, but I'm here to make you feel better!" Poppy said cheerfully. Cream Cake thought he heard a small squirt. Suddenly Cream Cake felt something cold run against his tail and jumped. Cream Cake turned his head and saw Poppy next to a bottle of Cortisone 10 Intensive Healing Itch Cream . Poppy wore a sheepish grin, while Cream Cake blushed a deep red.
"Like I said I want to make you feel better." Poppy said nervously, Cream Cake blushed redder and smiled. Poppy smiled and continued spreading the ointment on Cream Cake's back. Cream Cake blushed madly, 'I'm glad Poppy came or else I'd be miserable right now.' Cream Cake thought as he felt the itchiness on his body go away. Meanwhile Crackers was at Bumper's house trying to plan another prank. But this time not something that could hurt him physically. Bumper looked over to a bottle of fake blood Bumper had left behind and smiled.
"So I attach a bag of that stuff to the top of Cream Cake's cage and bingo Cream Cake will be screaming bloody murder!" Crackers said, Crackers flew over to the bottle and poured the fake blood into very delicate bag. Crackers carefully let his talons hold the bag and flew towards the orphanage. He was about to fly into Meadow's room but stopped when he heard voices. Poppy had covered Cream Cake's back, side, and neck with the ointment.
"I think I'll do the rest." Cream Cake said tiredly, Poppy nodded and left. Cream Cake walked into his cage and put the rest of the cream on. Wrapped himself up in his favorite silk blanket and went to sleep. Crackers smirked. While quietly and carefully opened the cage door and set up a needle at the end of the door where the hinges started. The she placed the bag on the top of the door so that when Cream Cake opened it he'd be right in the splash zone. Crackers flew out of Meadow's room and snickered. As he thought of what Cream Cake's reaction would be.
Cream Cake woke up immdiately noticing his rash was gone. But he still had patches of skin exposed from constant scratching. Cream Cake blushed at the memory and sighed, and walked towards the door he opened it and it was as if time slowed. The balloon slowly went towards the needle and as the needle collided with the balloon it popped. Time went back to normal as the fake blood spattered all over Cream Cake. Cream Cake yelped and wiped the substance from his closed eye's. He opened them and saw what looked to be was blood, Cream Cake felt his heart race and finally he screamed,
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! " Meanwhile Poppy was making some more oatmeal cookies from her filly bake oven for Cream Cake. Since the last batch ended your on the floor. Poppy then heard a scream, she quickly pulled the last cookie out. And placed it in a basket as she made her way over to the orphanage. Crackers had also heard as he flew off to the orphanage to tell Cream Cake he had pranked him again. Poppy popped up from the loose floor board in Meadow's room and heard what sounded like a sink. As she looked down at the floor, it looked like blood. Poppy gave a muffled scream and placed the basket of cookies in Cream Cake's cage. Poppy jumped over the fake blood and ran to the restroom door. Poppy tried to push the door open but it was locked, Poppy sighed and out her ear to the door. She could hear Cream Cake crying and, Poppy teared up and wanted to help Cream Cake but doubted he'd let her. Poppy sighed and slid against the door she then heard wing's flapping. She looked to see Crackers fly into the room,
"YOU! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! DID YOU USE REAL BLOOD!? I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED WITH YOUR SICK SENSE OF HUMOUR!! " Poppy screamed. Crackers rolled his eye's,
"Relax I used fake blood." Crackers said calmly.
"SO!? YOU REALLY SCARED HIM!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR TO LOOSE HIS TEMPER! CAUSE WHEN HE DOES IT'S GONNA BE LIKE A BOMB WENT OFF!" Poppy said as tears welded up in her eye's,
"And I'm telling you he won't!" Crackers said as he flew off in a huff. Poppy growled suddenly she heard the door open, and Cream Cake came out with his fur soaked and he was shaking. Cream Cake moved the fur that was obscuring his vision. Cream Cake blushed a deep red when he saw Poppy was there. Poppy blushed as she ran to get a towel and tried not to stare. Poppy gave the towel to Cream Cake who took it instantly, and wrapped it around himself.
"Okay, no offense,but why we're you here!?" Cream Cake said as his face was still red. Poppy blushed redder,
"I came after I heard you scream. I wanted to know if you we're okay." Poppy said shyly, Cream Cake blushed redder.
"I-I'm sorry I shouldn't have raised my voice." Cream Cake said as his ears fell. Poppy sighed,
"Cream Cake. The truth is you really should tell Crackers what you think. Your good a being honest but only when ponies ask you something. You need to be honest to Crackers and tell him what you think." Poppy said calmly. Cream Cake blush deepend,
"I-I can't! If I tell him what I think of his pranks I'd break his heart." Cream Cake said.
"Listen on Monday me and Crackers made a bet to see if by the end of this week you'd lose your temper or not. I made the bet because I thought it was the only way for you to get to tell Crackers what you think. Even if it resulted in you hurting Crackers's feelings. But I'm worried that keeping your emotions bottled up will do more harm to you especially. I don't care about the bet, if you refuse to lose your temper then I respect that. But I want you to be happy." Poppy said and Cream Cake felt tears come to his eye's as he hugged Poppy. Poppy blushed and berried her face into Cream Cake's fur. Cream Cake blushed sniffed the air,
"Hey did you make oatmeal cookies?" Cream Cake asked. Poppy smiled and pulled out of the embrace,
"Yep!" Poppy said cheerfully. Poppy then ran over and put the basket of cookies in between her and Cream Cake. Cream Cake took one and started eating it,
"So are you going to tell Crackers what you think?" Poppy said. Cream Cake swallowed and his ears twitched nervously.
"I-I'm sorry Poppy but I don't feel like that would be a wise idea." Cream Cake said. Poppy smiled,
"It's okay Cream Cake, it's okay." Poppy smiled and Cream Cake smiled as he sat closer to Poppy and shared the cookies with her. Meanwhile Crackers was in Bumper's room. Planning another prank......except not for Cream Cake.
"I'm sick of Poppy! I think I'm gonna have to pull a prank on her and show her what it's like." Crackers said with a smug grin. Crackers then felt a lightbulb go off in his head. And Crackers smiled, 'Best idea I've ever had.' Crackers though as he sketched out his plan.
The next morning Crackers flew into the castle as he waited for his prank to take shape. Babe, Saphy, Poppy, Cream Cake and Mrs.Oinkers we're in the throne room. Talking about their owners as usual as Crackers flew in. Crackers made sure to leave the door wide open as he landed beside Cream Cake. Who tensed up a little, while Poppy glared. 'What's he up to?' Poppy thought. The pet's continued to talk as Poppy looked at two small thrones in between Luna and Celestia's. One was colored green while on was colored red. Poppy smiled she remembered Timidthy and Blood Bones. Would pretend to rule over the kingdom. Poppy walked over to the green throne and jumped in it. Crackers felt a smirk grow onto his face as the sound of something creaking filled the air. The other pet's stopped their conversation. As they tried to figure out where the sound was coming from. Poppy leaned her ear against the throne but she realized too late. As the seat of the throne sprang up and Poppy hit the wall with a wet smack. The the pet's gasped and looked up their eye's wide as they saw Poppy was glued to the ceiling. With what looked like was a combination of taffy, glue, peanut butter, and chocolate. Cream Cake was the one who was shocked the most for some reason he felt anger. Crackers was snickering trying to contain his laughter for phase two. Poppy blushed madly,
"Crackers when I get down here your dead!" Poppy said as she struggled against the sticky concoction. Crackers snorted as he saw Poppy slowly peel off the wall. Poppy fell and landed on the seat of the red throne and she flew out the door and crashed in the castle kitchen. Cream Cake was the first to react as he ran towards the kitchen. Crackers and the other's followed in pursuit. As Cream Cake ran into the kitchen he saw that a net filled with honey was ripped. As he saw Poppy had flown through it into a bucket of feathers. Cream Cake gasped and pulled Poppy out. She was coated in multiple coloured feathers as Poppy wobbly tried to get up. Just then Babe, Saphy, Mrs.Oinkers, and Crackers ran in. They all gasped, minus Crackers who busted out in hysterics.
"Gotcha! How does it feel to be pranked?" Crackers said once he was able to catch his breath. Poppy teared up as she felt her face heat up, Babe, Saphy and Mrs.Oinkers stayed quiet in shock. While Cream Cake felt his body go red as if shook vigorously, he turned to Crackers. Crackers pupils dilated as he began taking steps back. Babe, Saphy, and Mrs.Oinkers jumped into one of the cabinets and shut the door. While Poppy jumped into the bucket,
"HOW DARE YOU HURT POPPY! " Cream Cake screamed,
"I CAN DEAL WITH A LOT OF THING'S BUT NOPONY HURTS POPPY! SHE'S THE SWEETEST MOST ADORABLE PET ON THE PLANET AND I WON'T LET YOU GET AWAY WITH HURTING HER! DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT I THINK OF PRANKS!? I THINK THERE STUPID, IDIOTIC, A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY, AND ANYONE WHO PULLS PRANKS ARE MORONS!! BUT I DELT WITH IT BECAUSE I WAS BEING NICE! BUT NOW FUCK THAT! YOU'VE TORMENTED ME FOR THREE DAY'S! DO YOU THINK CAUSING ME TO SHED EARLY IS A PRANK!? DO YOU THINK GIVING ME A RASH IS A FUNNY!? CAUSE BELIEVE ME THAT RASH WAS EVERYWHERE! DO YOU THINK SOAKING ME IN FAKE BLOOD IS FUNNY AND GIVING ME SLIGHT HEMOPHOBIA IS A JOKE!? CAUSE I DON'T THINK IT IS! YOU NEED TO LEARN WHO LIKES PRANKS AND WHO DOSENT CAUSE I CERTAINLY DON'T LIKE THEM ESSENTIALLY AFTER THIS THREE DAY'S!!! " Cream Cake screamed, by the time he was done his voice was hoarse and Crackers was almost as pale as a piece of paper. The other pet's left their hiding spots along with Poppy who had a smile on her face. Cream Cake snapped out of his rage just as he looked at Poppy,
"You did it! And now a certain bird has to cash in his deal of our bet!" Poppy said cheerfully. Crackers blushed a deep red which contrasted against his pale feathers.
"N-No." Crackers whispered, Poppy smiled.
"Yes. A deal's a deal and you're a bird of your word." Poppy said smugly, Crackers blushed redder. And he looked over to Mrs.Oinkers who was trying to figure out what was so bad about the deal Crackers's had made with Poppy. Cream Cake, Babe, and Saphy we're trying to figure out as well but their thoughts we're stopped like a train tripping over a penny as Crackers french kissed Mrs.Oinkers. Everypony gasped, minus Mrs.Oinkers, Poppy, and Crackers. Mrs.Oinker had turned an unnatural shade of red while Poppy was smirking evilly. Crackers wasn't going to lie to himself he had dreamed of this moment but he didn't dream it with his friends staring at him in shock and confusion. And he certainly hadn't dreamed it after Cream Cake had just smack talked him. Babe, Saphy and Cream Cake began to look away, growing uncomfortable with the scene. While Poppy had her eye's glued on Crackers relishing in his humiliation, finally the three minutes we're up and Crackers pulled back. Covering his mouth to prevent a string of saliva from following. He then flew off leaving everypony wondering,
"What the heck just happened!?" Mrs.Oinkers screamed. The pet's we're back in the throne room as Poppy explained Crackers's half of the bet if he we're to tick Cream Cake off.
"Wow so he did that because of a bet." Mrs.Oinkers said sounding slightly detected.
"Actually Crackers has told me he's wanted to kiss you." Babe said,
"He was setting up a plan, you know how he is about his schedules." Babe finished. Suddenly the door opened and everypony gasped, the pet's (minis Mrs.Oinkers) who blushed a deep red. Crackers, as him and Poppy had agreed on, had dyed his feathers a light pink. As he was wishing he had chosen a darker shade of pink as he felt blush burn at his cheeks. Crackers muttered curses under his breath as he took in the laughter.
"I-I never thought I'd be more happier to see Crackers in my entire life!" Babe said as he caught his breath.
"Yeah tickle me pink! Thisss is pricelessss!" Saphy spoke, Crackers blushed redder as he flew off. No sooner Babe, Saphy, and Mrs.Oinkers then saw what time it was and left.
"So......you think I'm adorable?" Poppy said and Cream Cake blushed,
"Yep." Cream Cake said calmly.
"You know what you deserve from standing up to Crackers and complementing me?" Poppy said sweetly.
"What?" Cream Cake said just as Poppy kissed him and hugged him tightly, Cream Cake didn't try to pull back as he enjoyed the moment. Meanwhile Mrs.Oinkers popped up from a loose floor board in Bumper's room. The room was dark as she heard sniffing and crying. She sniffed the air and she smelled hair products, and a salt sent. 'Crackers' Mrs.Oinkers thought as she put her favorite yellow wig on and let I glow. She saw Crackers was in Bumper's bed covers, Mrs.Oinkers quietly got on the bed and went under the covers. She didn't have to walk long until she bumped into a large pink form. The form turned around and Mrs.Oinkers saw Crackers eye's we're blood-shot from crying. He jumped and tried to hide himself,
"No! Don't look at me!" Crackers screamed. Mrs.Oinkers was shocked,
"Cra-Crackers! It's okay!" Mrs.Oinkers said.
"No it's not! I'm never gonna live this down! I got screamed at by Cream Cake and had to kiss you and you probably hate me! And I have to dye my feathers pink! I just want to crawl into a hole and-" Crackers managed to get out before Mrs.Oinkers kissed his on the top of his beak.
"It's okay." Mrs.Oinkers repeated calmly and Crackers felt tears welled up in his eye's again as he hugged Mrs.Oinkers tightly.
